The NES era was a simpler time, you didn't need 15-20 buttons on a controller to have a great game, four buttons and a directional pad is all you need. Take a look at the diagram below in case you don't which button is A, and Which is B. BTW, if you want to use it, go ahead, just make sure you put my name on it. | | _________________| |_____________ | | | _ Nintendo | | _| |_ | ||_ 0 _| SELECT START B A | | |_| [ ] [ ] _ _ | | |_| |_| | |_________________________________| (Pretty Cool Don't ya think?) D-Pad - The D-Pad also know as a Directional Pad, allows you to move your character about, and it move your cursor around menus to select things. Select - The Select button does absolutely nothing in this game. Pity, I'm sure they could have found a use for it for something. Start - The Start button pauses the game and accepts things in menus. To tell if a game is paused or not, you'll notice your guy won't move when you hit the D-pad, this could also mean your game froze, but then the music wouldn't be working. A - The A button is certainly THE BUTTON in this game, it does everything, Accepts commands and brings up menus. Anything you want, the A button has got it for you. B - Did you accidentally hit the A Button? Hit B to make the naughty A button's effects go away. The B button is used to cancel things and take menus back down after you're through looking at them. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= C O M M A N D M E N U S =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This section is all about the command menus and the status menus. Like most RPGs, Dragon Warrior has a few command menus, two to be exact. One for cruising around the world, and the other for fighting. There is also a status menu that pops up when you pause. In this section you'll see a diagram of the menu I speak of, and what each thing means. To bring up these menus Hit the A button, or get into a fight. 0-------------Command-------------0 | Talk Spell | | Status Item | | Stairs Door | | Search Take | 0---------------------------------0 Talk - Initiates a conversation with the NPC(Non-playable Character) you're currently facing. Status - Your current status, tells you: Your name, Strength and Agility Ratings, Max HP and MP, Your Attack and Defense Power, the current Weapon, armor and shield you have equipped. Stairs - When your character is directly over a set of stairs hit this button and you will go up/down the stairs. You NEEED TO BE ON IT or you won't work. Search - Searches the ground for any items, it's not likely it'll be there randomly. Spell - Shows what spells you've learned. Item - The list of all the items you have Door - Uses the key on the door you're currently facing. Take - When you are over a treasure chest, or anything you want to take, hit this. Like the stairs YOU NEED TO BE ON THE ICON, of it won't work. 0--Name--0 | LV | | Hp | | Mp | | G | | E | 0--------0 *okay the menu is a bit centered, it just didn't look right without the corresponding numbers =P. LV - The level your character is currently at. HP - How many Hit points you currently have left. MP - How many Magic points you currently have left. G - How much gold you currently have. E - How much experience you've gained throughout your travels. 0----Fight----0 |Fight Spell| |Run Item| 0-------------0 *It actually says "Command" at the top, but I think "fight" looks better... Fight - Uses the weapon you have to attack the enemy. Spell - Uses a Spell you have to attack the enemy or cure yourself. Run - Attempt to run away from combat. Enemies also have this command and if they feel that you can put a series hurting on them, then they will flee before the fight begins. Pussies... Item - Use an Item, there isn't too many that you can use in battle though. Well that's all of them, now on to wait you came for... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= R E F R E S H E R =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Let's face it folks, some people are smarter and better at gaming then others. Not everyone needs a person or file to walk them step-by-step through a game. But Dragon warrior is a rather confusing game if you don't know what the hell you're doing. So here is a quick check list of things you should do to complete the game in the order I have them listed in the walkthrough, that way if you get stuck you can easily find the help, pretty cool yes? Now, you may be wondering, why the hell I called this section a refresher? Well, not only is this for gaming gods that lack direction, this is also good for people who just dug their NES out of the closet or attic, and were over- joyed to see it still works. They plugged in Dragon Warrior but they found out they forgot what the hell to do, but they've done it so they know how, this is for them. 1) Start the Game[] 2) Go to Erdrick's Cave, see his tablet [] 4) Acquire Fairy Flute [] 6) Get the Fighters Ring [] 7) Get some Magic Keys [] 7) Rescue the Princess [] 8) Obtain the Stones of Sunlight [] 9) Get the Silver Harp [] 10) Trade the Harp for the Staff of Rain [] 11) Get Erdrick's Armor [] 12) Get Erdrick's Token [] 13) Fuse the Stones of Sunlight and Staff of rain together at the temple [] 14) Use the Rainbow Drop to cross the bridge to Castle Charlock [] 15) Obtain Erdrick's Sword [] 16) Defeat the Dragon lord [] 17) Watch the Ending [] That's the game in a nut-shell, pretty quick, but if you don't know what you're doing, it can be a real bitch. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= W A L K T H R O U G H =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This is the section where you'll get all the fun knowledge and help on defeating one of the best and first RPGs of all time. It will be broken down section by section, from the start to the finish. I hope to include text based maps for the dungeons and caves so you can easily get through them, though I may not get this done. Ready? Here we go! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Beginning (story stuff) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "In olden days of yore, the realm of Alefgard was cloaked in darkness. According to legend, a brave warrior, Erdrick, brought light back to the land by defeating an evil being. He used the Ball of Light bequeathed to him by a friend to drive off the enemies of Alefgard. He then gave the Ball of Light to King Lorik, who unified Alefgard. The land was at peace for many generations. In the time of King Lorik XVI, the Ball of Light were stolen from Tantegel Castle by the evil Dragonlord, and once again the Kingdom of Alefgard was plunged into darkness. Many travelers fell prey to the merciless fangs of monsters, and the beautiful was transformed into poisonous swamps that hindered travelers. It was also rumored that several Towns and Villages were destroyed; wiped off the face of the land by Ghosts & Dragons. Many brave warriors tried to recover the Ball of Light, but none of them returned from Charlock, the Dragonlord's dark castle. The people longed for peace, but did not give up hope. The great Seer Mahetta predicted that "One day, a descendent of the valiant Erdrick shall come forth to defeat the Dragonlord." Who is this brave soul? There is only one possible answer. You. Your quest is to find and defeat the Dragonlord. The time has come. This is the start of your adventure." This comes straight from the Instruction manual, so it is (C)Enix and If you have this, I am truly jealous of you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who's who? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This little section is on the characters so you know what the hell everyone is talking about. MMM K? [Your Name] - You are the descendent of Erdrick, you must fight the Dragon Lord to restore peace to the land of Alefgard. To do that you must quest and find three items to build a bridge to the Castle Charlock, the home of the Dragon Loard. King Lorik - This greedy bastard is the guy that makes you do stuff. Even though you're going to rescue the princess and save his kingdom from certain Doom, he still takes half of your money away when you die. What a dick. Come to this guy to save, or see how far you are from the next level. Princess Gwaelin - This is the girl you need to rescue. She's also your "Love interest" if you could call it that. She'll give you her love which will help you find an item you will need later. She's pretty crazy, and if you tell her no, she'll just say "Too Bad" so you have to always say yes to her, what a psycho. The Dragon Lord - The guy that's fucking up the kingdom, you need to stop him by any means possible, if you try to join him, he'll just kill you and you have to start over. Which really sucks, so don't say you'll join him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starting the game ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the game first loads up you'll want to press start. Now in the menu you'll want to begin a new log on the battery pack, or continue an old one. Pick your character's name, (Note: only 4 letters of the name will be visible on the save file) and pick the text speed. I strongly suggest you use fast as the other two take too long, it also speeds up the battles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally some action! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you'll begin the game, and the king will yak your ear off. When he finally shuts up, go around and collect the treasure chests by walking so your character is over them, then hit "Take" off of the command menu. Collect all three boxes from them and disregard the guards, talking to them is a waste of time. Once you've collected all the boxes go to the door (the red and black key hole looking thing) and select "Door" from the command menu. This will use the magic key you just got to open the door. Now let me talk about these keys for a second. Basically any locked door requires a key, you can buy keys a bit later in the game or find them, but pick what you use your key on wisely as they are expensive and hard to find. Now, back to the action. Go to the stairs (you must be over them) and open the command menu and hit "Stairs". Note that you have to "talk" with the king in order to save your game. Also, if you die you will "re-start" talking to the king with half your money gone. Greedy bastard... Now you'll be outside in the town of Tentegel, go around town and talk to people if you want an idea of what you have to do, or would like some crappy advice about stupid things. You could also read the "Town Folk" appendix near the end of this guide. Okay go out of the village by traveling south. Now go to the village to the right, here you can buy some stuff you'll need. Go to the weapons shop located in the northwest corner of the town. You could buy a club and waste 50 gold at a point in the game where a stronger weapon would be really nice. Or you could by a bamboo stick, which at this point won't really make a difference except the 50 gold. If you do buy the stick you can also get the armor, and be closer to getting the Copper sword. Now exit the town the same way you came in and fuck around in the trees fighting monsters. When you get 70 gold or are about to die, go back to the town and visit the inn (if you're almost dead) or the weapon shop (if you have the 70 gold). Buy the leather armor, if you haven't already, or go back and fight to get the money for it. Now that you have weapons and armor, go back out and level up some more. At level 3 you'll learn heal, when you do go to the inn to rest. After a quick rest go back out and level up till around level 5, from here your adventure can begin. You don't have to level up that much, depending on how skilled you are (at Role playing games), but it doesn't hurt to level up as you'll need it in later levels anyway. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The First Cave, and Erdrick's Tablet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This quest is entirely optional, it's just a tablet left by Erdrick to tell you what to do. The Maze itself is not that hard. But alas I shall help you through it. If you don't want to do it, then I shall tell you what the tablet says. From Tentegel, go west, then north, and eventually you'll see a forest to the west, go into it. Inside the forest is a desert, and inside the desert is a cave. Go into the cave. Now you'll be in pitch dark and only be able to see the square you're on, which sucks. Anyway, pull up the command menu and go to items, select "Torch" which is something you got from the king's room. Now you should be able to see a bit more. Walk around till you find the stairs, take them the walk around till you find a treasure chest. Inside will be a tablet containing the following: " I am Erdrick and thou art my descendant. Three items were needed to reach the Isle of Dragons, which is south of Brecconary. I gathered these items, reached the island, and there defeated a creature of great evil. Now I have entrusted the three items to three worthy keepers. Their descendents will protect the items until thy quest leads thee to seek them out. When a new evil arise, find the three items, then fight! " Basically it says you need three things to go to the island of the dragons, where the dragon lord lives. Then you need to kick the shit out of this guy. Straight forward and simple. Here's some Directions to get there speedily. right one /down six /left one/ down two/ right six/ up one/ right two/ down three/ right two/ down two/ now take the stairs. Right one/ up five/ left three/ down four/ left two/ up one/ left one/ up one/ left three/ up three/ right three/ up three/ left three/ up two/ right six/ down four/ right three, then use the "Take" option on the chest. You can also look at the Cave/dungeon Appendix for a nifty picture. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moving on with your life ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well you've got a taste of the caves and dungeons in the game, now you'll have to wait a while before you can go into another one. You'll want to level up to around level 6 or 7 then go to find the fairy flute in Kol, after upgrading all of your equipment in Garinham. Garinham is in the far northwest corner of the map, so mosey on up there, kicking the snot out of any enemies you see. If a magician appears, use hurt, or you may die. Okay when you get to Garinham, make sure you have plenty of money to buy a Copper Sword, armor (if you don't already have some) and a shield (if you don't already have one). It'll cost 180+70+90 to get the sword, armor and shield. Now if you have all the gold for that, good for you. If you don't, well then go get it. Now that you have all this cool shit, you can put a serious hurting on any enemy you cross, so do that. Level up and gain gold, whilst heading to Kol, it's on the other side of Tantegel. So go back, heal yourself at the inn in Brecconary (the town next to the Castle Tentegel), as the inn is only 6 gold. Now head to the north and go to the east after you go past the big mountains. Find the bridge and cross it. Now keep going on the path east, and then a little north, while still going east. Kol will be found in a forest around this area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting the Fairy Flute ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the town of Kol, the only point of this town is that it's the house of the fairy flute. The fairy flute puts certain monsters to sleep for long periods of time, it can be used in battle to help out against the big ones, though it doesn't work against the dragon lord. You'll need to put a golem to sleep later, but for now, it will just aid you in leveling up. Go to the square of water in the north of Kol, it's said to "cure rheumatism" which is a hurting of the joints, I'm not sure if actually does anything though, if it does I haven't figured it out.. any ways. Go three steps south of the well, then hit "Search" on the command menu. BOYAKA! You now have the fairy flute. An important thing I think I should put out, is in the west of the town is the Staff of rain, you can't get it yet, but now you know where it is. Guess what happens now...you guessed it, more leveling up! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leveling up and moving out ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a fun thing to do, go from level 6-8, and go to level 11. This will take sometime, but if you have the copper sword you should be putting a hurting on enemies now. And you can put some of these enemies to sleep with the fairy flute which will speed this process up a bit. Go towards the desert, or hang out around Kol in the trees and fight magicians and skeletons. Make sure to go back to Kol if you need some health. Try to use all of your magic on the big enemies like the Magicians, Skeletons and scorpions. Now if you really want to, and just get it out of the way, you can go up past level 11 to level 13-15, or even higher. The higher you go, the easier it will be to play through the rest of the game. Make sure you also have large amount of Gil, as you'll want to be buying new stuff whenever you can. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obtaining the Fighter Ring ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So you're at level 11, or so, and you want an item that will give you an edge to kick some extra ass. Well the Fighter Ring is what you want to quest for, head to the Rock Mountain Cave. This is the First Cave you'll fight in, kill everything and find the Ring, as well as the Cursed Belt. And get out of there. This really isn't necessary, but every bit helps. If you need help navigating the Rock Mountain Cave, take a look at the Cave Appendix. There will be a map there that will help you through the cave. Once you have the fighter's ring you can go about acquiring Erdrick's Relics, and finally facing off with the Dragon Lord. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Acquiring Erdrick's Relics, Step 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you're going to have to walk all the way back to the swamp cave south of Kol. Just go through, the princess will have to wait, for now at least. When you get to the end, go to Rimulader, and get some magical keys, like 5 or so, that's all you really need, you can always get more. Also try getting some new equipment if you've got the money. Try sticking around a bit and fighting some of the high level monsters, it'll help when you go to rescue the princess. On your way back through the Swamp Cave, stop to rescue the Princess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry Mario, but Our Princess is in another Castle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You won't actually hear that, just thought I'd remind you all of how annoying that was, similar to that fucking dog in Duck Hunt. *shakes fist* It's like they had a meeting at nintendo where the subject is "How can we piss off our customers?" "Hey Bob, what about putting a dog that laughs at you in that duck hunting game? GREAT IDEA STEVE!, And let's make it so you can shoot at it, but you won't ever hit it and you'll just waste your bullets and miss another duck!, Damn Bob you're so smart" Anyway, on your way back through the Swamp Cave, be a gentlemen and help the lady in distress. You'll need to fight the green dragon that guards her cell, see the beast appendix if you want in-depth details on it. Just whack at it with your sword, or use Hurt and what not until it dies, using the fairy flute you got earlier will help a lot with this. When you finish it up, use a key on the door and talk to the princess. Now you say "yes" when she asks you to take her back to Tantegel, otherwise she'll continue to ask and say "But you Must" till you give in. Cool, you need to go there anyway! Take her to the king and he'll be grateful, but he doesn't give you jack shit. What a cheap skate. The Princess will give you her "Love" which isn't just another word for nookie, what a pity. She'll give you this thing that tells you where you are, which will help you find Erdrick's Token and will also tell you how many more Experience points you need to gain until you reach the next level. Nifty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Stones of Sunlight ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, you saved the princess, and now it's time to get on with the real quest, STOPPING THE DRAGON LORD OOOOOHHHHH YEEEAAAAHHH GET SOME!!!!!! To do this go and open up the locked doors on the right of the castle, go around the back and walk around the wall (ignore the key guy, he charges WAAAAAYYY to much). Also ignore the guy behind the Diagonal ground stuff, all he does is tell you where the Grave of Garin is, but shit I'll tell you that! Anyway, walk around the wall until you find the stairs, go down and talk to the guy, then take the chest. Inside are the Stones of Sunlight BOOYAKA! Now you have the first relic, too bad getting all of them won't be this easy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Grave of Garin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time to go to the Grave of Garin, so you can obtain the silver harp, which in turn will get you the Staff of rain, which gets you the Rainbow drop. Nifty ain't it? Go up to Garinham, which is the town in the north west corner of the game. Once inside go inside the door on the east side of town, the people will tell you stupid things as usual, and there will be some chests and guards behind the door. Anyway, go to the wall piece that is kinda dark or whatever and push on it. TADAAA!!!! You've found the Grave of Garin, some old guy will warn you. But Fuck him, he's old, so go get the silver harp. The harp is on the third level of this cave, but to get to it, you must go to the fourth so wonder around finding the stairs, you can always use the cave appendix to help you find your way to it. While in here you might want to stop and get the cursed belt if you have the energy and ability too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moving On ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you have the silver harp! Woop-de-doo. Time to move on. Go across the map to Kol, and visit the guy who wanted the silver harp in the west of the town. Give him the harp, he'll give you the Staff of Rain. BOYAKA! You only need to find one more item. Go down to the southern continent, and visit Cantlin. Guarding Cantlin is the Golem, killing him could prove difficult if you never got the fairy flute. Before Fighting the Golem, I recommend you level up a bit, and recharge all your stuff at an inn. You'll need to level up and get gold anyway, so doing it now won't make any difference. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cantlin and Beyond! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fighting the Golem is actually pretty simple, put him to sleep and whack the crap out of him. That's it really. Now you're stuck in a crappy place, you need to earn a bunch of gold for new stuff. Try to get the Silver shield at the very least, but anything else you can get will really help, IE: the flamming sword and the magic armor. Just keep fighting all the monsters in the area and healing if you need to. Once you have the silver shield and maybe the flamming sword, it's time to go get Erdrick's Armor. FUN!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Armor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Armor is located in Hauksness. It's located in the south west of the game in a desert. I recommend being at least level 16 or higher before going in. Otherwise you're liable to get beat on like a red-headed step child. Once you enter the town, go south, then east along the broken wall. You will see a few swamp spaces followed by a tree. Walk across the swamp, and prepare for battle, when ready, and walk to the tree. It's time to fight an Axe Knight, one of the most powerful enemies in the game. You won't be able to put this guy to sleep, he's too strong for it, so you're just going to have to whack at him until he dies. Very Strategic. Once you defeat the Axe Knight, search the ground and you should find Erdrick's Armor. Erdrick's Armor is by far the best armor in the game, it heals one lost hit point for every step you take, has a superior defense rating, and it is immune to terrain damage. Now you should have the Silver Shield, Erdrick's Armor and the Flamming Sword. If you do Cool, it's time to move on. If you don't... it may be wise to get these things. We're going now to find Erdrick's Token, so we can cross the rainbow bridge and fuck up the Dragon Lord! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Token ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well if you've been paying attention to what people have been saying, you'll know the location of Erdrick's token. What's that? I told you to ignore those dumb peons? That I did, for that I apologize, to make it up to you, I will tell you where the Token is found! You can find it at 40 steps south, 70 steps east. Of Tantegel Castle that is, you can find this spot by using Gwaelin's Love. At this point on the map you must search the ground. When you find it, we can finally get the Rainbow Drop and fight the Dragon Lord!!! WOO-HOO! You're Almost there, yet you have a long way to go. At this point I recommend leveling up a bit, people have beaten the Dragon Lord at levels of around 17 and 18, but you want to stop on his ass. So I suggest something closer to 22-25. This will ensure a swift ass-kicking. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Rainbow drop ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You've got everything you need to get the rainbow drop. So why don't you have it!?! You obviously don't know how to get it. That's why I'm here, to help out your ass in case you get stuck or whatever. Go to the southeastern corner of the game map, and there you shall see a temple surrounded by big mountains. Inside this temple the last disciple of Erdrick will merge the Stones of Sunlight and the Staff of Rain together if you have Erdrick's Token. As soon as he does this, you can now enter Castle Charlock!!! BUM BUM BUMMMMM!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You must be this tall to enter Castle Charlock ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just because you can enter Charlock doesn't mean you should. "Shit you could drive with your feet if you wanted to, that doesn't make it a good fucking idea" ~ Chris Rock. You need to level up, BIG TIME. I recommend being around level 20 at least. If you're at that, COOL!! Let's GO! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ho Ho, you thought we were really going to fight the Dragon Lord Didn't you? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just because you go inside Charlock doesn't mean you have to fight the Dragon lord. First what we're going to do is go in and get Erdrick's Sword. Once you have it, just fight the monsters and level up to level 23. All the elite minions of the Dragon Lord are here, leveling up shouldn't take that much time. If you find yourself getting killed a lot, you might need to go outside the castle and level up around Cantlin and Rimulader. The Dragon Lord is one tough cookie, if you can't take on his monster's he'll work you over like his prison bitch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting Erdrick's Sword ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last "section" was pretty much a brief synopsis of what we're about to do. To get Erdrick's Sword, you'll need to follow these directions. Though first you'll need to have: The Flame Sword, The Silver Shield, and finally Erdrick's Armor. The fighter's ring and a Dragon Scale will help, but you don't need them. When you get inside Castle Charlock it looks like any other town, which is a good thing, as a big ass dungeon would really suck. Did I just say that? Because Charlock is a Big ass Dungeon, and yes it does suck. You'll find fake stair cases and fake treasure chests, all the while fighting the toughest enemies in the entire game. As I said before It really does suck. I would tell you how to get the sword, step by step, but I honestly couldn't do that, I just wondered around until I found it. You can use the map in the Caves and Dungeons Appendix below to help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One More time! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No, we're not going to celebrate, we're going to level up. The best way to level up at this point is in Charlock castle. You are pretty close to a town, and you should have tons of HP and MP so staying here and leveling up should not at all be a problem. Level 23 is my recommended level for taking on the Dragon Lord, though I've heard of people beating him at level 17 or so. When you're at your desired level and you have Erdrick's Sword, Erdrick's Armor and the Silver Shield, as well as The Fighter's Ring (Optional) and a Dragon Scale (also optional) as well as a huge supply of Herbs, as well as a few torches It's time to fight the dragon lord. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEEEEETTT'SSS GET READY TO RUMMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBLLLLEEEEE!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter Charlock Castle and Proceed to the Dragon Lord's Throne room (Use the Cave Appendix to find it). This time in Charlock do your best to run from all the enemies, and try not to waste your MP on Radiance. When you finally enter the Dragon Lord's Lair he will offer you a deal: " Welcome, [YOUR NAME], I am the Dragonlord -- King of Kings. I have been waiting long for one such as thee. I give thee now a chance to chare this world and to rule half of it if thou will now stand beside me. What sayest thou? Will the great warrior stand with me? " If you say "Yes" He'll be like "OMG WTF I TRICKZ U, NOWz u DIE!!!!!" And supposedly it will erase your game. But hey, if you're going to join with pure evil, you deserve to have to start over. If you Say No he'll be like "OMG WTF U DIE!!!!" And the battle begins. When you're fighting the dragon lord don't waste anytime using spells that will stop or slow him down, you'll just waste your time and allow him to get free hits in. Cast Healmore when you get down on HP, and Whack at him until he falls. Congratulations you've just beaten the Dragon Lord! OMG WTF IS THAT!!!!?!?!?!? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dragon Lord Strikes Back ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EEEEKKK It's a big dragon. Hmmm, did you really think that feeble old man was really the Dragon Lord? Because I expected a big fucking dragon. I guess I'm right. This new Dragon Lord is a bit more powerful, he'll breath fire at you which is a real pain in the ass. Like the feeble old man, forget about all the stupid stop spells and sleep spells and only use Heal and Healmore. Besides that just whack at him, he has a good 130 HP, so you may be whacking and healing for a while. BOOOYAKA!!! You've just beaten the Dragon Lord, a winner is you! Time to talk about the endings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The End...(?), The question mark means it may not really be the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Upon defeating the Dragon Lord, the game will say: "Thou hast found the Ball of Light. Radiance streams forth as thy hands touch the object and hold it aloft. Across the land spreads the brilliance until all shadows are banished and peace is restored." You will now appear outside of Charlock, healed up and ready to move out. Use some wings, or cast return to go to Tantegel. All of the Guards will tell you to go see the king. What the fuck? Where's My Parade you Cheap Bastards!!? I gave you thousands of gil throughout the game, whenever I died, Half my Gil went to this hell hole!!! BLARGH!!!!!!! At any rate talk to king lorick, and he says, "The legends have proven true. Thou art indeed of the line of Erdrick. It is thy right to rule over this land. Will thou take my place?" Then it says, "[Your name] thought carefully before answering." "I cannot," said [Your name]. "If I am to rule a country, it must be a land that I myself find." That Psycho Gwaelin will now say to you, "Please, wait. I wish to go with thee on thy journey. May I travel as thy companion?" If you say "no" she'll say "But I must" You must because you're a STALKER! *Calls the Cops* If you say "Yes" she'll say "I'm so Happy" Of course you are you Psycho, now you can kill me in my sleep. After this exchange of words takes place, a new screen follows: "And thus the tale comes to an end.... unless the dragons return again." You then pick up the princess, and the following pops up: CONGRATULATIONS! THOU HAS RESTORED PEACE UNTO THE WORLD! You've done it, you've beaten one of the first and greatest RPGS of all time, all though it wasn't that hard (Cause I rock at helping you) You can now brag about it. ONWARD HO WITH THE APPENDICES!!!! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= A P P E N D I C E S =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= In this section you'll learn all about the little things. It's always the little things isn't it? Well in RPGs the little things are really a big thing, to learn that is. So sit down shut the fuck up and read on gentle reader. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix T: Terrain ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the world of Alfegard there are many different types of terrain, in this section I'll give you a break down of all of them, because I felt like it. Plus it's good stuff to know, so pay attention. Plains - Most of the world is made up of this, it's like the fair way in golf. Golf... What a stupid sport, you take a ball and hit it with a crooked stick, then you find the ball and hit it again. What the fuck is wrong with these people, DON'T HIT IT AGAIN, PICK IT UP AND BE GLAD YOU FOUND THE FUCKING THING YOU MORON. Plus golf takes up a huge amount of space in this country. Who needs all these golf courses? Stupid game golf is. Anyway, back to the subject at hand, plains are the best place to avoid random battles, though they'll still occur just not as often. Thick plains - This is pretty much just like the plains, however it's darker and the encounter rate for monsters is slightly higher. Forests - These are big clumps of trees. Like the Rough in golf *shakes fist* Stupid game! You're likely to get into a battle or two inside of the forests, most forests are short-cuts however, so go in them if you need Exp. or a quicker way to a place. Mountains - Mountains make you walk slow, they have about the same encounter rate as forests. However they often lead to nothing and are a pain in the ass to walk across because your character slows down. Desert - Deserts sand colored.. is that color? I dunno but if you saw one you'd know what the fuck I was talking about. Anyway these have an increased rate of encounter like forests and mountains. Swamp - These are black spaces, they usually surround caves/dungeons that have good things in them. Each step you take will deal two damage to you, unless of course you have Erdrick's armor. I believe they have around the same encounter rate as plains, though I'm not sure on that. Big mountains - These are the greyish black mountains, they prevent you from walking because they're too big. What the hell? Too big? People climb Mount Everest don't they? BAH! And "if people climb Mount Everest because it's hard, why do they go up the easy side?" - George Carlin Water - Apparently you can't swim, and are afraid of water. Some hero you are. Bridges - Every time you cross a bridge the enemies get tougher, so make sure you're ready to fuck up some monsters before you cross them. Here's a quick reference chart 0----------------------------------------------------------0 |Type of land | Encounter rate | Enemy level| Damage done? | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Desert | Moderate | Medium | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Forest | Moderate | Medium | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Plains | Low | Pussies | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Heavy Plains| Moderate | Varies | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Mountains | High | Heavy | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | B. Mountains| None | None | Nope | |-------------|----------------|------------|--------------| | Swamp | High | Heavy | Yes | 0----------------------------------------------------------0 *Bridges are excluded as there is only ever just one tile of them in the entire game. As such accurate readings could not be calculated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix C Caves and Dungeon Info ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Various Resources, I have created this section to help you with the caves and dungeon mazes. In this section you will find a Map of the dungeon, where what is, and some brief stuff on the dungeon. Some of the resources I used, were SykoBadger's awesome guide, a few Dragon Warrior Fan Sites, and the game and my own artistic ability. Let's get it going shall we? *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Erdrick's Cave *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* This will be the first cave you explore, though you really don't need to it's good experience to see what the caves will be like. There is enemies in this one however. The Cursed necklace is in this cave somewhere, I'll let you find it, because if I tell you where it is, you'll equip it, then you'll e-mail asking me how to remove the curse and to reply quickly because you can't save your game so you left your NES on, and now it's going to overheat and melt. Sorry, but I don't like e-mails like that. There is only one more, the dreaded Castle Charlock, but that's not what I'm talking about right now. The Grave of Garin is a hidden cave in the Town of Garinham, which is located in the north-western part of the game map. Inside Garinham, look to the east side, there should be a building with a door, inside said building will be a dark wall, push on this wall and you will be in the Grave of Garin. Pretty clever huh? Here in Charlock there is 3 things: Big Monsters, Erdrick's Sword and the Dragon Lord. Getting to Castle Charlock is difficult as it's on in island directly below Tantegel Castle. You'll need to get the rainbow drop, which needs the Stones of sun light and the Staff of rain. To get the Staff of rain you need the silver harp, and to fuse the stones of sunlight and the staff of rain, you'll need to have Erdrick's token, which you need Gwaelin's love to find. Damn that's a lot of things to get just for one. At any rate, Castle Charlock ISS HUUUUUGGEEEE, so I couldn't do the map by myself, as I couldn't have spent that much time on it. Also my table is slightly different in appearance. Also there is two different types of experience charts, this guide only covers one (If I had to get to level 30 twice I'd probably shoot myself). Which one you get depends on the name you enter, there is a guide about it on www.gamefaqs.com, it's pretty interesting so go check it out. *These descriptions come from Colin Moriarty's guide* LV - The level we're talking about. EXP N- The amount of experience you need to get to the prior level to the level you're on. CUR - The current amount of experience you'd have being exactly on that level. HPB - The bonus in hit points you receive. HPT - The total amount of HP you now have. MPB - The bonus in magic points you receive. MPT - The total amount of MP you now have. STRB - The bonus in strength you receive. STRT - The total amount of strength you now have, minus whatever weapon you have equipped. SPDB - The bonus in response speed you receive. SPDT - The total amount of response speed you now have. Please note: This is not exact, but it should give you a good idea of what you've got to do to get to said level. As well as what you get at the level. 0----------------------------------------------------------------------0 | LV | EXP N | CUR | HPB | HPT | MPB | MPT | STRB | STRT | SPDB | SPDT | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 1 | -- | -- | -- | 15 | -- | 0 | -- | 3 | -- | 3 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 2 | 7 | 7 | 7 | 22 | -- | 0 | 1 | 4 | -- | 3 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 3* | 16 | 23 | 2 | 24 | 5 | 5 | 2 | 6 | 2 | 5 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 4* | 24 | 47 | 7 | 31 | 10 | 15 | -- | 6 | 2 | 7 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 5 | 63 | 110 | 4 | 35 | 4 | 19 | 4 | 10 | 2 | 9 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 6 | 110 | 220 | 3 | 38 | 3 | 22 | 4 | 14 | -- | 9 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 7* | 230 | 450 | 2 | 40 | 2 | 24 | 2 | 16 | 6 | 15 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 8 | 350 | 800 | 6 | 46 | 3 | 27 | 4 | 20 | 3 | 18 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 9* | 500 | 1300| 4 | 50 | 6 | 33 | 8 | 28 | 1 | 19 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 10*| 700 | 2000| 4 | 54 | 4 | 37 | 5 | 33 | 8 | 27 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 11 | 900 | 2900| 8 | 62 | 9 | 46 | 5 | 38 | 4 | 31 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 12*| 1100 | 4000| 1 | 63 | 7 | 53 | 8 | 46 | 5 | 36 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 13*| 1500 | 5500| 7 | 70 | 5 | 58 | 4 | 50 | 7 | 43 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 14 | 2000 | 7500| 8 | 78 | 6 | 64 | 8 | 58 | 6 | 49 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 15*| 2500 |10000| 8 | 86 | 1 | 65 | 8 | 66 | 8 | 57 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 16 | 3000 |13000| 6 | 92 | 21 | 86 | 4 | 70 | 6 | 63 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 17*| 3000 |16000| 8 | 100 | 5 | 91 | -- | 70 | 6 | 69 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 18 | 3000 |19000| 15 | 115 | 7 | 98 | 13 | 83 | 5 | 74 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 19*| 3000 |22000| 15 | 130 | 6 | 104 | 2 | 85 | 2 | 76 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 20 | 4000 |26000| 8 | 138 | 12 | 116 | 5 | 90 | 2 | 78 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 21 | 4000 |30000| 11 | 149 | 6 | 122 | 3 | 93 | 2 | 80 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 22 | 4000 |34000| 9 | 158 | 10 | 132 | 2 | 95 | -- | 80 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 23 | 7000 |41000| 0 | 150 | 16 | 148 | 0 | 95 | 10 | 90 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 24 | 4000 |45000| 5 | 155 | 8 | 156 | 4 | 99 | 4 | 94 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 25 | 4000 |49000| 4 | 159 | 0 | 156 | 10 | 109 | 2 | 96 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 26 | 4000 |53000| 6 | 165 | 7 | 163 | 4 | 113 | 5 | 101 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 27 | 4000 |57000| 9 | 174 | 7 | 170 | 8 | 121 | 2 | 103 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 28 | 4000 |61000| 6 | 180 | 5 | 175 | 5 | 126 | 8 | 111 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 29 | 4000 |65000| 5 | 185 | 10 | 185 | 5 | 131 | 5 | 116 | |----|-------|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|------|------|------|------| | 30 | 535 |65535| 10 | 195 | 10 | 195 | 5 | 136 | 10 | 126 | 0----------------------------------------------------------------------0 *Indicates you learn a spell at this level ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix M: Magic ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this nifty appendix I'll go over all of the nifty magic spells with you gentle reader. You can thank me later. Each has it's own table, I was going to put it in one big giant table, but that'd be like comparing apples and oranges. And we all know apples are better. They can remove your curse in almost any town. I do believe it costs money though, so DON'T EQUIP IT STUPID!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cursed Necklace ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Rock Mountain Cave Necessary: No Cost: N/A Description: It's a cursed necklace, if you equip it, you will be cursed. They can remove your curse in almost any town. I do believe it costs money though, so DON'T EQUIP IT STUPID!!!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dragon Scale ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Tool Shops nearly anywhere Necessary: No, but it's recommended Cost: 24 Gil Description: Gives you +2 on Defense permanently, just one time, you can take it off, keep the effects and still be able to sell it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Tablet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Erdrick's Cave Necessary: No, but it's kinda cool I guess Cost: N/A it's a free show Description: A tablet that reads: " I am Erdrick and thou art my descendant. " Cool eh? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Token ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: 40 steps south, 70 steps east of Tantegel Castle (use Gwaelin's Love) Necessary: Yes Cost: N/A Description: Use this to show you are indeed a Descendent of Erdrick. This is how you get the Rainbow Drop. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fairy's Flute ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Three Steps south of well in Kol (hit search around there) Necessary: Yes Cost: N/A Description: Puts enemies to sleep. You'll need it to put the Golem to sleep so you can enter Cantlin. One toot and BOYAKA! You can whoop on the enemy who' stuck in dream land. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fairy Water ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Secret areas in Breconnary and Kol, can be bought in Cantlin Necessary: No Cost: 38 gil Description: Helps avoid enemies, I'd use this the first time you enter Charlock to get Erdrick's sword, then leave to level up. Unless of course you're going in to slay the dragon lord directly after you get the sword, in which case, use it when you feel like it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fighter's Ring ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Rock Mountain Cave Necessary: No, But recommended Cost: N/A Description: This will up your Strength and Speed by two. Provided you have it equipped. Getting it is not that difficult, and it helps you level up, plus you can grab the cursed necklace and sell it for some Gil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gwaelin's Love ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Swamp Cave Necessary: Yes Cost: N/A Description: After rescuing Princess Gwaelin, she'll give you this doo-dad, unfortunatly it isn't a condom, (if you're disappointed, you disgust me, looking at 8-bit pornography! Get out of my FAQ!!!!)..Heh, just kidding if it existed I'd probably look at it too >_>... anyway, this will help you locate Erdrick's Token. It also tells you how many steps you are from Tantegel castle and how many more Expierence you need to get to the next level, nifty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Herb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Apparently Herb was legal back in the day, cause everyone has it. Necessary: Kind of Cost: Varies Description: Heals your lost HP, and it gets you high like a kite. Speaking of Marijuana, why the hell isn't this stuff legal? It doesn't impare you half as much as alchol, so driving stoned is much easier then driving drunk. People that smoke are almost always less aggressive then those who drink. And Stoned people won't get into fights, while Bar fights are all to common. People often say, well smoking one joint is like smoking four cigerettes (harmful chemical wise). What people fail to see, is that someone smoking probably won't even finish the one joint by himself, and that'll probably be it for the day, as Marijuana isn't an addictive substance. While Tobacco has nicotine, which will cause people to smoke up to two or three packs a day. Which will kill you faster? Then there are so many things it can be used for, Hybrid forms of Gas, clothing, rope, medicine, tons of needs. Then there's all of those "Anti-drug" commercials, what the hell are these? All of them spin the facts. Like the one about the driver killing the kid in an accident. It says something like "3/4 of all reckless driver's tested are positive for marijuana". While most reckless drivers are teens, meaning, lots of teens smoke. Driving has nothing to do with smoking pot, unless you're driving stoned. Look at the facts kids, it ain't the truth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Magic Keys ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Rimulader, Cantlin and Tantegel. Necessary: Yes Cost: Varies Description: These open the doors to places, try and carry at least 5 or 6 at all times, otherwise you may have to back track to go get keys, then back to whatever you wanted in the first place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Drop ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Near Rimulader Necessary: Yes Cost: Stones of Sunlight and Staff of Rain Description: A Merge of the Stones of Sunlight and the Staff of Rain. This allows you to go the Castle Charlock and fight the Dragon Lord. This is what you've been questing so long for! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silver Harp ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: The Grave of Garin Necessary: Yes Cost: N/A Description: You give this to the descendent of the disciple of Erdrick in exchange for the Staff of rain. This exchange will take place in Kol, west of the bath. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Staff of Rain ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: West of Kol Necessary: Yes Cost: The Silver Harp Description: You can get this by giving one of Erdrick's Disciples descendents the Silver Harp. If I was the keeper of the staff of rain, I'd want a platinum harp, and a Date with the princess, that's just me though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stones of sunlight ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Tantegel Basement Necessary: Yes Cost: N/A Description: You need some magic keys to get this. It can be found in the "Hidden Basement" of Tantegel. To get there all you need to do is walk around the outside of the castle once you get some magic keys to unlock the doors in your way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Torch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Tool shops in nearly any town. Necessary: Until you get the Radiance spell. Cost: 8 gil Description: Allows you to see an extra square in dark places. I recommend you have a few, just incase your MP wears low and you need to save it for fighting some of the monsters, or healing and what not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wings ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Tool Shops in towns far from Tantegel. Necessary: No, but it speeds things up. Cost: 70 gil Description: Teleports you back to Tantegel. This is good if you need to be at work in 5 minutes but you need to save and you don't have time to walk back to Tantegel. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Shields *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Welcome to the little section on shields, an interesting note, the first time you get a shield, your sprite will also now have a shield. Not that important but I think it's pretty nifty. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 | Name | Defense Power | Cost | Where? | Rank | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Large Shield | 10 | 800g | Cantlin, Garinham | 2 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Silver Shield | 25 |14800g| Cantlin | 1 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Small Shield | 4 | 90g |Brecconary, Garinham, Kol| 3 | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Large Shield ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Garinham Cost: 800 Gil Defense Power: 10 Descriptions: Middle of the road shield, It's better then the Small shield, but it's no Silver Shield. It is the best shield you can get for your money, deal wise that is. More Bang for you buck err.. Def. power for your gil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silver Shield ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Cost: 14,800 Gil Defense Power: 25 Descriptions: This extremely overpriced shield can be found in a secret shop in Cantlin. For a whooping fourteen thousand and eight hundred kil. That's 14,000 extra gil for just ten Def. Points. I'd recommend that you not get this unless you have a stock of herbs and all the rest if the best stuff, and still have tons of money left over. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Small Shield ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where?: Breconnary, Garinham, Kol Cost: 90 Gil Defense Power: 4 Descriptions: This is definitely a purchase you should make in the early, game, it's cheap and you get a lot of well needed Defense points. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Armor *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Here's my little section on the armor in the game. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 | Name | Defense Rating| COST | Where? | Rank | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Chain Mail | 10 | 300g | Cantlin, Garinham | 4 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Clothes | 2 | 20g | Brecconary | 6 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| |Erdrick's Armor | 28 | N/A | Hauksness | 1 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Full Plate | 24 | 3000g| Cantlin, Kol, Rimuldar | 2 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Half Plate | 16 | 1000g| Garinham, Kol, Rimuldar | 3 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Leather Armor | 4 | 70g | Brecconary, Cantlin, | 5 | | | | | Garinham | | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Magic Armor | 24 | 7700g| Cantlin, Rimuldar | 2 | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chain Mail ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Garinham Cost: 300 Gil Defense Power: 10 Descriptions: I strongly recommend if you get any armor near the start of the game, that this be it. Great defensive power for a cheap price good deal indeed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clothes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Garinham Cost: 20 Gil Defense Power: 2 Descriptions: For 4 extra gill you can buy a dragon scale, and sell it back, with the effects still lasting even if you put on a different set of armor, so with that logic, you buy a Dragon scale, then equip it, un-equip it, then sell it, and BOYAKA! You got the equivalent of the Leather armor for only 24 gil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Armor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Hauksness Cost: N/A Defense Power: 28 Descriptions: This Armor is the SHIZZLE! Fo' Sure. You must fight a knight in Hauksness then search the ground for this great piece of armor. It allows you to walk over swamps without any injury, and for every step you take you regain one lost HP. IS THAT COOL OR WHAT??!?!??!oen1!1?!?1!1!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full Plate ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Kol, Rimuldar Cost: 3,000 Gil Defense Power: 24 Descriptions: If you have the money for this, I definitely recommend getting it. Though if you have a kick ass weapon, Armor won't be a concern till the end of the game. If you don't have Erdrick's armor go get that, if you can't beat the knight then come get this. Erdrick's armor is free, so if you can save 3,000 gil it will help in getting a better weapon later. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Half Plate ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Garinham, Kol, Rimuldar Cost: 1,000 Gil Defense Power: 16 Descriptions: A decently strong armor at the Beginning-mid section of the game, If you've got the money get the full-plate instead, but this well suit you fine at that point. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leather Armor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Brecconary, Cantlin, Garinham Cost: 70 Gil Defense Power: 4 Descriptions: Get the Clothes and a dragon scale instead. They're cheaper and you get the exact same defense power. Or you can "cheat" a bit, and sell the dragon scale after you equip, but you can keep the bonuses, this means you can get the power of the leather armor for only 24 gil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Magic Armor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where can it be bought or found?: Cantlin, Rimuldar Cost: 7,700 Gil Defense Power: 24 Descriptions: With the same bonus as the full plate, this is a cool armor, so why does it cost so fucking much? Well for every few steps you take you get 1 lost HP back. If you have enough money for this though, you're probably ready to go get Erdrick's armor instead. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Weapons *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Here is the section on weapons and it is the end of the item appendix, enjoy. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 | Name | Attack Power | Cost | Where? | Rank | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Bamboo Pole | 2 | 10g | Brecconary, Cantlin | 7 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Broad Sword | 20 | 1500g| Cantlin, Rimuldar | 3 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Club | 4 | 60g | Brecconary, Cantlin, | 6 | | | | | Garinham | | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Copper Sword | 10 | 180g | Brecconary, Cantlin, | 5 | | | | | Garinham, Kol, Rimuldar | | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Erdrick's Sword| 40 | N/A | Charlock Castle | 1 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Flame Sword | 28 | 9800g| Rimuldar | 2 | |----------------|---------------|------|-------------------------|------| | Hand Axe | 15 | 560g | Cantlin, Garinham, Kol, | 4 | | | | | Rimuldar | | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bamboo Stick ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where can it be bought or found?: Brecconary, Cantlin Cost: 10 Gil Attack Power: 2 Descriptions: Get this weapon first, then you can save up for the sword. Make sure you don't die or all that money will be shot to shit. At the point in the game, getting this over the Club doesn't make that much a difference. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Broad Sword ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where can it be bought or found?: Cantlin, Rimuldar Cost: 1,500 Gil Attack Power: 20 Descriptions: Pretty damn powerful, you'll want to save up and pick this weapon up as soon as it becomes available to you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Club ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where can it be bought or found?: Brecconary, Cantlin, Garinham Cost: 60 Gil Attack Power: 4 Descriptions: Ignore this weapon, get the Bamboo pole first. The Attack on both of them is so small you won't notice and you can get the copper sword which will help you PWN your enemies earlier. In the long run, the Bamboo pole pays out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copper Sword ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Brecconary, Cantlin, Garinham, Kol, Rimuldar Cost: 180 Gil Attack Power: 10 Descriptions: If you get the Bamboo pole first, you can get this much, much quicker. And since you'll be using this longer then either of those two, I highly recommending doing that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erdrick's Sword ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Charlock Castle Cost: N/A Attack Power: 40 Descriptions: Erdrick's Sword is the most powerful sword in the game. It's located in Charlock Castle, so you better be ready to face some Bad-Ass Mo' Fos' to get it. You can get it one of two ways, 1) Run in and grab it, then teleport out and run to an inn, or 2) Level up without it, then pick it up on your way to defeating the Dragon lord. Either way, you'll need to stop and get it, or you'll be screwed against the Dragon Lord. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flame Sword ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Rimuldar Cost: 9,800 Gil Attack Power: 28 Descriptions: Buy this sword before you get Erdrick's sword. It resembles the one Loki (the angel of Death) carried. It is the second most powerful weapon in the game and well worth every cent you spend on it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hand Axe ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where: Cantlin, Garinham, Kol, Rimuldar Cost: 560 Gil Attack Power: 15 Descriptions: If you don't have enough for a broad-sword, but you need something with a bit more bite, get this. That is, until you have the money for the broad-sword, then dump it quicker then a street hooker that has a penis. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix B: Beasts and Bosses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section is your place to go for info on beasts, including the amount of experience you can get from them, the gold you'll get for winning and descriptions of them, shit like that. All these baddies are listed alphabetically. Technically there is only one boss, so I didn't feel a need for a boss section, but if you look the 'ol dragonlord is in there. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Axe Knight *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 90 Gold Earned: 140 Experience Earned: 70 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Charlock Castle Base Type: Knight Description: This guy is the big guy of all the knights, he's found in Charlock Castle. That right there should tell you this guy is BAD ASS. Try to avoid him if you're on your way to fight the Dragon lord, but if you're leveling up in Charlock, teach what it means to be somebody's bitch. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Blue Dragon *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 70 Gold Earned: 150 Experience Earned: 60 Special Attacks: Breaths fire Spell(s): None Area Found: Charlock Castle Base Type: Dragon Description: This is one of the toughest the Dragon lord's got? BRING THEM ON!!!! This is the strongest of the dragons, but you probably guessed that by his location in Charlock castle. He'll spit fire at you, but give him the ol' one-two with your sword and a spell a few times and this wannabe will be down for the count. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Demon Knight *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 50 Gold Earned: 150 Experience Earned: 37 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields around Hauksness Base Type: Knight Description: Mysterious, like Break man/Proto Man in the first few mega-mans, he is often hard to hit, but you should always try as he can be worth tons of experience and gold. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* The Dragon Lord *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: about 130 Gold Earned: ? Expierence Earned: ? Special Attacks: Breathes Fire Spell(s): Hurtmore Area Found: Castle Charlock Base Type: Dragon Description: This guy is one fucking bad ass. He'll kill you twice without even blinking. He doesn't succumb to sleep spells, or hurt spells. So your best bet is just to whack at him with Erdrick's sword. Heal when you need to, but beyond that just fight until you have him pushing up daisies. Upon defeating the Dragon lord, you will get the endings. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Drakee *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 6 Gold Earned: 3 Experience Earned: 2 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields in the early areas of the game, around places like Tantegel. Base Type: Drakee Description: If your looking for early experience and gold, look for these. They don't appear too often but they give you the most experience and gold near Tantegel. They probably shouldn't be taken on at level one or two however, as they are kind of strong. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Drakeema *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 20 Gold Earned: 20 Experience Earned: 11 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Hurt Area Found: Various dungeons and caves Base Type: Drakee Description: With a name like that, I'm sure the Drakeema got made fun of a lot in schools. Anyway this thing has quite a bit of hit points, but the gold and experience are well worth fighting for. The Drakeema is a pretty powerful creature however, with the Hurt spell, it should definitely be attempted at an early level. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Droll *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 25 Gold Earned: 25 Experience Earned: 10 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Early caves and dungeons Base Type: Droll Description: The Droll? What the hell kind of name is that? I wonder if the developers meant "Troll" ...Idiots. Anyway, the Droll is a tough little thing for something found so early, try to avoid confrontations with this guy unless you have leveled up beyond the point you would have needed too. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Drollmagi *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 38 Gold Earned: 90 Experience Earned: 22 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Heal and Hurt Area Found: Late-game dungeons and caves Base Type: Droll Description: Again with the stupid name? What the hell is a Droll? Bah, the Drollmagi will put a hurt on you similar to getting an xbox dropped on your head from a high place. In other words only fight unless you are certain you can wail on this sucka, as the Gold earned ain't bad by any standard. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Druin *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 20 Gold Earned: 16 Experience Earned: 7 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Early caves and dungeons Base Type: Druin Description: This is one of those bad guys you'll see crawling around caves and dungeons a lot. He has no spells or special attacks but his regular attack is pretty tough. Try and use a spell or two to loosen him up then finish with regular attacks. This thing looks really really messed up, I'm not sure what the artist was on when he created this spooky thing. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Druinlord *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 35 Gold Earned: 85 Experience Earned: 20 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Hurt Area Found: Later-game dungeons and caves Base Type: Druin Description: This guys regular attack isn't anything special, especially for so late in the game. What you'll want to watch out for is his use of magic. The spell hurt coming from this guy is a wicked big pain in the ass. Speaking of Wicked things, how come this phrase hasn't caught on? I think it's wicked-cool to use it. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Ghost *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 7 Gold Earned: 5 Experience Earned: 3 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields around Kol and some desert areas. Base Type - Ghost Description: This guy is a wannabe like no other. One hurt or one hit from a copper sword will send this beeyotch crying to his mother. All you need to is use one of these two attacks and you should be fine. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Goldman *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 50 Gold Earned: 200 Experience Earned: 6 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: South of Rimuldar, south of Hauksness Base Type: Golem Description: The gold man is a man made of gold, as his name would imply. He is basically a big dude that likes to smack you up and you get nothing for experience for beating him. However he's worth money, shit, he's made of gold, I'm sure you could figure that out. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Golem *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 70 Gold Earned: 10 Experience Earned: 5 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Entrance to Cantlin, Charlock Castle Base Type: Golem Description: This guy isn't really the type to come out and fight you. At the Entrance to Cantlin, you put him to sleep and hack him up while he's dreaming. And in Charlock castle he doesn't really seem to be out and about. At any rate, put him to sleep with the fairy flute then collect the stingy reward he leaves behind. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Green Dragon *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 65 Gold Earned: 160 Experience Earned: 45 Special Attacks: Breathes Fire Spell(s): None Area Found: Dungeon where you rescue Princess Gwaelin, Charlock Castle Base Type: Dragon Description: Ahh, the Dragon, nature's flame-thrower. This guy is a "Boss" he protects the Princess so you can't get her. Later in the game he'll be just hanging out waiting for you to step on his neck and stab him in the face. His stats don't change through out the entire game, despite what you may think. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Knight *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 55 Gold Earned: 130 Experience Earned: 33 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Stop spell Area Found: Various fields and dungeons Base Type: Knight Description: For a knight this guy sure is a woman. He uses stop spell, which won't stop you from wailing on his ass to much of any degree. Basically all you have to do is not rely on magic in fights with this sucka, and you just got 130 gold and 33 experience. Easy as cake, or pie, or whatever delicious pastry you prefer the most. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Magician *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 13 Gold Earned: 12 Experience Earned: 4 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Hurt Area Found: North and east of Tantegel, all the way to the Kol region Base Type: Mage Description: The Magician is the bully of the early game. He'll fuck you up real quick, unless of course you're level 4. When you hit level four you learn the spell hurt, and you can give this asshole a taste of his own medicine. Hit him twice with hurt and you'll make a cool 12 cold and 4 experience, and the magician will be well, dead. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Magidrakee *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 15 Gold Earned: 9 Experience Earned: 5 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Hurt Area Found: Southern continents Base Type: Drakee Description: Like the magician, this beyotch will try to use hurt to mess you up. If you're level four, just cast hurt 2 or three times, and you'll take this sucka out of commission for good. What the hell was wrong with the developers in this game? Why are all the spells and monsters just variations of the origianl one? Hurtmore? Real creative guys, real creative. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Magiwyvern *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 58 Gold Earned: 130 Experience Earned: 34 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Sleep Area Found: Southern continents, around coastlines Base Type: Wyvern Description: One of the weakest Wyvern in the game, he goes out like a light. Now, I'm just curious, how the hell would one pronounce that name? It just doesn't look very pronounceable, lucky for the developers the NES couldn't handle words. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Metal Scorpion *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 22 Gold Earned: 40 Experience Earned: 14 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Deserts in the south Base Type - Scorpion Description: Like the Red > Blue anything, the Metal versions are the cream of the crop, the 1337 troops of the dragon lord. This guy is all muscle, no brains, he has a decent attack rating, but he's got no magic to supplement those attacks. Making fighting Metal Scorpions all out slug fests. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Metal Slime *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 4 Gold Earned: 6 Experience Earned: 115 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields around Hauksness Base Type: Slime Description: With only 5 Hit Points you'd think that the experience earned was a typo wouldn't you? Well, this little devil doesn't take light to being hit and has a enormous defense rating. He is also quite prone to running from the battle, making him an annoying pain in the ass. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Poltergeist *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 23 Gold Earned: 18 Experience Earned: 8 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Hurt Area Found: Dungeons and caves late in the game Base Type: Ghost Description: This guy is basically a ghost that can use magic, add in some superior attack and defense rating and you got yourself a pain in the ass. Though he appears later in the game, he can still cause trouble for you, until you level up a bit more that is. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Red Dragon *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 100 Gold Earned: 140 Experience Earned: 100 Special Attacks: Breathes fire Spell(s): None Area Found: Charlock Castle Base Type: Dragon Description: This is quite possible the most powerful enemy in the entire game. Well the most powerful enemy you'll see more then once, he has no spells, but he does breathe fire. He has a large amount of hit points and a rather high defense rating, which makes it a good idea to try and put him to sleep if you insist on fighting him. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Red Slime *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 4 Gold Earned: 2 Experience Earned: 1 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Everywhere, mainly around Tantegel and the northern continent Base Type: Slime Description: You can one hit kill this thing even early in that game. Unless you are unequipped or only have 1 hit point left, this thing shouldn't cause any trouble for you what so ever. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Rogue Scorpion *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 35 Gold Earned: 110 Experience Earned: 26 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Near Charlock Base Type - Scorpion Description: The Rogue scorpion is even more powerful then the metal scorpion, though he knows no spells and should only be a problem if you don't have the best weapons and armor (Edrick's stuff), or you're a too low of a level to be near charlock to begin with. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Scorpion *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 20 Gold Earned: 16 Experience Earned: 6 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Early on the southern continent Base Type: Scorpion Description: This will be one of the toughest enemies early in the game, using magic on him is a good idea if you're at a low level. If you have the copper sword or better you can easily screw this thing up with regular attacks, if you don't you can always use the fairy flute. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Skeleton *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 30 Gold Earned: 30 Experience Earned: 11 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Southern continent, early stages of the game Base Type - Skeleton Description: The Skeleton is probably the hardest non-cave enemy you'll face up against in the middle of the game. Try to put him to sleep if you have the Fairy flute, otherwise use hurt. If you have neither, you shouldn't be in the area you're in. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Slime *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 3 Gold Earned: 1 Experience Earned: 1 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields around Tantegel Base Type: Slime Description: The Slime is a wuss. It's beyond wuss, on a scale of one to ten, It's a WUSS. The thing just attacks you for 1 or 2 HP worth of damage. Too bad it doesn't give up much gold or experience. Oh well, you'll become familiar with these as you level up in the early levels of the game. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Specter *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 36 Gold Earned: 70 Experience Earned: 18 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Sleep and Hurt Area Found: Later-game dungeons and caves Base Type: Ghost Description: This guy doesn't have too many hit points so it's pretty easy to smack this bitch up. They should have called him "Sphincter" because he's just making an Ass out of himself. OMG ROFLMAO!!! *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Starwyvern *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 65 Gold Earned: 160 Experience Earned: 43 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Sleep and Healmore Area Found: Southern continent, near Charlock Base Type: Wyvern Description: Any monster with the Sleep spell is annoying, any monster with a heal spell is also annoying. Put both in one monster and you have a pain in the ass. I recommend running from these as it just isn't worth it. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Stoneman *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 160 Gold Earned: 140 Experience Earned: 65 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Charlock Castle Base Type: Golem Description: Like the Goldman, this thing has a killer amount of Hit points, lucky enough, you only find them in Charlock Castle. Try to avoid these guys unless you're at a ridiculously high level. Wasn't there a Mega Man Character named Stone Man? I think Capcom should sue... *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Warlock *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 30 Gold Earned: 35 Experience Earned: 13 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Sleep and Hurt Area Found: Fields around Charlock Base Type: Mage Description: The warlock is what a "MagiMagician" would be if the name wasn't so fucking stupid. Not like that didn't stop them on some of the other ones. This guy isn't so tough for how late in the game he's found. As long as you don't get put to sleep defeating this guy should be a breeze. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Werewolf *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hot Points: 60 Gold Earned: 150 Experience Earned: 40 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Southern continent, towards the east Base Type: Wolf Description: The Werewolf has no spells or special abilities, and a relatively low HP for a beast with that style of fighting. He's not that much a challenge, despite being the toughest wolf in the game. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wizard *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 65 Gold Earned: 165 Experience earned: 50 Special Attacks - None Spell(s): Hurtmore, Sleep Area Found: South continent towards the east Base Type: Mage Description: This f00 is something to watch out for. Though he is light on the HP, his magic can rip you a new one. Try to not fall asleep or he'll totally OWN you into death. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wolf *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 34 Gold Earned: 50 Experience Earned: 16 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area found: Fields around Rimuldar Base Type: Wolf Description: This beast can't cast spells, pretty much the only thing he can do is sit there and look like a total pud. What a loser. A few Whacks with a good sword should let this Wolf know who's the boss (IE:You). *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wolflord *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 38 Gold Earned: 80 Experience Earned: 20 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Stopspell Area Found: Fields around Rimuldar Base Type: Wolf Description: This is one of the stronger wolfs in the game, but that's not saying too much. Though he can use magic, it isn't very good, nor does it connect often. His hit points aren't too high, but his attack will seriously fuck you up. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wraith *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 36 Gold Earned: 60 Experience Earned: 17 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): Heal Area Found: Fields around Hauksness Base Type: Skeleton Description: BLARGH! Enemies with the Heal Spell are a real pain, and as if the skeleton wasn't enough of a pain, now he's stronger and has magic? That doesn't seem fair. Where's Ash and his Boom stick when you need him? *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wraith Knight *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 46 Gold Earned: 120 Experience: 28 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Southern continent Base Type: Skeleton Description: The Wraith knight is the most powerful skeleton in the game. Though he doesn't have any spells, his hits are pretty big and can fuck you up reaaaal quick. Steer clear of this bad mamer jamer. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Wyvern *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Hit Points: 42 Gold Earned: 100 Experience Earned: 24 Special Attacks: None Spell(s): None Area Found: Fields around Rimuldar on the coastline Base Type: Wyvern Description: The Wyvern is somewhat a pain in the ass. Though because he doesn't have any spells or special attacks, he could be much worse. Try to be at a decent level before you attempt to take out one of these Bad MoFos. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Appendix F: Town Folk Sayings ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Appendix is all the crap all of the people say, most of it is useless crap, but I'll let you weed through it and find the important shit. Why? Because my opinion and yours on what is important is probably different. It'll go town by town, so you know where the people say what. Anything in parenthesis is my little smart ass remark on what the person just said. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Tantagel Castle *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* King Lorik - "Descendant of Erdrick, listen now to my words. It is told that in ages past, Erdrick fought demons with a Ball of Light. Then came the Dragonlord who stole the precious globe and hid it in the darkness. Now, [you], thou must help us recover the Ball of Light and restore peace to our land. The Dragonlord must be defeated. Take now whatever thou may find in these Treasure Chests to aid thee in thy quest. Then speak with the guards, for they have much knowledge that may aid thee. May the light shine upon thee, [your name]." (Make Me) Guard -1 - "Dost thou know about Princess Gwaelin?" If you answer "yes" then he will say "[Your name], please save the Princess." If you answer "no" then he will say, "Half a year now hast passed since the princess was kidnapped by the enemy. Never does the King speak of it, but he must be suffering much. [Your name], please save the princess." (oooh I wish I give'd a shit.) Guard -2 - "East of this castle is a town where armor, weapons, and many other items may be purchased. Return to the Inn for a rest if thou are wounded in battle, [Your name]. Sleep heals all." (No shit) Guard -3 - "If thou hast collected all the Treasure Chests, a key will be found. Once used, the key will disappear but the door will be open and thou may pass through." (This isn't exactly top secret knowledge) Guard -4 - "King Lorik will record thy deeds in his Imperial Scroll so thou may return to thy quest later." (Just say "Save the game here" is that so difficult?) Guard -5 - "If thou are planning to take a rest, first see King Lorik." (Isn't that what the other oh so smart guard just said?) Guard -6 - "Thou must have a key to open a door." (Oh, I thought If I just banged my head on it enough it would magically open) Guard -7 - "When entering the cave, take with thee a torch." (You can use a spell instead, provided you have it) Guard -8 - "Where oh where can I find Princess Gwaelin?" (Did you look up your butt?) Guard -9 - "Welcome to Tantagel Castle." (Is the sign broken?) Guard -10 - "Welcome to Tantagel Castle." (Is there an Echo in here?) Man -1 - "There was a time when Brecconary was a paradise. Then the Dragonlord's minions came." (Now it's a crack house) Man -2 - "To become strong enough to face future trials, thou must first battle many foes." (Make me) Woman -1 - "Where oh where can I find Princess Gwaelin?" (Did you try looking up your butt?) Old Man -1 - "[Your name]'s coming was foretold by legend. May the light shine upon this brave warrior." (Is that the light off your bald head?) [After Gwaelin's Rescue...] King - "Forever shall I be grateful for the gift of my daughter returned to her home, [Your name]. Accept my thanks. Now Gwaelin, come to my side." (Give me a reward you stingy bastard) Princess - "Wait a moment, please. I would like to give a present to [Your name]. Please accept my love, [Your name]. Even when we two are parted by great distances, I shall be with thee. Farewell, [Your name]" (Girl's a slut BOOONG) Guard -1 - "Oh brave [Your name]." (What do you want an autograph or something?) Guard -2 - "A word of advice. Save thy money for more expensive armor." (No shit) Guard -3 - "Listen to what people say. It can be of great help." (That's just not true, a good example is this guy) Guard -4 - "Oh my dearest Gwaelin! I hate thee, [Your name]." (TRAITER!) Guard -5 - "If thy hit points are high enough, by all means, enter." (What if they aren't?) Guard -6 - "Never does a brave man steal," (This one does) Woman -1 - "Thank you for saving the princess." (How bout a reward sweet cheeks?) Woman -2 - "When the sun and rain meet, a Rainbow Bridge shall appear. It's a legend." (You know what else is a legend? the size of my Schlong) Red Knight -1 - "In Garinham, look for the grave of Garin. Thou must push on a wall of darkness there." (HOLY SHIT! Someone said something important) Red Knight -2 - "I am looking for the castle cellar. I heard it is not easily found." (There's too much innuendo there) Old Man -1 - "Let us wish the warrior well! May the light be thy strength." (How bout you just give me some money instead?) *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Town of Brecconary *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Man -1 - "Thou art most welcome in Brecconary." (The sign must be broken) Man -2 - "Go north to the seashore, then follow the coastline west until thou hath reached Garniham." (Better instructions then I gave.) Man -3 - "Enter where thou can." (Is he suggesting I sodomize him?) Man -4 - "Within sight of Tantagel Castle to the south is Charlock, the fortress of the Dragonlord." (OOOHHH I wish I gived a shit) Man -5 - "There is a town where magic keys can be purchased." (There's actually 3 dipshit) Woman -1 - "Welcome! Enter the shop and speak to its keeper across the desk." (What do you think I'm retarded? I know how a shop works) Woman -2 - "No, I am not Princess Gwaelin." (I didn't ask) Old Man -1 - "Watch thy Hit Points when in the Poisonous Marsh." (No shit) Old Man -2 - "If thou art cursed, come again." (come to this guy if you accidently put on a cursed item) Green Man -1 - "Please save us from the minions of the Dragonlord." (I will, for a price..) Guard -1 - "Tell King Lorik that the search for his daughter hath failed. I am almost gone..." (tell him yourself you lazy sack) Red Knight -1 - "Many have been the warriors who have perished on this quest. But for thee, I wish success, [Your name]." (Because we all get what we want) Red Knight -2 - "Art thou the descendant of Erdrick? Hast thou any proof?" (Another person in fear of identity theft) *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Town of Garinham *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Old Man -1 - "Garin, a wandering minstrel of legendary fame, is said to have built this town." (Minstrels were story tellers, so I don't believe this at all, wouldn't a carpenter have built this town?) Old Man -2 - "Many believe that Princess Gwaelin is hidden away in a cave." (This is the reason you don't talk to the people, waste of time) Red Knight -1 - "I've heard of one named Nester. Dost thou know such a one?" (This guy must be important) Man -1 - "It is said that the Princess was kidnapped and taken eastward." (Wow, that isn't vague or anything) Woman -1 - "Welcome to Garinham. May thy stay be a peaceful one." (They really need a new town slogan) [After Gwaelin's rescue...] Old Man -1 - "They say that Erdrick's armor was hidden long ago." (Yes but you shall find it, with my help) Old Man -2 - "The harp attracts enemies. Stay away from the grave in Garinham." (Reverse psychology works wonders) Green Man -1 - "I suggest making a map if thy path leads into the darkness." (Good idea, there's one found at Gamefaqs.com) Guard -1 - "I'm too busy. Ask the other guard." (Lazy sacks of shit) Guard -2 - "I'm too busy. Ask the other guard." (Lazy sacks of shit) Man -1 - "Once there was a town called Hauksness far to the south, but I do not know if it still exists." (It's a ghost town now) Woman -1 - "I hate people! Go! Leave me!" (You'll hate them a lot more If I stab you in the face bitch) *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Village of Kol *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Old Man -1 - "This is the village of Kol." (I guess the sign is broken here too) Old Man -2 - "In legends, it is said that fairies know how to put Golem to sleep." (This guy is telling you that the fairy flute will take out the Golem guarding Cantlin) Old Man -3 - "Though thou art as brave as thy ancestor, [Your name], thou cannot defeat the great Dragonlord with such weapons. Thou shouldst come here again." (You do not have the weapons to beat the dragon lord) Man -1 - "Dreadful is the south island. Great strength and skill and wit only will bring thee back from that place." (Wuss) Man -2 - "Art thou a descendant of Erdrick? Hast thou any proof?" (Identity theft must have been wide spread in these days) Red Knight -1 - "East of Hauksness there is a town, 'tis said, where one may purchase weapons of extraordinary quality." (I could have told you that) Red Knight -2 - "Hast thou seen Nester? I think he may need help." (I have no idea what this guy is talking about) Woman -1 - "This bath cures rheumatism." (this is where the flute is) Green Man -1 - "Hast thou been to the southern island?" You can answer "yes" or "no". If you answer "no" he will say, "To the south, I believe, there is a town called Rimuldar." If you say "yes" he will say, "I've heard that powerful enemies live there." (Nothing of importance here) [After Gwaelin's Rescue...] Old Man -1 - "Has thou found the flute?" If you answer "yes" then he'll tell you to, "Go to the town of Cantlin." If you answer "no" he'll tell you that, "Howard had it, but he went to Rimuldar and never returned." (This guy forshadows the Golem in front of Cantlin, you need the flute to get past it) *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Town of Rimuldar *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Man -1 - "I am Orwick, and I am waiting for my girlfriend." (Liar) Man -2 - "Art thou a descendant of Erdrick? Hast thou any proof?" (People are so skeptical in this game) Man -3 - "Heed my warning! Travel not to the south for there the monsters are fierce and terrible." (Heh...I have a fierce and terrible monster down south too >_>) Green Man -1 - "Welcome!" (Welcome to what?) Woman -1 - "No, I have no tomatoes. I have no tomatoes today." (What the fuck are you talking about lady?) Woman -2 - "Before long the enemy will arrive." Red Knight -1 - "The scales of the Dragonlord are as hard as steel." Red Knight -2 - "You are [Your name]? It has been long since last we met." Red Knight -3 - "Is that a wedding ring? Thou seems too young to be married." Red Knight -4 - "In this world is there any sword that can pierce the scales of the Dragonlord?" Guard -1 - "Thou shalt find the Stones of Sunlight in Tantegel Castle if thou has not found them yet." Old Man -1 - "Over the western part of this island, Erdrick created a rainbow. 'Tis also said that he entered the darkness from a hidden entrance in the room of the Dragonlord." Old Man -2 - "This is a magic place. Hast thou found a magic temple? If you answer "yes" he says, "In this temple do sun and rain meet." If you say "no" he says, "Go to the south." Old Man -3 - "Good day, I am Howard. Four steps south of the bath in Kol thou shalt find a magic item." (This is important, that is if you haven't already got the fairy flute) *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Town of Cantlin *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Guard -1 - "Welcome to Cantlin, the castle town." (Are all the signs broken?) Guard -2 - "It is said that many have held Erdrick's armor. The last to have it was a fellow named Wynn." (What's your point?) Guard -3 - "'Tis said that the Dragonlord hath claws that can cleave iron and fiery breath that can melt stone. Doth thou still wish to go on? If you answer "yes" he'll say, "Thou art truly brave," and if you say "no" he'll say, "That is good. No one will say thou art afraid." (I would say thou art a pussy) Woman -1 - "I know nothing," (LIAR!!) Woman -2 - "What shall I get for thy dinner?" (Burritos, I love a Good Burrito) Old Man -1 - "To learn how proof may be obtained that thy ancestor was the great Erdrick, see a man in this very town." (Hmm, the DMV must be here) Old Man -2 - "'Tis said that Erdrick's sword could cleave steel." (Nifty) Old Man -3 - "Let us wish the warrior well! May the light be thy strength! Thou may go and search. From Tantegel Castle travel 70 leagues to the south and 40 to the east." (These are coordinates to something...) Green Man -1 - "My grandfather Wynn once had a shop on the east side of Hauksness." (Hmm, the last guy who had the armor was named wynn, what does that tell you about the location of the armor?) Green Man -2 - "Grandfather used to say that his friend, Wynn, had buried something of great value at the floor of a tree behind his shop." (Like the last guy, this is important) Man -1 - "I'm Nester. Hey, where am I? No, don't tell me!" (somehow, I don't think this is really nester) Well that's it, you've been through the entire game, you now know just as much as I do, lucky you.
