As you know, there are two modes of play for Dino Crisis, easy and normal. So for all those players playing normal mode, I'm proud to say that this FAQ is also for you guys. Also, there are a few differences between playing the normal mode and easy mode. Firstly, you'll need more bullets to kill a dino in normal mode than in easy mode. Secondly, it's harder to find the codes and passwords for normal mode than in easy mode. Also, I don't understand a word of Japanese so I won't know that names of the rooms. So I would really appreciate it if someone could help me on that. Anyway, let's get on with the walkthrough. --------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRO --------------------------------------------------------------------- You are Regina, part of a team of four required to go to an island to find Dr Kirk, a scientist who was supposed to have died three years ago but is now spotted and is working on a project which is almost complete for some company. You must now go and find Dr Kirk and get whatever information you can from him. --------------------------------------------------------------------- WALKTHROUGH --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, before you start the game, might as well get to know the characters: Gail The leader of the group of 4 leading the operation: Dr Kirk. Cooper One of the members of the group. Is suppposed to be carrying the radio to contact the helicopter to bring them out of the place. He goes missing right at the beginning of the game. He has actually been eaten by a T-Rex although the others don't know it. Rick A black guy. Pretty cool and thinks of Gail as a heartless person who is capable of killing anything or anyone. The brains of the mission whose job is to get to the control room and get the systems running. Regina The only girl in the group who has the same feelings about Gail like Rick. The main character in the game. You control her. Ok you start off the game and you're looking at a computer screen. You learn about your mission etc and are off. You'll now see a FMV. You'll have some scenes with Gail and Rick as you find Cooper missing and are wanting to wait for him to arrive at the rendezvous although the time has exceeded. Gail doesn't give a damn about him and orders you to follow him. Maybe that's why Rick and Regina don't like Gail. You'll now be at the first checkpoint. Gail will brief you and Rick on the mission. After that, you'll have to enter the gate on the lower right. As soon as you're through the gate, you'll talk to Rick. He'll tell you that he is going to infiltrate the base and get to the control room to get things going. He leaves, but don't worry, you'll see him again later. Go over to where Gail is and he'll say something. After that, walk around. Also, enter the door near Gail. Inside, you'll find a health kit I think, and also, a key. There are no dinos here, so there's nothing to be afraid of. Exit the room and go to the gate. Rick will contact you as soon as you are near the gate. He'll tell you that there's no power and that he wants you to go and find a generator to switch on the power. Gail eavesdrops and gets to hear the last part of your conversation. He goes over and talks to you. After that, he'll exit from the gate. Do the same and go through the gate at the top right. Follow the path and you'll meet Gail examining the upper part of the body of a guard. You'll have a chat with Gail and he'll tell you to go and go into the generator room to activate. Remember to examine the dead guy. You'll be able to get an item. Once inside, make your way to the end of the room. Don't worry, no dinos here either. At the end of the room, there's the first and very puzzle. The objective is to turn on the power, but you can't without the right combination. You have to get the circuits to get into the correct order just like the pattern on the right side of the wall. Examine the thing, and you'll see the circuits up close. As you can see, there are four differently coloured circuits. If you had looked at the wall on the right and have memorized the pattern, you'll notice that the cyan coloured circuit is in the wrong place. The correct combination is: red, blue, green, cyan. After gettting them into the right order, go to the right wall where the pattern is, activate the switches to get the power going. Leave the room. On your way out, you'll hear gunshots and some growling and screaming. You'll say something to yourself. After that, exit the room and you'll notice that Gail is gone! You see traces of blood on the floor. You'll also notice that there is a hole in the fence, just like the one at the other area where Gail was examining. This doesn't seem to be good. Follow the traces of blood and soon, you'll hear some grunting. There'll be a scene to show that there's a dino waiting to ambush you! The dino will appear from the top of some crates and will begin to attack you if you don't do something quick! Equip your shotgun(easy)/gun(normal) and shoot it! It should die after you shoot it once with a shotgun(easy) or about seventeen times with a handgun(normal). Go back to the check point and through the gate on the lower right. Enter it and Rcik will contact you to tell you that the power has been restored. You tell him that Gale is missing and how he and you were attacked by a dinosaur. Rick takes it as a joke and doesn't believe you. He tells you to go to the control room and you'll talk there. So go through the door that Rick went through just now. You'll be in some walkway. Just follow the path and suddenly you'll hear some grunts. It's coming from some dino! Don't worry, it's not here. When you reach the part where there is some kind of lazer forcefield. You can't deactivate it until Rick does something about it so go through the vent shaft. Once inside, follow the path until you reach the first opening. Go down and you'll be at another part of the building. Go down the corridoor ignoring the door near the vent that you came out from. Go into the door at the other side. You'll meet Rick here and will have a conversation. After the conversation, leave the room and go to the door near the vent you came out from. You'll be in some office. You notice the blood stains on the floor. Go to the end of the room and activate the switch next to the door. It will turn on the computer. Next, go through the door near the computer and you'll find a dead body! There's a safe here as well as some items. If you are lazy to find the password for the safe, it is '0375'. Inside is a key and some bullets I think. Search near the dead guy's body and you'll find the 'LEO' key card. It's important as you'll need it later. You can also collect the shotgun from the briefcase near the door you entered from. Get out and collect the item from the table on the side. It is some kind of key card. Leave the room through the other door and you'll be asked whether you want to save. Save your game and exit. You'll be outside and Rick will contact you to tell you that the lazer forcefield in the area is operational. After that, you'll hear some noises ade by a dinosaur. Be careful! There is a dino here. You might want to turn of that lazer forcefield and get to the other side and turn it on from there. Once out of the dinosaur's reach, you have two options. One, kill it, which I did. Two, don't bother and kill it later. Killing it will make sure that the dino won't be there anymore and the coast will be clear. If you don't you will probably have to kill it later. Kill it and you'll be able to access the locker room where you can find some valuable stuff like a DDK card which will be needed to continue the game later. Ok, once you've killed the dinosaur, proceed to the locker room, read the book on the table, collect the DDK card and some chemicals that can be mixed to get a tranqilizer chemical. Head back out and through the door at the other corner of the walkway. You'll be in some huge room. Collect the stuff from the first level. There should be a health kit and some tranqilizer. Nothing much you can do now on the first floor. There's only one door you can access right now. That door will lead you to the lazer forcefield near the entrance of the building. Don't bother to go there as Rick hasn't activated the switch for that area. Anyway, head up to the second level. You'll see a crate on the floor. Push it away to reveal a chemical that can be mixed to get a tranqilizer chemical. Go through the door and you'll be right in the path of a sleeping dinosaur! It wakes up and begins to attack you! You might want to tranquilize it first, so that you can go and get the shotgun ammo at the side of the room. Equip the shotgun ammo and kill the bugger. After that, go to the room nearest to the door you can in from to find yet, another dinosaur. Kill it, once again. Read the note on the bar table about mixing stuff. You can also get the parts to upgrade your handgun from the safe located at the wall. Just press O once next to it and it will ask you to input a password. The password is '7687'. Get the handgun parts from the safe and upgrade your weapon immediately. After that, go to the door that requires a password. Input the password as 'HEAD'. The door will now be able to be opened. Once inside, you find a injured doctor. he will have a conversation with you and will give you the 'SOL' key card. Remember the 'LEO' key card? This is the second card that you will need to be able to access to the outside of the building through the door on the first floor which could not be opened just now. Sadly, the doctor is injured bably and passes away. Collect the shotgun bullets from the corner of the room. Also remember to collect the DDK card from the tavle behind the desk. Try to leave the room and you'll encounter the T-Rex! He eats up the dead doctor and is back for you! use your shotgun and fire at it! Don't miss or you'll probably get eaten up. As soon as the T-Rex howls at you, shoot at his mouth and he should howl one more time before leaving. That's all for now folks --------------------------------------------------------------------- TIPS --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you see an item moving, it's probably something you can take. Don't bother to kill a dinosaur if you only have a hand gun. It's better off to run than to be killed. You'll need about seventeen bullets to kill one dino. Might as well get a shotgun and kill it in one or two shots. Always remember to check the bodies of dead people as there might be some hidden items on them. Moveable objects that are just placed any where might be hiding items inside of them. Push them away and collect the goodies. If you see books or notes on tables or floors, read them as they might contain valuble information on passwords and such. You don't have to understand jap to complete the game. All you need is a sharp eye to look out for things and clues etc. Listen very carefully to what your team members have to say. They might say something very important. It's better to kill your new found dino friends than to let them roam around and you'll have to kill them later. It's better to be safe than sorry. It's good to try and mix your health kits and chemicals and whatever you have together. It's worth it. You never know how powerful a medicine you can make of how strong a tranqilizer you can make. --------------------------------------------------------------------- CREDITS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To gamefaqs.com for posting my FAQ and also because it's a great website.
