Not any Gadgets or Items though. +------------------+ | C-01 Omniwrench | +------------------+ /| |\ Power: Medium-Low \|+|/ Range: Melee | Total Ammo: N/A | Cost: N/A The Wrench is the weapon programmed into the Square button and is one of the two weapons that you have at the beginning of the game. You can do many things with it, you can do a normal strike, a strike combination, an powerful Downward Strike, and a useful Comet Strike that can hit enemies at a distance. +------------------+ | C-02 Bomb Glove | +------------------+ (__ Power: Medium-Low / \\ Range: Medium-Short | || Total Ammo: 40 \___/ Cost: 5 Bolts per round The Bomb Glove is the other default weapon in the game. You can stock up on them at Ratchet's home, and more ammo is available anywhere. The Bomb Glove is a fairly good beginner weapon, and you can throw it farther than a Comet Strike. Gold Weapon Cost: 10,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: larger explosions, increased range Gold Weapon First Available: Oltanis Orbit, after defeating the boss +-----------------+ | C-03 Pyrocitor | +-----------------+ /| Power: Medium-Low \/ // Range: Short | //| Total Ammo: 240 '/// Cost: 2,500 Bolts for Weapon, 1 Bolt per round The Pyrocitor is also a fairly strong beginner weapon, and fairly cheap. You can first buy it in Novalis's Tobruk Crater. Gold Weapon Cost: 20,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: green flame, more range and damage Gold Weapon First Available: Oltanis Orbit, after defeating the boss +---------------+ | C-04 Blaster | +---------------+ | Power: Low _/ \_ Range: Medium-Long \ / Total Ammo: 200 | Cost: 2,500 Bolts for weapon, 1 Bolt per round The Blaster is one of the most useful weapons you'll have for a while. It has a fairly large ammo capacity, is cheap, and is a long- range weapon. Any enemies that have a long range of attack, or that you're too scared to approach, let the Blaster do the job. The Blaster is first available in Metropolis in Kerwan. Gold Weapon Cost: 20,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: increased range and shooting rate and power, and the bullets will reflect off walls (like Agent 9's laser in Spyro 3). Gold Weapon First Available: Oltanis Orbit, after defeating the boss +---------------------+ | C-05 Glove of Doom | +---------------------+ * Power: Medium .\ /. Range: Medium-Short \___/ Total Ammo: 10 """ Cost: 7,500 Bolts for weapon, 40 Bolts per round The Glove of Doom is also a useful weapon. Any large amount of enemies around, or if you're unsure of facing an enemy, the Glove of Doom is here. It releases four mini-robots that have about the attack power of the wrench and go automatically up to an enemy. It's expensive, but eventually worth it. You can first get it in the Logging Site in Eudora. Gold Weapon Cost: 20,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: bigger Agents of Doom, more powerful and they can attack further away. Gold Weapon First Available: Oltanis Orbit, after defeating the boss +-------------------+ | C-06 Suck Cannon | +-------------------+ |\ Power: Medium || /__ Range: Medium || \ Total Ammo: N/A |/ Cost: N/A The Suck Cannon isn't that useful, at least at the beginning of the game. I sometimes find it hard to control, and you usually don't find an enemy small enough to fit in it that you can't defeat easily anyway. Later in the game it comes more in handy, when small means deadly. You get it for free if you go through the Logging Site, and you don't need to pay for ammo. It holds 5 enemies total. Gold Weapon Cost: 10,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: It holds 5 more enemies (total of 10), higher sucking range, more powerful projectile. Gold Weapon First Available: Oltanis Orbit, after defeating the boss +---------------+ | C-07 Taunter | +---------------+ _/ / Power: N/A | | __ Range: Medium-Long |_| Total Ammo: N/A \ \ Cost: 2,500 Bolts for weapon The taunter is another no-ammo weapon, though it can't directly be used as a weapon. It's pretty cheap though. You can use it to attract enemies, or as an easy way to blow up a ton of crates at a time. It's first available at the Space Station in Nebula G34. +------------------+ | C-08 Mine Glove | +------------------+ _ Power: Medium \ / \ / Range: Medium | O | Total Ammo: 50 / \_/ \ Cost: 7,500 Bolts for weapon, 5 Bolts per round The Mine Glove is kind of expensive, but it's fun to play around with. You lay a mine, and you can use the taunter with it to lure enemies to mines. You can first get it at Blackwater City in Rilgar. Gold Weapon Cost: 10,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: slightly more powerful and throwing range, much greater exploding range Gold Weapon First Available: Novalis, after starting a second game +------------------+ | C-09 Devastator | +------------------+ /_\ Power: Medium-High Range: High /___\ Total Ammo: 20 \/V\/ Cost: 10,000 Bolts for weapon, 50 Bolts per round Although it's expensive, this powerful weapon is worth it. It's like a Blaster with 10 times the power. You can first get it at Fort Krontos in Batalia. Gold Weapon Cost: 60,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: More powerful, chain explosion Gold Weapon First Available: Novalis, after starting a second game +----------------+ | C-10 Walloper | +----------------+ / \ Power: Medium-High [ | Range: Melee [ __/ Total Ammo: N/A \__/ Cost: 7,500 Bolts for weapon This is another useful weapon. It works a lot like the wrench, it's a melee attack, but it has much more power. And it protects you if you punch an explosive. AND it has no ammo! You can get it in the Blarg Depot in Gaspar, and you really need it for that level. +--------------------+ | C-11 Visibomb Gun | +--------------------+ \ _\ Power: High ||V|\ Range: *Infinite* ||_|/ Total Ammo: 20 /__/ Cost: 15,000 Bolts for weapon, 100 Bolts per round Yet another useful weapon!! Save up for it. If you want, you can get the Persuader first (if you visit the level after the first level you can get this in, you can get the Persuader). It changes the price to 10,000 bolts. With this weapon, you can fire missiles that you can steer. So, if you're really desperate, you can explore the level with a few Visibombs. The only drawback is they go in realtime, so while you shoot a visibomb an enemy could be trying to attack you at the same time. This weapon is first available at Jowai Resort. +-------------------+ | C-12 Decoy Glove | +-------------------+ Power: N/A --|-- Range: Short | Total Ammo: 20 / \ Cost: 7,500 Bolts for weapon, 10 Bolts per round This weapon is available at the same place as the Visibomb Gun, though it isn't as useful. Though enemies still fall for it. It places a decoy on the ground, and enemies will shoot at it instead. It does come in handy in much later levels where you have to keep some large ships from shooting at you while you sneak past them. Gold Weapon Cost: 10,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: Ratchet-devil picture on the decoy, damages enemies that are directly attacking Gold Weapon First Available: Novalis, after starting a second game +--------------------+ | C-13 Drone Device | +--------------------+ ----- Power: Medium |.\ /.| Range: Medium |\___/| Total Ammo: 10 ----- Cost: 7,500 Bolts for weapon, 40 Bolts per round This weapon is first available at the Bomb Factory in Hoven. So far, I haven't found it THAT useful. It releases about 5 drones to circle around you and protect you, but they disappear after a bit and hardly seem to work. But, compared to most of the weapons at this time, it's fairly cheap. Most of the drones get hit by random attacks anyway, but they will automatically attack fairly small enemies near you. But not the enemies it would be worth equipping these for. +------------------+ | C-14 Tesla Claw | +------------------+ |_ Power: High |_ Range: Medium |_ Total Ammo: 250 | Cost: 40,000 Bolts for weapon, 1 Bolts per round If you can't afford the RYNO when this weapon becomes available, buy this instead. It gives out a little bolt of electricity. But when you're fighting robots or ships, this will almost always target them automatically and get them in a low amount of hits. When you have a pack of robots in front of you, this weapon can get all of them at the same time! Worth all the money. With the Persuader it's worth only 30,000 bolts. It's first available in Gorda City Ruins. Gold Weapon Cost: 60,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: green electricity, hits more than one enemy at once Gold Weapon First Available: Novalis, after starting a second game +-------------------+ | C-15 Morph-a-Ray | +-------------------+ O> Power: Medium-High W__| Range: Short L__) Total Ammo: N/A L L Cost: Free You can get this weapon for free in Gorda City ruins after visiting the Upper City. It's a tough task, but an interesting weapon. It turns your enemies into chickens! For larger enemies it will probably take some time. Useful for those pesky packs of small enemies though. Gold Weapon Cost: 20,000 bolts and 4 gold bolts Gold Weapon Advantages: faster morphing, bigger chickens (though you can't use big chickens in your Suck Cannon.) Gold Weapon First Available: Novalis, after starting a second game +------------+ | C-16 RYNO | +------------+ ___ Power: *Very High* / | \ Range: Long | Total Ammo: 50 _\|/_ Cost: 150,000 for weapon, 20 bolts per round This weapon is 150,000 bolts!!! Seems impossible to save up, but if you go through several levels without buying ammo, or use the "100,000 bolts an hour" trick (see the FAQ section for more on this), you can save up enough. And of course it's worth it. It has a high ammo cap- acity and the rounds are fairly cheap. For each round, it lets out six powerful rockets that each find their target. Buy this from the black market man in Blackwater City. +----------------------------------+ | C-17 Sand Mice / Sonic Summoner | +----------------------------------+ o o Power: Low \ / Range: Medium-Long -O-O- Total Ammo: 100 Cost: nothing, just use the Sonic Summoner (earn it) If you use the Sonic Summoner often, then you'll learn to worship Sand Mice. You can first get the Sonic Summoner from Skid's Agent in Outpost X11, Aridia, after receiving the Zoomerator in Blackwater O City, Rilgar. Now you can use Sand Mice! Sand Mice are an in- o | telligent species that live underground in houses that look like |_|_o <--this. Equip the Sonic Summoner and go near a mouse house /| | |\ to summon it. They hover behind you and help you for a limited \_____/ amount of time. Their bullets are about as strong as the Blaster's, but they have very good aim and notice many enemies before you will. I believe they disappear after they use about 100 of their bullets or stay with you for about 2-3 minutes, but you can go back to their hole and get them again. There is only one hole in each level, and in some levels, like Oxygen-less or Earth-less ones there aren't any Sand Mouse Holes. But take advantage of these friendly mice, they do all the work for you, saving all your money and time. In the Enemies section, where I describe each level I will also include Sand Mouse House locations. \\=================================================================// \\ Section D // // ENEMIES \\ //=================================================================\\ +--------------------------+ | D-01 Enemy Introduction | +--------------------------+ ENEMY NAME - Short description Attack - How they attack, and their range Health - how many hits they take. Low usually means they only take one hit from any weapon. Medium means they take two to three hits from the wrench, usually only one hit from a stronger weapon. High means use your best weapons on them. The best way to attack them. There are some strategies for enemies. Just look for the best way to attack them. See how frequently they attack. Attack them when they're reloading. Or snipe them when they haven't noticed you at all. One of the only problems with Ratchet and Clank is sometimes the enemies are dumb. (Did I call that a bad thing?) Some enemies might start shooting in one direction, and will still be shooting that direction when you sneak behind them and club them. And if you're running away from an enemy and hide behind an enemy, the first enemy will do the dirty work for you! (This only applies for enemies that shoot at you, not bite/peck/claw you, etc.). So if you have a room of enemies, just line it up right and soon it's only one enemy you have to defeat on your own! Take advantage of this concept. Some things that I don't want to mention for every enemy in the lists: ~ Usually the first enemy listed is the smallest, most common enemy. The enemy small enough to fit in the Suck Cannon barrel. The enemy that will only take one hit. Sometimes, it's the enemy that can be regenerated by a different enemy. ~ Usually there's a medium-health enemy with a way of blasting you with fire from a short or medium distance, too. Though I sometimes say just go up to them when they're reloading, be careful, because a lot of these enemies will swing their weapon at you when you're close by, if you're not that fast. +------------------------------+ | D-02 Ratchet's Home, Veldin | +------------------------------+ All you have now is the wrench, and the bomb gloves. Defeating all the level's enemies is easy with these two. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: N/A, as you can't come back to this level until the end of the game, and it changes. HORNED TOADS - Little brown toads that bite Attack - They bite, after a short delay Health - low Just give a single swing of your wrench, and these enemies will go down. If they're across a ledge, a Comet Strike will do the job well. THUNDER SOLDIERS - Robot enemies that use electricity to attack Attack - They shoot out electricity at a short range when you go near them Health - medium If you're cautious, you should defeat these guys using a Comet strike, go near enough to them but don't get hit. You can also try using the bomb gloves. If you want to defeat them quickly just wait for them to reload and go up to them with your wrench. They take two hits from a wrench, one hit from a Bomb Glove. +------------------------------+ | D-03 Tobruk Crater, Novalis | +------------------------------+ Now you also can buy a Pyrocitor! But, like the last level, you'll probably mostly use the wrench, and maybe the Bomb Glove. The enemies here are very similar to the ones in Ratchet's Home. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes. It's behind the left side of the large bridge in the main section of the level, by the river. BIRDS - Small yellow birds that peck Attack - Peck, when they're right next to you Health - low Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them. If there's a pack of them, use a Bomb Glove, or try the Pyrocitor. FIRE SOLDIERS - Robot enemies that let out a round of four fireballs Attack - They shoot out four fireballs at a short range when you go near them Health - medium If you're cautious, you should defeat these guys using a Comet strike, go near enough to them but don't get hit. You can also use the bomb gloves. If you want to defeat them quickly just wait for them to reload and go up to them with your wrench. They take two hits from a wrench, one hit from a Bomb Glove. JET PLANES - Very fast jets hovering around the level Attack - none Health - medium Come back to this level with the Devastator or Visibomb Gun and shoot down some of these ships for a skill point. They're tough since they're so fast. +--------------------------+ | D-04 Metropolis, Kerwan | +--------------------------+ Now you can buy a Blaster! They're really useful for this level, try to get enough bolts for one. You'll probably use the Blaster and the Wrench mostly, in this level. The enemies are a difficulty step up, and there's five kinds of them. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure ROBOT DOGS - Small robotic dogs that bite Attack - bite, when they're right next to you Health - low Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them. If there's a pack of them, use a Bomb Glove. It's not worth wasting blaster ammo on them. ROBOT DOG GENERATORS - Weird looking tub-bots that produce robot dogs Attack - produce new robot dogs when you kill old ones Health - low Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them. After you defeat Robot Dogs and see a generator, quickly go up to the generator and stop it before it makes new dogs. ROCKET SOLDIERS - Robot enemies that use rockets at a long range Attack - They shoot out rockets at a long range when they see you Health - medium Here's where the blaster comes in. Move out of the way of each of their rockets and strike back. If you couldn't afford the blaster, just go near them, dodging the rockets, and strike them three times with the wrench. LAND MINERS - Small, naughty robots that lay mines Attack - they run away from you, but lay rows of mines behind them Health - medium When you see them, chase after them, and watch out for their mines. Two wrench swings should defeat them. Or you can use the blaster. MACHINE GUN HELISHIPS - A hovering, elite ship Attack - machine guns you on the ground (low accuracy) Health - high There is only one of these in the level, on one of the bridges. You can defeat it with the blaster if you want, but you don't need to. If you, just stand back. It will take probably about 10 ammo. If not, just stand back and run around its gunfire. BLIMPS - Blimps hovering above the level Attack - none Health - high Come back to this level with the Visibomb Gun and shoot down one of these blimps for a skill point. QWARKBOT STATUE - Statue at the front of the obstacle course Attack - none Health - high Use the Bomb Glove, or come back with the Devastator, and destroy this statue for a skill point. +---------------------------+ | D-05 Outpost X11, Aridia | +---------------------------+ Nothing to buy in this level. You should be fine with just the Wrench. The Bomb glove and Pyrocitor may come in handy. You don't need the blaster. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes, near the Agent's ship, right where you receive the Sonic Summoner SAND SHARKS - Small, orange, sand dwelling sharks Attack - Bite, when they're right next to you Health - low Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them. If there's a pack of them, use a Bomb Glove, or try the Pyrocitor. Don't let there be a Sand Shark in every direction, jump out of the way so they're all on one side of you and easy to attack. SAND SHARK GENERATORS - Strange, plant creatures Attack - They generate any missing sand sharks Health - medium Just a few swings of the wrench will defeat them. After you defeat Sand Sharks and see a generator, quickly go up to the generator and stop it before it makes new sharks. Or you can attack the generator first, but it's risky. FLAMETHROWER BOTS - Robot enemies that use Pyrocitors Attack - They use a Pyrocitor, and make a flame go back and forth Health - medium If you're cautious, you should defeat these guys using a Comet strike, go near enough to them but don't get hit. You can also use the blaster. If you want to defeat them quickly just wait for them to reload or point the flame away from you and go up to them with your wrench. TRANSPORTERS - Vehicles hovering above the level Attack - none Health - high Come back to this level with the Devastator or Visibomb Gun and shoot three of these guys down for a Skill Point. +----------------------------+ | D-06 Logging Site, Eudora | +----------------------------+ Though they are expensive, you'll probably want to buy a Glove of Doom in this level. Some of the enemies are a step up, others are still as easy as pie. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes. After the first bridge that you open up, there's a ledge to the left side of the hill. Wall-jump up it, it's at the back of this section, behind the platform. SAW BOTS - Small robots with saws instead of arms Attack - turn on their saws, when they're right next to you Health - low Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them. There aren't ever too many of them at once so you shouldn't have a problem. AXE BOTS - green robots with an axe arm Attack - swing their axes (there's a delay though) Health - medium The usual "attack them before they attack you." Go up to them with the wrench and two swings will do it. Or use a Comet Strike if you don't want to take risks. SNIPER SOLDIERS - strategic soldiers with blaster-ish guns Attack - They shoot out glowing bullets at a medium-long range Health - medium Here's where the blaster or the Glove of Doom come in. Both you can use while out of the soldiers' range. If you don't have them, wait for the soldiers to stop shooting, then run after them (they run away) and use the Wrench when you get close enough. LARGE AXE BOTS - a larger, more powerful version of the Axe Bots Attack - swing their axes Health - medium Watch out for these bots. You can use a Glove of Doom for these guys too. If you don't have the Glove of Doom, or don't want to use up ammo, then use a Comet Strike. LOGGING VEHICLES - Vehicles hovering around the site Attack - none Health - low You can snipe the vehicles with your blaster. They don't attack back. They go down with one shot, surprisingly. If you defeat 10 of them you get a Skill Point. +---------------------------------+ | D-07 Blarg Station, Nebula G34 | +---------------------------------+ A Glove of Doom is a necessity in this level. Some enemies you don't want to get near. Also the Suck Cannon and the Blaster will do wonders too. Make sure you have them all. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes. In the room along the path to the Rail Boots (upper-right on the map) with the cages along both walls, climb up to the second level on the right. In one of the cages is a large cave filled with frogs, a Gold Bolt, and a Sand Mouse House. FROGS - Small frogs that hang out in large packs Attack - a quick bite when they're near you Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." But you'll find these guys in large groups, so you can use your new Suck Cannon and vacuum five of them up at a time. Use your Frog-ammo (it's actually pretty powerful) against more of them, or the other enemies if you're good. FIRE WAVE SOLDIERS - Soldiers with guns that let out waves of fire Attack - send out waves of fire on the ground when you're near them Health - medium Do whatever to attack these guys. It's easy to jump over their waves, you can use the blaster, or just the normal wrench if you go near enough. (The comet strike is not recommended, since you have to stand in their range.) ALIENS - large, noisy, annoying, biting reptiles Attack - They bite with fast reflexes and have a lot of health Health - medium Here's where the Blaster or the Glove of Doom come in. Don't go near these guys, cause they hurt and they chase after you quickly. ALIEN QUEEN - larger than the large lizards...GAA! See BLARG STATION ALIEN QUEEN in the bosses section +-------------------------------+ | D-08 Blackwater City, Rilgar | +-------------------------------+ If you can afford it, get the Mine Gloves. (If you don't have enough bolts, then do the swingshot/sewers section of the level first, since it has very few enemies.) It's almost a necessity. If you don't have it at least make sure you have the Glove of Doom. You probably won't use the wrench that much. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes. It's at the edge of the arena with the large amount of Amoeboids and Mist Mercenaries, that comes after the downtown section. SMALL AMOEBOIDS - Small slime creatures Attack - a quick bite when they're near you Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." These guys aren't that commonly found small, they're mostly produced from a Large Amoeboid. When you see them in the sewer challenge, don't waste time and attack them, just jump over them. LARGE AMOEBOIDS - Large, reproductive slime creatures Attack - a quick bite when they're near you Health - medium Use any weapon to attack these guys, but be careful. When you attack a large amoeboid, they turn into two medium sized ones. When you attack a medium sized one, they turn into two small amoeboids each. The blaster or Glove of Doom come in handy so you can stay away when they split. MIST MERCENARIES - soldiers with a short ranged blast of green mist Attack - They let out a bit of green mist right by them Health - medium Here's where the Mine Glove and the Glove of Doom come in. These guys are almost always found in large packs behind doors, so lay some Mines or Doom-bots in front of these doors before opening them to make quick work of them. MIST TANKS - tough, though not powerful tanks that spray green mist Attack - send out short waves of green mist around them Health - high Don't even TRY using your wrench. Use a Glove of Doom, Mine Glove, or your blaster. It takes a lot of blaster ammo, but only two mine gloves will defeat them. +------------------------------------+ | D-09 Qwark's Headquarters, Umbris | +------------------------------------+ No new weapons in this level. But you'll be completely dependent on the Blaster. Restock on all its ammo when you enter the level. That and the Swingshot are all you need in the level. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure HYPER CANNONBALLERS - Machines that fire a ton of cannonballs Attack - fire cannonballs (in rounds) in the air towards you Health - medium As you can probably see, you don't want to be near these guys. But three blaster ammo will take them down easily. MINES - hovering mines that may have a movement pattern Attack - glide towards you if you get near them Health - low Use the blaster, and don't let them chase you. MACHINE GUN TURRETS - soldiers with a short ranged blast of green mist Attack - fire rounds continuously back and forth Health - low Just another automatic enemy. They can't be defeated, if you hit them they pop back up after a few seconds. But in the first few cases they're easy to avoid, just watch the line of fire. POOL SHARKS - biting sharks that hang out near the end of the level Attack - eat you if they're in water, a delayed bite if they're not Health - medium These are the only living enemies in the level. They're very easy to defeat when they don't have water, but don't go into full water unless you know there's no sharks. A few swings of the wrench will defeat them and they won't have time to attack you. SNAGGLEBEAST - large monster featured in the infobot for Metropolis See CAPTAIN QWARK'S SNAGGLEBEAST in the bosses section +-----------------------------+ | D-10 Fort Krontos, Batalia | +-----------------------------+ There's a very cool new weapon in this level, the Devastator. It's not vital for this level, so you can wait for it if you need to. For this level you'll probably just want the Sonic Summoner and the Mine Glove. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes. It's behind one of the buildings to the right side of the area between the entrance and the forested area, just past the Long Rail area. HOVER BOTS - flying robots that can let out electricity Attack - zap you if they are near you for a second Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." Get them when they land, don't let them sneak up on you. Their attacks are very short range so don't worry about it. HOVER BOT GENERATORS - Generators of hoverbots Attack - generate hoverbots Health - medium If I recall correctly, there's only one of these in the level. Treat it like a normal enemy generator. JUMPING ROCKET SOLDIERS - soldiers that shoot a bunch of rockets Attack - launch rockets in a straight line, higher and higher Health - medium These soldiers are kind of tough if there's a lot of them. You can use the Blaster, the Glove of Doom, or the Mine Glove for them. TIMID BOMBERS - timid soldiers that throw a bomb then hide Attack - They throw bombs towards you Health - medium These guys are hard. The first time you fight these enemies, you can get a Sand Mouse nearby to use. But if you don't have a sand mouse, use the blaster or, better, a Mine Glove or Glove of Doom. CANNONBALL TANKS - tough and semi-powerful tanks that use cannonballs Attack - throw out cannonballs if you get near them Health - high Like the last tanks, don't go near them. Use a Glove of Doom, Mine Glove, or your blaster. They have a lot of health. You may want to try the Devastator if you can. RAILBOOT PUZZLE ENEMIES: | | MINES - jump over them or swing your wrench | | DIVIDERS - jump over them | | GAPS - jump as soon as you get to the edge, but not too soon | + If you don't lose a hit point in this task, you get a skill point. TURRET ENEMIES: To use the turret, come back to the level with the MagneBoots. | | LARGE BLARG SHIPS - these are what you're fighting. Attack them | with your full force, but also watch out for the occasional rockets | they shoot at you. This turret doesn't have that much life, so | shoot down their rockets before they hit you, they appear on the | radar. Otherwise it's not that hard. | | TINY SHIPS - Shoot one of these ships for a skill point. I did this | one just by accidentally shooting one while doing the main task, + since they're hard. +---------------------------+ | D-11 Blarg Depot, Gaspar | +---------------------------+ You need to do this level eventually for the Pilot's Mask. Make sure you get the Walloper, it's really handy, and it's probably the only way through one of this level's enemies. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure DOG BOTS - dog-like robots that bite Attack - a quick bite if they're near you Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." You can use the suck cannon or the turret if you need to, but the wrench will do. DOG BOT GENERATORS - Strange looking generators of Dog Bots Attack - generate dog bots Health - medium Treat them like normal enemy generators. Just keep it from making more and attack it however you want. The first one you can get with the turret if you need to. MINE BOTS - round robots that can transform into hovering mines Attack - glide towards you and turn into mines Health - medium These are the toughies of the level. Shoot them with the blaster before they notice you. But they stay hidden and notice you first, so this is what the Walloper is for. You can punch them without taking damage. JUMPING ROCKET SOLDIERS - soldiers that shoot a bunch of rockets Attack - launch rockets in a straight line, higher and higher Health - medium These are the same kind of soldiers that appeared in the last level. These soldiers are kind of tough if there's a lot of them. You can use the Blaster, the Glove of Doom, or the Mine Glove for them. FUELING SHIPS - ships that are pumping gas on the level's perimeter Attack - none Health - low These guys are optional. Attack the gas tanks and it goes up into the ships and destroys them. Destroy all the ships for a skill point, go through the area for a Gold Bolt. +-----------------------------+ | D-12 Kogor Refinery, Orxon | +-----------------------------+ Since Ratchet can't enter the level until you get the O2 Mask, you have to explore with Clank. You'll need the GadgeBots to get one of the kind of enemies, but that mostly isn't the puzzle. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: no, because you have to wear the O2 Mask in the level CLANK'S ENEMIES: | | FROGS - Clank's usual enemy | Attack - bite | Health - low | Try to have good timing when you give these guys a punch. They can | be easy or hard, but they go down in one punch. Use GadgeBots and | it's a cinch. | | LAND LOBSTERS - reactive lobsters that Clank can't defeat alone | Attack - snap at you when you're near and after you attack | Health - high | You need GadgeBots to pass by these guys. Otherwise Clank doesn't | have a chance. | | ENERGY BEAMS - Beams of energy with a set pattern | Attack - take away health if you go near it | Health - (undefeatable) + Just let Clank and all Gadgebots pass by when the beam has passed. When you come back from the next level with the O2 Mask, you can explore with Ratchet. There are a slew of new enemies, and no Gadge- bots to do your work. You'll definitely want the Devastator, and the Glove of Doom and Blaster will also serve their purposes. And if you could afford the Visibomb gun then some parts of the level will be much easier. RATCHET'S ENEMIES: FROGS - Clank's classic enemy Attack - bite Health - low If you're controlling Ratchet, these guys are easy. Use anything. LAND LOBSTERS - lobsters that sometimes sleep, that react when hit Attack - snap at you (if they're awake), and react when attacked Health - high These are the most annoying enemies in the level, and they're all over. They're one of the enemies you don't want to get near. Use the Wrench or the Walloper and you're in trouble. When it gets hit, asleep or not, it snaps out, so you'll be dead before it is, usually. If you need to defeat them, use a Glove of Doom, the Devastator, or the Blaster. (Or you can use the taunter and lure them into a force field, you can get a skill point if you do this). For the sleeping ones in packs, you might as well let them be instead of wasting a lot of ammo. Just walk around them, or hover over them, and importantly, don't use the wrench to open boxes or force fields, use the blaster, and make sure there aren't any Screamers around! SCREAMERS - blue creatures that wake up the sleeping Land Lobsters Attack - wake up all the lobsters around Health - low As soon as you see these guys, snipe them with your blaster. They're pretty annoying if you don't. At one point in the task to get the Nanotech Upgrades, there's a pipe on the right side of the screen. You can snipe one of the Screamers through it for a skill point. DIVE BIRDS - aerodynamic birds that dive at you to attack Attack - dive at you when they get near Health - low If you have good enough timing, the very easy way to attack these birds is to let them dive at you, then jump up quickly and hit them with the dive attack. It should kill them in one hit. For the mag- netic rail section, just swing wildly and you should hit them. (These are the same guys that appeared in the Blarg Station) ROCKET SHIPS - spaceships that come out from hiding and use rockets Attack - fire rockets at you! Watch out! Health - high If you have visibombs, once you attract a ship, stand back around a corner and use a visibomb. It should destroy it in one hit. Otherwise it's hard to hit these enemies, and you should just dodge its attacks while you pass the area. +------------------------------+ | D-13 Jowai Resort, Pokitaru | +------------------------------+ You'll probably have fun in this level. The enemies aren't too bad and you get to use the Jet. I recommend buying the newest weapon, the Visibomb Gun, as it's very useful in future levels. The Decoy Glove is also handy in the future but it can wait. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes, on an low island near where the floating transportation raft finishes its first trip SPIKY FISH - spiny fish that bounce around on the sand Attack - sting you when they get near you. Health - medium These guys are annoying. They're you're usual small enemy but they still take two wrench hits. So the key phrases are, Suck Cannon or Sonic Summoner. It's easy enough to suck these guys up, and there's a Sand Mouse Hole on one of the lower islands after your first boat ride. When they attack you on the boat, I recommend equipping the Walloper. OCTOPUSES - angry octopuses that release energy beams Attack - let out dodgable energy beams occasionally Health - medium Not much harder that the Spiky Fish. Use any method to defeat them, I usually use just my Suck Cannon ammo. SMALL AMOEBOIDS - Small slime creatures Attack - a quick bite when they're near you Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." These guys aren't that commonly found small, they're mostly produced from a Large Amoeboid. These enemies only appear in the Jowai Resort Sewers. These enemies also can only be found in the sewers. BLARG FIGHTHER ENEMIES: | | PULLUTING SHIPS - ships that are turning the fish into mutants | Attack - none | Health - high | Hit these guys with your ship to complete the mission with the Jet. | I recommend using the missiles on these enemies. | | LITTLE JETS - smaller jets hovering around the level | Attack - fire machine gun at your ship if they notice you | Health - low | By destroying these smaller jets you can regain missile ammo and | health. Pretty helpful. It's easy enough using the machine gun on | these enemies. SHOOT THESE ENEMIES FROM THE GROUND AS RATCHET FOR + A SKILL POINT. For this I recommend using the Visibomb Gun. +---------------------------+ | D-14 Bomb Factory, Hoven | +---------------------------+ Once you get through the tedious Ratchet section of Orxon, you might want a break from enemies. This level has a moderate amount of enemies. You'll probably want the Visibomb Gun and the Suck Cannon, otherwise your Wrench will do. The new weapon (Drone Device) isn't that exciting. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure ANKLE BITERS - rodent-like monsters that dwell in the ice Attack - bite you if you get near them Health - medium Like the Spiny Fish of the last level, these guys are annoying because they still take two hits. They aren't as hard as the fish because they don't attack as soon, and you can still use the Suck Cannon. :) In one area, you can get a skill point if you defeat them all with just your wrench (there's about 20 of them, this is on one of the low points on the map). SNIPER SOLDIERS - strategic soldiers with blaster-ish guns Attack - They shoot out glowing bullets at a medium-long range Health - medium Same guys as way back in Eudora. Still as annoying, and they come in big packs. You can just dodge the packs of them if you don't want to waste ammo. But if you use the Devastator or Visibomb Gun, you can defeat a pack of them with one rocket! I don't know why, but have fun trying it. MINES - hovering mines that come out of a cache in the ground Attack - glide towards you if you get near them Health - low Same mines as in Qwark's HQ. Use the Walloper, or just run away. But it's hard to tell when they appear, but you can use the Blaster if you can. ROCKET HELISHIPS - hovering, elite ships Attack - fire rockets at you Health - high Slightly different than the ones from Orxon, these ships are the primary ship that Drek is using to attack you. For the ones you encounter with Ratchet, use the Visibomb Gun, or just avoid the enemy's fire if you don't have it. SHOOT THE FAST MOVING ROCKET HELISHIPS HOVERING AROUND THE LEVEL FOR A SKILL POINT. The easiest way to do this is to go to a high point in the level, wait for a ship to come in your range and use the Devastator, whose rockets should chase them until they hit. DEFENSE TURRET ENEMIES: | | GIANT BOMBER SHIP - ship holding the Planet Destroyer | Attack - snowball-like bullets at you from the top of the ship | Health - very high | Your main goal of the Defense Turret. Always be shooting at this | when you're not shooting down a Rocket Heliship, so the mission | will be over with. | | ROCKET HELISHIPS - hovering, elite ships | Attack - fire rockets at you | Health - high | The main challenge given by the Turret mission. There are a ton | of these guys who are guarding the giant ship. Shoot them down + quickly, and shoot their rockets in midair before they can hurt you. +----------------------------------+ | D-15 Gemlik Base, Oltanis Orbit | +----------------------------------+ This level sure isn't a break from defeating enemies. You'll almost need a Visibomb Gun (or a Decoy Glove at least) in this level. No new weapons, though. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: No, because you have to wear the O2 Mask in the level MASKED BIRDS - your usual one-hit enemy Attack - bite, when they get near you Health - low Yay, a one-hit enemy again! You know the routine...Suck Cannon, or just the Wrench. Or if they're by a Fire Wave Soldier let the soldier do the attacking for you. MASKED BIRD GENERATORS - your usual one-hit enemy Attack - bite, when they get near you Health - low These generators only appear in the ambush part of the level. Get them first and the ambush is easy. Also, if you let the Fire Wave soldiers accidentally attack the Masked Birds then you can have most of the enemies defeated for you in that section. FIRE WAVE SOLDIERS - Soldiers with guns that let out waves of fire Attack - send out waves of fire on the ground when you're near them Health - medium Same guys as back on Orxon and Nebula G34. Jump over the waves, use whatever weapons. Pretty easy. When they're in groups, let them attack each other, and jump-dive if you're going to use the Wrench. MACHINE GUNNER TURRETS - shoot out rounds of machine gunfire Attack - shoot out machine gunfire at a limited range Health - medium Keep running or go to an elevation and you should be able to dodge the gunfire. Then go behind the turret and take out the guy with your wrench. ROCKET SHIPS - spaceships that come out from behind doors, usually Attack - fire rockets at you Health - high If you have visibombs, once you attract a ship, stand back around a corner and use a visibomb. It should destroy it in one hit. Otherwise it's hard to hit these enemies, and you should just dodge its attacks while you pass the area. Use a Decoy Glove if you don't have the Visibomb, it's almost necessary. CARGO SHIPS - ships perched on some of the level's rooftops Attack - none Health - medium At anytime in the level, get out your Visibomb Gun and search the rooftops of the level for these stationary ships. There are about 8 of them, but they're easy to find and hit. BLARG FIGHTER ENEMIES: | | CAPTAIN QWARK'S SHIP - Finally, face Ol' Qwark | DEFENSE FIGHTERSHIPS - hovering, elite ships | + See CAPTAIN QWARK'S SHIP in the bosses section +---------------------------------+ | D-16 Gorda City Ruins, Oltanis | +---------------------------------+ I hope you're up for a challenge. A lot of the enemies you can just wrench or dodge here, but the Glove of Doom would come in handy, and if you can afford it, DEFINITELY buy the Tesla Claw. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Yes, right by the Gold Bolt that you have to use the swingshot to get that's along the main path to the level's infobot (not the complicated swingshot Gold Bolt) HOVER BOTS - flying robots that can let out electricity Attack - zap you if they are near you for a second Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." Get them when they land, don't let them sneak up on you. Their attacks are very short range so don't worry about it. Same guys as back in Batalia. The Tesla Claw is very effective against these enemies. HOVER BOT GENERATORS - Generators of hoverbots Attack - generate hoverbots Health - low As usual, get the generators before you get the bots. Just use the wrench as the generator isn't attacking you directly. TESLA CLAW BOTS - robots that let out annoying streams of electricity Attack - use a Tesla Claw, that lets out electricity Health - medium You will probably really hate these guys most of all in this level. Rival their attacks with a Tesla Claw of your own, or use the Glove of Doom or Sonic Summoner (there's a Mouse House next to the Gold Bolt along the main path of the level, where most of these enemies are.) MINE SHIPS - hovering spaceships that drop mines Attack - drop mines Health - high If you have visibombs, once you attract a ship, stand back, around a corner and use a visibomb. It should destroy it in one hit. Otherwise you should use the Tesla Claw or Devastator. ALARM BEAM ROBOTS - security robots with a beam of light going down Attack - alert the Machine Gun Turrets if you set it off Health - high Ugh, you gotta hate these guys. Just dodge the beams that they let out and they won't activate the turrets. MACHINE GUN TURRETS - turrets that usually activate with the alarmbots Attack - shoot out machine gunfire in a set pattern Health - low These guns are fairly easy to avoid, and they only take one hit to calm them down permanently (unlike the similar turrets in Umbris). MINES - mines placed along the rails and MagneRails of the level Attack - explode if you touch them Health - low For the mines on the rail puzzle, just jump over or to the side of them, or swing your wrench. For the mines on the MagneRails, just wait for them to pass by before proceeding, or just swing your Wrench or use a Comet Strike to explode them without harming you. MARAUDING BLARGSHIPS - Vehicles hovering around the site Attack - none Health - high After completing this level, go to a high point in the level, like a rooftop, and shoot down some of the ships flying above the level with Visibombs for a skill point. +---------------------------+ | D-17 Robot Plant, Quartu | +---------------------------+ No new weapons in this level. Right now you should just be saving up for the Gold Weapons or the RYNO. At this time, if you have the RYNO, congratulations! You don't have to suffer some of the hardest parts of the end of the game if you don't want to! Now, the Tesla Claw will come in handy, and the Devastator might, too, but the challenge of the enemies of the level part of the Giant Clank section. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure DOG BOTS - dog-like robots that bite Attack - a quick bite if they're near you Health - low The usual "Just a single swing of the wrench will defeat them." You can use the suck cannon or the Tesla claw if you need to, but the wrench will do. TESLA CLAW BOTS - robots that let out annoying streams of electricity Attack - use a Tesla Claw, that lets out electricity Health - medium These are the same really annoying guys as in the last level. Rival their attacks with a Tesla Claw of your own, or use the Glove of Doom or Devastator. SENTRY BOTS - robots dwelling in the secure Robot Plant Attack - shoot fast (though predictable) fireballs, and turn on the factory alarms (therefore the defense system activates) Health - medium You get the mass of these enemies when you use the Hologuise. The main strategy is to be really close to them when you attack, so sneak up on them with the Hologuise if you can, then use the Walloper, Tesla Claw, or just your Wrench to take them out quickly before they can attack on their own or press the alarm. If there's a group of them and/or they're at a distance, you can use a Visibomb or the Devastator or RYNO to take them out before they knew what hit them. COOLANT SYSTEM ENEMIES: | | LASER BUGS - These bugs can be a little tricky. The ones that are | on the rectangular pipes just go back and forth, so they're easy | to avoid. But the ones in the circle path seem to travel around | randomly. Your best bet not to run into their beams is to go at | a point perpendicular to their beams, that way their beam will + definitely not turn enough to reach you when you pass it. GIANT CLANK ENEMIES: | | DOG BOTS / TESLA CLAW BOTS | They can't do a thing to Clank. Just stomp on them to defeat them. | | MACHINE GUN HELISHIPS - hovering, elite ships | Attack - fire machine guns at you | Health - high | These guys aren't the main threat. They go down in one punch and | their attack isn't THAT strong. Just defeat them quickly before the | damage builds, but it's the mechs that you should worry about. | | GIANT MECH ROBOTS - large mechs that Clank was enlarged to rival | Attack - fire rockets at you | Health - very high | These are the guys you should watch out for. They take more than | punch or rocket to defeat, and their rockets are the most damage | Clank will get at once. Just defeat them quickly, and it's best to + use the Atomic Blast on them (Triangle). +----------------------------------+ | D-18 Gadgetron Site, Kalebo III | +----------------------------------+ No new weapons, so just save up for a Gold Weapon, the Tesla Claw or Ultra Nanotech if you haven't gotten it yet, or the RYNO. For this level, the Walloper is handy, and the Visibomb, and just keep some Devastator and Glove of Dooms in handy. Defense is important in this level, the Elite Soldiers and the TestingBots have damage that can build up fast. MINE BOTS - round robots that can transform into hovering mines Attack - glide towards you and turn into mines Health - medium These are same guys as back in Gaspar. Shoot them with the blaster before they notice you. But they will probably notice you first, so this is what the Walloper is for. You can punch them without taking damage. ELITE SOLDIERS - Powerful soldiers, Drek's best ones, that hover Attack - three rockets at an accurate and long range Health - high If there's only one of these, go up to them with the Walloper or the wrench's diving attack and they're history. But if there's a slew of them, that's when you'll want the Visibombs. If you don't want to use them, the RYNO will save your life, and the Tesla Claw can do the job too. But many weapons like the Glove of Doom just won't work since these enemies hover. ELITE SOLDIER SHIP - ship that hosts the elite soldiers Attack - none Health - high This ship is at the end of the long clearing of mercs before the last bot testing room. Shoot it with the Devastator or Visibomb Gun to complete the task "Get rid of the Blarg." TEST BOTS: All of them have Medium Health, and use the weapon they're named after. They all appear in the "Test Bot Rooms", two bots come out of each door. | | BOMB GLOVE TEST BOTS - Test Bots that use the Bomb Glove | If you dodge the bots' attacks and just wait around, most of them | will do the attacking for you. They either attack themselves or other | bots. They're the easiest of the test bots, so feel free to attack | them with just the wrench, whenever you want. | | WALLOPER TEST BOTS - Test Bots that use the Walloper | These bots are harder. They're probably the only kind of test bot | that won't accidentally attack its own kind. Be careful, when the | bots come out of their rooms and occasionally afterward, they zoom | towards you quickly and damagingly. The Glove of Doom works well | here, and you can rival them with your own Walloper. | | PYROCITOR TEST BOTS - Test Bots that use the Pyrocitor | These guys are also hard. If two test bots next to each other | horizontally are lined up vertically, they will take care of each | other, but for most of them you'll have to do the job. Once again, + the Glove of Doom is good, so just be defensive and you can do it. GIANT RAIL PUZZLE ENEMIES | | MINES - Jump over them or swing your wrench. | | PLACED MINES - Some mines you see placed, just be ready to jump or | strike them when they come along. | | DIVIDERS - Jump over them. | | MONORAIL CARS - Your only way to dodge them here is to switch to | a rail on the side. You have to do this a lot in | this section so get used to it. | | SIDE SWITCHES - These aren't your enemies, but if you're going for | the Gold Bolt then you have to swing your wrench | with good timing to turn all these on. | | GAPS - There are two of these in the section, jump over them, | usually when you're at the very edge, to make it. | | END-OF-THE-LINES - The end of additional rails in the section. | Don't run into them or you die. | | MINE PLACERS - In the Gold Bolt section, you have to attack or jump | over the creatures who place the mines. | + If you don't lose a hit point in this task, you get a skill point. +----------------------------------+ | D-19 Drek's Fleet, Veldin Orbit | +----------------------------------+ No new weapons, so just save up for a Gold Weapon, the Tesla Claw or Ultra Nanotech if you haven't gotten it yet, or the RYNO. In this level weapons are only part of the role you need to play. There's also a Jet Fighter part and an optional swimming part. But as for weapons, you'll almost need the Tesla Claw, and the Walloper will come in handy too. You'll be switching in and out of the Hologuise a lot, so put it in your Quick Select. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure, probably not since there's no earth in the level HOLOGUISE TRAVERSAL ENEMIES: | | ROBOT DOGS - Small robotic dogs that bark and bite | Attack - bite, when they're right next to you | Health - low | These dogs will be in large packs in the Blarg Ship. If you're in | the Hologuise, they will just bark at you and the Sentry Bots won't | know what's up. Fortunately, these dogs won't turn on the ship's | alarms, so if it's just the dogs, attack them any way you want. | It's easy to do it with the Tesla Claw, since after all, the dogs | are robots and you can get them quickly. | | SENTRY BOTS - robots dwelling in all ships except the first one | Attack - shoot fast (though predictable) fireballs, and turn on the | ship's alarms (therefore the defense system activates) | Health - medium | You get the mass of these enemies when you use the Hologuise. The | main strategy is to be really close to them when you attack, so sneak | up on them with the Hologuise if you can, then use the Walloper, | Tesla Claw, or just your Wrench to take them out quickly before they | can attack on their own or press the alarm. | In this level, because of all the doors in the ships, it's hard to | use rockets or the RYNO to take a group out. So the Tesla Claw will | defeat them quickly and do the job. At one point there's a Sentry | Bot in a group of Robot Dogs. You'll need to do the job quickly, so | you'll almost need the Tesla Claw. If the alarms go off, go into an | empty side room and wait for it to turn off, if you can. | | LASERS - Lasers passing across the entrance to some rooms | It just takes a jump to get over these, but, unfortunately, you | can't jump when in the Hologuise. So make sure you have good timing + when you take the costume off in front of Sentry Bots. WATER TANKER TRAVERSAL ENEMIES: None of these enemies are defeatable. They're for avoiding. The strategy I made on this section is always stick to a side of the tube, I like the bottom. Then you can get to know where the mines and laser bugs in the area are, and get a timing pattern for the Zap Fans. This also helps for the skill point (Do the whole thing without losing one health point.) | | LASER BUGS - These bugs aren't as tricky as last time. They don't | move, they have a set line. But watch out for their beams when you | come around corners. | | ZAP FANS - These are mostly the toughies. Get into a good habit if | you're having trouble with these guys, that you can time your way | through the tunnel. FEEL FREE TO STALL if you're unsure about when | to pass by one of these things, since you have about 15 seconds of | free time to spare usually. One of the things to watch out for is | their speed, each fan is a little faster than the last one, so the | ones at the end of the tube can be hard. | | MINES - These are fairly easy and there are few of them in the | area. You can hear them humming when you approach them too, so if + you're having a problem just get used to where they are. BLARG FIGHTHER ENEMIES: | | THUNDER TURRETS - turrets whose bullets are blocking the entrance | to Drek's Flagship | Attack - shoot powerful beams (fatal to Ratchet, fairly damaging to | your ship) | Health - high | Hit these guys with your ship to complete the mission with the Jet. | I recommend using the missiles on these enemies. They don't go down | easily with the machine guns, and if you stay near them long enough | they will do major damage to you. Hang out in the rest of the level | instead, enjoying your last section of the game where you get to | ride a Blarg Ship. Regain health and missiles and take your time. | | LITTLE JETS - little ships hovering around the level | Attack - fire machine gun at your ship if they notice you | Health - medium | By destroying these little jets you can regain missile ammo and | health. Pretty helpful. It's easy enough using the machine gun on + these enemies. +-----------------------------+ | D-20 Kyzil Plateau, Veldin | +-----------------------------+ Well, here you are, back at Ratchet's Home. No new weapons, of course. But I recommend having a strong weapon for the Final Boss Fight. The Tesla Claw will be handy. And the RYNO will do wonders. Gold weapons will help. But if you have none of them then you're in for a challenge. And you better have the Gadgetron PDA! For the start of the level, a Suck Cannon will do you well, but you'll be mostly reliant on Visibombs and Rockets. Always look around corners with Visibombs and clear out the areas ahead, if you really want to play it safe. SAND MOUSE HOUSE IN THIS LEVEL: Not Sure HORNED TOADS - Little brown toads that bite Attack - They bite, after a short delay Health - low Just give a single swing of your wrench, and these enemies will go down. If they're across a ledge, a Comet Strike will do the job well. This time, the Suck Cannon will do you well too. Suck up these enemies and use them against all the other tougher enemies of the level. ELITE SOLDIERS - Powerful soldiers, Drek's best ones, that hover Attack - three rockets at an accurate and long range Health - high These guys are back and they're tougher than ever. You probably have some good cash by now, so stand back where they can't hit you and use your Visibombs. If you need to get up close, use the Walloper or the Tesla Claw. Defeat ten of these enemies with just your wrench (!!!) (meaning you have to use a jumping strike) for a skill point. ELITE SOLDIER SHIPS - ships that host the elite soldiers Attack - fire rockets at you Health - high These ships are in more frequent places, and they attack you this time. Use Visibombs from far away to stay safe, since they don't move around that much. ROCKET TANKS - tough and powerful tanks that fire rockets Attack - fire rockets at you if you get near them Health - high Like the last tanks, don't go near them. So, like all the other enemies in the level, use the Devastator or Visibomb Gun. Not that hard in comparison. CHAIRMAN DREK - The game's final boss You fight Drek with Ratchet after you fight him with Giant Clank. See "Chairman Drek" in the Bosses Section. GIANT CLANK ENEMIES Most of the way through the level, before a very open stretch of land, you can cut off to the side of the level and enlarge Clank. | | ELITE SOLDIERS/ELITE SOLDIER SHIPS | They're both very weak compared to Clank. Maybe if you stand in | place for about 30 seconds, they can do about one small section of | damage. But you can just give these enemies a punch and defeat them. | | CHAIRMAN DREK - The game's final boss | You fight Drek with Clank first. Go up to the large dish to | encounter him, at the Question Mark on the map. Have fun, and see + the bosses section for more. \\=================================================================// \\ Section E // // BOSSES \\ //=================================================================\\ +---------------------------------+ | E-01 Blarg Station Alien Queen | +---------------------------------+ This is your first boss fight. Although you don't get an infobot after it, do it anyway, since it contains a vital item for later in the game. This boss fight is fairly easy as long as you have full health, and full blaster ammo and some Glove of Doom ammo. The Suck Cannon might help, too. HEALTH: 3 "Sections" (each section is probably about 25 Blaster ammo) Health Sections - What she does [*I*I*] - Boss fight starts [*I*I ] - She releases the amoeboids [*I I ] - She releases the smaller aliens [ I I ] - Goodbye, Queen. ATTACKS: Fortunately, her only attack is a melee; if she gets next to you (she likes to chase after you), she will bite. But it's easy to stay far away enough. ~ The attack you want to watch out for is when she reaches the end of the first two "sections" of her health. The first time, she releases about 10 frogs. Use your Suck Cannon or just your wrench to defeat them. The boss herself stands back during this process. ~ The second time, she releases two aliens. Just let out a Glove of Doom to take care of them both. WHEN TO STRIKE: When it's the boss alone in the arena, and she's a good distance away from you, shoot her with the blaster. As long as you're facing her you should hit. For the Skill Point, use only your wrench to hit her and her allies. (I recommend not trying to defeat the smaller aliens with your wrench, it's risky. Instead, run away from them and chase after the boss. Once she dies, you get the skill point and can defeat the smaller aliens by other means.) Reach the end of her health meter and you've defeated your first boss! Good job! No more enemies in the level after this, go ahead to the man in the next room. You can fight this boss over again if you re-play the level. That way you don't need to start a new game for the skill point. +------------------------------------+ | E-02 Captain Qwark's Snagglebeast | +------------------------------------+ This should be your second boss fight. It's the only way to pass through to the next section. And you'll probably just need your Blaster (with full ammo) and some running and jumping skills to dodge its easy attacks. HEALTH: 6 "Sections". Actually, it takes out 3 of the sections for you. More on this in the When to Strike section. Health Sections - What it does [*I*I*I*I*I*] - He chases after you, normal attacks [*I*I*I*I*I ] - Let him chase you over a bridge [*I*I*I*I I ] - Jumps out of the lava, chases you, normal attack [*I*I*I I I ] - Let him chase you over another bridge [*I*I I I I ] - Jumps out of the lava, normal attacks + vacuum attack [*I I I I I ] - Let him chase you over the last bridge, be careful [ I I I I I ] - Sinks into the lava and is defeated. ATTACKS: This boss has three main attacks, one slightly special attack, and a routine it has when it loses a health section. ~ When it walks towards you slowly, fire rings come out from its feet. Just jump over these, if you're far away enough they won't reach you at all. ~ Also after it lets out the fire rings, it will let out a glare and a laserbeam appears over a crack of land where you're standing, just move out of the way before flames appear in that crack! The attack will reach you wherever you are in the arena, but it's easy to avoid. ~ Don't get too close, or it will let out a stream of fire- balls at its feet. ~ When you take out one of its Health Sections, it will give itself a shield and let out fireballs near it. Don't try attacking it and run away, more in the "When to strike" part. ~ After it has 4 sections of health taken away, watch out for a new special attack. It may envelope you in a breath attack (that looks a lot like a Suck Cannon Vacuum) and take out all your ammo, scattering it around. Just go around and collect it again. WHEN TO STRIKE: When it's letting out the usual rings of fire and the crack-in-the-ground laserbeam, shoot it repeatedly with the blaster. ~ When you take away a Health Section and it gets its shield, let if follow you onto one of the bridges. Though the bridge won't support you, it will collapse with it on it, and the Snagglebeast will lose another health point. Good Luck! The battle isn't that hard as long as you're cautious. Your attack is as important as your defense in this battle. So show Qwark and this beast who's boss. When you're done, you get a new level (with a very useful but expensive weapon) and a new ship. +----------------------------+ | E-03 Captain Qwark's Ship | +----------------------------+ Your third boss fight. As usual, defense is important in this one. As long as you get used to avoiding or shooting down his missiles and mines, the battle shouldn't be that annoying. HEALTH: Six sections. There are six sections of his ship, and you destroy each of them in an order, from outside to middle. Each time you take out a section he may have a surprise for you. Health Sections - Condition of his ship - What he does [*I*I*I*I*I*] - The whole ship - He just lets out missiles [*I*I*I*I*I ] - Far left destroyed - He also starts letting out mines [*I*I*I*I I ] - Far right destroyed - He does the "close up challenge" [*I*I*I I I ] - Close left destroyed - He summons his defense ships [*I*I I I I ] - Close right destroyed - He does "close up challenge" [*I I I I I ] - Ship structure destroyed - He attacks more frequently [ I I I I I ] - Ship out of control - Qwark is history! ATTACKS: He has a variety of attacks. As I said, defense is what you want, and you can destroy his missiles and his mines that are in his path before they reach you. ~ Missiles: His primary attack. Dodge them or shoot them before they hit you. But focus on shooting him too. ~ Mines: About the same as the missiles, though he lets more out but they aren't as common. ~ "Close Up Challenge": he uses a Vacuum to summon you to right next to his ship, and he fires missiles from either side of his ship. Just shoot the missiles and keep them from hitting you to complete the challenge. ~ Defense ships - when you take out half of his health, he summons a bunch of defense ships to guard his path. Take care of them quickly, and maybe use missiles, so they don't take away too much of your health. WHEN TO STRIKE: When you're not keeping one of his missiles or mines from hitting you, you should always be attacking him! Always keep the machine gun going, and once you lock on to a section of his ship use your own missiles to do damage fast. Good luck, until you get lots of practice, you'll want it. Once you defeat him, here come the goods, an Infobot, your first Gold Weapons Store (do a wall jump in the mysterious room near the takeoff ramp) a new ship, and one of my favorite levels afterward, with an amazing new weapon in it, the Tesla Claw. So look forward to finishing this battle! +---------------------+ | E-04 Chairman Drek | +---------------------+ >~ INTRODUCTION ~< This is the hardest boss in the game. This is also the one I go most in-depth on, with a few different sub-sections. This boss probably gave you a little surprise when you went up to him with Clank. But after you remove the first section of his health, he shrinks down Clank and you have to fight the rest of him as Ratchet. But at this point you can save your game, buy more ammo, and more. Spend bolts on a good weapon, or the Ultra Nanotech, but save at least 10,000 bolts, since you'll need it for buying more ammo through the Gadgetron PDA. >~ WHAT WEAPON TO USE? ~< To prepare for this boss battle, you'll need a few things. Prepare your Quick Select with all of your best weapons, plus the Gadgetron PDA and the Swingshot. One of the biggest mistakes you can do is jump off an arena island and realize the swingshot's not equipped. If your best weapon is the Devastator, then you can use it. It can be hard to use, but you can use it at pretty long range. Since it doesn't damage that well and you usually have to face the target and possibly aim it, it can be a frustrating. So if you have the Devastator, you can do it, but it will be hard. The Visibomb Gun isn't that much better than the Devastator. If you stand still in this boss battle, you'll probably get damaged quickly. So you can't really fire a shot without getting hit and having the Visibombs miss. I guess you just have to have good timing and placement to use this effectively. The Tesla Claw is the best, most affordable solution. As long as you hold down Circle and stay near the boss it's simple. The only hard part is staying near him so you can use the weapon. But it deals damage fast. The Gold Tesla Claw is also great. But, if you have it, use the RYNO. It makes the battle easy. You don't need to aim or hesitate or anything, and you probably won't need to refill on ammo with the PDA, either. >~ HEALTH and HEALTH SECTIONS ~< Drek has a ton of health. He has seven full sections, the first that you take out with Clank, and there's no easy way to drop it quickly. But with your best weapon, you can do it. Health Sections - What he does immediately New location - New attacks or strategies [*I*I*I*I*I*I*] - Drek shows himself and battles with Clank Satellite Dish - Use Clank to battle him [*I*I*I*I*I*I ] - Drek reduces Clank, and moves onto a new island Rock Island #1 - He uses Fire Waves and RandomRockets [*I*I*I*I*I I ] - Drek nukes the current island and moves to a new one Rock Island #2 - He uses Fire Waves, RandomRockets, and Mines [*I*I*I*I I I ] - He nukes and moves, talks, sets counter for 30 sec. Laser Arena - Uses Fire Waves, RandomRockets, Mines, & Small Bots [*I*I*I I I I ] - He stops and sets counter for 25 seconds Laser Arena - Uses the above 4 weapons, some in larger quantities [*I*I I I I I ] - He stops and sets counter for 20 seconds Laser Arena - Uses the above 4 weapons, and the Big Blue Laser [*I I I I I I ] - He stops and sets counter for 15 seconds Laser Arena - Uses the above 5 weapons, and missiles start falling [ I I I I I I ] - Drek is defeated >~ DREK vs. CLANK ~< You shouldn't have any trouble with this part. You just need to take out one health section, by the time your health is down to zero, his health should be around there too. Just keep punching him constantly, and when you can, use the atomic blast (triangle). >~ DREK vs. RATCHET ~< Earlier above I talked about what weapons to use, and now I'll talk about his attacks and when to deal damage to him. ATTACKS: He has quite a few of them. At first he only uses two of them, but eventually he'll have a lot of them to use, and you'll be dodging a lot and striking rarely. ~ Fire Waves: This is an easy attack to dodge, and is when you should strike. Just jump over them. ~ RandomRockets: These are a bit harder, and I don't recommend trying to attack him when he's using these. Just keep moving around, and never be standing on one of the rockets' targets (they show up on the ground). ~ Mines: You have experience with these. Just stay away from them, like the RandomRockets. Don't try shooting the boss, the ammo will end up just wasting itself on the mines. The mines all disappear when he uses the Fire Waves. ~ Setting the counter: Just get to the counter immediately and hop on the button! After you press it, Drek chases you to the edge of the arena. Just hop on the rail bordering the arena and slide away from him, and he'll stop. ~ Small Bots: Like the mines, just run away from them and don't waste ammo. If they're getting too close, hop on the border rail and just avoid them. Or use the Suck Cannon to get rid of them quickly, and fire at Drek. ~ Big Blue Laser: You don't want to be nuked like the two previous islands were!! Just avoid this attack and don't try attacking him. You can dodge it by riding the border rail, or by boost jumping back and forth quickly. ~ Falling Missiles: I never encountered these when facing Drek, but when he's down to less than one health point, missiles start falling from the sky onto the arena. Watch out! WHEN TO STRIKE: The Fire Wave attack is your best opportunity to strike. If you're using the Devastator or the RYNO, let out a round each time you jump. It's a little harder with the Tesla Claw, you have to get near him, and chase him around. But you can chase him around for a while, if he uses the RandomRockets they probably still won't hit you. Good luck with this boss! You have a kind of funny ending coming up. You can't play in your current game after beating the final boss, but you can start a new game with your current weapons, and the "Goodies" menu. \\=================================================================// \\ Section F // // FAQS - Frequently Asked Questions \\ //=================================================================\\ +-------------------------------+ | F-01 Weapon/Gadget/Item FAQs | +-------------------------------+ Q: How many weapons are there? A: 15, see the Weapons section. Q: What weapon is the best? A: Definitely the RYNO, and the Gold Weapons are cool too. But since they're all so expensive, the most useful yet cheap weapon for me is the Tesla Claw. Q: Where can I get gold weapons? A: The first place you can get Gold Weapons is after you beat Captain Qwark's ship in the boss fight, at the level Gemlik Base, Oltanis Orbit. The first 5 gold weapons are in a tall building by that level's takeoff pad, do a wall jump to reach the elevator to the weapons room. ~ You have to beat the game to get access to the second place. Beat the game and choose to start a new game with your weapons. In Tobruk Crater, Novalis in your second game, you see a Teleport Pad near where your ship arrives that you can take to the Gold Weapons room. Now all 10 Gold Weapons are available. Q: Where's the Robot Decoder / Code Bot? A: It's in Drek's Fleet in Veldin Orbit, you have to go through the water challenge. For that you need the Hydro Pack from Hoven. It's also known as the CodeBot. +------------------+ | F-02 Enemy FAQs | +------------------+ (None yet) +-----------------+ | F-03 Boss FAQs | +-----------------+ Q: What weapon will kill the Snagglebeast/fire boss? A: The Blaster will do the job, make sure you have full ammo before the fight. The Pyrocitor and Glove of Doom don't work that well. +--------------------------+ | F-04 Miscellaneous FAQs | +--------------------------+ Q: What are skill points, and how do you get them? A: Skill points are special tasks you can do in the game. They could include shooting down ships, or getting a certain time on a race, or not losing any health during a challenge. ~ During your first game, you may have a little surprise of some skill points popping up. After you beat the game your first time, you get a skill point menu to see which ones you have and haven't completed. Q: How do I get a lot of bolts really quickly? What's the best way to get more bolts? What's a good way to get bolts for the Gold Weapons/Tesla Claw/ Ultra Nanotech/RYNO? A: See the next question. Q: What's the 100,000 Bolts an hour trick? A: There is a trick that you can do late in the game (after you visit Gadgetron Site) that can get you a lot of bolts really fast, and you don't even need to be touching the controller. You need the Taunter and the Hologuise (the Bolt Grabber helps too). Go to Blackwater City's Raceway Plaza, and put on the Hologuise before entering the race. You should enter the race as Ratchet without a hoverboard. You cannot turn the camera at this point, so know where you're going. Walk to the level's giant jump, and position yourself under all the floating crates right after the jump. You shouldn't be able to see them. Equip the taunter and simply use it by pressing Circle, and bolts should start raining! With the Bolt Grabber, you can be getting 100,000 bolts an hour. Just leave a rubber band around Circle, or put a heavy object on it to keep it held down. The bolts should keep going as long as the Taunter's equipped. NOTES: ~ To get out of the race at this point when you're done, just finish walking the lap and you should be back on the hoverboard. I recommend looking up the prices of all the weapons/gadgets you want to buy and make sure you have that many bolts before leaving. ~ You can only use this trick ONCE. Once you leave the race, the bolts won't be in the crates any more. So get the most out of it. ~ Thanks to MrFelix0123 for this information!
