This guide does contain spoilers. I will try to minimize them, though. Also, this guide is written with the assumpition that you have not played the previous games. This is my guide for Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Sprits. I am writting this guide as I play, so I will add new information as I have it. Please, do not e-mail me with questions, or submissions until I have reached the full version. If you have a suggestion, or find a typo, however, please let me know so I can fix it. Also, this guide should not be found on any sites other than GameFAQs.com. When I reach the final version, I may distribute this guide, but not until then (and never to sites like cheatcc.com). So please don't ask. One final note, although I have played the previous games, it was a while back, and I don't remember them too well (and I might get them confused with the anime). If you have a question about previous games, or the conection to this one, please check one of the message boards. For your convenience, I have included a search function. just hit Ctrl-F (or whatever your search command is), and search for the tag for each section. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------Section 0: New This Update--------------------------------(al_newt)------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Some new formating. A - Because I created this section as a placeholder. I will add some questions later, when I get some. Today is really just reformating / walkthrough day. ----Gameplay Tips---- * Keep a healthy supply of Spirit Stones. Later in the game, this will become easier, but in the begining it wouldn't be a bad idea to spend any extra cash on them. * Clear out the enemies one at a time. A monster at 1 HP will still do normal damage. If you can hit multiple enemies, by all means do so. But, try to hit targets you have already attacked first. * Heal before battle. You are given a change before every battle to switch equipment and to heal. So you have no excuse to lose a battle because you didn't heal. Also, This means that if one character is low on health, you might want to finish off that last monster, instead of healing. You won't get forced into another battle without a chance to heal. * Talk to everyone. This is true for all RPGs, this one included. You never know who might give you a usful tip, or directions to your next destination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------Section 3: Walkthrough------------------------------------(al_walk)------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------Kharg: First Battle---------------------------------------(al_kha1)------ When the game begins, you will find yourself in Yewbell, Kharg's hometown. After a conversation, Lloyd will go off and talk to Banjo. You can follow them, or enter Kharg's house (the closest one). If you do enter Kharg's house, you will hear a voice. Enter Nafia's room, to find a gem. Exmaine it to see some of the backstory. When you are done, leave and find Banjo. Speak to him, and he will tell you about a strange man on Scrappe Plateau. Kharg will offer to investigate, and Paulette will join you. Explore the town, and leave when you are finished. On the world map, you will only have one destination. Select Scrappe Plateau, and you will be off. ----Scrappe Plateau---- When you arrive, you will see an old man being attacked by Suskle Squirrels. Kharg will charge in to the rescue, and your first fight will begin. It's an easy fight, and a good way to become familiar with the battle system. Play around, try out what Paulette suggests, and press buttons to see what they do. If you do get hurt, both players start with a heal herb, and Paulette has a healing skill. Pick up any dropped items before the end of the battle, or you lose them. Paulette is good for this, because she has a lower attack, and can attack from some distance. After the fight, the old man will introduce himself. Nothing else can be done here for now, so leave, and return to town. ----Yewbell---- You must report back to Lloyd, so head to Kharg's house to find him. After the report, you will learn that some miners have not returned. Head to the refinery (below the town entrance), and speak to Banjo. After a conversation with him, head back to the town square, where you will see Morth return from the mines, wounded. After he is bandaged up, Lloyd will assemble the Defense Corps in the town square. Nafia will ask you not to go, but go to the square anyway. Lloyd will refuse to bring you, and a guard will prevent you from leaving the town. Return to Kharg's, for a lecture. After speaking with Nafia, enter her room, and talk to Morth. Leave Khargs house, and you will hear a knocking from the other side of the castle gates. Zev wants in, and you want out, so talk to Duncan at the bar, to get the key. Unlock the door, and enter the castle ruins. There is only one path, so find your way out. Once on the world map, go to the Chaos Forest. ----Chaos Forest---- Here, you will meet Maru, King of the Chaos Forest. Maru will join you to fight a group of monsters. This fight is still pretty easy. Focus your attacks on the Wild Slothian, and it should fall quickly. With him gone, the others should be easy. You can even attack the stump if you want. After the fight, Maru will join you for a while longer. Leave, and continue on. ----The Edge of a Sea of Trees---- This is just a random battle. Keep in mind, that Maru's attack can hit several enemies, if they are in a line. Also, try to conserve your Spirit Stones during this fight. When you are victorious, head to the next site. ----Plumb Canyon---- When you arrive, Kharg will jump in to save Paulette. This time, you will be fighting Deimos. This fight is harder, but if you play it smart, shouldn't be too much trouble. Use Maru's special to poison the enemies, and use Kharg's to do some good damage. Don't worry about burning up to many spirit stones here, use them if you feel like it. Use Paulette for healing, and don't let your helth slip too much. The Deimos have strong magic attacks, and can do decent damage to several people, if they are close. Stick it out, and focus your attacks on one target at a time, and you should win. After the fight, you will kind of be scolded again, and Lloyd and Paulette will leave. Maru will leave your party, but speak to him to get him to rejoin. When you are done, head back to Yewbell. The rest of this chapter is just cut-scenes, so sit back, and save when prompted. ------Darc: Awakening------------------------------------------(al_dar1)------ When Darc's chapter starts, you will be asked to get some Phoenix Blood. Leave, and head to Orcoth. Along the way, you will have to fight. ----Sabnak Forest---- This is a random battle spot, but this first fight will let you get used to fighting as Darc. Darc's magic is strong, but you may not want to use 10 spirit stones. Darc can also heal himself, if he needs it. After the fight, continue on. ----Orcoth---- When you enter, you will be "greeted" by Delma. There isn't much you can do now though, so just explore, and head to the arena when you are done. When you get there, Densimo and Gorma will be arguing. After Gorma leaves, you may leave also. When you go back to the city, the Quorup will have arrived. Go to the previously empty shop, and buy the Phoenix Blood from the Quorup. Try to leave, and you will be stopped by Zoram and Zugalo. Darc will have to beat them in order to leave. The fight can be tough. Try not to get caught between them. Head over to one's side, and hit him with magic. Two wind attacks should beat each. If you stay far enough away, you won't be attacked by bot at once. Once you beat both, return to Geedo's. ----Geedo's House---- Return the Phoenix Blood, and she will ask you to find a Firble. Gorma seemed to know a lot about them, so return to Orcoth and ask him about Firbles. He will recommend some place with fresh water, and three new spots will open up on the map. What you want is at Haystir Marsh. ----Haystir Marsh---- When you arrive, you will spot the Firble. Sneak up on it, and catch it. Afterward, Darc will hide it from Zoram and Zugalo. When they leave, Darc will take it to The Church Ruins. ----The Church Ruins---- After setting the Firble up with a new home, Delma will surprise Darc. After their conversation, the two will be attacked by some Drakyr. Fight them like normal, focusing on one at a time. Delma's fire magic works better than Darc's wind in this case. Dispatch the invaders, and Darc will have to rush home. ----Geedo's House---- The next morning, Geedo will be gone. Delma will stop buy to check up on Darc, and Darc will suggest checking up on the Firble. Return to The Church Ruins. ----The Church Ruins---- While checking on the Firble, a band of mercanaries will show up looking for treasure. Fight the humans the same way you fought the Deimos. When they have been killed, head to Orcoth to seek Densimo's help. ----Orcoth---- Talk with Densimo, and will we agree to help Darc fight the Drakyr, if he helps drive the humans away. Densimo will inform you of Humans at the Zedora Abyss, so head there. ----Zedora Abyss---- Densimo charges in to fight the humans, and Darc is dragged in behind him. The humans don't have a lot of health, but they do work well together, and do decent damage. Have Densimo increase the defense of the team, then attack for the rest of the battle. Have Darc heal when nessicary, and attack when not. After the fight, return to Orcoth. ----Orcoth---- As soon as you arrive, the team will decide to find Geedo. Before you leave though, heal, buy spirit stones, stock up on Good Herbs, and save. When you are set, go to The Varam Barrens. ----The Varam Barrens---- After some dialogue with the Drakyr, your team will have to fight again. This is a completly typical fight, so save your herbs and spirit stones (at least Darc's), unless you need them. After the fight, sit back for a second, and watch the events unfold. When you wake up, head back to Orcoth to save (and re-supply if you haven't). After that, head back to The Church Ruins. ----The Church Ruins---- When you arrive, you will be greeted by the Drakyr, Geedo, and Densimo. Before the fight, check out your new skills, make sure you are healed, refill your spirit stones, and set a few Good Herbs on Darc; this fight can be pretty hard. For this fight, stay back and let the enemy come to you, and try not to fight more than one at a time. You will probably be faced by Densimo first, which is good. Hit him as hard and fast as you can. Take him out first, and use all your best attacks on him. After he is gone, you will probably face the two Drakyr. They can deal out the damage, but can't take it. A few attacks should put them down, leaving only Geedo. She can do the most damage, but has virtually no defense. A few hit will take care of her too. Though out the whole fight, use herbs to heal, and use your spirit stones for attacking. If you lose, try again (had you save in Orcoth for a reason). Otherwise, enjoy the little scene, and save when prompted. ------Kharg: Setting Out----------------------------------------(al_kha2)------ After Kharg's inaguration, his mother will ask to speak to him. Return to Kharg's home, and she will give you half of the Wind Stone. Afterwards, you will need to patrol the town and help anyone you can. You will find Paulette outside the refinery. Talk to her, and she will inform you that Banjo has a job for you. Step inside, and talk to him. He will ask you to check on his assistant, who went to Plumb Canyon. Agree, then find Maru outside the inn. He will tell you that Duncan has a job for you. Inside, speak to Duncan, and a woman will tell you of her stolen ring. Agree to find it, and go into the room at the top of the stairs. This man will tell you about an item he hid when he was a child, and ask you to find it. Agree, re-supply, save, and head out. ----Scrappe Plateau---- There are four weak bandits here. Teach them a lesson, and they will return the braclet they stole. Confused and ringless, leave, and head to the next destination. ----Plumb Canyon---- Here, you will find Banjo's assistant, and a bunch of Dancing Shells. Once again, slaughter all the monsters. This fight can be tricky, because the enemy can poison you. Hopefully, you have Maru's antidote skill, or some antidotes saved up. If not, just keep your health up. After the fight, you will have to find a way to shut the oil leak. Simply turn the handle, and the leak will stop. When you are set, head to your final destination. ----The Edge of a Sea of Trees---- Search all the rocks (small stone in the South-East corner), until you find the old pot. As soon as you find it, you will be attacked... for some reason. This is another text-book fight. There are several enemies, but they are pretty weak. After they are defeated, return to Yewbell. ----Yewbell---- First, check up on Banjo, then head to the inn. Speak to Duncan to find out why the bandits had a braclet, instead of a ring, then return the pot to the strange man. He will reward you with some info, then leave. Head back downstairs, and speak to Zev at the bar. He will tell you about an airship crash in Dragon Bone Valley. Re-supply, and save, as usual. Make sure you are well prepared this time though, and maybe buy a few extra (like 100) spirit stones. Isulo Forest and Punoir Ravine are just random battles this time, so clear through them, and enter the Dragon Bone Valley. ----Dragon Bone Valley---- When you arrive, Kharg will see a body laying on the ground. Run over to her, and Lilia will wake up. Before you can leave though, the Deimos will attack. For this fight, you must protect Lilia. She can only take one hit from a spell, or two normal attacks at full health, so keep her healed. Herbs work a bit better, as they heal a fixed amount, and not a percentage. Stay between Lilia and the enemy, and you should be fine. Once you escape the valley, start the trek home. When you reach the Isulo Forest, you will encounter a new friend, and a new enemy. Ganz will join you for this first fight against the Dilzweld Army. You have to beat all of the enemies, and cut down the bridge. Head straight for the bridge with Ganz, and take on the troops with everyone else. Once the bridge is down, clean up the remaining troops. It should be easy with your new powerhouse friend. After the fight, Ganz will bandage Lilia's leg, and kick you out of his forest. With no other path, continue on. ----Scrappe Plateau---- Lilia will ask to stop, and try to leave, but Kharg won't allow it. The Dilzweld Army of course shows up to ruin a moment. Go all out, and wipe out the troops. Don't bother conserving spirit stones. After the fight, the Dilzweld Army's reinforcments show up. Right as Lilia is double crossed, Kharg's true power awakens, and his magic becomes available to you. After the shock wears off, head home. ----Yewbell---- Stop by Kharg's to rest for the night. In the middle of the night, Nafia will wake him to search for Lilia. Check the Castle Ruins, to find Lilia playing a strange instrument. After the dialogue, Kharg returns to bed. The next morning, rejoin your party and stop by the bar to speak with Zev. Zev will suggest using parts of a wrecked Airship to repair Lilia's. Head to Scrappe Plateau, and find the new parts. To get them though, you will need a battery. You may not remember, but you saw one at Plumb Canyon. Grab it, insert it into the machine at the Scrappe Plateau, and take the replacement parts. Return to Yewbell, and pick up Lilia. Make any last minute purchases, save, and head back to Dragon Bone Valley. ----Dragon Bone Valley---- When you arrive, Ganz will great you and offer to repair the Big Owl. While Ganz is making the repairs, speak to everyone, then go outside to say goodbye to Nafia. Return to the ship and depart. You won't get far though, as you crash in the Asheeda Forest. ----Asheeda Forest---- When you come to, you will find Lilia missing. Head out into the forest in search of her. You will first fight the Deimos, followed by the Dilzweld. Contiue wandering around and fighting until you are rescued by Sampson the thief. He will offer to search for Lilia. Sampson tells you to wait for the news at his base, so leave the forest, and head to Wilbur Shore. ----Wilbur Shore---- Choose any password to gain entrance, and head down the stairs to find Sampson. Just as you arrive, so does the report. Sampson informs you that Lilia was seen on her way to Cathena, but Dilzweld was on her tail. Rush off to Cathena to try and meet up with her. ----The Republic of Cathena---- Cathena has some good new equipment, so upgrade anything you can. You can also fight at the arena if you have 100G. Stop by the Assembly Hall, and enter the center room. Watch the cut-scene, and save when prompted. ------Darc: Ambition-------------------------------------------(al_dar2)------ Right away, Zoram will suggest visiting the dungeon. It is under the stair case, near the entrance. Downstairs, You will find Delma, now cursing Darc, and threating to kill him. When you are done talking to Delma, speak to the Orcon outside Gorma's house. He will inform you that Gorma has gone to look for Firbles. Leave town, and go back to The Church Ruins. ----The Church Ruins---- Check the Firble's nest to find one remaining egg. Darc will call an Orcon to guard it, so when the egg is safe, return to Geedo's House. ----Geedo's House---- Remember that chest you couldn't open earlier? Now that Geedo is dead, it's all yours. Inside, you will find the Phoenix Blood and Ancient Tablet 1. A strange ghost will appear before Darc, and ask him to collect all of the tablets. There is nothing else to do right now, so check on Gorma at the Haystir Marsh. ----Haystir Marsh---- Gorma will be unable to find a Firble, and so will Darc. With your last lead exausted, return to Orcoth. ----Orcoth---- When you arrive, Zoram will inform you of a strong Deimos at the arena. Run over, and you will meet Volk. You will have to fight Volk, but he isn't too strong for you to handle. Go all out if you have to, but when you beat him, he will join Darc's party. No rest for Darc though, as Zugalo soon infors him that Delma is acting "strange". Strange actually means calm, and after a short talk, Delma will rejoin Darc. You now need transportation, so speak to the Orcon at the edge of town, to learn about an airship crash on Deimos land. Get ready for a trip, then leave town. The Befron Mountain Pass and Mulmoth Meadows are just random battles, so cruise through to the Asheeda Forest. ----Asheeda Forest---- Head to the Airship wreck (you know where) to find the Dilzweld Army. A fight will ensue, but nothing you haven't done countless times before. Dispatch the soldiers in your usual manner, then search the forest for Lilia. A fight later, you will encounter Tatjana. She is a bit harder than the other troops, but nothing you can't handle. If you are having trouble though, remember that Delma can raise your speed, and Volk can raise attack and defense. After you beat Tatjana, and she reveals an unsettling ability, Darc will spot Lilia. Follow her, and watch the events. Once you can control Darc again, rejoin Volk and return to Orcoth. ----Orcoth---- When you return, have a few words with Delma, then return to find Lilia in trouble. Speak to Lilia in the dungeon, to begin weaving the two sides of the story together. When you are done, speak to Gorma again. He will have some suggestions on raising a Firble, but you still don't have one. Go back to The Ruined Church, to find your egg has hatched. Report back to Gorma, and he will begin working on the Fire Fragment for you. You may already have the Phoenix Blood, but if not, check Geedo's House. The only peice left is the Rebound Fruit. So head to the Tindalos Woods, and start killing birds. ----Tindalos Woods---- You will find the fruit after the battle, so don't worry when the enemies don't drop one during the battle. If you don't get one, try again. Once you get one, return to the Fible, and feed it the first two parts, then retunr to Orcoth for the last. ----Orcoth---- When you return, Orcoth will be quiet. Check the dungeon, to find the main Orcon listing to Lilia's song. After Darc interupts, Gorma will tell you that Fire Fragment is with the Quorup. Check with him, and buy it for 500G. Feed it to the Firble, and it will fall asleep. Return to Orcoth again, and you will find it in distress. Check on the survivors hold up in the arena, to find out what happened. Since the humans responsable are at the Varam Barrens, head there. After saving and re-suppling of course. ----Varam Barrens---- Before you can save Lilia, the Dilzweld Army will send it's Argewalt after you. The Argewalt cannot move, and can only attack you if you get close. If you are out of it's range, it will summon weak monsters. Ignore the monsters if you want, or if you are in a hurry. Otherwise, kill them for easy experiance. When you attack the Argewalt though, do it with everyone. It can confuse you, which you want to avoid if possible. Finish it quickly, and your shouldn't have trouble. After the fight, you will have a new ally, who is stronger than she looks. Camellia will suggest visiting the Coelopt, to gain their Miracle Stone, But you still can't get there. Return to Orcoth, and speak to Gorma. He will say that the Firble is fine, so check on it at The Church Ruins. ----The Church Ruins---- Your guard will be freaking out, but your Firble will have grown into a Pyron. The new Pyron will take you over the sea, to a new land, but you will still have to hike a bit (Pyrons like water). Also, from this point on, Darc can use the Pyron like a spell in battle. He has limited strength, but can be restored with Pyron feed, or spirit stones. On the new map, Ngai Plain and Tsatuga Plateau are random battle spots, while Rueloon is a Deimos city. If you have some extra cash, upgrading your equipment there would be a good plan. Otherwise, make your way to The Coleopt Shrine. ----The Coleopt Shrine---- The Coleopt are pretty Xenophobic, and Darc doesn't really have time to be diplomatic, so bust up the Coleopt Army, and enter the shrine. The Coleopt have a skill that lowers most of you stats, which makes it really hard to fight. The only cure is the froth that they drop. So, stock up, if you can. Other than that, they aren't anything special. Once you make it inside though, you will find the Dilzweld Army, already inside. Bust them up, like you have before, and Camilla will betray Darc. Camellia will call on Bebodora, who will control the last two Dilzwelders, and attack you. After an easy fight, she will control the two Skull Warriors, and attack again. They are a good bit stronger, but still nothing you can't handle. Attack one at a time, and avoid the other if you can. After the skeletons are defeated, Bebedora will tell you the way out. Press the switch to drain the water, and Bebedora will join you. Open all three chests, and pick up the Ancient Tablet 4, on the ground, before going through the door. On the other side of the door, Camellia will force her way back into your party. Make sure you are well prepared, and commense the boss fight. Fighting Selkis is much like fighting the Argewalt earlier. Her tentacles can only summon new monsters, and will up to a certain number. Take then out, one at a time, and clear out any stray monsters. Once all four are defeated, attack Selkis. Selkis has a low defense, so it is easy to do damage to her. However, she has ice magic, that can hurt several people. But, if you attack her with everyone, she shouldn't get more than 3 spells off. If this fight proves to be tougher than you expected, remember to use your stat boosting spells, and the Pryon to attack groups of people. And be sure to use a Coleopt Froth, as soon as you need one. After a long, drawn out fight, Darc will obtain the Water Stone, and the chapter will end. Save, and begin the next chapter. ------Kharg: Conflict-------------------------------------------(al_kha3)------ When the chapter opens, follow Savina to learn about the Fire Stone. She will tell you it can be found in Epistra, so head out in search of Ganz, who is right infront of the Assembly Hall. Speak to him, and he will tell you that he has found a person that knows about his friend, and rejoin you. Stop by the Arena, and speak to the mercenaries there. They will break the bad news to Ganz, and he will vow revenge. Leave town, and board the Big Owl. Select Epistra from the location list, and you will be off. When you land in Epistra, start your journey to Sulfas. The Torey Hills is a random battle spot, and the Kassim Highway is a road block. ----Kassim Highway---- You will have to answer some questions to pass, and I don't think it matters how you answer the first three. The correct answer to the fourth question though is "Darkham Ekid na Bard". Once you are through, take the final steps to Sulfas. ----Sulfas---- When you arrive, stop by the Item Shop to witness a conflict. Afterwards, take a look around town, making sure you talk to the barkeep. Afterwards, return to the item shop, where Kharg will save Leonora. As a reward, she will tell you Jaqual's password. Search around town for him, and tell him the password. He will then open up shop, and tell you about the base under the bar. Head over to the bar, and get a riddle from the barkeep. Read rule seven on the wall, to find a switch. Press it, and you will gain access to the Rebellion's base. Inside, you will find General Spencer, interogating Zev. Zev will tell you of the Fire Stone in The Mountain Stronghold, but Spencer will warn you about it. The Stronghold has two main defenses. The cannons, and reinforcements from Sulfas. Before you can cut off supplies and reinforcements from Sulfas, you have to cut off supplies and reinforcements to Sulfas. To do so, you must take out the troops at the Parenz Ruins, and The Viorav Mine. Before you head out though, re-supply at the shop in the base, and save at the Weapon Parts shop. ----Kassim Highway---- Of course, before you can get to either base, you have to clear out the road block. The guards are weak, but plentiful. Be careful on this one, because you can get over run in a hurry. As always, focus your attacks on one person, and hit any others you can in the process. As long as you can keep things under control, this fight shoule be nothing more than long. Afterwards, head to either base. ----Parenz Ruins---- The troops here are more of the same. After the fight however, you should do some exploring. You can find a few referances to the previous games, one being a replica of an old ally. After this base is secure, head to the other. ----The Viorav Mine---- Once again, nothing special. Just clear out the troops, then return to Sulfas. ----Sulfas---- The Dilzweld Army will retreat into the the Main Plant, so follow them and liberate the city. The fight in the Main Plant is another easy one. Once the remaining troops have been dealt with, enter the actual plant (the door to the left). Inside, you will find Spirit Dictionary Volume 3. Return to the bar base, and report to Spencer. Spencer's troops will rush off to attack The Mountain Stronghold, so re-supply, save, and rush off to save them. Routh Woods is just another random battle. ----The Mountain Stronghold---- When you arrive, Spencer's troops will be whiped out by the cannons. Ganz will make a point to tell Kharg that they can't hurt the cannons, and he's right. The goal is to save the troops, and all you have to do is "speak with" all three members. This will end your character's turn, so be careful. It's best to stay back and defeat any enemies that come down toward you. Once most of the enemies are beaten, rush in to save the troops. The top left one is the hardest to save, as both cannons will attack you. Draw the fire of one with another character, and rush in with one that can heal themself (everyone except Ganz). Once you have saved all the troops, return to Sulfas. ----Sulfas---- Check with Spencer to devise a plan of attack. Fortunatly, when you chased the Dilzweld out, they left a weapon that can be used to wipe out the cannons. Head over to the Main Plant for the breifing. Kharg will be told that he needs three componants from the Parenz Ruins, and 200 spirit stones (which you can get for free at The Viorav Mine. First, head to the Parenz Ruins. ----Parenz Ruins---- The three componants you need can be found in the computer, radio, and microwave. Just check all the junk around until you find them. When you try to leave though, you will be attacked by ninjas. There are only three of them, and they dodge a lot. But, this fight shouldn't be hard, if you don't neglect healing. With all three peices in hand, swing by The Viorav Mine for some free spirit stones. ----The Viorav Mine---- Use the elevator near the entrance to enter the lower depths of the mine. Inside, you will be greated my more monsters. Yet again, there is no trick to winning, but you shouldn't need one. After you beat the monsters, you will need to find a way to get the spirit stones. Use the detonator on the left wall to blow some stones loose from the ceiling. You will collect much more than you need, so be happy with the extra spirit stones. Return to Sulfas, to begin the attack. ----Sulfas---- Bring your loot to the Main Plant, and the Big Owl will be refitted for combat. The Big Owl now acts like the Pyron for Darc. In battle, you can select it from Kharg's Special Attacks menu. Fully charged, the Big Owl can unleash 3 attacks. To recharge it, you must spend spirit stones. Make any final preparations, save, then charge The Mountain Stronghold again. ----The Mountain Stronghold---- The first battle is much like the previous one. However, this time you can use the Big Owl on the cannons. Use Kharg's first two turns to take out the cannons, then just play clean up. With the defneses down, you can enter the stronghold. Inside, is more troops. Dispatch them, and Kharg will drill the commander for information. Use the elevator, and enter the volcano. The first room has no enemies, and two treasure chests. Get them, and use the elevator on the other side. On the second floor, you will encounter a new kind of Deimos, the Lakelta. They are stronger than the Dilzweld, but still no challenge. Fire attacks are little use, so remove any gunpowder you have equipped. After the Deimos are defeated, use the next elevator. The next floor has one chest, so be sure to grab it before using the next elevator. That elevator leeds to more Deimos. Dispatch them, but make sure to save some healing items left over, and to not run out of spirit stones. After the fight, use the next elevator. The floor it brings you to will have two paths. To the left is a chest, and the right is a save point. After you get the chest, save, and go through the door to the right. This door takes you to the Fire Stone room, where you will find Tatjana in trouble. Kharg, natually, runs to her rescue, and a fight with the Lakelta Brothers begins. Tatjana joins you for this fight, but you can't control her. As always, focus all your attacks on one brother at a time. Which one, is up to you. Also, if you haven't used the Big Owls third attack yet, this is a great time to. Just try to hit all three at once. Use any special attacks you want, and don't bother saving spirit stones. The only word of warning is that the brothers are strong, and can do a lot of damage. Keep your health up, though, and you should be fine. After the fight, Kharg will aquire the Fire Stone, and lose it right away. Darkham betrays Kharg, abandons Tatjana, and destroys your escape route. Speak to Tatjana, then follow Ganz and speak to him. Just when all seems lost, Sampson shows up to save the day. Before you leave though, say some inspiring words to Tatjana, and you will gain a new ally. Afterward, the chapter ends, so save and get ready for the next. ------Darc: Love and Hate--------------------------------------(al_dar3)------ You start off in Rueloon, and your party is tired. Head to the inn, and get some rooms. Darc will wake up in the middle of the night to find the Water Stone, and Camellia gone. Find her in the Arena, along with a new enemy. Your team will rejoin you, and Darc will attack Droguza. Droguza is strong, but his help isn't. Take out the Drakyr, and your team of five will be more than enough to beat him. After you beat him though, the coward flies away, with the Water Stone. After the fight, head back into town. The desision to return to Ragnoth make Volk start to think. Find him, by going down the path below the inn (picking up the Ancient Tablet 5 on the way), and speak to him. Then, return to the inn and rest. Before heading out the next morning, re-supply. You should have a good bit saved up, so outfit your characters with the best equipment you can. When you are satisfied, return to your Pyron, and set out for Ragnoth. When you arrive, make your way to Drakyrnia. As you should remember, The Edge of a Sea of Trees is a random battle spot. ----Drakyrnia---- Drakyrnia is safer than you might think. Explore the town (making sure to pick up Ancient Tablet 2) until you find Sagen. He will suggest speaking to the Elder, so gove over to his house and enter. Williwo refuses to tell Drac where Droguza is hiding, but admits that he will have to if Darc becomes King of the Drakyr. To do so however, Darc must get the Dragon Master Crown. To do that, he must liberate the Dragon Bone Valley from the Dilzweld Army. Save, then head out. Punoir Ravine, as you may recall, is a random battle spot. ----Dragon Bone Valley---- Before you can enter the cave, you must defeat the Dilzweld Army. Fortunatly, it's a very standard fight. Dilzweld has not learned any new tricks, meaning this fight should not last long. After the army is beaten, pick up the Ancient Tablet 3, and enter the cave. Inside, Darc will obtain the Dragon Master Crown without any trouble. However, to leave, he must beat two dragons. The Dragons look intimidating, but are barely more than normal monsters. The dragons will sometimes even skip their turns, making it that much easier. However, you will still most likely need to heal a time or two. Obviouly, fight one at a time, maybe even using special attacks, if you can spare the spirit stones. After the dragons are defeated, and Darc is told of his heritage, leave and rejoin your team. Return to Drakyrnia with the crown, and show it to Williwo. ----Drakyrnia---- When you show Williwo the crown, Darc's past and family will be revealed to him. Williwo will also inform you that Droguza is working with the Dilzweld Army, and is at their base at Thunor Point. Rejoin your team again, and save. When you are ready, head out. ----The Yayu Dam Ruins---- To everyone surprise, your first fight is against Humans and Deimos, who are working together. Both of which, you have fought before. But, since the Humans are weaker (pysically), take them out first. Afterward, beat the traitorous Deimos. After the first fight, you will have to face the Dilzweld Army again. This fight should be easy after the last one, so finish it quickly, and continue on. ----Thunor Point---- You will be greeted by a new, stronger Droguza this time. This fight is faily similar to the last one against him though. Beat the lackys first, then concentrate on Droguza. He does hit hard now, so keep your health up. He can also take quite a beating, so unleash your strongest attacks to finish him without too much trouble. Keep at it, and use your Pyron if you need to. But, when he is beaten, reinforcements will arrive. Your team will hold them off while Darc enters the Megist to retrive the Water Stone. Inside are three rooms. Check the first two for chests, and since you can't use the elevator, examine the third door to sneak in. When the alarm sounds, lead Nafia and Lilia to the exit. When you reach it, Darc must fight two more guards. This fight is easy, so trash the guards. After the fight, Nafia will take a bullet for Darc, and Darc will have to take her back to Yewbell. Make your way though the random battles to Yewbell. ----Yewbell---- Just take Nafia to her house, and watch the end of the chapter. When prompted, save. ------Kharg: Rage-----------------------------------------------(al_kha4)------ Speak to the people in the bar if you want, then head downstairs and speak with Tatjana. After a conversation, head back upstairs to talk to Sampson. Kharg offers to find his crew, so set off into town to find them. Buster is where you found Jaqual, two chapters ago. Boomer can be found in the top right corner of Main Plant (outside). With both of them found, return to the bar, and see Sampson off. Afterwards, head out of town yourself. At the exit, Spencer will bring Tatjana, on his way to the prison. Tatjana will ask Kharg to join him, and he will accept. Now that you have a fifth character, head to the Weapon Parts shop to re-outfit everyone with the best equipment you can. The shop is also now selling ship parts, so buy some if you want to power up the Big Owl. When you are done, make your way back to The Mountain Stronghold. ----The Mountain Stronghold---- Inside, you will find a switch that Tatjana can operate. Go down this new path, and you will find the Spirit Dictionary volume 4, a chest, and a radio. The radio suggests that the Dilzweld Army is currently on Rangoth, so make your way back to the Big Owl, and select Rangoth as your destination. When you land, go to Yewbell. ----Yewbell---- When you arrive, everyone will be acting strange towards Kharg. Find Maru in front of one of the houses , for a scene. Then, enter Kharg's house to hear the bad news. Examine Nafia's grave, in the Castle Ruins, and watch the end of the chapter. Short as it was. ------Darc: Reunion-------------------------------------------(al_darc4)------ Straight away, go talk to Williwo. He will tell Darc's party about his past. Outside, Bebedora will suggest that Darc went to search for his brother, and Yewbell seems like a likey place to start. So, head out to the Chaos Forest. ----Chaos Forest---- Here, the party will send Bebedora in to investigate, as she can pass for human (despite the mouth on her stomach). Head into the Castle Ruins, and then into town. ----Yewbell---- First stop, is Kharg's. Bebedora will have a conversation with Paulette, who will then leave. Follow her to the bar, where she will dart off again. Explore the town some if you want, as it can be fun to talk with villagers. When you are done, return to the Castle Ruins, where you will be forced into a conversation with Maru. It will be interupted though, as Kharg's team grabs Maru, and rushes off to fight some Deimos in the Chaos Forest... ----Chaos Forest---- Delma, Volk, and Camellia will have to fight a group of Mercenaries, alone. The Fight can be tough, with 2/5 of your team missing, but Camellia's Healing Rain is a great spell to use, to tip the odds in your favor. After the fight, watch the grand reunion, and save at the end of this even shorter chapter. ------Kharg: Truth----------------------------------------------(al_kha5)------ Before you leave the Fiona, speak with Sampson, who will join you. Start you way down the only path available. Dahman Woods is a random battle, but when you arrive at The Beach, you will be treated to an event. ----The Beach---- Here, you will meet two Diemos Slothians. However, they aren't very helpful. So simply continue down the path to The Slothian Village. The Forest of the Hidden Ship is just another random battle. ----The Slothian Village---- Inside this strange village are Deimos and Humans, living together. Enter the hut-like-thing next to the entrance to converse with a Human and Slothian, then speak with the Slothian on the dock. He will mention that Darc and Lilia met with the elder Slothians, on Elder Hill. Exit to the left, and speak to the elders also. If you speak to all of them, you can learn a bit about Nafia and Windalf, along with a bit about the past. You will also learn the location of the Cave of Truth, so save and head out. ----Cave of Truth---- In the first room, you will find Darc and Lilia under attack. Kharg will reluctantly help Darc. For this fight, Darc will join you, but not under your control. Follow his lead, and attack the monsters he does. Don't worry about keeping Darc alive, as he will heal himself after every fight. Dispatch the enemy, and save Lilia. After the fight, Darc and Lilia will join you while you explore the cave. Darc will still continue to fight with you, and will still not be controlable. The Cave or Truth is like a big circle. Go through either opening, and the path will lead back to the other. Inside are three rooms. In each room is an engraving, that will attack you when read. After you beat the monsters, the engraving will open and release some spirits. Speak to the spirits for a story. When you have spoken to all the spirits, the gate in the main room will open. Enter, and the party will meet with the Spirit of Hope. After the meeting, returns to The Slothian Village. ----The Slothian Village---- Go to the dock to see a conversation between Lilia and Sampson, then speak to Sampson to have some of the story revealed. Afterward, speak to Lilia, then go to Elder Hill to speak with Darc. Kharg's "conversation" with Darc will be interupted by Lilia. Return to the village, to hear the news of the Dilzweld Army landing at The Beach. Save, and head to The Beach. ----The Beach---- At The Beach, Darc will join Kharg again to beat the Dilzweld. This fight is nothing new, but be sure to stay healed, as you don't have a full team. After the fight, your team will realize that this was a diversion. Rush back to The Slothian Village. ----The Slothian Village---- Head to Elder Hill to find the Dilzweld, too late. With Lilia gone, and the elders dead, you have nothing to do, except get revenge. Go all out, and slaugter the enemy. This is the last fight, so don't bother being conservitive. Simply put though, it's a very average fight. Afterward, a funeral will be held for the Elders, and Darc will leave. Find Sampson on the beach (in the village) to end this chapter. Save, and Darc's chapter will begin. ------Darc: Evolution------------------------------------------(al_dar5)------ Darc doesn't get far between chapters, only to The Beach. However, that is where his friends rejoin him. With your party reformed, the next step is to attack Dilzweld. The only way to do that though, is through The Kanara Desert in Halshinne. So return to your Pryon, and head to Rangoth. In the Chaos Forest, you will find Ancient Tablet 7. With it in hand, return to the Pyron, and head to Halshinne. When you arrive, stop by Barbadoth. ----Barbadoth---- About the only usful thing here is the shop. Upgrade your equipment, and speak to the residents to learn that you need the Sayru Flute to pass through the desert. When you are ready, save and head to The Pyrimid. ----The Pyrimid---- This is my favorite dungeon. In the first room, you will fing Ancient Tablet 6, which should be the last one you need. When you have it, head to the back and take the exit on the left. Loop around on the outside, and re-enter the Pyrimid. Inside is a switch, that grants you access to the next section. Return to the first room, and take the top-right exit. Follow the path to the next switch, then take the nearby exit back outside. Outside you will find another switch, and a chest. Return to the first room again, and take the lower right exit. Here, you will find three chests. Loop back around to this same room, and climb the newly available stairs. At the top is exit that leads to one of the two switches you need to press to unlock the door in the first room, and another chest. Continue down the path, to the second switch. Press it, and jump down the gaping hole below it. Back in the first room, go through the now open door. Downstairs, you fill find the Saryu Flutes. Grabbing them will cause several mummies to attack. The mummies are similar to the Coleopt, but stronger. The mummies curse will lower your stats, and cause damage at the same time. Use Coleopt Froth to cure this, which you hopefully still have. After all those chests, you should have a huge spirit stone build-up, so go all out in this fight. If you don't, and run out of Coleopt Froth, this can prove to be a difficult fight. After the fight, return to Barbadoth to re-supply, heal, and save. Also, if you have all seven Ancient Tablets, speak to Kirjath and receive your prize. When you are prepared, head to The Kanara Desert, Entrance. ----The Kanara Desert, Entrance---- This place can be confusing, but you can actually get through it without fighting. First, take the first right you can. Then, hop in the top-right sandstorm. Take a left, and hop in the top-left sandstorm. After that, you are home free. Your next stop is the Maluise Tower. ----Maluise Tower---- Follow Droguza to the back of the tower, and you will fight him. He says that he has evolved again, and it's true. His help is stronger this time too. But, still take the humans out first, unless you want to control them. If Droguza attacks one of your characters, they will probably need healing. Keep Camellia on reserve as a healer, and only attack when you don't need healing. You should still have a good sprit stone reserve built up from The Pyrimid, so use your strongest attacks. After the fight, Droguza will make his escape, so follow him. Gazlua Wasteland is a random battle, so finish it quickly and enter The Flying Fortress Megist. ----The Flying Fortress Megist---- When you arrive, you will be greeted by more powered-up Dilzweld. If you have it to use, a Pyron attack will severaly weaken most of the enemy. Finish the remaining troops quickly, and enter the Megist. Once inside, you can go straight if you missed the chests from the first time, or to save (which would be a good idea). Otherwise, use the door at the top. Down the cooridor a little way, you will be faced by more troops, like the ones at the entrance. There are fewer this time, so finish them off and continue down the hall. At the end, go up the stairs to fight yet again. This fight is just like the last two. Afterwards, press the glowing switch to reactivate the elevator. Return to the elevator, and you will have to face a new kind of Deimos. The new Deimos can do a good bit of damage, but can't take any more than a human. After the enemy is defeated, use the elevator. At the top are three doors, and a save point. Take the left door (the only one you can), to fight some more strange Deimos. Beat them, and press the switch to give you access to the other two doors. Return to the center room, and take the right exit. Inside, you will see how these new Deimos are created. Beat them, and Camellia will hop in the machine. Flip the switch, and she will be returned to her previous self. Before you leave though, grab the Key Card off the table. Return to the center room, save, use the Key Card on the center door, and go through it. Inside, you will have to stop Droguza from becoming the Ultimate Deimos. To do so, you have to destroy the towers feeding him energy. There are a few weak enemies, and five towers. Don't waste any unnessicary strength here. Finish the towers off, and Droguza will be released. Droguza didn't become the Ultimate Deimos, but got darn close. He is STRONG. First off, it's good if Delma and Camellia can both use Healing Rain. Also, even though he can attack a group, keep your characters close together for healing. Get in close, and pound away with your strongest attack. Keep your health up, and try not to lose anyone. His normal attacks will hit everyone near him, which sounds worse than it is. If everyone is close, one hit only needs one heal. Also, everyones tension will raise, meaning lots of dual attacks. Dual attacks are actually the only thing that got me through this fight. With a little luck, and some close calls, this battle should be yours. If not, you saved in the previous room (right?). After the fight, watch the end of the chapter, and as always, save. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------Section 4: Dictionary and Tablet Locations----------------(al_dict)------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll finish this once I get the last ones. Until then, don't e-mail me with locations, please. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------Section 5: Credits----------------------------------------(al_cred)------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Really more of a thank you section. But I would like to thank the following people. * CJayC I don't always like him, but there is no dought that he runs the best site on the net for gaming info and help. And, to be fair, I know that he has to put up with a lot, and he only does what he has to for the good of his site. * You For reading my guide. I know, a lot of people put this in. But, it's true.
