What's in this FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------ This shows you the location of the hidden Snowmen found throughout the levels of Amped for the Xbox. WHY CARE? If you find and smash all 8 snowmen in each level, it increases your ranking, which in turn lets you raise your stats and get access to more levels. ------------------------------------------------------------------ II. Stuff to Read So You're Not Confused ------------------------------------------------------------------ - THESE ARE NUMBERED IN ORDER, the way the icons are filled in on the Challenges screen (push Pause during the game, and pick Challenges). So if you look at the screen and you see that you're missing, say, the fifth snowman, then don't do any math, and go directly to number 5 on the list. Hopefully, this won't wear anybody out brain-wise, and keep everyone fit and able to keep snowboarding on the Xbox. - A FEW TIPS: The biggest one is from the sound. You must have the Voice Volume turned up to hear them, but they giggle and taunt you in various ways depending on how close you're getting to them. It's kind of like playing "Warmer, Colder" with them. First it's the laugh, then comes them calling "Hey Amigo", then, when you're about to score, they sing, "bum, bum, ba-dump-dump-dum-dum, dum dum dum" to a silly little tune. You will have to strain to hear which side it's coming from, and will eventually become tuned in to their voice. Headphones or Surround Sound will especially help. Caution: YOU MAY GO INSANE. No big deal, but you may hear "bum bum ba dum" from strange places in the house for days afterward, and may even desire to look just to make sure. It's normal, let it pass. - IF I SAY "Halfway down from Wrenway Hollow", I mean about half the distance from where you start to the bottom. I don't mean you need to measure from the top of the mountain, recall coordinates, or anything barbaric like that. - Check the MAP - yes, there is kind of a map if you press Start. It's too bad MS didn't include a real one that you could actually look around. This just helps to get a relation of where you are or remember where something is. A good way is to push start, then push New Run, even if you aren't going to start over, and watch it pan from where you are to where you started. Then, when you push B, it'll pan back. It at least can help sometimes. - Once you find them, you must still FINISH THE COURSE so it can save it, or you will be sorry and the snowmen will laugh at you. - This FAQ is still being added to, but I'd like to complete it. So if I can get the time to keep it updated, I will. If not, at least this will serve as a help for many of them. - NO CHALLENGE = NO FUN, but FRUSTRATION = NO FUN, too. So, I tried to work both ways in this FAQ. To leave some room to explore, I first NAMED A BASIC LANDMARK or basic area to go for, so that if you want, you can still do some more exploring on your own. BUT, FOR THOSE OF US THAT ARE GOING CRAZY, I included everything I could to ruin-the-fun/solve-the-frustration for everyone. There are often more ways than one to reach these snowmen, of course, so I'll do my best to describe roughly where they are, and add some tips from how I happened to reach them myself. ------------------------------------------------------------------ III. SNOWMAN LOCATIONS ------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------- ---= Brighton 1 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - In the Pale Green Building - Snowboard through the Pale Green building. Go straight down the main path of Hawk eye and about 3/4 of the way down you'll see the pale green building on the left. Snowboard right through the little hallway in it, and you'll hit it. 2 - Small Wood Building - From Majestic, follow along under the ski lift, almost to the bottom. It's right in front of the small wooden building. 3 - Behind Low-Roof Building - Right near the bottom on the back of a building where it's roof slopes down to the ground on both sides. It's on the left side of that roof. It's easy to find if you go from the wooden building mentioned in #2, and then just cut right after that, and you'll see it. 4 - Beyond the Banners - Go straight down the main path of Majestic, and then jump the banners at the end of that path when they try and force you to the right. Right after you jump it, you should see it to your left just after the trees end. 5 - Behind the Green Ramps - At the very beginning of Majestic, right on the other side of the couple green ramps in front of you. 6 - Logs in the Forest - From HawkEye, dive right into the thicket of trees and snowboard down for a while until you see some logs on the ground. The snowman is on the left of one of those. 7 - Large Wood Building - Down HawkEye, along the right, in a group of trees right after the big wooden building and a small hill, about 3/4 of the way down. Once you see the wooden building, a small hill will be in the way of seeing it, so it's right past that. 8 - Space in the Trees - From Majestic, it's about half way down, in the trees to the left, in a small blank space between them. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Snow Summit 1 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Under Ski Lift - Go down Miracle Mile and almost 3/4 of the way down start following under the ski lift lines. It's right between two ski lift posts. 2 - Ledge down West Ridge - Start out at West Ridge and take the path to the right into the blue halfpipe. Exit the halfpipe and continue down to the right down that main path without going into the trees. You'll pass the brown ski lift building on the left, and you'll soon see it on a short ledge to your right. It's pretty easy to get once you know where it is. 3 - By Yellow Ramp - At the start of Miracle Mile, just go straight a little ways (staying on the right of the trees) and cut left into the trees right before the yellow ramp. There it is. 4 - Hill by the Stream - Start out at West Ridge and then somehow go into those thick woods right in front of you for a long while until you come to the little frozen stream going through the middle of it. *Note: There's a similar hill with a camera man on top. That's not it, keep going past that. 5 - Skinny Path - Start at West Ridge, and take the left path. Head down for a while past a bunch of green, yellow, and red ramps. But, when you come to a single, small green ramp with a camera man right over it, take the little path to the left of it through the woods. Just follow that path for a while and it will be right there in the middle of it. 6 - Blue Halfpipe - Start at West Ridge, and go right into the blue halfpipe. Just as it ends, exit to the left and cut through the break in the red fence, into the trees. If you stay just going slightly to the left, you should see it straight ahead of you. 7 - End of the Stream - Right at the end of the Frozen steam mentioned in #4, to the right. 8 - Trees to the Right - Start our on Miracle Mile, and vere right down the big main path, follow it down staying to the right by the green fence. When the Green Fence first ends for a minute, there's a small hill in front of you, and it's on the other side of that in some trees. There will be a small hill on its left, and a rail to its right. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Gunny's Gulch =--- ---------------------------------------------- OverView: There are about 3 along the right side around the rails and train tracks. 1 - Right Through the Flags - You'll hear this one right from the beginning. It's very close to the start, all you have to do is vear sharply to the right through the flags, go about 20 feet, and you'll see it. 2 - Red Half Pipe - Go straight from the start and it's very close, right behind the left half of the first red half-pipe. 3 - The Right Side Rail - Go to the right side, and along the wall there's a pipe that you can ride to an upper ledge. Immediately off the pipe, along the left side of the edge, is the snowman. Note: the rail is slightly hidden by a snowy jump, so it'll probably take some time to learn it's location, and the angle and speed to get up it. 4 - Down the Right Cliff - About 3/4 of the way down, along the right side. If you just follow that side along, after a bunch of rails and stuff, you'll see it just a little ways up on the red cliff. You can get it by just getting enough speed and going up the cliff right by the snowman, where the cliff shallows a little bit. The difficulty is more in finding a way by the rails and obstacles to get enough speed. I found it easier to just climb the cliffs earlier on the first rail up, and then just riding it out and dropping onto the ledge with the snowman. 5 - Left Arch-Bridge - Continue on the hill from #6 (although you can climb the hill further down, which is easier), and you'll reach a narrow arch on the left that's just after a camera man. Ride across the top of the arch (railslide is easiest) and there's one right in the middle of it in plain sight. 6 - The Center Hill - Go straight through the upper halfpipes from the beginning, and you'll see a hill with signs in front of it. If you go just the the right of the last sign in front, and ride up the hill, there's a snowman right there at the top. You'll need some good speed to get up there. 7 - Right Patch of Trees - This one is about half way down, a little to the right of the middle, down a hill, in a patch of trees. Start by going straight, and vering to the right of the big hill that #6 is on. Just after that hill flattens out to the left of you, you should pass up a camera man, vere right down a small hill, and there it is hidden in a small patch of trees. 8 - Right Arch-Bridge - Half-way down, a little right of center, atop a high, red-rock hill with a camera man. This one's pretty tough. To find it, start out by going straight and going onto the big center hill that's been mentioned in #6 and others. Eventually cross to the right side of the hill, and you'll soon come to an arch that bridges over to the right. On the other side of it, is a camera man and a snowman. You CAN railslide that arch to get to it, but because of the placement on the hill, it's still pretty hard. I'd say, either do it that way, or build up your speed and hit the hill straight on. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Brighton 2 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Hill on Thunder Road - Thunder Road, if you stay down the main path along the right, you'll see it up on a hill about 1/3 of the way down. To get enough speed to get it, there's kind of a path way to cut through the trees to the right a little before it, and you can come at it from that angle. 2 - Under Ski Lift - Crest Express, go straight down the main path and it will take you under the ski lift lines. Keep going over the big drop, and then continue. Then, you'll see a camera man next to a small snow-ramp with a branch sticking out of it. Go around it by going slightly to the left, and you should see it. 3 - On Top of Pale Green Building - HawkEye, The same green building you went through before, but this time it's on top. It's about 3/4 down from HawkEye. You can ramp up to it from the little side ledge that leads up to the building. Try and land on the roof in front of it and slide up. You may need to wait until your stats are up to get this one. 4 - Behind Yellow Ski Lift Building - Wren Hollow, start out going on the trodden path that goes right. Keep following it, and even when it starts to break up, continue in that general direction (without hitting things). Up ahead you should see a yellow Ski lift. Go to the left of it and a little behind it and you'll see a blue fence. Follow it to the right, and where it ends, cut left just enough to go down the hill and into the trees. Straight ahead of you is the Snowman. 5 - Left Side Wren Hollow - Wren Hollow, along the left side of the left path from Wren Hollow. To reach it easily, start going to the left into the trees to get on the other side of it, and watch to your right. You should soon see it pretty easily on top of a small ramp/hill on your right. 6 - Left Crest Express - Crest Express, go up the left edge at the start, pass the camera man, and continue straight until you see a snowman right on the edge in front of you. 7 - Top of Crest Express - Crest Express, from the start, head right and drop over the hill into the clearing. Follow that little path a short ways and you'll see it. 8 - On Top of Gray Building - HawkEye, Another one you'll need some good stats for. Right at the bottom, on the right, there's the gray lodge, and if you come at it from the left, you'll see a small snow-made ramp in front of it. Ramp off of it and railslide along the top of the building to get the snowman. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Stratton 1 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Right down American Express - American Express, keep following along the right about 3/4 of the way down, and you'll come to a bunch of big pipes and red rails. Stay in the middle of them, and soon a high gray rail will come right in the center, and it's underneath inside the stilts of that ramp. 2 - Before Red Rail - American Express, stay right, go down to pass a couple pipes, and you'll see a big red rail coming up. Cut left right before you get to that red rail and you'll see it. It's right in front of an igloo. 3 - Lip of Gree Halfpipe - Lower Standard, take the first left and follow the main path almost all the way to the bottom. Near the bottom, you'll see a blue ramp; cut to the right. You should see it up a small hill. Get it and you'll drop right into the green halfpipe. 4 - On Hill down Lower Standard - Lower Standard, take the second left this time, and follow that path a short ways. You'll soon see a snowman on a small snowhill in front of you. 5 - Top American Express - American Express, start by going left, pass the camera guy, then pass the first long pipe and it'll be right there in front of you. 6 - Pipe down Lower Standard - Lower Standard, take the first left and about 3/4 of the way down, you'll see it in plain sight on on of the pipes in the path. 7 - On top of Gray Building - Lower Standard, go to the green Halfpipe mentioned in #3, and at the end of it, jump to the right and try to land on top of the low roof of the short gray building. Ride along the roof and you'll see it at the end. 8 - Wooden Stilts down Lower Standard - Lower Standard, take the first left, and very soon you'll see some rails on wooden stilts. It's underneath, inside the wood part of the structure. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Altabahn 1 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Behind First Hill - Megaschlucht, make an easy left, it's behind one of the first medium size hills to the left. Easiest to get to if you go around the hill on the left side. 2 - Right Hill by the Cliff - Megaschlucht, Almost half way down, coming from the Megaschlucht side and heading towards the middle of the mountain (so, aiming a little to the right from where you start), just before the BIG drop into the big blue trench. Before the big drop, there's kind of a wide gap that forms between two hills. Go up the right side to the top of that hill right before the cliff. It's behind a small fence by a couple trees and a camera man. 3 - High Ledge of the Cliff - Megaschlucht, go a little further than #2, along the edge before the big drop. Find the place where when you go over the cliff, you land on a little ledge before you hit the bottom. It's along the ledge right before a camera man. 4 - Trees at the Bottom - Gletscherbahn, In some trees near the bottom just to the right of some telephone lines. 5 - Low Ledge in the Valley - Megaschlucht, half way down. Down in the big blue trench up on a little hill/ledge to the left. Pretty easy to find. 6 - Right Hill Near the Bottom - Gletscherbahn side, go almost all the way down, and it's on top of a hill right before you go off a small cliff. 7 - Patch of Trees - Near the beginning on the Gletscherbahn run, go as left as you can past the first group of trees to a small patch of trees up a little hill. In the middle of the trees. 8 - Other Side of the Cliff - This one's the toughest to get. Right on the other side of the big gap where the telephone lines reach the other side. Maybe if you can upgrade your speed you could go straight up the hill it's on. Or you could catch the telephone line and ride it across the cliff. ---------------------------------------------- ---= SlopeStyle =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Behind Small Red Ramp - From SlopeStyle, go about a third of the way down. Pass the Gray bridge on your left, then a small yellow ramp, and it's right behind that small red ramp. 2 - Left Side of Stairs - SlopeStyle, follow about half way down, and there will be a couple sets of cement stairs (by a camera man). It's right at the top of those on the left side. There's a wall on your left leading up to them and he's right at the end of that. 3 - Behind the Second Bridge - Behind the second bridge crossing the frozen stream, on the right side of the overpass. I suggest you take Tenku down to the second bridge and cross behind it going right. 4 - On the Green Ramp - Follow along the left side of Tenku about 2/3 of the way down, and a little after you pass the wall, there will be a green double ramp. It's right on that in plain site. 5 - On the Left Wall - Follow down the left from Tenku, and you'll come to a wall. He's on the last section of that wall. 6 - Under a Rail Near the End - From SlopeStyle, follow along the right side. Near the end, there will be a big red rail on the right side, right before the big red house. It's under that. 7 - On First Tenku Hill by Camera Man - Take Tenku, follow straight down and there's a medium size hill by a camera man. He's on the hill, kind of on the back end of it. I found the easiest way to get it is to hit the little rock on the front of it to jump and hit it, rather than trying to ride up the hill. 8 - On the First Bridge - from Tenku, near the beginning. Go about a fourth of the way down until there's the big gray bridge that crosses the frozen stream. It's on the bridge. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Snow Summit 2 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Top of Ego Trip - From Ego trip, immediately hug the right wood fence and go through the first gap in it. Go a short ways and it's there in the woods. 2 - Woods from Summit Trip - Take Summit Trip and start following the ski lift. As soon as it gets close to the woods, on the left of the post with the green base, is the snowman. 3 - Left from Miracle Mile - Go far left from Miracle Mile, along the red fence. Right after the fence ends, cut right into the woods, and there it is. 4 - Left Woods from West Ridge - From West Ridge, stay left, pass the blue ramp and then the yellow ramp. He's left of the yellow ramp, in the woods. 5 - By the Stream - From West Ridge, vere left into the woods. Find the stream in the woods. Near the beginning of the stream, there's a big hill on the left. It's behind that hill, a little ways into the woods. 6 - By Green Fence - From Miracle Mile, go down most of the way. Go near the bottom, and there's some green fencing on the left. Go to the left of the green fencing and stay between the fence and the woods. It's on the left, by one of the gaps in the fences. 7 - Past Blue Halfpipe - Start out left from Ego Trip, and follow a short ways until you come to a long, blue halfpipe. As soon as you exit the halfpipe, go right and there it is. 8 - Behind Yellow Ramp - Go near the bottom of Miracle Mile. It's right behind a yellow ramp. If you follow the ski lift, then near the bottom, go right of the last woods patch, and you should see it. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Stratton 2 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - By Yellow Pole - From Gondola, go right and then take the path that is farthest right. Follow it down for a ways passing up pipes and a couple camera guys. Stay on the right path and soon it will be up on the left side of the path, by a pole with a yellow base. 2 - Behind Hill From American Express - Take American Express, stay right and go about half way down. One of the big pipes ends on a big hill. It's right behind that. 3 - Up on Right Hill - From Gondola, go straight a ways and pass up the blue ramp for #6, go a little further after that until the path sort of splits and you can go right. Take that right path that dips down and curves up on the right side. Soon you'll see the snowman up on the right of that path. 4 - Middle of the Path - From Gondola, go right and go down a ways, and then about the time you see the shed #5 is on, don't take the path that's furthest right, take the one just next to it. Follow it down a short ways and you should see the snowman sitting right smack in the middle of the path. 5 - On top of Shed - From Gondola, go right a short ways until you see it on top of a small shed. Jump up and get it. 6 - On Blue Ramp - From Gondola, go left at first and just stay on that path. You'll see it on top of a blue quarterpipe in plain site. 7 - Left of Rail Pipe - From Lower Standard, stay on paths left of the ski lift and go most the way down. Behind a blue quarterpipe, there's a pipe half covered with snow. It is on the left, practically touching the pipe. 8 - Under a Rail - Take Lower standard and follow the ski lift post the way. Near the bottom, go left of the ski lift, and its under a high rail that goes between two hills of snow. It's right before you reach a shack on the left. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Altibahn 2 =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - High Tree Patch - Start from Steilbahn and go as far left as you can, staying up on the ridge. It's hidden in the first patch of trees. He's far left and hard to still a little hard to find without going out of bounds. 2 - Past Tower - Start from Steilbahn and go as far left as you can, staying up on the ridge, and keep going for a while. Go to where you start seeing the power poles. Go between the cameraman and the power tower, down the hill a short ways and you'll see it. 3 - Ledges Near Stream - From Steilbahn, go straight and a little left, and over the big hill. As you're going down the other side of the big hill, it's on the edge of the cliff right before a gap over a ravine. 4 - Bumpy Ledges Near Top of Stream - From Steilbahn go left to the hills over the stream. There's one on the right side of the stream on a high ledge. 5 - Behind Trees on Small Cliff - From Gefahrenzone, go right a short ways to a patch of trees and there it is right before a cliff. 6 - On the Opposite Cliff - It is outside the wood fences on the far cliff of the huge valley. It's right under the where the power lines are on that side, and you might be able to ride over to it. You could also try and come at it from the far right side (Gletscherbahn) and try and get up the hill going left, and then continue left to find it. 7 - Edge of the Cliff - Go down Megaschlucht and follow along the edge of the main cliff over the valley without going off. About 3/4 of the way down the cliff edge you'll see it. 8 - Left Woods - From Megaschlucht, go left and huge the left side without going out of bounds. It's a short way down in some trees. ---------------------------------------------- ---= Nixon JibFest =--- ---------------------------------------------- 1 - Behind 2nd Red Ramp - Go straight and it's right behind the second red ramp you see. 2 - Behind Blue Ramp - Go straight (vere right at the arrows) and follow along under the ski lift. About half way down you'll see a blue ramp to your left, and then you'll see another one a little ways further. It's right behind that second one. I finally got it by railsliding across the lip while leaning forward. 3 - On Yellow Ramp - Go straight (vere right at the arrows) under the ski lift and at the first blue ramp take that left path. Follow it to the first fork in the path (with arrow signs) and take a left. Take another left at the next fork with arrow signs too. Follow that for a little ways and you'll see it on a small yellow ramp. 4 - On the Ski Lift - That's right, you're going to have to grind the ski lift to get this one. It's about 2/3 of the way down on the left wire. There are some red ramps you can use to ramp on there and grind down. 5 - Behind the Funky Red Ramp - At the arrow signs, go right (at the starting ones), then take a left at the first blue ramp, then left at the next arrows, and a right at the next ones. Follow that path to a big red ramp with rails going behind it from both sides. It's behind that on the left side. 6 - Behind the Arrow Signs - Go straight for a while (vere right at the arrows), under the ski lift, and when you see the first blue ramp, start going left and take that left path. follow that and you'll see some arrow signs making a fence along the left side. It's behind those (not the arrow signs for the fork in the path that come right after that). 7 - Top of Red Quarterpipe - Go straight, then take the first left at the arrow signs. Go down that path a ways passed a bunch of rails and cameramen. You'll come to a high, red quarterpipe, and the snowman is on top of it. 8 - Left of Rail Near the Bottom - Go straight, then take the first left at the arrow signs. Go down that path a ways passed a bunch of rails and cameramen, and go almost to the bottom. It's right on the left of a small rail before you get to the two covered benches. ------------------------------------------------------------------ IV.
