You probably don't want to know too much about me, but I have some free time so I might as well write a small introductions. Besides, what's the harm? You don't have to read it if you don't want to. Anyway, my gamefaqs contributor name is ieatdirttoo. Don't laugh, as there are MUCH worse names I could have picked. My real name is David Donaldson. I live in Hazelwood Missouri, in Saint Louis County. Im fourteen years old (Laugh if you want too, ha ha ha). I am currently in my freshman year of highschool. My first console was a Genesis, which I recieved way back in 1998. At first I didn't really grasp the concept. Sure, I played usually an hour day the most, but I never really got into it. Three years later, in August of 2001, I bought the new slim version of the Playstation. This is what really got me into playing. I absolutly loved the thing, and I played up till late 2002. Around Christmas I got my Playstion 2, which threw me further into the video game phenomon. I have at least 50 games for it, though I have traded in quite a bit. For a year and half I played the crap out of my Playstation 2. I was actually what some would call a fanboy to Sony. This all changed in July of 2004 when I bought the mighty Xbox. THIS, is what really fine tuned my intreset in gaming. I have five faq/walkthroughs, three of them being for Xbox games. Finally, in late April, I bought my Gamecube along with Resident Evil 4. I have a total of nine contributions currently posted. Five full walkthroughs and four in depth guides. My full guides are for the following games: Manhunt, Max Payne 2, Call of Duty, Call of Duty United Offensive, and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. My other guidese are for LOS: Vietnam, MOH: Allied Assault and Riddick (three contributions for that game). /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |1.02- Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay Review | [102RR] | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Face it, most licensed movie games our pretty bad. That’s exactly what I thought when I heard this game was coming out. It was not until I turned on my TV and started watching a special on this game that I realized this game is different. I went and bought the game and was amazed at how good the game was. Very realistic graphics, awesome gameplay, and a great story turned me Into a fan of the franchise. Gameplay: 9/10 Most FPS are really repetitive. This one is different. While you get a variety of guns and melee weapons to use, stealth is key to the gameplay. You can still go in guns blazing ready to kill, but sometimes you will have to sneak around to get through the level. This mix of a FPS and a Stealth game create come really innovative gameplay. The only problem is that you can’t choose which style of gameplay you want to use. Most situations will force you to use a specific style, which can be rather annoying. Overall the gameplay is exciting and faced paced, but being forced to switch back and forth between gamplay styles really stinks. Graphics: 9/10 These graphics are truly revolutionary. They are almost equivilant to the upcoming DOOM 3. Just the detail was enough to make me hooked to the game. The real time facial expressions helped create life like communication. The reflections and lighting is accurate and super realistic. The shadows believe it or not, are really what make the graphics awesome. They just look so darn real and accurate it’s amazing. Almost everything has a shadow, and they move very precisely. And even though this may sound a little weird, the gore is done well too. Now, you might be wondering why I gave it a 9/10, here is the reason. This game runs on a rather low resolution. During some of the cut scenes the lines are so jaggy its ridicules. The character models are pretty jaggy as well. If you have a super sharp TV, this may not be a problem, but for people out there with normal tvs, it can be a real pain. While overall the game usually does keep up its resolution high, when it does get bad it looks horrible. There is also some blurriness here and there. Sound: 10/10 The sound in this game is awesome. At key moments it will adjust to a more faced paced excited tune. The character voices are top-notch. Vin Diesel performs superbly. The other actors provided voices too, and were equally as great. The gunfire and stealth attack noises are accurate and exciting. The game does not however support custom soundtracks, which is a bummer. The music usually has a creepy vibe to it, further enhancing the excitement. Controls: 9/10 The Xbox controller suites this game very well. It seems like all the buttons are layed out in the best order possible. It has the standard controls of a Xbox FPS, with a few tweaks here or there. The only problem is that aiming can be a little difficult because you can’t move fast. You can’t really zoom that far either.Overall the controls are well suited for this game. Playtime: 7/10 This is probably one of the only flaws in this game. It’s simply too short. You’re probably not gonna rack out more than 10 hours playing time, if you reach that much. If your good enough, you most likely can have this game beat with only 6 hours of playing time. The game is split up into 3 parts, Max Security, Double Max, and Triple Max. There are 36 chapters as well. Reliability: 9/10 Considering the amazing graphical achievement this game has accomplished, it runs pretty good. You may get a little slowdown here and there, but it usually runs at 25+fps. If too much slowdown occurs, the game will tone down the picture quality and make things blurry. The Xbox is indeed a powerful system, and it runs really good on it. Overall: 9/10 /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |1.03- Legal Information | [103LE] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Listed below are the current sites that can use my faqs. The walkthrough is now full completed and covers chapters One through Thirty Six. I have not included the second chapter in the walkthrough, as it doesn't really need a walkthrough. The cigarette section, after around two hours of work, is finally done, well at least to my knowledge. All of the sub sections are fully completed exluding the enemies section wills till lacks a few of the tougher foes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 1.01-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The entire faq is now reorganized to prevent confusion. I personally found my old format to horrible and difficult to navigate. The new format, which is based of Rarusk's faq is much easier to read and is less confusing. The Table of Contents has also been revamped to make it easier to find what you are looking for. I modified the ASCII title so that it looks more like the actual cover text. I added a few more sources into the credits section and fixed minor errors. Overall the faq has been totally reorganized. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 1.1-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Several additional enemies have been added to the Enemies section. I also put in more info on the ones already there. There is a brand new Characters section to give a little insight about the people you meet. Recently I realized that I had no existing section telling you how to do basic tasks such as jumping and climbing on ledges. Thus the Game Basics section was born. I also added several new controller configurations. The weapon section has also been modified slightly. Chapter 36 has been recomposed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 1.2-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boy what a bid update. I have included chapter 2, which previoudly had no walkthrough making this guide completly done. The Cigarette section is now completly finished despite my previous statment. I recieved several emails informing me that I was missing a few packs, which have all been added. The enemies section is now completly finished. The previous version only included 3/4 of human foes and no creatures. It is now completly updated. I have once again modified the weapons section slightly and it is now complete. The rating is now in the form of a 1-5 star scale rather than a simple 1/10 scale. Gamershell has been added the approved site list in the legal information section. The Fighting tactics section is now completly finished. I added a few more additional techniques for killing your enemies. Several errors in the walkthroughs have been fixed. Must have gotten lazy. The Game Basics section is now completly done. Also, the long awaited side quest section is now completed and posted. I have had at least 25+ emails since this guide was first posted for info on the side quests. A new Legal Notice has been posted along with my new email addresse [I switched ISP's]. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 1.b-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Characters section is now completely redone. While reading through the guide I noticed that the descriptions where very ppor and the speling was horrible, so I fixed it. The new legal notice is up and I have recomposed the entie introduction section so that it is a well organized document rather than a jumbled mess of paragraphs. I added the partially complete "General Tips" section. Lately this faq has really becoming popular. On December 24th 2004 it recieved 650 hits instead of the normal 200. This is most likely due to the release of "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay Directors Cut" for the PC. I have added a new section dubbed "Directors Cut Edition" to explain some of the differences. I also changed all the subheadings from having an underscore to "=" and all of the other headings to "-". This makes things much easier to find, and I would like to thank everyone for their cooperation. I must apologize that it was so unorganized, I guess my lazy nature cought up with me. I noticed this when viewing the faq in Firefox. Additionally I recomposed the review of this game. In order to improve the spelling I stripped down the guide then copy and pasted each section into Microsoft word then ran spellcheck. I guess I never realized how crappy of a Speller I really am. In addition it is worth noting that the last update was dubbed as 1.2C. That was in fact incorrect and the real number should have been 1.2b, which it now is. I also realized that one of the updates was to small to be considered "Major". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 1.2c-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have decided to slowly rewrite the entire faq. Each chapter in the walkthrough will be recomposed. If you look in the Table of Contents you can already tell which chapters have been redone by the "revised" text to the right. Once all of the chapters are completed the guide will be dubbed as version 2.0. First Max is entirely redone, making the faq 1/3 down the road to the next version. I greatly appreciate your patience. Slowly but surely I am trying to make this faq both less confusing and easier to use. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 2.0-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally it is here. The entirely redone version of my faq/walkthrough is finished. This was my first faq, and when it was first completed my writing skills were very poor. Naturally after two more walkthroughs they have incresed a significant amount. Hopefully the new version is easier to use than the previous ones. This will most likely be the last time I add new content to the faq [Note I did not say I would not update it]. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 2.1-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have reorganized the entire faq/walkthrough for the second time. The format is no longer based off of Rarusks but rather one of my own creation. The General Information section has been split in half. Any information that had to do with the game is now in a section dubbed "Game Information". Information on the faq or anything else stayed in the General Information section. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 2.2-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I added new headers that stretch all the way across the screen. Not only does this add an additional 20k of wasted space but it also makes chapters easier to recognize. I also have a new introduction, legal informations section, and contact information. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <-Version 2.4-> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the first time in the faqs history (eight months) I have changed the ASCII title. This looks much better to me. Everything is much more smooth and looks pretty awesome. I redesigned the Table of Contents (gave that some ascii love as well) so that it looks much neater. It's easier to see your files now as well. The update is primarily based of of A I e x's MGS3 faq. /===========================================================================\ 0=============================================================================0 |2) Game Information | [02GIN] | 0=============================================================================0 \===========================================================================/ /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.01- Game Basics | [201GB] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ------ Health ------ How much health Riddick has is determined by the amount of blocks displayed in the upper left corner. The game starts you out with only four blocks, but by end you should have eight [As long as you follow along with the faq]. When you are damaged one of these small blocks will turn red. The darker tone the red is the more you are damaged. Ex: If you are skinned by a pistol bullet the block will turn pink and slightly decrease, but if you are hit head on by a shotgun the block will turn dark red and become smaller. As I just said the more damage you take the smaller the blocks will get. Each time you recieve damage a block will get smaller moving to the left. By standing in place you will regain ONE block of health as long as it is still intact. However dont expect to be regaining all your health. If you lose that block its gone until you get to a Nano-Med station. Not that this should matter much considering health goes by pretty fast. Riddick is pretty damn weak for being the playable character in this genre. On Easy is still pretty tough, but on normal and hard he is almost naked. Most FPS allow you take multiple hits before dying, and while this game is no acception it also doesnt allow you to take 300 rounds from a machine gun like in Call of Duty. In order to stay alive I recommend using a simple yet very usefull technique. Say you are in an intense firefight and you have five and a half blocks. Duck in the corner and wait for your block to heal. Now go back into the fight. If you take any more damage slip back behind cover ----------------- Nano-Med Machines ----------------- How do you refill your life? Instead of taking the easy way out by placing health packets everywhere like in most games Tigon Studios decided to use "Nano-Med Stations". What is a Nano-Med station? Its a stationary metal box that injects a sharp needle into your neck. These needles inject healing fluid into your body and restore four health blocks. These can be refilled with capsules spread out around the various levels. Four special Nano-Med stations are spread out through the game. These not only refill your health, but increase the maximum amount of blocks by one. The locations of these are found in the walkthrough as you go along. Dont miss them! Nano-Med machines are pretty simple. Thet are a two colored large metal box with a shade of red or black depending on which section fo the prison you are in. The have a four box display in the upper left corner to indicate how much life is left in them. ---------------- Jumping/Climbing ---------------- Beleive it or not, there is actually some platforming involved in this game. For the most part however jumping and climbing is pretty simple. You grab onto ledges and crates by pressing the X button while near them. In order to jump you simply press the A buttion. Riddick is able to pull himself up on pretty much anyting within his range. As said before you do have to climb things alot, especially in Double Max. Riddick will also have to Shimmy a little. What I mean is he will have to move to the left or right when hanging/standing on a ledge. You will also have to cross several ladders in the attempt to finish the game. In order to this simply look at the selected ladder and press X. Riddick will jump up and grab onto the ladder. Press Up and Down on the thumbstick to move forwards and backwards. Keep in mind that you can be damaged if you fall from high off the ground. ------------ Melee Combat ------------ Hand to Hand, or melee, is the most common method of fighting early in the game. No matter what the curcumstances you can always use your fists to fight off an enemie. However you can significantly increase your chances of winning by equipping one of the many melee weapons. Almost every melee weapon has several "moves" that can be done with it. Melee combat is the most common early in the game. There are many differant punches and jabs that you can perform. In order to perform a certain attack you must press the right button in the direction you want the weapon to swing and press the attack button [By default its the right trigger]. If you can perform two attacks faste enough you will do a combo attack. These are fast and often confuse your opponent. Being able to execute combo attacks is vital to your progress in the game. Here is the list of moves you are abot to perform. Right Jab <> Right Trigger + Right Left jab <> Right Trigger + Left Uppercut <> Right Trigger + Down Heavy Punch <> Right Trigger + Up Left/Right Combo <> Right Trigger + Left then Right Block <> Left Trigger As said before, Melee Combat is mostly used in the beggining of the game. Though you run into a time near the middle where it is important, for the most part it is obsolete. 2 of 3 bosses in this game will be fought with melee combat. Melee combat is the first thing introduced to you in the game besides stealth kills and how to move. Even though its used scarcely, that doesnt mean it cant be a ***** to win in a melee fight. Rust and Bam are noteworthy for being extremely hard. --------------- Stealth Attacks --------------- Unlike most action oriented shooters, this game requires you to use a significant amount of stealth. Hopefully you know what stealth is, but if you don't Ill give you a brief explination. Stealth is a term which is defined as "quiet" or "sneaky". What I mean is that stealth basically means to move around without alerting the guards. Riddick can perform special stealth kills in order to take out his foes at ease without alerting their allies. In order to "stealth kill" someone several conditions must be met. The subject must have his back turned and not be aware of your presence. You must be in "stealth mode" [Press the left thumbstick down] to perform the kill. Sneak up right behind the guard. There are two ways to stealth kill a guard. If you press the right trigger Riddick will perform a rushed stealth kill. This is louder than the other one but quicker too. If you press the left trigger Riddick will grab on to the targets neck. You must now tap the X buttion repeatidly until Riddick performs the stealth kill. This is quieter than the rushed method but slower as well. If you dont have a melee weapon but you do have a gun you can still perform a stealth kill. Simply press the left trigger and Riddick will swing the but of the gun. Use this attack on a guards back to take him out instantly. In the course of the game you will use stealth about 50% of the time. Mostly in First and Double Max. All melee weapons with the exception of the club can be used to perform a stealth kill. All guns can perform a stealth kill as well, though the assault rifle one is the coolest. Use stealth whenever you can, because chances are its better than running out into the open and shooting everything. Its especially usefull on the hard difficulty. -------- REVERSAL -------- The reversal is a simple yet effective move in which you can both steal a gun and dispatch the owner. Its very usefull when you need to kill a guard but his patroll pattern prevents you from stealth killing him. In order to do a reversal just follow these quick steps. Whenever you walk up to a guard that has a gun chances are he is going to wack you with it. Right before the butt of the gun hits you press the Right Trigger. Riddick will grab the gun and shoot the guard just below the chin. ------- SNIPING ------- s If you have played through the game and your looking at the title of this section your probably wondering what the hell Im talking about. When I first got this game I was slightly dissapointed when I found out their was no sniper rifle. After playing through the games a few times I realized by using the Zoom button [Default Black] with either the gun or the assault rifle is a great substitute for a sniper rife. Sniping in general is pretty simple. The basic concept is to take out an enemie without him being close enough to kill you. One shot to the head with any weapon, even the pistol will kill a guard instantly. That being you should always aim for the upper body in any firefight. But whenever you are a good distance away I recommend lining up the crosshair and getting that one shot kill. Once the guard is down he cannot alert any of his buddies nor can he attack you. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.02- Weapons | [202WE] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Fists | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Catagory - Melee Ammunition - N/A Magazine Size - N/A Special Abilities - N/A Time Duration - Entire Game Damage - * Range/Lunge - ** Accuracy - N/A Weapon Description: You fists are mainly used in one-on-one duels with other inmates in the begining of the game. While more efficient than fists, the Shiv tends to become obsolete really fast. You can also perform a gruesome stealth attack with this weapon. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Club | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Catagory - Melee Ammunition - N/A Magazine Size - N/A Special Abilities - N/A Time Duration - Double Max Damage - **** Range/Lunge - *** Accuracy - N/A Weapon Description: The Club comes in several different forms, but when it comes down to shear hard facts, its relatively the same. A "Club" is basically a home made prison tool that resembles a bat. It is usually made out of metal but can be constructed with other materials. The Club can be swung in four different directions just like most melee weapons. THis is probably the deadliest melee weapon in the game, so use it to the fullest. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - KnuckleDuster | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Catagory - Melee Ammunition - N/A Magazine Size - N/A Special Abilities - N/A Time Duration - First and Double Max Damage - *** Range/Lunge - ** Accuracy - N/A Weapon Description: This is roughly the same as the Shiv, though it obviously is not a blade. The knuckleduster is perfect when you need alot of power while not sacrificing agility. You can perform the same moves as with fists only with alot more damage. You can block other knuckledusters as well. This weapon is usefull in the begining of the game, but just like all melee weapons it becomes obsolete one introduced to the first gun. High damage and the best accuracy in the game make this my favorite weapon. Since it doesn't show up much in the game, I advise you to use this weapon to its full potential. This weapon is especially great for head shots. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Shotgun | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Category: - Pump Action Clip Size - 8 rounds Time used - The Whole game Ammunition Type - 7mm Buckshot Special Abilities - Flashlight Damage - ******** Range - **** Accuracy - * Value - ***** Description: This is your stander shotgun. It fires a buckshot which spreads several bb's and therefore increasing your chances of hitting the target, as long as your close. If you try to shoot people from long range, you will have to hit them multiple times to kill them(if you even hit them at all). This is probably the second most common weapon found in the game. Its pretty usefull against light guards and creaturs(dwellers and Xeno). For Double Max Guards and Medium Guards you will want to use the assault rifle. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Prototype Assault Rifle | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Category: - Automatic Rifle Clip Size - 14 Rounds Time Used - End of Double Max Ammunition Type - 9mm MTT bullets Special Abilities - Flashlight Damage - ******** Range - ******* Accuracy - ******* Value - ***** Description: This was the prototype for the Assault rifle. Overall this is a good weapon, but it has one huge problem. It only hold 14 rounds. Compared to the Assault Rifle that holds 36, this factor can be very annoying. The Firing Rate is actually doubled for this weapon, making it even harder to conserve ammo for. The specs are all the same as the normal Assault rifle, so no worry's there. The glass display is also cracked, meaning you have no idea how many rounds you have left. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Assault Rifle | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Category: - Automatic Rifle Clip Size - 36 Rounds Time Used - First Max Ammunition Type - 9mm MTT bullets Special Abilities - Flashlight Damage - ********* Range - ******** Accuracy - ******** Value - **** Description: This is probably one of the best weapons in the game. It has the best firing rate in the game, but also is accurate and does excellent damage. This weapon can be used to take out anything under riot guards. Most guards carry this weapon. It uses a glass display to tell you how many bullets you have left. You will most likely be using this weapon the entire time you have it. 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |Weapon - Tranq Gun | 0------------------------------------------------------------------------------0 Category: - Electric Shock Clip Size - Unlimited Time Used - 2nd half of Double Max Ammunition Type - Non Lethal Electric Stun Special Abilities - Stand over your victim and press L to kill them Damage - * Range - ******* Accuracy - ******* Value - *** Description: This weapon was not intended to be lethal. This weapon can take care of anything all the way up to medium guards. It fires off a 4000 round clip that just annihalates anything in its way. You should mainly use this to destroy riot guards, but it takes care of anything else. The only problem is that you can aim. You can only shoot forward. It also is heavy, which means Riddick will have to walk slowly while lugging this thing around. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.03- Enemies | [203EN] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INMATES -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Shiv, Club, Knuckleduster, Fists Intelligance: Stupid Description: As said in the manual, prison is a kill-or-be-killed place, so your not the only murderer. Inmates are found in almost every level of the game. They usually are weaponless, but the carry a variety of home made prison weapons which they use to there full potential. Inmates in Maximum Security will be less aggresive and more cooparative with you considering they are afraid of you. Inmates in double max will be meaner and more aggresive towards you. Inmates in third max are paralyzed dummys that wont talk or move. Inmates are really stupid. they wont follow you when you run or use varied tactics. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MECHANICS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Screwdriver, Knuckleduster, Assault Rifle, Gun Intelligance: Average Description: Mechanics are rare enemys scattered across the game. They are dressed in uniforms similar to inmates. They are unarmored weak and just thrown in here and there for support. They carry screwdrivers and shivs most of the time, but they can carry guns. In the very beggining one even carrys an assault Rifle. As for intelligence, they are pretty smart. Since they usually no gun when they see they will just run out charging try to beat you up. When they do have guns they act pretty much like any other guard. You know, Shoot to kill then seek and destroy. It seems like MEchanics are just put in the game as support. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAXIMUM SECURITY LIGHT GUARD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Gun Intelligance: Average Description: These are non-armored guards payed mostly to walk around and monitor prisoners. They usually wont be aggresive, but if you get in there way they wont hesitate to pump you with 38 rounds out of there assault rifles. They are mostly found in the beggining of first max but are also located in random locations in double and triple max. They have pretty good aim, and use the gun most of time when out of first max. Despite how they look, they are pretty smart. They will seek you out when you flee, Actually try to kill you rather than just standing around. They also will kill you on site if they see you with a weapon classified as lethal(shivs, tranq guns, ect.). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOUBLE-MAX LIGHT GUARD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Assault Rifle, Shotgun Intelligance: Smart Description: These are the most common enemy in the game. Unlike the Max Security guards these boys are armored and tough. Dont walk to close unless you want the butt of a rifle in you face. They mostly use Assault Rifles but will use shotguns from time to time. They are tough and intelligant. Unlike other guards they follow you and dont let you recharge your health. You will see alot of these guards. Mostly in Double Max, but they are also common in Maximum and Triple Max too. These guards are much smarter than there unarmored counter parts. They use tactics and work together to force you out of hiding. There assaul rifles also have flashlights on them, making the dark alot less protective. These enemys are generally hard, but not as tough as some other enemys. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIGHT GUARDS SQUAD LEADERS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Assault Rifle, Gun, Shotgun Intelligance: Very Smart Descripition: These low armored fighters lead there men into battle. They wear the samearmor as Abbott, but are very weak. There armor is not as thick as a DoubleMax guard, and they tend to have bad aim. They are found in all three securitysettings, but are probably the most least common enemy in the game. They arefast runners however since they are wearing less armor. Most of the time they fight with Assault rifles like every othe guard. These guys are extremly smart, but It is all put to waste since they cannot defend themselves properly. Since they lead guards in battle they must be intelligent. They also use the normal gun to there advantage. The only personn you will probably find a gun on is this guy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RIOT GUARDS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Minigun Intelligance: Dumb Descroption: These guards are assigned specifically to attend to riots and escaped convicts. They carry a minigun, the best gun in the game. There armor is nearly impossible to penetrate except for the paneling on there back. They are found in every sectin of the game, escpecially at the end of double max. When you kill them they drop the minigun, which is the only thing that is effective against them. Always aim for there back and they will die quickly, but if you have a minigun just load them full of lead in any part of there armor. Despite how strond they are, they are pretty dumb. It may just be because of there lack of agility, but they behave oddly. Try this. When find a riot guard let him notice you. Go behind him then just keep circling him. He will slowly turn towards you, but you will already be behind him again. Kinda fun. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEAVY GUARDS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Minigun Intelligance: Smart Decription: These are some bad asses. They carry an extremely powerful minigun and bulletproff armor. The only way to kill one is to shoot it with your own heavy guard or somehow drop explosives on him. The Heavy Guard is located at the end of double max and a few times in triple max. Howver in Triple Max you get your own. They show up only 3 times I think, but Im not sure. There Armor is immune to anything except for one of their own minuguns. They also have the ability to fire rocket/flare missles for instant kills to anything around it. They arent stupid either. They will charge, force you out of corners and hunt you down. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DWELLERS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Fists Intelligance: Stupid Description: The dwellers are naked human looking monsters that live in the dark places of Butcher Bay. They throive in the dark, moving quickly in order to kill you. They crouch all the time and run similar to Gollum(LOTR character). The are pretty stupid, meaning that they cannot wield weapons, so they use theyre fist's. They attack in groups, so naturally the Shotgun would be the most effective weapon against them. As far as intelligance goes, they are generally idiots, but will not hesitate to come looking for you. The dwellers are found in only 2 chapters in the game, so you really dont have to worry about them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- XENO [Ze-ee-no] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weapons: Claws Intelligance: Smart(for an underground creature) Description: In this game there are two types of Xeno. The first type is huge burrowing monster with large jaggedy teeth. This Xeno only appears a few times in the game, but you can defeat them with a grenade. The second type of Xeno are little pods that come off the bug Xeno's back. The little pods are very common in the chapters the Xeno are located. They are also very weak, dying by one shotgun shot. For creatures these Xeno are pretty smart. They stick to you like glue, following you no matter where you go. They can also jump up ledges, so don't think about running. Xeno usually come in waves of 2-5 every time you beat the previous wave. They do eventually stop respawning. Xeno are only found in a couple chapters of the game so they really are not much of a threat. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.04- Characters | [204CH] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD ------- RIDDICK ------- Riddick is the most wanted con in the entire universe. He is extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat, stealth, and plain old firefights. Before the game Riddick was believed to have been in the military (I got this information from the Chronicles of Riddick DVD extras). This is probably the most direct reason he is such an adept fighter. Riddick himself is strong, and has a high tolerance to pain. He obviously commited a murder or crime of some sort to have caused a chain of events leading him to have a huge price on his head. As a result, almost every merc in the universe would sell they're soul to the devil in order to get the bounty on him. The most notorious and skilled of the mercs is William Johns (He actually captures him several times before the end). In fact, Johns is the entire reason Riddick is even to Butcher Bay. Riddick is not an ordinary human, as you wil find out when you watch the Chronicles of Riddick movie. His most noticable feature are his buffered eyes, which he claims to have gotten for 20 menthols, but by the end of the game you will find out he is not entirely truthful. ------------- WILLIAM JOHNS ------------- Johns is the most skilled Merc in the universe. For those of you who havent realised what a merc is, heres a brief description. Mercs are basically bounty hunters who capture prisoners and transport them to prisons and collect the fee. Johns himself has a soft depressed voice, which has a nack to make Riddick mad. Johns follows the nearly impossible mission to capture and bring Riddick to one of the may correctional facilities and get a good bounty on him. In the movie "Pitch Black", Johns actually dress's as a cop in order to transport Riddick to another prison. However, the transport ship crashs on a desert planet. Johns never gets to see the day when Riddick dies, instead he is left tore in half on the cold ground of an abandoned planet. ----- HOXIE ----- Not much is explained about Hoxie in this game. He is the owner and Warden of Butcher Bat, the prison in which this game is set in. Judging by his status, it can be assumed is a talented and wealthy business man with a Dutch accent. He dresses in a mostly green outfit with gold colored tassles and designs. Hehas long blond hair with an enourmous wort on the side of his cheek. He seems to be very aggresive and out-front with all his beliefs. Despite all the trouble Riddick causes, he seems to have a deep respect for him. In the end Hoxie is accidentally betrayed by his own guards. The last time you see hoxie he is slouching life-lessly in a chair with several bullet holes in his torso. ------ ABBOTT ------ Second in command of Butcher Bay Correctional Facility. Abbott really defines the term "Gangsta" in Riddick's Universe. He's fast talking, foul mouthed, and and dangerous. He dresses in shiny red armor similar to that of the Light Squad Leaders. His voice is provided by the rapper Xzibit, who also provides the likeness. He has cornrows and a slight mustache. Abbott does everything in his power to make prisoners lives a living hell. Abbott is never found walking around like a guard, but you only meet him in certain areas such as his quarters or in Tower 17, which is where you end up killing him. Abbott is personally my favorite character beside's Riddick. -------- POPA JOE -------- Joe is a mysterious prison hermit that lives in the deep tunnels of Butcher Bay. He is a large tan man with several tattoes and pody paint. You meet Joe when traveling throught the pit. He helps you get your Eyeshine Ability, which is Riddicks trademark. You actually do a favor for him and then he stitchs all your wounds. Joe is certainly mysterious, and Riddick never actually mentions his name. He explains he got his eyeshine "I got this from a slam preacher, cost me 20 menthols". I guess technically he really didnt get his eyeshine from Joe, but from the mysterious voice(forget HER name) inside his head. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.06- General Tips | [205GT] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ -Always use stealth, especially on hard. Its much easier for the most part to take out people one by one silently then jumping into a firefight where you are most likely gonna die. This is not as important on easy or normal, but for hard it is extremely vital. Never use the noisy attack either, as it will alert. other guards of your presence. -Conserve ammo if your low. This game has a realsic (and annoying) reloading system. No matter how many bullets you have left in your clip, if you reload when some are still in there, they are gone for good. This is very annoying, especially with those hard to find weapons like the gun (pistol). So please, do not waste your bullets or reload when you have 35 shots left in your 26 shot clip. -Always be ready for whats around the corner. When your playing on hard 2 enemys can easily mean death if your not looking, so watch out. Always peek around corners to see whats ahead of you. Never turn your flashlight on or you will alert the guards to your presence. Try to take out the guards with stealth if you can. -Use your queit weapons always. Try using the gun to its full advantage since its the most accurate and deadly weapon (if used correctly). The assault rifle would be your second choice, since it is still relativly good and is semi-quiet. Always use the shotgun last since its so loud and only suited best for close-range combat. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |2.06- Directors Edition | [206DE] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ I do not own the Directors Cut PC Version, so do not ask me any special questions on the new content. This information has been found by me on the web. Additions are as followed: - In one of the chapters, I believe in the chapter "Mining Core", you are able to get inside a Riot guard and go on a rampage. It is similar to the heavy guard at the end of the game, only faster and much more agile. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Cigeratte Pack Number - 60 Manufacturer - Flare Warning - May cause a burning sensation Reward - DVD Trailer Location - In the first area were you get the riot guard there is a pack of ciggaretes in a room with a huge sign above it saying "Briefing Room". It is pack #60. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I apologize I cannot give you a walkthrough for the new content, but my current PC does not have the required hardware to run the game well. /===========================================================================\ 0=============================================================================0 |3) Walkthrough | [03WAL] | | 0=============================================================================0 \===========================================================================/ /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.01- Escape | [301ES] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Like many, the game starts out with a small cutscene. Johns, the bounty hunter is having a conversation with Riddick, the famous anti-hero as he is strapping him down. After a little more chatter, the pilot will announce that you are one hour away from Butcher Bay. A few seconds will pass before the camera will shift it's view to the outside of the ship. It lands on a small "dock". Next you will be given control of Riddick. Take a few moments to get a feel for the game. It has the standard controls for an Xbox fps. Talk to Johns when you are ready. Select one of the two things to say to him. Once your done talking, Johns will turn around. One of the other prisoners is wondering around, so Johns feels the need to warn him. Once he has is back to you go up and crack his neck. He will drop a gun, but dont bother picking it up since its DNA encoded and will shock you. Turret guns will notice you and start firing. Behind you is a hatch that the second prisoner opened up. Jump down it. Go around the corner and you will come to ladder. Jump down and you will be on top of a boiler. On the ground level ahead of you is a Mechanic fixing something. Walk up to him to experience your first melee fight. Keep jabbing at him while still blocking his attacks. He's extremely easy. Once he dies he will drop a blue key card. Pick the keycard and the vent tool up then go through the door. Sneak down the small hallway and go into stealth mode. While your in stealth mode you will be croutching, so you will naturally move slower than normal. A guard will come strolling by humming a little tune. Now, you could run up to him and duke it out, but since he has a gun and you dont that's not a good idead. Instead I suggest that you stealth kill him. While in stealth mode, walk right up to him while his back is facing you. Press the right trigger to perform an instant kill, or press the left trigger to use the more silent and slower stealth kill. If you used the left trigger, you will only hold on to the gurad. Press the X button repeatedly and Riddick will crack the guards neck. Once he is dead you will need to grab onto the body and drag it into the shadows. While in stealth mode go up to the body and press X. This will make Riddick grab hold of the body. Drag the body of the guard into the darkness near the door behind you. When your finished head right down the hallway. You will come to a large room with a rail hanging overhead and stacks of crates on the left. Climb up the crates and look above you. Press X to jump up on the rails. Press up to move across the rails. When you are halfway there a guard will run underneath you. You do not have to kill him, so just continue down the rails. Jump down once you come to the end. Use the Vent tool to go inside the ventalation hatch. Follow the vent and kick the hatch open at the end. You are now behind a fence and in a rather large room. Peek arund the fence and you will see a guard with a shotgun. Ironically it has not ammo, so just walk up to him. He will try to melee attack you with his shotgun. You need to take it from him. In order to that you need to wait until he swings then quickly press the right trigger. Riddick will grab a hold of the shotgun and shoot the guard in the jaw. It takes a little practice, but ocne you get it you should have no problems. When you kill him Riddick will pick up the shotgun, but since you dont have any ammo its useless (except for melee attacks). Facing the table turn right. Above you is a large balcony. Next to you are some crates. Climb up the crates and then onto the railing of the balcony. Shimmy to the right and pull your self up when you get to the gap in the guard fence. Go left down the hallway and into the elevator. Press the button to make the elevator go up. Once you reach the top walk out. You are now in a small outdoor area. To your right on the other side of the area is a guard with a shotgun, and ammo. Hide in the shadows and wait until the guard turns his back. Walk up and hit him the back with your shotgun (press the left trigger). Take his ammo and climb down the ladder in the middle of the balcony. Go left and you will see a locked door. As Riddick implies, blast the lock off with your shotgun. When you go inside you will notice that its pretty dark. Activate the flashlight by pressing the White Button and then walk around the corner. A guard will be patrolling ahead of you. He will notice you because of the flashlight, so shoot him before he can take any life off you. Go around the corner to the right and you will meet up with some more guards. Shoot the explosive barrels and continues. Go around the corner and deal with the remaining guards. Go right and you will see a very bright light. Keep walking into it to end the chapter. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.02- The Arrival | [302TA] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Once you start this chapter a cut scene will be displayed. Johns releases Riddick from the restraints, and begins a conversation. After a little talking Johns takes you off the ship and onto the landing dock. This is your first look at Butcher Bay Correctional Facility, the tougheset slam in the universe. Ahead of you down the path is the Main Gate, with barbed wire fences to guard the path. Out of the main gate will come three men. The one in the middle dressed in Green and Gold is Hoxie, the warden of Butcher Bay. The man in the shiny red and black armor is Abbott, second in command of the prison. He is carrying a rifle just as the other guards do. The third man is the standard guard at Butcher Bay. You will come to know them well. After a delightfull greeting Johns begins to negotiate with Hoxie. Foolishly he tries to get +50% on Riddick, only to find Hoxie has his own terms. This does not go over to well with Johns, who threatens to leave Butcher Bay and take Riddick to another slam. When Hoxie realizes that this might happen, he decides to keep negotiating. After this Hoxie tells Abbott to take you to your cell. You are now in control of the camera, but you cannot move. Riddick will start moving, along with Abbott yelling at you. He explains how things work at Butcher Bay, and what not to do. While your walking towards the prison, look down at your shadow. This is an excellent example of how graphically amazing this game is. Anyway, eventually you will reach the main gate of the prison. You and Abbott turn left once inside and go through another gate. Take this time to look at Butcher Bay's stunning visuals. Just the sheer amount of Bump and Normal Mapping is incredable. You will continue walking down the hall. You will turn right. To your left is a mechanic fixing something. Just keep looking around as you go down the hallway. You and the trio will turn right after a while, and pass through a couple of gates. You are now inside the cell block. The cell block is a small cramped series of hallways that for a short time you will call home. Everywhere in the cell block are prisoners scattered about. Eventually you will get to your cell, where you will cleaned. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.03- Prison Yard | [303PY] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ After that awesome introduction, you will be left in your cell. Once your done be deloused, go outside of the cell. If you find this area particularily intrsting, I suggest you explore it now because it will not be your home for long. Anyway, once you are done getting a feel for the place go back outside of your cell. There is an inmate standing there named Barber, go talk to him. He tells you that a guys name Mattson has been talking about you. He also tells you that you can find him in the courtyard. Make your way through the cell block and you will come to the courtyard. In case you cant figure out what it looks like, Ill give a bried description. Its a large outdoor area with sunlight pooring in. There is a large hole in the middle called the pit. There are several hallways leading to different cell blocks, but they are locked for now. Mattson is standing in a corner talking to some other inmates. Go talk to him. He apologizes and tells Riddick that he has a shiv for him inside his bunk. Go back into the cell block and go to cell 40. Walk inside and you will be ambushed by two inmates. They are extremely easy, so just kick the crap out of them. When they are dead go back to the courtyard and talk Mattson. He tells you that Rust forced him to set up the ambush, and that he will really get you the shiv. Go back through the cell block and into your cell. You will now see a cutscene. Mattson will walk in and give you the shiv. Your little meeting however, is ruined by Rust, who walks in. Rust tries to act like hes badass and confronts Riddick. When Riddick tells him to leave, Rust feels the need to take a swing. The blow is dodged by Riddick who then puts Rust in a choke hold. Riddick holds the shiv to Rust's neck, but is interupted by Abbott. With a gun pointing at his face, Riddick releases Rust. Abbott tells Riddick not to mess with the natural order of things. Rust gets up and breaks Mattsons wrist. Obviously after watching this you will see that Rust is Abbotts little puppet. Once the cutscene is over go back outside your cell and talk to Barber. You are informed that Rust is waiting to kill you in the Aquila territory. In order to beat Rust, you are going to need a weapon. Barber tells you that you can get a weapon from Waman, who resides in cel 38. Go to that cell and you will find Waman sitting on a bench. Talk to him and he tells you that he will get you a weapon if you kill Molina. Go across the hall from cell 38 and you will find Molina. Beat Molina to a pulp and take his knuckleduster. Go back to Waman to recieve your reward. You are now ready to face Rust, so head through the cell block and into the courtyard. Go across the courtyard and into the Aquila territory. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.04- Aquila Territory | [304AT] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Go forward then turn left. Welcome to Cell Block B. Its the exact same as Cell Block A, except there is no security (probably due to Abbott and Rust). Anyway, right away you will notice two inmates beating on a dead prisoner. Walk forward to get them to notice you. The one that was hitting the corpse will now charge at you with a bare fists. If your playing on hard a single inmate can be trouble, so hit him first. He should be knocked backa bit. Follow up with repeated strikes to kill him. Keep going down the Cell Block and you will run into another Aquilan that screams "Im gonna kill you" in a real deep voice. This inmate has a knuckle duster, so I recommend killing him a quickly as possible. Cirle around him while throwing in some fast jabs. Once he is dead continue down the cell block. Turn right and you will find another inmate, but this one has a shiv. Make sure you have your knuckleduster equiped then go fight. Do NON STOP jabbing and you will kill him easily. DO NOT stop. Just keep pressing the right trigger. Once he is dead grab his shiv because your gonna need it. Go down the short hallway then take a right. In the area are two Aquilan gang members. One of them is standing ready to light a flamable liquid that is trailing back to a gas canister. If you go into his line of sight he will light it. It does some pretty good damage (on hard anyway), so back up when lights it. On ce he lights it he will run to the back of the cell block with the other inmate. Go forward and they will both charge. Fortunatly, onle on e of them at a time will fight you. For the shiv guy you need to stay in a general area. Now that you have a shiv you can inflict alot more damage than with a knuckleduster. Riddick also slashs the shiv extremely fast, so agility is on your side. Just keep jabbing him and he should fall down pretty quick. Now go up to the one with the knuckleduster and star moving around him. Keepe jabbing just like you did with the shiv guy before him and he will eventually die. If you are low on health on of the cells has a Nano-Med station. When your ready continue past the two bodys of the aquilans and into the final room. Here Rust will be waiting for you. Believe it or not, Rust is actually pretty easy. He is roughly equivalent to a normal inmate, only a bit faster and has a bit more health. In order to beat him just repeat the previous stradegy. Circle around him while quickly jabbing. He will die fairly quickly and you will be treated to a cutscene. Abbott, who witnessed the fight, asks you to be the new roster. However, Riddick doesnt even give him an answer, instead he just walks away. Abbot then makes a small comment about not to say no to him. Once you are back in control immediatly switch to your fists or else the guards will try to kill you. When your ready to leave go back through Cell Block B and get to the courtyard. In the courtyard you will find an inmate named Haley. Go over and talk to him. From his beliefs, the Pit leads down into the guards quarters. He also tells you that a rifle would be needed to get past the guards quarters. But since they are all DNA encoded you will frie when you touch them. Haley also tells you that there is a secret passage from the infirmary to the mainframe, where the DNA codebank is. A guard named Boulder owes Haley 150 ud. Haley says to go talk to him and he will let you in the infirmary. Go back through Cell Block A until you get to the double doors. Talk to Boulder and he will let you through. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.05- Infirmary | [305IN] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Walk through the door ahead and you will come to the infirmary. To your left is a wall with two doors on it and a large window. Spread all around you are beds for patients. On some of the beds are a couple inmates, who look like they are being tortured rather than treated. Ahead of you are two guards. One of them is on the other side of the room guarding the door, and the other is walking around checking on the patients. Walk up to the one that is strolling around and he will try to hit you. Right before the gun hits you press the Right Trigger. Riddick will grab the gun and shoot the guard (you still can't use since your DNA hasn't been added to the data bank yet). Take his keycard. The other guard that was guarding the door will come up ready to fight. Just keep jabbing him with your shiv and he will die pretty quickly. Once he is dead go back and to the entrance and face forward. Like Ive said before, to your left are two doors. The one in the far corner is the one you need to get to. Run over their and go through the door by using your keycard. Immediatly you will be attacked by guard with nothing but his fists. Duke it out then head right. In this corner you will find a large machine with a seat. Go up to it and press X. Riddick hops in the chair and looks into the small screen. Needles come out and pierce his chest. When he steps out you will have a maximum of five health blocks. Three more of these machines are spread out in the game. Once your ready head down the hallway and go up the ladder. Continue moving and turn left. You will come to what looks like a large balcony with a crate on the right. Quickly hide behind the crate as a guard will come walking by. When he has his back turned go up and stealth kill him. Go inside the grading to continue to the next room. Follow the short tunnel and you wil come to another balcony. Silently cross this balcony and go into the small tunnel. Keep following the tunnel and you will come to another room. Inside this room is another guard. Once he has his back turned go up and kill him. Go forward to come to a room with another guard. Sneak up to him and sneak'em. In the next room is a large stack of crates. Wait for the guard to turn his back then go up and sneak him. Go inside the door to your left. Go through the small hallway and into the mainframe. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.06- Mainframe | [306MF] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Welcome to the mainframe. As Riddick utters, Security is pretty tight. This chapter would be impossible with only melee weapons. Luckily you get to use an Assault Rifle for the first time here. This chapter begins with Riddick in a crouched position on top of a balcony. Below the balcony is the DNA data bank. You need to get down to ground level and put your DNA in the databank. Run all the way to the other side of the balcony and look down. On the other side of the room are two crates stacked. Now make a running jump from the balcony and land on top of the two crates. On the ground to your right is a mechanic fixing the databank computer. Once you landed on the crates you should have heard the computer A.I. say "Data bank is ready for sample" or something like that. Look at the mechanic below and wait for him to turn his back to you. Once he has turned jump of the crate then sneak up behind him. Use the Left or Right trigger to stealth kill him. Stroll up to the databank terminal and press the action button [X] to use it. When the computer has finished scanning it will alert security. Next to the mechanics corpse is a toolbox and an Assault Rifle. Go up and grab the assault rifle [time for some whoop-ass]. Facing the tool box area turn left and aim at the door. Crouching will help imrpove your accuracy and damage so it. After a few seconds some guards will open up the door. Shread them all to pieces with your assault rifle then go through the door. At the end of the hall is a right turn. 3 or 4 guards will come out from around the corner. Use the crates in this area as cover while you take position. When the guards show up do the same thing you did with the previous set. Now go around the corner and walk towards the door. The door will slightly open and a guard will throw a grenade in. Quickly back up and wait for the grenade to explode. Once you hear the bang go back to the area in which it was the thrown. The explosion created a large hole in the wall to your right. Go up to the hole and press the Left Trigger to do a melee attack. Walk through the hole then go left. You will meet up with a guard carrying a shotgun. Quickly kill him then go to the other side of the room. Above you is a large fan preventing your advancement. To your left tucked in the corner is the control box. Go up to it and press the action button to turn the fan off. Now turn around 180 degrees and you will view some crates. They are all stacked in huge piles. Climb on top of the one farthest to the left. Then climb up the next one and the ones after that. When you reach the top of the stack look to the right. Between the stack of crates and the fan is a small gap. Get a running start and jump over it. Crouch down and go under the fan. On the floor to your left is a very thin grading with a guard patrolling below. Turn on your flashlight [White Button] and shoot him to death. Now walk on top of the grating to make it collapse. Look on the exact opposite side of the hall in which you just killed the guard. Another shotgun wielding enemie will start firing at you. Take him out then continue down the hallway. Turn right and go into the small hallway. When your through you will be in a large room with several crates and a Nano-Med station. To your left on the other side of the room is a balcony with two guards. Quickly sprint across the room and go up the stairs underneath the balcony. Continue up the stairs and until you get to the balcony. Quickly kill the two guards before they can take any life off of you. Head back down the stairs. Dont use the Nano-Med station just yet. Facing the stairs look to your left and you will spot a dark hallway. Go inside and a guard will roll out. Quickly shoot him then go inside the ventalation hatch on the left wall [Dont forget to use the Nano-Med station if you need to]. Follow the ventalation shaft until you come to a dark tunnel. Inside this small tunnel is a series of pipes. One of them obviously has a leak in it. Use the valve near the pipe to shut it off. Not quickly hide in the corner. Two guards will come out to investagate the shut off. Turn your flash light on so you can see them. Fire away until both of them are dead. There was actually three guards, but one double backed. The third guard will open the door on the other side of the tunnel and toss in a grenade. Backup to the wall and wait for it to explode. When the fireworks are over kill the remaining guard then go over to where the grenade exploded. The grenade once again blew a hole into the wall. Step inside and follow the small hallway. It leads to a large completely dark room. Run on through this room and you will come to one lone guard on the right side. Take him out then keep following the path and you will come to a Nano-Med station. Use it if needed then head to the left. Welcome to the hardest part of first max. Well it isnt that hard compared to some of the other parts of the game, but on hard difficulty it will give you a run for your money. There are two bunkers in here, on the left and right. Each one of them has several guards inside. Spread all around the bunkers are several crates. On the other side of the room is an elevator thats closed off for now. The easiest way to kill the first group [Which can be whatever one you choose] is to rush them. Choose a group then go in guns blazing ready to kill. Aim for the head and torso and the group should be dead in no time. For the second group I recommend finding a crate to use as cover. Peak out of it and take out any guards in sight. Once you've done that go inside the other bunker and rush them just as you did the previous group. When all the guards are dead the elevator will come down along with a Riot Guard. At first glance this might look like suicide but it is actually queit possible to win. Since the Riot Guard is extremely slow were going to use that to our advantage. In order to kill a Riot Guard you must shoot the plating in its back. 3-4 clips with an assault rifle will work. We are going to play cat and mouse with the Riot Guard. Lead him into one of the bunkers then quickly run around to the other side. Fire away one clip on his back and he will be temporarily stunned. Once Riddick reloads drop another 36 rounds on him. Do this until he is dead. Once the fight is over go over to the elevator and press the activation switch. This will take the elevator up. When you get to the toop you will come to a three way junction. Go in the door marked "Cell Block A". /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.07- Prison Yard Riot | [307PR] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ This room has two different branches. The one directly ahead of you leads to a small room with a Nano-Med Station and the controls for the gate. The one on your right leads down into the Cell Block, but there is a gate blocking you at the base of the stairs. Stroll in the room ahead of you and use the valve to open the gate. Use the Nano-Med station if you need to then go back into the hallway. Go around the corner and you will see a prisoner being shot to death. Can you guess whats around the corner? Some guards. Walk around the corner and take out the guards. Above the guards is a turret gun, which means death to you unless you take it out fast. Just drop some rounds on it and it will blow up. Kill any guards that you didnt kill before. If you turn right and look down the cellblock you should see a turret gun firing at you. Get behind cover then pop out and destroy it. Take down the few guards that pop out then continue down the cell block. Turn left at the next junction and you will be under fire from a couple of guards and a turret. Take out the turrret first then drop the guards with your assault rifle. Continue down the cell block and turn right. Waste the lone guard here then go through the small hallway. Riddick realizes he needs to trick the gaurds into opening the gate. Now go back through the cell block. Take out any guards that get in your way. When you reach the area where you started the stage turn right. Kill all the guards here then go through the now opened gate. Use the radio transmitter that the gaurd dropped to open the gate on the other side of the cell block. Yet again go back through the cell block. You should you to the prisoner lying on the ground wounded. If you want to be morale, you should shoot him to end his misery. Go forward and you will see a cut scene. Riddick jogs out into the courtyard and is shot in the arm by a hidden guard. The guard is then tackeled by Riddick and they fall in the pit together. As they fall Riddick uses the guard as a cushion. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.08- The Pit | [307TP] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ When the guard and Riddick fell the flashlight on the guards shot was damaged and know it only has six minutes of power, which is more than enough to finish this chapter. Go forward and through the tunnel until you come to a hallway with a glowing blue substance everywhere. Some dwellers will attack you. Blast them to pieces and then continue until you come to a hole in the ground where the grading broke. Go down in the hole and you will be under the floor and on top of the blue substance. Go right at the junction and then proceed down the hallway. Turn left and you will be in a short hallway with a valve laying on the ground. Take the Valve and go back to the torn grading. Jump over the hole and proceed forward until you come to the junction. Once again take the a right and then a left. You will see a weird looking man walking away muttering something. Next too the gate ahead of you is an object in which you must put the Valve in. Put it in then turn it to open the gate. Proceed on the scaffold and through the tunnels. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.09- Popa Joe's Den | [309PJ] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Walk with Popa Joe until you get to the elevator. Walk in and he will take you up. Follow him down the hallway and through the corridor's. When you come to the room with two doors and a box of flares he will stop. Go up and talk to him. Joe says that "he" told him that you would come to him (joe). Joe will stitch your wound, but you must prove that you are not an imposter. Popa Joe has recently lost his voicebox (radio) and he wants you to get it back. If you do this he will stitch up your wounds and give you a special "gift". Go over to the box of flares and take the limited number of 12. Now go back through the previous hallway. Go inside the elevator and press the button to go down. Ahead of you are two different paths. The one on the left will take you to some dark corridors, and you dont have a flashlight. The one ahead of you will take you back to the area of the previous chapter. Take the path on the left and follow the blue plasma. When you come to a dark corridor throw a flare inside. If there are any dwellers lurking nearby blast them and move on. Go down the corridor and turn right. Ahead of you is a small room with two passages and explosive barrels everywhere. The area is infested with dwellers, so I suggest moving quickly. Shoot the barrels to kill the dwellers then take the small passage on the right. Go inside and get the Nano-Med cartridge and take the voice box. Now go back in the previous room. Kill the dwellers here then go back into the dark corridor. Go down the corridor then turn left and go back in the large room. Run to the elevator and press the button to make it go up. Any dwellers following you will be smashed by it if they jump. Go through the hallways and back to the small room. Talk to Joe and he will thank you and you will be treated to a CG cutscene. Popa Joe is stitching Riddick up while they chat a bit. After asking a few more things Riddick asks how to get to Narc Land. Joe walks over to a small vent and tells him that he goes out this way to get things from the hacks. Riddick begins to go inside, when all of the sudden the world around him freezes. The mysterious voice in Riddick's head will start talking. She gives him a gift, and tells him to use it well. The world will now unfreeze and Riddick will now see through eyeshine. For those who dont know, eyeshine means that he can see in the dark. However, when used in light it is almost blinding. After smacking Joe around a bit and arguing about what just happened, Riddick hops inside the vent. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.10- Dark Tunnels | [310DT] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Go to the end of the vent and jump out of the grating. You are now in what appears to be a small boiler room. Ahead of you is a hallway with several cubical looking machine. The hallway ahead of you turns left, but you will have to deal with some dwellers before you can get to the end. I recommend you hurry, since the dwellers in here seem to respawns. Anyway, head forward then turn left. Go around the corner and you be in another hallway the same as theprevious one. Straight ahead of you is a wall. On your left are some dwellers coming to rip you apart. On your right are two huge pipes coming out of the wall. Blast apar any of the dwellers you see and then quickly go up the ladder. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.11- Showers | [311SH] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Welcome to Narc Land, or otherwise the guards recreation area. When your in control take a 180 degree turn then head left. In the hallway are some stalls behind curtains. Go up to the nearest one and flip the lightswitch to turn the light off. A guard will come out of the nearest stall. Shoot him to death and take his gun (pistol, but its real name is "gun"). Go around the corner and you will come to a large locker room. Quickly use the lightswitch to the left of the entrance. This will shut off the lights. Flip your eyeshine on by clicking the right thumbstick. This will make everything a slightly purple tint but will allow you to see in the dark. When you turned off the light the guard will have noticed. They will be strolling along looking for anything suspicious. Quietly sneak up to the guard and hit him in the back with your gun then take his ammo. Make your way to the exact opposite side of the room you came from. You will reach a small hallway with two different paths that lead around a wall. Lean around the wall from either side and shoot the light on the cieling out. Quickly lean behind the wall to avoid being seen by the now alerted guard. Flip your eyeshine on and lean back out. Wait for him to turn his back on you then walk up and stealth kill him. Take his assault rifle then wait for the guards to show up. Kill them all then head out into the hallway. Take out any remaining guards and head left. If you are low on health go right until you find the Nano-Med station. Once your ready head left. Go through the door and you will come to a couple of guards. One is walking around at ground level and the others are patrolling above on a balcony. Shoot the guard at ground level then snipe the others on the balcony with your gun. Ahead of you is a stairway and on your right is a passage. Go in the passage and you will come to a room with a three sided door pressing against a crate. Kill all three guards in here then take the path on the right. Kill the two guards that comme for you then continue. Go down the long skinny room and kill the guard thats walking around near the door. Go through the little hole with rail. You will meet up with some more guards in the next room. Take them out then go in the pass on the right. You will come to a small hallway with a garage door on your right. Kill the guard sitting around then go up to the eye reader located near the left of the garage. Riddick sticks his eyes in, only to find he needs someone elses, Abbott's. Go back to the entrance of the hallway and head forward. Go right and kill the guard. Enter the door ahead of you to end the stage. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.12- Guards Quarters | [312GQ] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ When you walk out of the door you will find yourself behind a wall. On each side are openings leading out into a large courtyard type area. In the center of the courtyard is some shrubry. On the other side of the area is a series of balconys with guards patrolling. Below those balconies is a door with several guards patrolling. Two guards are patrolling on the balconies, while two more are on the ground level. When your ready go out into an opening and fire at the two guards on the ground level. When they are both dead take out your gun (pistol) and zoom in at the guards on the balcony. Wait for them to stop then snipe them in the head. After a few seconds some guards will come out of the door on the other side of the courtyard. Take them out then head into the door. Inside you will find an elevator. Take it up and you will be met by three guards. Two more guards will come out of the door to the right. Kill them then head then go in the door to your left. Proceed down the hallway and take out the guard when you reach the stairs. Go down the hallway and on the balcony. Continue down the balcony and into the hallway. You will come to a two-way junction. Take out all the guards that pop out of the corners then take the left path. Go up the stairs and proceed down the hallway. Kill the guard here then go right. Go up the stairs then quickly turn around and waste the guard on the overhanging above. Now continue down the hallway and you will come to an outdoor area with some guards. Shoot the guards on the ground level then take out the ones on the balcony. Take the rifle case that one of them dropped. Next to where the guard dropped the rifle case is a door. Go up to the door and buzz in the speaker. Abbott replies "what is it". Select the option "Ive got a package". Abbott opens the door to reveal a halway. Walk in to end the stage. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.13- Abbott | [313AB] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Walk in the door ahead of you to enter Abbott's apartment. He will right away realize that you are not here to give him his new rifle. He picks up and Assault Rifle and starts attacking you. Right away run behind a pillar somewhere. When he starts to reload run out and shoot him up. If you didn’t kill him the first time repeat the strategy. This guy really sucks, I kill him with one clip every time. When you beat him the game will go into cut scene mode. Abbott is lying on the ground in a huge pool of blood. Riddick leans over him and puts his fist in the air. Right before he swings he feels the tip of a gun on the back of his head. Behind him is Johns. He explains to you that you and him are leaving butcher bay. Unlucky for Johns Hoxie shows up with a couple of guards. You are then taken to Hoxie’s office. Hoxie says he should kill you both, but he doesn't. Hoxie then turns around and hits Johns. He also tells Johns that he will give him plus 20% on Riddick. He then proceeds to smack Johns around a little more. Finally Johns gives in and offers 22%. Hoxie replies by telling him to get the **** out of his slam. He then turns to Riddick. He talks about how his Slam is becoming a war zone, and what he intends to do with you. He decides to send you to the mines, or otherwise Double Max. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.14- Tower 17 | [314T7] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Sit back and watch the rather impressive cut scene. If you listen Riddick will explain some things about Butcher Bay, and reveal one important fact. It can contain the cons, but never control them. Continue watching the cut scene and you will see a large cell being transported to a holding area. The robotic arm firmly places the cell inside on of the designated holes. When the cell is tucked tightly in the hole, the door opens up. Out of the darkness comes an hysterical prisoner. He runs over to the cell next to him and starts screaming at a gruff looking prisoner. The gruff inmate pushs him away. The hysterical inmate decides to try again, only to be thrown down into the abyss. Your view will now change to a security camers. Its cruising down the wall and comes to the gruff looking prisoner you just saw. When the inmate realizes that he was caught, he starts to panic. The turret fires away its machine gun, killing the gruff looking inmate. Life obviously means nothing to anyone in Butcher Bay, except maybe Riddick (though not really). The cut scene will shift to another cell being taken down. It locks the cell firmly into place, then the door opens. Out steps Riddick, looking pretty badass. When your in control immediatly turn right and follow the black inmate. You eventually reach the end of the cells and come to a hallway. Go through then stroll into the hallway. The other inmate will walk inside as well. You will begin to move down. An additional inmate inside here starts banging on the steel guard fence window. The guards shoot him to death. The chapter ends once you get down. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.15- Tower 17 Base | [315TB] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Once the elevator comes to a complete stop follow the black prisoner. When he stops in the corner go over and talk to him. As he will explain, Double Max is different from Maximum. The equivilant to Rust down here is Jagger Valance, though he has been missing for quite some time. There are two different ways to get pass the courtyard/recreation area. You can fight your way up to Bam in the fighers ring, or get caught with drugs. Either way your objective is to get inside the Interrigation room and kill Abbott. For now we are just going to do the fighting ring method since it is the quickest and most rewarding. Anyway head down the hallway and into the courtyard. In order to get past this area you are going to have to fight a blueskin. Lucky for you, Herman the blueskin is ready to face you in the ring. Go over to Centurion (inmate with no shirt and spade tattoe) and talk. He will arange the fight, but you need to get the blueskin to face you. Go over to the gate on the other side of the courtyard and talk to Herman. He accepts your challenge. Now go back and talk to Centurion to start the fight. Herman is really easy, and since this is a skin fight you cant really be hurt (as long as you block). Start off by circling him and throwing a few punchs. use combo attacks like the left-right jab and uppercuts. Once he dies you will win 20 ud and have passage to the recreation area. When your ready to leave go talk to Centurion. He will give you the name of your next opponent, "Baasem". Go into the door that Harman was guarding and ge left down the short hallway. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.16- Recreation Area | [316RA] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ ------ BAASIM ------ Most of side quests in this game are located in this area, so if you want to get the most out of your gameplay experience I suggest that you check out the sidequest section. There are four parts to the recreation area. A, B, C, and D are all pretty much Identical except for the prisoners inside them. From your startign position inside a large room head left. Go up to the big door with the sign saying "NO ****ING IN THE RECREATION AREA". The large door will open up revealing part A of the recreation area. In part A there are three doors. The one on the right will not open and has two guard walking around. The door directly ahead of you has a Riot Guard inside. The door on your left leads to recreation area B. The difference between the A recreation area and the other areas is that the left door leads to the next area in A, but the right door leads to the next area in all the others. First off you should go see a inmate named Cricket in part A. Talk to him and he will sell you a very sharp shiv for 30 ud. Take the door on left next to go into courtyard B. Talk to Baasim, who will accept your fight and tell you to go back and talk to Centurion. After he has agreed to fight you head back to the tower 17 courtyard. Talk to Centurion to begin fighting with Baasim. This guy is alot harder than Harmen, particularily in the agility area. However, compared to the later fighters he is still very easy. The simplest and most effective method is block then punch right away. Block again then punch again. Since he has no weapon he will not hurt you when you block and he punches. Keep hitting him until he starts to bleed alot. Once he is almost dead hold down the block button and wait for him to swing. Right befor his fist hist you press the right trigger to perform an instant death kill. -------- SAWTOOTH -------- Once the fight is over go talk to Centurion to arrange the next fight. A guy named sawtooth is currently pigging out in the diner, or feedward. You will need to talk to him to arrange the next fight. Go back into the large room just befor the recreation area. Instead of going through the large door go right and into the smaller but still tall door marked "Feed Ward". /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.17- Feed Ward | [317FW] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Go around the hallway and you will be attacked by a Blueskin. Before you hit him make sure you are out of view from the turret in the diner. This dude is really easy, so just throw a few punches and he will die. Once he is dead head into the feed ward and look for a fat gruff looking prisoner named Sawtooth. Talk to him and he will accept your challenge. Now head back to Tower 17. Talk to Centurion and he will start the fight. Sawtooth is alot harder than Baasim, mainly because he has an shiv. Because of that you cannot block him and he is faster then normal due to the shivs size. Right when the fight starts quickly take out your shiv. Your going to have to kill him quickly before he can get too many hits off you. Immediatly dodge his first attack (He will get the first attack since you have to switch to your shiv). Slice him with a left-right combo attack then dodge his counter attack. Slash him again then dodge another one of his counter attacks. Repeat this stradegy a few times and Sawtooth will die. Once he is dead go talk to Centurion. He tells you that Cusa is the next fighter, who is located all the way in section D of the Recreation area. Go all the way to section D of the Recreation area. Talk to Cusa and he will accept your fight. Now head back to the Tower 17 courtyard. Talk to Centurion and he will arrange the next fight. Cusa is alot harder if your playing on hard rather than normal. If your playing on normal he will die in 3-5 hits as long as they are in a combo. If you are on hard your going to have to keep circling him and jabbing. Anyway, the real trick is to hit him before he hits you (kinda like in real life). If you can get a few combos on him he will drop pretty easy. On hard you will have to circle around him will throwing some jabs. Once the fight is over go talk to Centurion. Only one fighter is left, Bam. This is the last guy you will have to face. --- BAM --- Believe it or not, Bam isnt as hard as you would think. While he is the hardest fighter in the arena, he is nowhere near as hard as Abbott can be. When Centurion starts the fight you will see Bam coming down the stairs. He is complete with a shiny yellow armor and a spiked knuckle duster. When the fight starts immediatly start circling Bam. Throw a few punchs will dodging his counter attacks. Once you knock him off balance bring up a left-right combo attack. Dodge his next attack then repeat the stradegy. He will die after 15 minutes (just kidding, probably only 30 seconds). Once he is dead you will see a cut scene. Two guards come and collect Riddick then bring him into the drug interrigation room. ------ ABBOTT ------ Inside this room awaits Abbott, with a bat. He proceeds to knock around Riddick then tells the guards to finish him off. However, as Riddick says the dont know messing with. The mysterious female voice talks to Riddicka dn realese the power from within. All of the sudden the camera will change view to outside door. You will hear a loud scream then the door flys off. The two dead guards followed the door. A shaken up Abbott stands up. Right away you will start to face Abbott. Even though my previous stradegy WORKED, I have recieved couple of emails concerning beating this guy. He is hard, but not impossible. I still think my previous stradegy is incedably easy, so I still have to list it. Once the fight starts immediatly attack him non-stop with you fists. DO NOT stop attacking. Abbott will block probably 4/5 of the times you will swing. This stradegy takes a long time, mabye up to 2 minutes. It only requires you to press the right trigger. Just for the sake of some people I will list another way to beat him. If you do the same thing you do with Bam this fight will be much faster but also much more difficult. Anyway once he is dead take his card and his bat. Search the large winding room and you will find another large Nano-Med station. Use it to increase your health to six blocks. Conceal your weapons then go back into Tower 17. Go into the Recreation area and go to section D. Go in the door on the left and you will find a large door with a sign marked "WORK PASS AREA". Go inside to finish this chapter. *ALTERNATE STRADEGY FROM GLEN BELTRAN* I enjoy your faq on riddick and it helps alot. I found the funnest way to kill abbott when you are fighting him after fighting bam. You need to get behind him and grab him and then break his neck like you do in stealth killing.. This method is waaaaay cool. and way fast. one snap of his neck and he is history. thanks /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.18- Work Pass | [318WP] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ The first room in the Work Pass Area is rectangular shaped with three different doors. On the far left you will find a Riot Guard guarding a door. Strait ahead of you on to of a small platform you will find a door that leads into a control room. On the far right tucked away in the dark you will find a door with a keypad. Go over the one on the right and use abbotts key to open the door. When you get inside you will notice that it is Pitch Black. This problem is solved by using your eyeshine ability. Inside this large room is a mechanic and two guards. On the right side of the room is a large flat platfrom that barely rises above the ground level floor. Sneak under it then make some noise. A guard will come snooping around. Wait until he turns his back to you then go up and stealth kill him. Do the same with the other guard. When only the mechanic is left go up and face him in a melee fight. When he is dead take the Vent tool located where he was orignially standing. Now go back to the entrance and face the left side of the room. Behind the large stack of crates and boxes is a wall. On the left side of that wall is a grating. Go inside the grating then follow the vent until you fall down into the lower vent. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.19- Mine Entrance | [319ME] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ This chapter starts off with a cut scene. Riddick is riding on top of an elevator with two guard inside. Once you reach the bottom both guards will walk outside and you will be given back control of Riddick. Wait until the guards completely exit the elevator then jump down inside. The pair of guards walk across a long bridge over an endless pit. On the other side of the area across the bridge is small area carved out of the rock. On the left side of the area are two crates stacked on top on each other. On the right side are two more crates that are lying on the ground floor. Wait until the guards are all the way on the other side then slowly make your wat down the bridge. Climb the crates on the left to get a view of the entire area. Look down at the guard and memorize their patrol patterns. Wait until one of them is alone at the base of the crates. When he has his back turned jump down and sneak attack him. The other guard might notice if you made to much noise and will attack you. No problem, just climb the crates again and he will lose you. Wait until the other guard comes near then jump down. Quickly sneak attack him then look on the exact opposite side fo the area from the two stacked crates. You will see a large tunnel engraved inside the rock. Silently make your way down the tunnel and you will come to another guard. Run out and attract his attention. Quickly run back to the area with the stacked crates and wait for him to follow. When he turns his back to you go up and sneak attack him. Now head back down the tunnel and go into the door marked "Security Checkpoint". /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.20- Security Checkpoint | [320SC] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ I have had at least 20 emails regarding this section. As you may have already guessed, this is can be a very hard to do chapter the first time. The security checkpoint is one of the shortest and hardest chapters in the game. It consists mainly of a long walkway with a large room. There are two exits to the area, both having their pro/cons for taking. I will cover both here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HARD WAY NOW - EASY WAY LATER -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run down the long walkway and look for some crates on the left. Run as fast as you can behind them. No matter how fast you go the guards will still notice, but will dismiss it as something else. Once the guards have lost intrest head across the crates while still sticking to the shadows. Once you reach the last crate peak out to the left and a lone guard will be standing there with his back turned to you. Go up and stealth kill him then drag his body back into the darkness of the crates. This is the part where you have two different choices. Ahead of you are a stack of three crates. To the right of those crates is a Riot Guard along with two normal guards. This is gonna sound easier than it looks, but run your little ass over to the crates and climb up quickly. Turn left and you will see a balcony. Jump up on it then go in the door to the left. Go down the stairs to finish. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EASY WAY NOW - HARD WAY LATER -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Run down the long walkway and look for some crates on the left. Once the guard has his back turned to you go up and stealth kill him. On the left are two crates sitting side by side. Go over and hide behind them and wait for another guard to come snooping around. Take his keycard then run back to the door near the blueskin. Open it up to finish this chapter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF YOU TOOK THE EASY WAY LAST TIME... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your screwed. Just kidding, but this chapter will be harder for you. The guards on the balconies above you will contsantly be on patrol and will go in alert mode if they see you. Never the less this is what I recommend you do. Run as fast as you can down this walkway and hide in the shadows at the end. A guard will most likely notice you and come snooping around. Wait until his back is turned to you then go up and stealth kill him. Go down the walkway to the left just a bit then hide in the shadows on the right. Bang on the wall to attract the attention of one of the guards at the end of the walkway. When the guard loses intrest sneak up and stealth kill him. Quickly run back into the shadows and wait for the other guard to come. When his back is turned go up and stealth kill him. Look for some crates that are piled up sloppily. There are several crates being lifted up and down by four different lifts. Right now I BEG OF YOU FOR THE LOVE OF GOD use the Nano-Med station because your goind to need the extra health. As I have mentioned before there are four lifts transporting things up and down. Facing the Nano-Med station face right and look at the two lifts. The one farthest away does not have anything moving on it. Wait until it comes down then quickly jump on it before it gets too far. Sometimes the gam will glitch and you will die when you do this. Dont ask me why but it does happen and I pity you. I had a saved game that did this like every time almost. Take this all the way down to the first floor then hop off. Here you will find a miner standing next to a dead guard. Talk to the miner and he will sell you his tranq gun for 50ud. Buy it to make the next couple chapters much easier. On the other side of the room opposite of where the guard is a door. This door leads down into the mining core. Go through it to pass the stage. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.23- Mining Core | [323MC] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ You have finally made it to the Mines. This is the longest chapter in the game, so be prepared to finish it. Once you start head up the stairs directly in front of you. Remember that their is a Nano-Med station in this room in case you ever need it. Go up the small stairs and you will come to a guard with his back turned. Use your Tranq gun to stun him then go up and finish the job [Use the left trigger to stomp on stunned enemies]. Look below the balcony he was guarding to discover a small mining area. A huge rock crushing machine resides in the middle along with three enemies. On the right side of the area is a Riot Guard. Another guard is patrolling around the left side of the area. Near the guard is a mechanic. First shoot the guard with your tranq gun. Next shoot the Mechanic. Hop over the guard rail and into the mining area. Stick to the left side of the area and you will find a power box. Use it to shut off the power for the rail defense system. On the far right side of the area is a elevator. Remember the three way hallway you started in at the beginning of this chapter? If you looked around you would have noticed another branch going out to the right and leading into the mining area. First of all you need to stomp the mechanic and the guard you stunned. Next run out in front of thr Riot Guard [No im not kidding]. Quickly run inside the hallway but make sure the Riot Guard is close enough so that the door doesnt shut on him. Now run up the stairs to the right and jump over the guard rail. Its a bit tricky but once its over you wont have to worry about the Riot Guard anymore. When your ready to continue start going down the huge hallway to the left of your current position. When you reach the corner go right. Stay up against the wall on the right side of the hallway. When you reach the corner peek out and you will see the a large mining area. Directly ahead of you is a Riot Guard and two normal guars. If you attack them head on you will most likely die, so I recommend doing this. Run out and shoot the Riot Guard to temporarily stun him. Quickly run back into the hallway to avade being killed by the guards. Hide inside a dark area and wait for the guards to come past. Stun them both with your tranq gun then go up and stomp'em. When they are both dead head back into the large mining area and shoot the Riot Guard. In the few seconds that he is stunned look for some crates on the right. Underneath one of them is a small passage. Run inside the passage and you will see a man standing there. This is Jagger Valance, the man you have been searching for. Go up and talk to him. You will find out that in order for him to help you will need to do him a favor. A room on the other side of the area is filled with lethal gases and inside is a package that he needs. He would do it himself, but his lungs arent what they used to be. Now look stay to the right side of the wall and you will come to a guard and two miners. Shoot the guard then go up and stomp him [If the miners attack kill them too]. TO your left should be some crates stacked close to each other. Stay behind these as you follow the path. Ive drawn a map to help. ____________________________ | PATH OF CRATES \ ||/=== - Crate | === === === === === MINERS \ | = || | | - Wall | ||JAGGER \ || | OPEN AREA ____/ || |____________ || / | | | / <- GAS ROOM | | | __________| | | Eventually the crates will start to thin making you visible. To the left in the wide open area are a couple of guards patrolling the area. Peak out between each crate and stun them with your tranq gun. When all of them are stunned go out into the open. Immediatly stomp all the guards to kill them then look for a ramp on the far left side of the area. Quickly run up it and stun the guard to the right. Stomp him to finish the job then go in hallway on the right. Go down the stairs to the left and you will find a door taped up. Go inside the door and you will find the gas chamber. Make your way through until you come to some crates with a hole in the wall. Jump on top of the crates then crouch. Go through the hole and look down the slope to the left. Near the body on the ground is the package. Pick up the package then quickly go back through the gas chamber. Take the package back to Jagger but watch out for the patrolling Riot Guard. Go over and talk to him. He tells you that above the gas room you were just in is a den of dangerous creatures. The man you need to see to get the bomb is located in Tower 19. Make your way back to the cargo transport area. Remember how we went down last time? This time you need to go up. The lift that will take you up is located on the far left side. Wait until it comes to the bottom and a crate will load onto it. Jump on the crate and you will begin moving up. Instead of getting of at floor number two and going all the way back through three chapters we are going to take the shorter route. Wait until the lift gets to floor three then hop off. Go inside the door to your right and you will come out above a ventalation shaft. Carefully jump down on top of it. On the left side is a bust on the outside of the shaft. Carefully climb into it then continue down the shaft. You are now in the elevator that you came down in. Use the keycard to take the elevator up. When you reach the top of the run out and you will be in a rectangular area with an electric fence. On the left side of the area is one lone crate stacked up against a wall. Pull yourself up onto the crate then shimmy on the wall. Move left while hanging on to the ledge. When you are under the hanging rail pull yourself up then grab on. Move down the rail to go over the room with the riot guard in it. When you get to the end drop down on to the wall. Conceal your weapon then drop down into the Mine Entrance room. Go to the far left side of the room and use your key card to get in the door. Remember this room? It used to be all dark, but that is now fixed. Sneak underneath the small platform and look at the door on the right. Unlike your previous visit here the door is now unlocked. A guard is patrolling around the door. Shoot him with your tranq gun then go up and stomp him. Use yoour keycard to open the door then go into the ventalation shaft. Follow the shaft and you will go above the feedward. Shoot out the lights here to prevent the guards from locating you. Shoot the guard to stun him then go up and stomp'em. Go around the hallway and take out the lights with the control panel. Continue on and shoot the guard here. Quickly stomp him then continue around the caged area. When you come to the guard shoot him then stomp him. Go right from here and take out the next guard. Near the guard you just killed is a ventalation shaft. Go inside then follow the shaft until it ends. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.24- Tower 19 | [324TW] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Continue down this short shaft and you will come to a immediate fall. When you fall inside the room quickly take out the guard then go up and stomp him to end the job. Use the computer terminal near the shaft to open the cell doors so you may talk to Jupiter. Now face your back toward the computer terminal and look to the left. Tucked away inside the darkness is a door. Go inside it and you will come to the cell block. Standing out on one of the doors is Jupiter. Go talk to him and he will hand over the bomb. Once him and Riddick are done talking two guards will ambish you. Quickly shoot them both with your tranq gun to stun them then go up and stomp them. Cells should be repeatedly coming in and out of the area. When one gets close enough hop on to end this chapter. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.25- Container Router | [325CR] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Ride the Cell for a few seconds and will come to a stop. The power is down and you must reactivate it. When your cell comes to a complete stop two guards will start firing at you from the end of the tracks. Shoot them with your tranq gun to stun them then go over and stomp'em to finish the job. On the side of the Cell that you just hopped off of is a small opening with a ladder. Turn on your eyeshine then go down the ladder. When you come to the room with the heavy mist look near the corners to find the exit to this room. Go through and stun the guard that appears. Stomp him then go through this room and you will come to another ladder. Climb up it to continue to the next area. At the top you will meet up with a guard. Shoot him with your tranq gun to stun him then go up and stomp him. Near where he was patrolling is a ladder. Go UP it then walk along side the small balcony. Go inside the little grating to continue. Follow the shaft until the end then hop out. You will drop down on top of some crates with a guard below. Immediatly shoot him then go up and stomp him. Exit this room via the doorway on your right. Near the wall is a ladder tucked away in the darkness. Climb up it and you will come out in a small hallway. Facing you is a non-active turret. Climb up then go down a small hallway. In the next room is a guard and a Nano-Med station. Run inside the room and quickly stun the guard with your tranq gun. Go up and stomp him then use the Nano-Med station if necessary. To your right is a Hallway that has an overlook of the Cell Transport station you were just in. At the end of the hallway is a Mechanic fixing a computer. Use your tranq gun to stun him then go up and stomp him. Use the computer terminal to start your cell back up again. Look down at the transport area at your cell. View helplessly as your Cell crashs. You are now forced to find another Cell. Go back down the hallway then look for the grating that you had previously came from. Jump in and go down the ventalation shaft. Go to the end of the shaft then go down the ladder. Go back through this room then into the next one. Go past the dead guard and open the door with your new Red Security Key Card. The next part of this chapter consists of several hallways populated not only by guards but they also contain several tripwires. If you accidentally run through one of the beams it will alert the security system. You do not want to alert the security system. This activates the securtiy turrets [Which if your playing on normal or hard means your pretty much dead]. In order to stun the tripwire for a short amount of time you will have to shoot the power box from which it is coming from. By the way, the tripwires are hard to spot unless you have eyeshine on. Proceed into the next hallway and take out the guard with your tranq gun. Go up and stomp him then turn your eyeshine on. Look for the tripewire. On the wall is a small box from which the tripwire is drawing its power. Shoot it with your tranq gun to disable the beam then continue into the next hallway. Stun the guard here then go up and stomp him. Continue on and you will come to a very long dark hallway with a guard on patrol. Shoot him then run up and stomp his head. Go down the hallway and you will come to three way junction. Sneak into the hallway on the left of the large security door. Inside this hallway is a mechanic. Shoot him with your tranq gun to stomp him. Use the computer terminal here. The generator has failed and you will need to reactivate the back up generator. Go back into the three way junction room. Go up to the large security door but dont go in yet. At the beginning of this hallway is a laser tripbeam. Turn on your eyeshine then shoot the box to disable it. Go down the hallway and around the corner and you will come across another tripbeam. Shoot the power source to disable it then go around the corner. Quickly shoot the guard with your tranq gun then go up and stomp him. In this room is a Nano-Med station, so use it if your low on health. Follow the hallway until you come to the transport station. Its completely dark so your going to have to use your eyeshine. Shoot the two guards in this area then go up and stomp them both. Look around the tracks for anothers passage with a ladder. Go down it and you will drop in a room with a large switch. Flip it to restore power. Now go back up the ladder. Make your way back to the three way junction room. Go over to the computer terminal where you killed the mechanic. Use the computer terminal here to reactivate the cell transporting process. Now make your way back down to the station and stay on the side of the tracks. Cells will be repeatedly moving across the tracks and down into the hole on the right side of the area. Wait until one of them is at the top of the hole then quickly jump on. It might take a few tries but once your on sit back and enjoy the ride. On the way down you will meet up with some tripbeams [unavoidable, so dont worry]. When you get to the bottom jump off onto the little balcony. Go inside the small grating here to continue. Follow the ventalation shaft all the way to the Mining Core. When you reach the end jump out and you will be in the area where you first met Jagger. From here travel across the large canyon room and into the gas chamber. Quickly go over to where you first found the package for Jagger. A cut scene will be displayed in which Riddick lights the bomb. Riddick then walks back out into the hallway. He is stopped by a Riot Guard, who takes a few seconds to realize its Riddick. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.26- Crash Site | [326CS] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ When this chapter starts you will view a rather lon cut scene. Riddick is being strapped down and transported in a holding cell. The Riot Guard will turn you over to the normal guards. They strap you down and the cell begins to move. During the transportation an explosion occurs [I wonder where from...]. The Cell falls and crashs. The cells computer A.I. announces that the Cell has gone into emergency mode. Everything dims but slowly starts coming back into focus. One of the guards stands up and puts the Cell in full emergency mode. The door of the Cell opens up after a few seconds. Riddick is released from his straps, only to met by a shotgun aiming at his face. One of the two guards strolls outside to find out what happen. The other guard stays here to guard you but looks like hes gonna crap his pants. When your back in control go up the guard and he will try to melee attack you. Quickly press the right trigger to perform a reversal and kill the guard. Go out of the cell and turn on your eyeshine. Follow the tracks to your right and you will come to a large hole. The game goes into cut scene mode from here. Riddick peeks around the rocks at the guard who is talking on his radio. After a few seconds he starts looking again. A large monster comes out of the hole behind him. A minature of the monster pops off its back and silently sneaks up to the guard. It silently cuts his head off then drags him back into the large hole. Once you are back in control immediatly jump into the hole that the Xeno came out of. No im not joking, you need to jump down the hole. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.27- Abandoned Equipment Center | [327AE] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ This chapter places you inside the hole you just jumped down. In front of you is the dead guard. Start walking up to him and the corpse will be pulled away by a tenticle. He leaves his shotgun behind for you [Yes! Finally a gun!]. Keep going down the tunnel and you will come to a dirty outcropping. The large Xeno monster will break out of the wall on your right. Quickly run around the Xeno then into the tall doorway behind it. Shoot all the Xeno that come attack you then continue down the hall. The room you come to has a large ramp on the left and another hallway on the right. Several Xeno will start coming down the ramp and out of the hallway. The most annoying thing about Xeno is that they respawn every few seconds. That means you will have to stay in each area and wait for the waves to stop coming. You could also run through the room taking a few out on the way, but that is risky and has a large potential to fail. Anyway quickly take out the Xeno in here then hide in one of the corners. Defend the room from all the Xeno that attack you. Once they are all dead head into the hallway that used to be to the right of you. Here lay the ruins of a bridge. A few Xeno will immediatly attack you. Kill all of them and their spawn then look for a guard on the bridge. Walk up to him to collect some shotgun ammo then head back to the room with the ramp in it. Take out any Xeno that appear then head up the ramp. Jump over to the wall on the right then climb up. To the right of your position is another dirt ramp. Kill the Xeno that come down the ramp then wait for their spawn. Blast them once they come then go up the dirt ramp. Go right and take out any Xeno then climb up into the hallway. Murder all the Xeno in the hallway then go down it. You will come to two crates stacked on top of each other. They are pressed against a wall. Dont jump over just yet, wait for the Xeno spawn to attack. When the Xeno come blast them all. Make sure they are dead [They will attack you will climbing if they are still alive] then climb up on top of the crates. Climb on top of the wall then hop over. To your left is a locked door that uses a mechanical key. Go down the path to your right and kill the two Xeno that attack you. Go around the corner and kill the Xeno here. Go into the next area to advance. Blast the two Xeno in here then go over to the area with a Vent hanging overhead. Next to the vent is a crate with a ventool laying on top of it. Right were the vent meets the wall is a grating. Go over and press X when it is highlighted. Riddick grabs on to the edge and pulls himself then flips into the vent. Follow the shaft until the end then jump out. Immediatly kill the Xeno here then look around. Use the Power box to turn on the lights in the facility. Go in the next room and you will see a large drilling machine. No you can't drive it, but later you will get to use it. Anyway go into the door that leads out of the garage and into a dark area. You will come out on the other side of the ruined bridge. If any Xeno spawn here blast them then look around for a dead guard. When you find him go over and take the key. At the base of your side of the bridge is a small area filled with cement blocks. Above it is some steel wiring that runs all the way to the other side of the bridge. Look up at it and press X and Riddick will swing up on it. Use the cables to go all the way over the pit and onto the other side. Drop down once you reach the other side and take out the Xeno. Go back into the room with ramp. Go up the ramp and into the hallway. Use the two crates to jump over the wall. Now use the key on the door to your left and it will open up. Kill all the Xeno in here then go into the next room. A Power Cell charger is located in this room, but we have one problem. Riddick doesent have a powercell. The next part of the chapter can be extremely difficult due to the amount of Xeno in the area. Use the power station in here to turn the lights on. Use the door on your right and you will be in a long hallway. Now make a run for it and take out any Xeno that come in your way. When you reach the end go inside the door then go left through the small room. Inside this room is a prototype assault rife along with a ton of shotgun ammo. In addition to that there is a powercell. Grab everything then look to the back of the room. There is a ventalation shaft from which several Xeno will come out. Once by one splatter their guts all over the wall. Once they stop coming head back into the previous hallway. Run down the hallway and take out any Xeno that attack you. Once you are in the next room go over to the Power Cell recharger. Use it to charge up the powercell then continue through the next room. When you come to the ventalation shaft hanging out of the wall hop inside. Make your way back to the drill then use the powercell to start it up. Start the drill up and watch it power through the wall. Walk into the room the drill opened up then blast the Xeno away. Crawl into the broken ventalation shaft to end the chapter. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.28- Central Storage | [328CS] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Continue down the ventalation shaft and you will come out overlooking a small room. Below you is a guard that is fighting off Xeno that keep attacking him. You cannot get down nor can you shoot the guard so dont try. Continue down the ventalation shaft until you reach the end. Kick out the small grating and you will fall on top of a small balcony. Above you is a hangrail. Look up and press X. Riddick will jump up on it. On the other side of the hangrail is a balcony with Xeno blood [Green Plasma substance] spread all over the wall. Climb on over there then jump down. Go in the tunnel here then jump down when you come to the small dark shaft. Before you go down pop the two Xeno that show up. Go down the shaft and you will come to a room with a guard in it. To the right is a door that is the beggining of one of two paths you need to go down to advance. In front of the guard is a door with Xeno pouring out. The guard is quickly blasting them once they come through the door. Shoot the guard in the head and the Xeno will stop coming. There are two ways to get to your destinanation from here. If you go in the door to the right you will be going the hard way. If you go in the door ahead of you that the Xeno were pouring out of then you will be taking the easy way. Im just going to cover the easy way for now. Go inside the door ahead of you and you will be in a large storage area with crates stacked high. At the base of the crates are two guards fighting off the Xeno that keep attacking. Use this little civil war to your advantage and take both the guards and Xeno out at the same time. When everything is dead look for a crate on the left side of the forklift. Climb on up it then up the one next to it. Shoot the Xeno here then look to the right. Quickly leap on top of the forklift. Jump over the gap and onto the crates that were previously on the other side of the room. Immediatly shoot the Xeno that is waiting on the crates for you then head down the crates to the right. Hop inside the ventalation shaft and continue. Keep going down the shaft and you will come to a junction. There is another shaft in the dark area of this room. Go inside the shaft and quickly kill the Xeno that spawns there. Follow the shaft until you come to a tall circular room. In the middle of the room is a ladder. Go down it and you will come to the base of the room. Go inside the shaft at the bottom. The ventalation shaft leads to a large room. Inside the room is a Riot guard fending off a large Xeno. You fall on top of some staced crates. To your right is a door with a yellow light on top of it. Quickly jump down to the ground level then go inside the door. The door leads into a hallway with a Riot Guard. His back is turned, giving you a perfect view of his weak spot. Switch to your assault rifle and shoot him directly in the back. This will stun him for a second so you can reload. After two clips with the prototype rifle hes pretty much dead. Head down the hallway and you will come to a door with a sign that says "Loading Docks". Go through the door to continue. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.29- Loading Docks | [329LD] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ The first part of this chapter can be very difficult especially if you are low on health and you are playing the hard difficulty. In the next room is a rail defense system, or otherwise known as Turrets. Your going to have to be fast about everything you do. Take out your rifle then run out of the door. To your left is a long balcony with several crates that you can use for cover. Quickly run to the left and hide behind the first set of crates. Shoot any Xeno that attack you then make a run for the second crates. On the other side of the room to the far right is another balcony. Two guards are standing on it firing at you. Shoot the two guards then make a run for the next set of crates. Take out any enemies that come for you then head through the door on the left side. Shoot the guard in here then go down the hallway. Go inside the elevator then flip the switch. The elevator will take you up. When you reach the top walk out and shoot the guard then use the Nano-Med station as you probably need it. Go down the long hallway and into the next room. Flip the elevator switch here then go inside the elevator. When the elevator stops kill the two guards. Take a look around. You are in an absolutly huge room with a large elevator on the right side. Go inside it and press the switch on the left wall to make it go up. When the elevator stops run behind the crates on the left side. In the next area is a Riot Guard and two normal guards. Run out and let them notice you then go back behind the crate. The Riot guard will come looking for you, but will stop right next the corner of the crate. Wait until he turns his back then sneak out. Drop a clip on his back armor then quickly reload while hes stunned. Shoot another clip of bullets at his back and the Riot Guard will fall. Now shoot the guards to death then go on the left side of the area. Go through the door here to continue. Right away you will be attacked by two guards at the end of the hallway. Shoot them both to death then take out any Xeno that spawn here. Continue down the hallway and take out any guards that attack you. On the right side of the next hall is a large machine. Kill the guards inside the room then go up to the machine. Use it and your maximum health will increase to 8 blocks. Keep following the hallway and you will come to another guard patrolling near a door. Take him out then head through the door. Two balconies are in this room and both have guards on them. There are also two guards on the ground level. Kill the two ground level guards first then take out the two guards on the balcony ahead of you. Now turn around and kill the guard above you on top of the balcony. Go collect their ammo then go in the large elevator on the left side of the room. Use the switch to go up. When you reach the top you will be facing a Riot Guard dead on. Quickly run past him before he can react then start circling him. Drop two clips on his back and he will fall dead. Pick up his Minigun then head in the door on the other side of the room. Ahead of you is a control panel with two switches. Kill the guard in here then flip the switch HE WAS NEAR. If you use the other switch you will have to face another Riot Guard. The switch will open a door. Go inside it to complete the chapter. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.30- Fuel Transport | [330FT] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ In this chapter, or room, you willhave your firsy encounter with a Heavy Guard. To put it in a short phrase, Heavy Guards kick ass. They are huge robotic suits that guards can mount in and operate. They're armor is pretty much impenetrable to all bullets. However, the armor is exceptionally weak to explosions/fire. Above the Heavy Guard is fuel being transported across the room. In order to destroy the heavy guard, you are going to have to shoot the fuel tanks as they are moving above it. When the battle starts immediatly run behind one of the many pillars in the room. The fuel tanks you need to shoot come in three different rows. They come by pretty fast, so make sure your ready. You dont have to drop the barrels directly on top of the heavy guard, but they must be pretty close. You most likely have the minigun with you, drop it. Take out a shotgun/assault rifle. Whenever you have the chance, peek out from behind the pillars and shoot the barrals that are above the Heavy Guard. After about 5-8 hits, the Heavy Guard will blow up. Grab your minigun and continue past it. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.31- Hanger | [331HA] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ The hanger is a long tall hallway with a runway coming out from the left. Make sure you have a Minigun when starting this, since you will have to deal with two Riot Guards. Walk forward and a Riot Guard will pop out from behind some crates. Take your Minigun and pump him full of lead. On the other side of the hanger is another Riot Guard, which will have noticed you by now. Do the same thing you did with the previous Riot Guard, just spray him with bullets. Go down the runway to the left and take out all the guards defending the ship. Once everything is dead, go over to the ship and the door will open. Climb up into the door to start the cut scene. Inside the ship is Jagger, who is having a hard time opening the cockpit. Riddick steps in to help Jagger, who steps back talking like an idiot. While Jagger is watching Riddick, Johns sneaks into the ship and punchs Jagger, temporarily knocking him out. He then points a gun to Riddick's head, but hes doesnt know that Riddick has a shiv hidden. Riddick stabbs Johns in the ribs and then the two start to fight. In the midst of the fight Johns drops his gun, and Jagger picks it up. After a few seconds of aiming he fires and accidentally hits Riddick in the ribs. A few seconds later guards come charging into the ship. They shoot Jagger since hes armed. The next scene shows Riddick and Johns once again meeting with with the Hoxie in his office. After threating to kill both of them, he decides Johns will recieve nothing and Riddick will be put in Cryo sleep. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.32- Exersize Area | [332EA] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MONDAY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the Triple Max section of butcher bay. At the start of the chapter you will be awakened. As a Triple Max prisoner you are only intilted to two minutes of exercize each day. Today is monday and you have two minutes to do whatever you want. Each day the Computer A.I. will say phrases and quotes. When your two minutes are up Riddick will fall on the floor and everyting will go black. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TUESDAY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will be awaken on Tuesday. Unlike monday you now have another inmate for company. Too bad that hes unstable and wont talk to you. After two more minutes you will fall to the ground and everything will go dark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WENSDAY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Riddick will revive again on Wensday. After two more minutes Riddick will fall to the ground and everything will go dark. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THURSDAY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you reach thursday Riddick realizes how to escape. By jumping inside of another Inmates cyro cell he can be transported all the way to the Cyro pyramids. When this happens go over to the other guys transport cell and press the X button to make Riddick hop in. The machine arm drops Magico on you but Riddick pushs him off. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.33- Cryo Pyramids | [333CP] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ This chapter begins with a cut scene. Riddick is riding through the transport area and talking about something. Once his cell stops Riddick will hop out. Once you get control you will fall asleep. You will be awoken by a small floating machine poking at you. It will do a little damage. Punch it a few times and it will deactivate. A couple of medium guards will come out of a door near you. Your objective is to get through that door but you cannot fight the medium guards. Quickly run up one of the Cyro Pyramids. Look around to see where the medium guards are walking. Wait until they are a good distance away from the door then run down the pyramid. Quickly run into the door to advance to the next chapter. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.34- Facility Control | [334FC] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Go forward and take a glance to the left. A large see through door with two Medium Guards will be staring back at you. They cannot get through so don't worry. Run down the hallway to the right and look for a shining black object on the ground. Out of it will come on of those little machines [Which will now be called Cyro Droids]. Quickly kill the Cyro Droid then jump down into the hole from wence he came out of. Proceed down the long tunnel filled with red gas and kill any Cyro Droids that get in your way. At the end of the tunnel is a small opening in the cieling. Jump up so that you are in the shimmy position and have a view of the area above. A guard is patrolling around above you. Wait until he has his back turned then go up and crack his gun. Take his gun [By which I mean pistol] then go down the short hallway. Jump down the other hole at the end of the hallway. Shoot all the Cyro Droids that attack you in this hallway. Once they are all dead make your way down the hallway. When you reach the end of the tunnel pull your self up then head up the stairs. To your left are several office cubicals and a computer terminal. Next to the computer terminal is a lone guard with his back turned to you. Quietly go up and crack his neck. A guard will pop out of the room on the right. Quickly shoot him in the head. Use the computer terminal to open all the doors. Two guards will come from behind and attack you. Take them out then grab the ones shotgun and the other ones ammo. Now go back down the stairs and into the tunnel. Go through the red mist and pull your self up. Hop down the other tunnel then head through the red gas. Once again pull yourself up. Ahead of you are two medium gaurds. Despite their approach medium guards actually pretty easy. Shoot them below the circle in the middle of their armor and they will die quickly. Continue down the hallway and you will come to a large storage area. In this room are several inactive medium guards and AN EMPTY HEAVY GUARD layinh in the back. Go over to the heavy gaurd and hop on it [Time to kick some ass]. Press the right trigger to fire the minigun and the left trigger to use the explosive launcher. Immediatly destroy all the medium guards in here to prevent them from being a problem later. Go inside the door on your right and you will be attacked by a heavy guard. Use your minigun to wipe him out then continue down the short hallway and go into the elevator. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.35- Corporate Offices | [336CO] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ When the elevator opens directly in front of you will be a long hallway. To the right of you are several guards at the end of the hall. Stroll out into the hallway and you will get a message from the A.I. in the Heavy Guard. It tells you to walk over minor targets in order to conserve ammo. Should you? Why not? Go to your right and run down the guards then stomp them to death. Now go left and continue down the short hall. Continue down the path and you will eventually come to some medium guards. No problem here, just blast through them with your minigun or explosive launcher. Keep following the hall and take out any guards that get in your way. Eventually you will come to a large area with several large double doors sets. Tucked away in one of the corners is an elevator. Walk your heavy guard into it and the chapter will end. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |3.36- Take off Platform | [336TP] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ When you reach the top walk out. Kill anything in sight and go down the hallway. Follow the hallway and smash any guard that you come at you. You will come to an area with a couple doors. Kill the medium guards and a door will open. In the next room there are two guards. Kill them then out of another door will come a Heavy Guard. Kill it then you will get a message saying that you should exit the unit immediately. Get out and another heavy guard will come out of a door. There is an odd shaped door with a switch next to it. Press the switch and the door will open. Run out a little bit and the game will go into cutscene mode. The cut scene shows Riddick running to the edge of the Take-off platform. When he gets to the ledge he turns around to face some guards and a heavy guard. The heavy guard yells "Give Up Prisoner". But right after he says it a ship fly’s up behind Riddick and you here Johns tell him to get in. Riddick jumps on the Ship and goes inside. Inside the Ship is Johns flying. He tells Riddick that he’s leaving butcher bay and taking Riddick with him. After talking Riddick knocks Johns out and then takes control. However, the ship gets damaged by a missile. Riddick then proceeds to fly the ship into Hoxie’s office window. Riddick gets out and finds Hoxie scared and whimpering. After some talking Hoxie Tricks Riddick and leaves via a secret passage. Out of the doors come Hoxie’s personal guards. Many people think that they are hard but I think they are quite easy. Grab the Minigun on the floor and unleash an unlimited supply of lead into them. When you kill both of them Riddick will walk over to one of them and use its rocket launcher to open up Hoxie’s Secret Room. Out comes Hoxie and he bangs his head on the desk. With Hoxie begging for his life Riddick asks for the codes to his ship. Hoxie tells Riddick that there in his desk. Johns will now wake up. Riddick asks him if he can walk and run. After there done talking Riddick turns to Hoxie and quietly asks him "How’s your eyesight". After that you will see Johns being escorted down a hallway by a guard. All of the Sudden two guards will come rushing down the hallway screaming that they have a hostage situation. They also say to Riddick on sight. When they arrive in Hoxie’s office they see someone sitting in Hoxie’s Chair. He’s dressed in a Triple Max suit and is wearing goggles. They fire Away, thinking its Riddick. Once they shine their flashlight on him, they find out who they really shot. The next scene shows Hoxie’s ship climbing out of the prison. Inside is Johns and at the control is the guard. The guard takes of his helmet to reveal that he is Riddick. After talking a bit they blast of higher until they’re out of sight. Wait until the credits are over and you will see a teaser for the Chronicles of Riddick movie. /===========================================================================\ 0=============================================================================0 |4) Side Quests | [04SQU] | | 0=============================================================================0 \===========================================================================/ /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 |4.01- Cigarette Pack Locations | [301CL] | | 0-----------------------------------------------------------------------------0 \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cigeratte Pack Number - #35 Manufacturer - Bloss Warning - Do Not feed to Children Reward - Game Concept art 32 Location - When you first start the game you will find your self outside the entrance to buthcer bay. once you have cracked johns necks, one of the prisoners will open a hatch behind you.
