Game Introduction ===================== Gamers everywhere rejoice as Mario the most popular character in video game history-returns in Paper Mario, a brand new adventure for your n64. Read on for exclusive information... Super Mario RPG was the last Mario game for Super Nintendo. Then came Super Mario 64, the break through launch title for the Nintendo 64, and it`s continued popularity years later attests to both a superior game design and Mario`simpressive staying power. Paper Mario expands apon the history by wrapping familiar characters and plots into a whimsical world of truly stunning beauty. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of Paper Mario is that it`s a role-playing game-but one unlike any you have ever encountered. In true RPG fashion, Mario will gain experience points, advance in levels, talk to hundreds of characters and townspeople and make his way across an enormous landscape-yet by hitting bricks with his head, jumping on enemies and leaping into large, green pipes, the game remains true to it`s action roots. 3. A:No, all he does the whole game is watch the house. Q:Is this game for three year olds or is it a hardcore RPG? A:I`d say that Paper Mario is pretty much a challenge for all ages. Q:Could I use something in this FAQ? A:Probably yes, you just need my permission. Q:How do I get that? A:E-mail me at boysrus@videotron.ca Q:Is there any way to defeat Bowser at the beginning of the game? A:No there isn't, except maybe with Gameshark. Q:How do you get the silver credit and how do you get to the secret gameroom? A:Do three favors for the old man(Koopa Koot) in Koopa Villiage and he will give you a silver credit. In toad town there is a skinny tree, break it with your hammer, give them the silver credit and you will have access to the hidden game room. Q:Are there any other credits? I don't have access to all games? A:Yes there are more, just do some extra favors for the old man and you can get different credits for different games in the gameroom. Q:What's the fastest way to find Chuck Quizmo? A:Go into the sewars. Go back and forth between the towns via the warp pipes. I got quizmo to appear about 10 times in 15-20 min's this way. I think that is the fastest way to play the quiz game over and over. Q:Is it true that you can read Luigi's diary, if yes how do you read Luigi`s diary? A:Yes you can read his diary. You have to have the Second boots (forget what they're called) and you stomp in the part of the floor, in Mario's bedroom, that sticks up. Luigi has built a secret basement! WHAT A CARPENTER! Q:I heard you can turn into the original Mario by jumping into it, but I can't find it. Where is the vase? A:It is in one of the rooms and it is very large (there should be a crate or something next to it so you can jump in.) It doesn't look very much like a vase if you ask me! Right when you go in, it's in the first door you see. All the way to the left! Q:I am stuck. I can't get to Shiver City. The blue door in Toad Town Tunnel says its securely locked from the other side. I also just beat Chapter 6. What do I do to get to Shiver City? A:This will be in my Walkthrough once I get to that part of the game. To get to Shiver City, enter Toad Town's private pipe located in front of Tayce T's(the receipe person) house. Break through the boards in the floor, then ride Sushie across the water. In the next room, hitch a ride on Lakilester's cloud to cross the spikes and reach the pipe leading to the Ultra Boots. Once you have the jump-boosting footwear, backtrack to the spiked path, then exit right. In the next room, Watt can help you see the blocks leading to the blue door and the Shiver City warp pipe. Q:Is there any easy way to defeat Goomba King? A:Yes, there is. During the battle, hit the tree next to him with your hammer. A nut will fall and hit him 6HP. You will then only have to hit him another 4HP to beat him. Q:How to get through the frosty blue door from the toad town tunnels, I have tried for awhile and cant get through!? A:You can't go through before you beat chapter 6. Q:Where's the Bub-ulb seed in Forever Forest? A:Follow the right diection and go off the track(upwards). Q:Where is Lakilester located? A:In the flower fields, after you meet the sun, you'll see Lakilester. Q:Why can't I do the "read the Toad Town News" task for Koopa Koot? A:Because you have to look at the front and back of the Toad Town news. Q:How do you get the Jade Raven? A:To get the Jade Raven, save all the Yoshis, then you'll find the leader of Yoshi's Island(the fat green Yoshi in the middle of the island) and he'll give it to you. Q:In the room where you have to blow up the wall after you blow it up what is that shooting star thing and how do I get it? A:Use watt and his light ability and you'll see a hidden block... Q:In flower fields, how do you get past the ! platforms that raise and lower when you stomp them? A:Get Lakilester, then hit green, purple, red, green, green, purple in that order. Q:How do you get to Huff 'n Puff? A:Solve the platform puzzle then kill the cloud machine. Q:Where and how do you get the slow go badge? A:The slow go badge is in Dry Dry Ruins where you get the super hammer. walk on the beam to the left and you'll find it. Q:Is there a use for the well in flower fields? A:You get the flower saver badge if you put a Blue Berry in it. Put in nothing else or you fight an enemy. Q:How do you get the Blue Berry? A:In the Flower Fields. Q:Anyone know where the happy flower is in flower fields? A:Hit the three trees in reverse order of what Tolielip tells you - in other words, instead of left, right, middle, you should hit middle, right, left. Q:I'm about to finish all the recipes, but could someone please tell me where I can find: Dried Fruit, Dried Pasta and Melon? A:Dried Fruit - Randomly found from defeated Pokeys in Dry Dry Desert. Dried Pasta - On sale in Dry Dry Outpost Shop. Melon - On, Lavalava Island, bring the Green Yoshi in front of the Shop an item cooked from two items. Q:I'm stuck, I need the keys in Crystal Castle, well, something.I stuck with these 2 Rhino (what were they called in SMW,bosses of fortresses, forgot names) Statues.Help, what do I do? A:The black rhynos are a reflection of the white. You gotta make the white face certain ways so the black statues can face the switch. You can push black statues only the way they're facing. And to make a white rhyno turn the way you want, talk to them from that way. Q:A guy in Dry Dry Outpost said there are a triangle of trees and if you jump in teh middle you will get something. I can find the trees but where do I jump? A:You answered your own question! The second A is you read the flyers on the first building on the second screen. You have to take a tornado, then take another(I think) in the place with blue cacti and you'll land on the plateau. Q:In Dry Dry Desert there is a high rock plateau that I can't get to with a badge on it. How do I get up there? A:You get the badge by getting sent on top of the plateau, courtesy of a tornado. I'm not sure which one, though. I think you're supposed to follow a set of directions that I think is posted below Moustafa's house or something. They give directions and then say to give way to the tornado. Sorry if this is vague, but all you have to do is find the directions that mention the tornado. Q:Hmm, how is it that I've managed to beat bowser and get a fair ammount of star points without actually rescuing the librarian's dictionary from the shy guys? Where in the world is it, and how do I get there? A:It is in one of the chests at the end of a section. I think you had to get it to move on in the game unless you used a guide to see which order to hit the four blocks in...which means it is in the section before the one with the four blocks. Q:I'm at the crystal palice, and i'm stuck, where u get the blue and red switch? A:You step on the switch so the 2nd floor comes down then you go through the door & blow up the wall at the end of the hall. Then in the next room go into the mirror side by going in betweeen middle collums. Blow up the wall in the mirror side then fight a one of those transforming things that was acting like your reflection. Keep going till you reach a door on the wall then enter it & stomp the wooden ground, go back to the regular side room & the red X will be destroy so go in the hole then go down the hall & get the Red Key. Then go back to the switch & make the first floor get back on level then open the door. The most important thing to remember in Crystal Palace is that if you do something on one side of the mirror/glass, it will affect something that's in the same place on the other side. Q:Now what do I do? After that you will enter a small room in which you can enter the mirror. Open the door on the regular side & go down the hall then defeat the enemies & the statues on the mirror side will be destroyed. Go back to the small room then go to the mirror side door & go down the now empty hall. You will reach a room with a rotating thing & a switch so make Bombette explode next to the switch while your on the rotating thing. Open the door then go down the hall & launch Kooper through the small hole. I won't ruin the surprise but in the end the wall is destroyed so go in. You will be in a small room with two doors. Open the door then you will see your reflection in the mirror side make your reflection hit the switch so that it makes a bridge for you. Go to the next room which is a small room with locked doors then go to the mirror side & go down the hall to the room with the two doors. Enter the door then push the statue now the big statue in the regular room will be pushed. Go back to the regular room then go in the hole & go down the hall to get the Key. use it to open the door in the room where you can switched sides & had locked doors. In the next room get the creatures to face you so that you can push the statue onto the slots (they can only be pushed in the direction they are facing). When your done go up the new stairs & enter the door. Hit the Recover Box & Save Box then go off to fight the Crystal King. Q:Whats the maximum badge, flower and heart points you can get? A:Max HP: 55 Max FP: ? Max BP: 30 Q:I just finished the lavalava island what do I do next do I need to get my third pair of jump shoes first and I know about the secret magic garden!? A:You need to get all 4 magical seeds then go to the flower fields. After you beat it you get the ultra boots in toad town tunnels. Q:How do you get the Bump attack badge? I cant find the shady man in the sewers. A:Go down the pipe in the room with the Blue door that leads to Shiver city, then bomb the wall (even though there are no cracks). Q:Marlee- What's with her? Do you get anything special for paying her 50 coins to put a spell on you? What's the deal? A:Merlee's spell does really cools things every so often. For example, during a battle, it might increase an attack's power by 4, or double the star points or coins you earn from a battle. It might increase your defense power for one turn by 4. It's really worth the money. It wears off after a long time. Q:I am at the portion of the castle that if you go through the door it brings you back to the exact same room. If anyone could help me get past it it would be great. A:I think you go Up, Down, Down, Up, Down, Up. It's the same pattern as the lights in the background of the main room. Q:Is it true that you can play as Goompa? A:yes, but with Game Shark though, simply do the get all character code then when your in battle choose ''switch partner'' & he will be a chose, but there will be nothing in the text box & his picture is Kooper's. When you have him you pretty much lose your partner since he can't attack. You can't pick ''switch partner'' anymore & if you try to change him outside the game will freeze (it will show a glitched up Nintendo logo). The only way to switch him is to get a new partner or sometimes the game will switch the character you have for another so that the character can say what it needs to say (not all the time Bombette said ''the name's Goombario''). Q:I was almost done and my brother turned it offi got the key from the water part by pulling the chain's where does the key go? A:That would be the door at the end of the second room. You'll have to drain the room, just as you filled it. Q:I can't get through the dark room help!? A:Go back to the station, and this time go to the left. Go through that room until you get to a door. Go through it, and it'll be dark too. There's a mini-boss you have to fight. Beat him by jumping on the light until it gives off enought so that you can see him. Then when you can, defeat him. You will then get Watt. That's all you need to know. Q:does anyone know what happens when you say no to someone who wants to come on the adventure with you? A:They keep asking you until you say yes. If you choose not to forgive Lakilester, his girlfriend will throw a spiny egg at you. Q:In Dry Dry Ruins, what do you do with the stones? A:Put them in the chop statues. To find the order go to the door to the left and you'll see more statues with stones in it. Then just copy the order. Q:Where is Russ T? I need to deliver a letter to that mushroom. A:He's like in the 1st house when you enter Toad Town from the main gate. He's the smart guy with all the books. Q:I am in bowsers castle and at the part with the big stone blocks you have to meve. I got all the way to an empty room and i dont know where to go or what to do, i have searched all around!? A:Go back to the room with the statues and move one of them. I think there's only one statue that you can push. Q:Is it true you can get better items with the 1 cent Mystery item? A:Yes it is. If you have Tayce T. cook with a Mystery item, you'll get one of these several things: Apple Pie, Big Cookie, Bland Meal, Egg Missile, Fire Flower, Fried Egg, Fried Shroom, Honey Shroom, Kooky Cookie, Koopa Tea, Life Shroom, Potato Salad, Sleepy Sheep, Spagetti, Special Shake, Spicy Soup, Super Soda, Tasty Tonic, Thunder Rage, Volt Shroom. Since you can buy mysteries for 1 coin at Boo's Mansion, this is a cheap way to get some good items. Watch out though, because sometimes you'll get a mistake. Q:How the heck do you get to the Water Stone, in the Hedge Maze, when you're at Flower Field? A:It's not apparent, but there are sections in the hedges you can walk through. You have to get to the pipe that looks like it's surrounded by hedges. You can access it from the right side. Go down the pipe and you can exit the maze to the left. The rest is up to you. Q:Can you save after you beat Bowser? I went through the Ending Party so fast I failed to notice the Save Block next to the Post office. Also, Is there any way to get back to the old Areas without having to trek all the darn way through Bowser's Ship, onto the Space Pod thingy, through the Star Haven, down through Star Peak, and back to the Pipe vault? A:No, and No... Q:Where is this playroom,I have the gold credit!? A:Get to the screen with the Lil Oink farm and right when you get on that screen go left until you see a tree. Now hit it with your hammer to make a pipe show up that leads to.... Q:Does that old Koopa in Koopa Village (I forget his name) ever stop asking for favors? Does he give out anything cooler after you get the gold credit? I feel like I've run around all over doing things for him and just keep getting star pieces and coins. Is it worth my time to continue doing stuff for him? A:He stops it's worth it if you are trying to get all the star pieces. Q:I read that you can get these Whacka Bumps by hitting this Whacka guy. Who is he? Where is he? A:High in the mountain, in Mt. Rugged, you will find a wood block. Smash it, and walk through where it was. You will find a clearing, and out will come whacka, cute little guy. Bonk him with a hammer to get the Whacka's Bump. He looks like a Diglett(Pokemon) but is blue. Q:It said in N.P. that you can upgrade characters to Super and Ultra rank. I've gotten characters to super, how do I get them to Ultra!? A:In Jade Jungle, find Raphael. You'll find out the rest. And I mean big Raphael on top of a huge tree, not in Yoshi village. Q:Where are all the seeds? A:The four seeds are in: 1. Mt. Rugged 2. Forever Forest 3. Toad Town 4. Yoshi Village Q:How do you get the red key in the ice cavern thing? A:To get the Red Key, after you get the blue key go all the way through to the last room in the blue door rooms. Then go through the mirror in the middle and then go out the door that way then go through the first door you see. Pound the floor and go all the way back to the other side and fall through the hole. Walk left and you have the key! 5. The Good Guys ================ Paper Mario is filled to the brim with familiar faces, places and items all presented in a fresh new light. As you guide the plucky plumber on his journey, you`ll encounter such mainstays as Boos, Bomb-ombs, Koopas, and Goombas. Most of them are enemies, but sometimes one will break ranks and fight by Mario`s side. Mario: The people's hero and princess peach's personal gallant knight, Mario is about to face his toughest challenge yet. He'll have to learn new skills and attacks along the way. Goombario: Unlike his Super Mario Bros. cousins, who spent most of their time under the business end of Mario`s foot, Goombario the goomba is one of the good guys. You`ll meet his entire family in the early stages of the game. His Attacks ----------- Headbonk: FP:0 Normal Attack:1 or 2 HP Super Attack:2 or 3 HP Ultra Attack:3 or 6 HP Goombario leaps high into the air, flips and pounds his enemies with a strong head-to-head blow, great for fighting other Goombas. Tattle: FP:0 With his extensive knowledge of the Mushroom Kingdom, Goombario can use tattle to tell you about enemies and reveal their heart points. Charge: FP:1 By using Charge, you can raise Goombario's attack power by two points for his next attack, great in combination with Multibonk. Multibonk: Ultra Attack: Unlimited HP If you're a fan of the Power Bounce badge, you'll like Multibonk. With good timing, you can use it to pound your enemy repeatedly. Kooper: Kooper Koopa is an invaluable addition to the quest. His powerful shell attack and high spirits help carry Mario through some tough times. Twink: This guy is a young star who trys to help out as much as possible even though he can`t do much but deliver messages between Mario and Princess. Princess Peach: While the petite princess has held her own in kart racing and tennis tournaments, she usually gets the short end of the stick in other games. Paper Mario is no different, as poor Peach is snatched up by Bowser within the first five minutes. Luigi: All he does in this game(as far as I know) is watch Mario`s house. Bombette: Another addition to the team, Bombette was locked up in a dungeon with other bomb-oms in the Koopa Bros. fortress. After Mario, saves her, she joins his team. Parakarry: A flying koopa who delivers mail. Then joins your team. Need I say more? Bow: A girl ghost who can scare and slap enemies. Watt: You may remember this sun ex-bad guy from Super Mario 3. When you save him in Shy Guy`s Toy Box you will gain this helpful friend. He helps you see in the dark and has a couple of good electric attacks. He could probably kick Pikachu`s ass. LOL :^) Sushie: Shushie is a fish who joins you and has great swimming skills which will help you get through places with water. Lakilester: This guy will let you ride on his clouds over dangerous places. 6. The Bosses(In order of appearance) ===================================== Bowser: First Fight; HP:50 Attack:3-16 Defense:1 Second Fight; HP:99 Attack:3-16 Defense:1 Fans of Bowser will be thrilled, as the big bruiser is back and more powerful than ever. Paper Mario provides a rare glimpse into the inner thoughts of Bowser. You`ll even thumb through his diary! Kammy Koopa: Not all the main characters are familiar. Give a big welcome to Kammy Koopa, witch-of-all-trades and Lord Bowser`s right-hand Koopa. She poses quite a challenge for our hero, and it`s a sure bet that they`ll clash more than once. Koopa Bros./Fake Bowser: Fake Bowser; HP:10 Attack:1 Defense:1 Koopa Bros.; HP:5 Attack:1 Defense:1 Tutankoopa: HP:30 Attack:2-3 Defense:0 Tubba Blubba's Heart: HP:50 Attack:6 Defense:0 Tubba Blubba: HP:10 Attack:4 Defense:0 General Guy: HP:30 Attack:4 Defense:2 Lava Piranha: HP:40 Attack:5->7 Defense:0 Huff N. Anti-Guy: HP:5O Attack:10-12 Defense:0 It's a good thing you don't have to fight this guy too often because of his high Heart Points(HP) and fierce attacks. B. Bill Blaster: HP:10 Attack:-- Defense:4 Shoots Bombshell Bills fast and fiercely. Bandit: HP:5 Attack:2 Defense:0 Deep in the Dry Dry Desert, Bandit awaits for unexpecting travellers, to steal their coins. Big Lantern Ghost: HP:40 Attack:2-5 Defense:0 Its attacks will affect many party members including Mario, so shine a light of good hammer attck on it`s mischievious ways. Bill Blaster: HP:4 Attack:-- Defense:1 Bill Blaster shoots Bullet Bills in a straight direction. They pretty much suck. Blooper: HP:3 Attack:3 Defense:0 The best thing about Blooper is that he yells his name when he's near you so you can get away if you are fast enough. The bad things about him is his high Hit Points, his ability to float and his ability to shoot ink. Baby Blooper: HP:6 Attack:2 Defense:0 This cute little guy is only a shadow of the adult Blooper, and HP and Attack numbers are adjusted accordingly. Blue Goomba: HP:6 Attack:1 Defense:0 Blue goomba is the lesser half of the Notorious Goomba Brothers. Bom-Ombs: HP:3 Attack:1-2 Defense:0 The explosive power of a Bomb-Omb is not to be trifled with. Bombshell Bill: HP:3 Attack:6 Defense:0 A more powerfull version of Bullet Bill, Bombshell Bill's explosive power grows as it's heart points go down. Bony Beetle: HP:8 Attack:3-5 Defense:4 Bony beetle is a Buzzy Beetle with retractable spikes. Bullet Bill: HP:2 Attack:2 Defense:0 Bullet Bill is a true Kamikaze. Once it attacks Mario it'll vanish, taking precious HP in the process. Buzzar: HP:40 Attack:1-4 Defense:0 Buzzar can be a truly intimitating sight. A tip from me, be prepared at the Dry Dry Ruins to fight him. Buzzy Beetle: HP:3 Attack:2-3 Defense:2 You can find this beetle with a shell in dark places. Bzzap!: HP:3 Attack:1-6 Defense:0 This guy is very fast so be carefull. Chan: HP:15 Attack:2 Defense:2 Chan has been training at Dojos, but he is not very good in fighting. Chomp: HP:4 Attack:3 Defense:3 Cleft: HP:2 Attack:2 Defense:2 Man, do I hate these guys. You can only hit them with hammer. Thank god, they only appear in one part of the game, but then stronger versions of them with a diffrent name appear later in the game. Boo-hoo. Clubba: HP:8 Attack:3 Defense:0 These guys are slow and always sleeping because they are over-weight. But don't under-estimate them. If they catch you, they can be very painfull. Crazee Daizee: HP:8 Attack:4 Defense:0 Dark Koopa: HP:8 Attack:3 Defense:2 He is found at the end of the Toad Town Tunnel. He is very easy to beat, if you are past Tubba Blubba. Dry Bones: HP:8 Attack:4 Defense:2 Nothing much to say here. Dry and boney. Duplighost: HP:15 Attack:4 Defense:0 This guy can change into anything he wants, other ennemies, party members or even you, Mario. Electro Blooper: HP:50 Attack:4-6 Defense:0 Pretty hard, especially when he uses his attack which makes you unable to hurt him for the next couple of turns. If you try to hurt him, you will get hurt. Ember: HP:10 Attack:3-4 Defense:0 Forest Fuzzies: HP:6 Attack:1 Defense:0 These guys are pretty annoying, especially when there are lots of them. They each suck one HP of yours. Frost Piranha: HP:10 Attack:4 Defense:0 It's a ice type piranha, need I say more? Fuzzipede: HP:20 Attack:3 Defense:0 Fuzzy: HP:3 Attack:1 Defense:0 Same here as Forest Fuzzy, just less HP. Gloomba: HP:7 Attack:2 Defense:0 A cousin of Goombas, it's only difference is stronger stats. Goomba: HP:2 Attack:1 Defense:0 The most common bad guys in the Bowser gang tied with Koopas, these are probably the weakest and easiest villians to beat in this game. Goomba King: HP:10 Attack:1-2 Defense:0 The first "Boss" you fight in the game. He is very easy if you hit the tree with your hammer, a nut with fall and hit him 6HP. Gray Magikoopa: HP:11 Attack:3 Defense:0 Take this guy out fast to avoid a prolonged battle. Grn Magikoopa: HP:11 Attack:3 Defense:0 Found both in the sky and ground. Luigi's Diary ================= Luigi's Diary Page One: Once again, my brother went on an exciting journey. Once again, he went alone. It's so unfair! I remember the carefree days when we played Golf and Tennis and had Parties. I remodeled the house and made a secret basement. My brother has no idea! It's the perfect place to write in you, my secret diary. Page Two: I heard a ghost appeared in Toad Town today. It was big, really big. And it had red eyes, a giant, gaping mouth and a mustache. ......... Because you're my secret diary, I'll tell you the truth: Yaaaah! I hate ghosts!! What will I do if it appears at night! Come back, Mario! I'm scared! Yikes! I can feel something behind me. Ahhh! I'm sure it's there, but I can't look back! No! No! Get away! I think I'll be safe if I don't freeze with fear. I'll just shut my eyes and take five steps back, and then I'll jump and dash into bed. Here I go! Page Three: A Shy Guy appeared at my house the other day. I found it asleep in my bed! Can you believe it? I ran after him but he was way too fast for me. I heard that a lot of Shy Guys also appeared in Toad Town. Supposedly, they came from Shy Guy's Toy Box. It must be somewhere in town, A Toy Box... I wouldn't mind seeing that. Maybe they have a Nintendo 64! Page Four: The whole Goomba family visited me today. They said that Goombario is in the care of my brother, then they gave me a souvenir! It was a Goomnut, a special treat from Goomba Village. It looked so yummy I ate it without telling my brother! My FP increased by 3. .........You think he'll notice? Page Five: I heard that my brother went to Lavalava Island on a tuna. Unbelievable! So unfair! I... I... I wanna ride on a tuna, too! Page Six: I heard that some Yoshi kids on Lavalava Island got lost and my brother saved them. I bet Yoshi kids are just about the cutest things around. I'm a bit jealous of my brother. Page Seven: I heard a rumor that I actually have lots of fans. Wow! What great news! To live up to their expectations, I want to play the lead in an adventure! Of course, my name would have to be in the title. That'd be sweet...<3 (That's a heart) But I know it'll never happen... Page Eight: I heard that a door appeared in Toad Town. They say it leads to Flower Fields. I guess lots of Flower Spirits live in that flowery place. Flower Spirits...I bet their souls are as beautiful as the prettiest flowers... Page Nine: Somebody said to me that a way will open when you use a scarf and bucket... What? A scarf for a snowman? Wouldn't it melt him? Page Ten: Yesterday, I got stuck in my trapdoor when I was entering my secret room... Have I been using it too much? Or am I putting on weight? I'd better oil it to make it open easier. Page Eleven: When I looked up at the sky tonight, I saw a shooting star arcing across the sky toward Princess Peach's Castle. I made a wish to the Stars right away, but I wonder if it will really be granted... What I wished was .......................................... ............................ I can't even write it even though this is a secret diary. Aargh! You can see it even though I erased it! (Blurred) My wish is to sleep in the top bunk bed. Page Twelve: I heard that my brother finally saved Princess Peach! Bowser increased his power with the Star Rod, but my brilliant brother beat him anyway! I guess he'll be coming back home pretty soon. I'm looking forward to listening to the story of his adventure. Anyway, I'm going to finish this diary for now. I have to seal this room off before he notices that I remodeled without telling him. Now I'm going to go prepare a dinner to celebrate Mario's return! Luigi! 21. Walkthrough =============== The Prologue: ------------- The game leads off as Mario and Luigi receive invitations to attend a party at Princess Peach`s lovely castle. During the festivities, the fun is interrupted when Bowser, larger and surlier than ever, suddenly appears. It seems that the Big B has stolen the Star Rod, a supremely powerful device that grants the owners wishes. Bowser uses it to defeat Mario in combat, steal Peach`s casle and cast Mario down to the Mushroom Kingdom where the woozy plumber meets a Goomba with a frightening tale. It seems that Bowser received the star Haven and imprisoning the seven Star Spirits who live there. The spirits are gravely concerned, for if Bowser continues to use Star Rod for ill, something terrible will happen. Never one to leave a land in distress, Mario agrees to take up the challenge to find and release the seven Star Spirits, rescue the princess and defeat Bowser once and for all. And so our story begins... Get the hammer, then break the yellow block blocking the way. Follow the path, and then you will be at Toad Town. Stock up, as you will be fighting lots of enemies soon. Go through the main gate, to the shooting star summit. The star spirits will tell you the story with Bowser taking the star rod, blah blah blah. Chapter 1: ---------- Then go back to Toad Town, and knock on the door of the house in front of the sign twice. Merlon will come out and tell you what to do next which is to go east to Koopa Village. Some wierd looking toads block the way and tell you not to say anything to Merlon. Go to Merlon and tell him what`s happening then he will make them show their real form, they are the Koopa Bros, sort of like ninja turtles but they are koopas. They then run away. Go down the trail. You will end up not being able to get past a place with water. Hit the nearby tree with your hammer(press B) and then a switch will appear. Press the switch and a bridge will appear, keep following the trail. You will then end up in Kooper villiage, a villiage were nice Koopas live. Fuzzies are stealing the Koopas shells. Save all the Koopas shells by jumping on the fuzzies. Then go to the house thats shaking. A guy named Kooper with tell you there's a fuzzie who stoll his shell who is in his house. Go in the house. The fuzzie will run into the woods in back of Kooper's house. Follow him. He will then jump from tree to tree and then stop. Hit the tree that you see he went into. Once you find him three times, he says, I give up maybe, you take your shell back. After you give Kooper his shell back, his reward is to join you on your quest if you'd like. Say yes, as he is very helpful to your team. The fuzzie and four of his friends then attack you. They are pretty hard but try to beat them. After beating them go back to Koopa Villiage, and follow the path. There will be a gap. Press CDown to use Kooper`s outside of battle attack(throw his shell) and it will hit a switch. A bridge will then appear. You may also go back and hit that star piece up high with Kooper`s shell throwing attack. Also shortly after you get Kooper you can use his shell to get an HP Plus badge on an out-of-reach stump. Keep on going and you will arrive at the Koopa Bros. Fortress. When you go inside, fight a Koopa and a Bomb-omb to get the first key. Keep going, there will be a locked door. Beat the enemies near it and a switch will appear. Hit the switch and stairs will drop. When you get to the middle of the dungeon, the exit rises out of reach. Beat alll enemies who are near to make them drop. Keep going, there will be two moving flames(remember Super Mario Bros.?) jump over them. You will hear one of the Koopa Bros. talking. Go and hit that block he is standing under. You will fall underground into a dungeon with bomb-ombs. Speak to the pink Bomb-omb, named Bombette. She will make a deal with you that you set her and her friends free and she will join your team. Break through the cracked wall in the corner by pressing CDown and using Bombette's special move, Explosion. As you move on, you will arrive at a dead end. Use Kooper to hit the switchs which make bridges appear. After that keep on rollin`. Bullet Bills launch from the Koopa Bros.'s Bullet Blasters. Jump to avoid them or hit them with first strike. Then defeat the Bullet Blasters. Go down, energize and save. Now go back up, and fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss #1: Koopa Brothers ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Koopa Bros. are inside a Bowser robot. Hit them lots of times and the machine breaks. Then it's you against them, just plain fighting. Tip:When they get on top of each other, do a double body slam(by holding A and then letting go when the star goes red) or a double hammer(press left on the control pad, then let go when the star becomes red) and they will land on their backs. It will then be easier to defeat them. You saved the first star spirit. He gives you some star spirit power and moves, the journey then continues... You`ll meet a flying Koopa, named Parakarry who delivers mail and lost three letters here at Mt. Rugged. Go look for his letters and if you find all three, he'll join your team. Mt. Rugged's rocky terrain does feature a few smooth slides which let you fly over gaps. The first letter rests on the far side of a gap between two plateaus. Use Kooper to retrieve the letter. The next letter is near the peak of Mt. Rugged. You'll bounce to the top on a spring and you'll see a letter there. There is an edge at the easternmost edge of Mt. Rugged, fall to find the last of Parakarry's letters. There will be a giant vulture, who asks you if you are Mario. You have three choices, you can either say you're Mario, Luigi or Princess. If you say Mario you'll have to battle him. If you say Luigi, he says, oh your just his little brother, run along. If you say Princess, he says you think i'm that stupid, your Mario! Tip: Try to finish him as fast as possible. He is pretty easy. Keep going. Just keep following the yellow path. When the path ends, you will be at the Dry Dry Outpost. Go to the store and buy a Dried Shroom and then a Dusty Hammer. He will think that you know Mustafa, and tell you where he is. After that, Mustafa's house is left unguarded. Enter the house and walk to the right. You'll exit through the side of the building, giving you access to a pile of crates. Hop onto the crates and climb up to the roof, then move to the left and make your way to the second floor of Mustafa's place. He then gives you an item that will help you find the Dry Dry Ruins in the Dry Dry Desert, the pulse stone. The more it flashes, the closer you are. When it flashes alot, you will see a sandy rock witha shape that you can fit the pulse stone into. Stick the pulse stone in, an ancient building will appear from the ground, go in to enter the Dry Dry Ruins. When you enter the first locked room, hit a switch on the floor. Sand will drain from the room into the room below. Return back down to the lower room and walk on the sand to gain access to a doorway which leads to the next room. When you climb the stairs in a tall chamber, you'll see a cracked wall on a ledge that is on the other side of a wide gap. To get past that wall, first, use Parakarry to cross the gap, then you Bombette to blast through the wall. Then drain the sand in the next room. Now go to the lower room to get a key. Go left. There will be three closed coffins. Hit the yellow question mark block to make three Pokey Mummies appear. Defeat them, then use your key to open the locked door. You'll soon encounter a large gap. Use Parakarry to get past it. The super hammer, capable of crushing Grey Blocks(the gigantic ones) is in a big chest on the other side of the wall. Hit three switches in this order, hit the middle one first, then hit the upper-right one, then the left one. Now open the treasure chest to get super hammer. Go down some stairs. You will see a cracked wall. Use Bombette to explode the wall. The three precious stones of Dry Dry Ruins are protected by Stone Chomps. A key rests on a high platform in the corner of a room. The only other object in the room is a grey block. Use super hammer to break the grey block. A switch will appear. Push it to make stairs appear. Go up the stairs and take the key. A Block sits in the path of the Pyramid Stone. Use the super hammer to break it and take the Pyramid Stone. The door will close and you will have to defeat a stone chomp. Do the same thing in a different room to get the Diamond Stone. The last of the three stones is hidden in the eastmostern ruins room. When you have all three stones, put them in the chomp statues in this order: Put the Pyramid Stone(triangular) in the one that's the farthest east, put the Diamond Stone(the diamond one) in the middle statue and put the Lunar Stone(the moon shaped one) at the one farthest west. A path will open to the sand villian's chamber. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss#2: Tutankoopa: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tips:1.Try to finish him off ASAP. 2.Use Parakarry's Shell Shot on Tutankoopa and use Mario's hammer on his Chomps. You are now Princess Peach. You remember that there is a secret passage somewhere in your room but you forget where. Go to the picture next to the fireplace and click on it. A secret passage will now appear inside the fireplace. The castle is abuzz with news of Mario's next challenger, Tubba Blubba. Sneak past the guards in the library to gather information about the "Invincible" beast. Bowser will then realize you escaped, he tells the guards to put you back in your room. Now back to Mario. The gratefull Star Spirit Mamar gives you an extra Star Power and a new star power attack, lullaby. Chapter 3: ---------- Twink tells you that Tubba Blubba is causing trouble in Gusty Glitch, a place where only ghosts live, on the far side of Forever Forest. Skolar, the next star spirit, is somewhere near Tubba Blubba's Castle. Ride the train south to Toad Town. Buy some items, then go east to Forever Forest. If you walk into Forever Forest without a plan, chances are that you will get lost in a hurry with that "Haven't I been here before?!" feeling. Tell get through this forest look for signs by nature. Your first important path choice centers around the hollow tree at every intersection. One of the trees has red, flashing eyes. Take the path nearest to that tree. You can study the flowers by walking close to them and pressing A. Where they have 4 flowers, take that path. For the next path, you will see eyes appear on one of the trees. Go to the path closest to that tree. To get to the next path, click A next to the mushrooms. If the mushrooms light up and have music for about 20 seconds, go to the path closest to them. Now when you check the flowers they will disappear. Keep going until you find the flowers that don't disappear. Go through that path. When you're closing in on Boo's mansion, you'll see a rock that will show it's face when you check it. Take a detour at that intersection, then go to the center of the next area to earn the FP Plus Badge. The last intersection is marked with a sign. Go down the path, then save and re-charge on the heart block. Go through the door to get to Boo's Mansion. One of the portraits on the second floor has lost it's picture. Find the picture, to gain access to the third floor. The Boos have a record that will help you through your journey. It's a record that you can use on the phonograph in the westmostern room of the second floor. The Boos form a circle, find the Boo who has the Record. When you have the record, you can operate the phonograph on the second floor. After you stick it in, keep pressing the A button, then when the Boo comes close, stop playing and go open the treasure box, to get the weight. After you get the weight, you can open the secret passage on the main floor. Jump from the couch to the chandelier, put the weight on it and then go through the secret door. Soon you will find a room full of ghosts. Once you go in the room, you can't go back. Find out which Boo has the Super Boots and then you will be able to go through wood patches on the ground of jumping and then pressing A while you are in the air. Go through the nearest patch. You've seen lots of switches but not any that are as big as the one in the basement shop. Do a double jump by pressing A then pressing it again in the sky, to press the switch down. Go back to the main floor and enter one of the doors. Use your super boots to break through the wood patch on the floor. You'll go to the room where the portrait of Boo is located. When you land in the basement, you'll end up on top of a bookshelf. Use Parakarry to fly to the other bookshelfs, until you see the ghostly painting, grab it. Go back up to the second floor. Put the portrait back in and then you will be transported to the third floor. Bow is the head ghost of the castle. She makes a deal with you, if you defeat Tubba Blubba for her, she will join your team and help you on your journey with her power of invisibility. The path to Gusty Glutch is east of Boo's Mansion. Bow will open the gate. Soon you will see Tubba Blubba, who eats ghosts. Use Bow to become invisible so he does not see you. He finds one of the ghosts and eats them for dinner. The floating guards in the opening areas of Tubba Blubba's castle will pick you up and escort you out of the building when they find you. Use Boo's invisibility so that they don't see you. At the base of the stairway, you'll find a wood patch on the floor. Jump through it to get to the castle dungeon. In the dungeon, you'll find a key and a heart block. As you leave the basement, you'll see an upgrading box. Once you have the castle key, you can open the locked door, on the east side of the main hall. Fight the Clubba that's sleeping against the wall. After beating him, there will be a crack in the wall, use bombette to explode through it. The next room has three tables, a Badge and a jump pad. There are three wood patches on the floor in the room directly above that room. Break through the patch on the left to open a hole over the spring, then break through the patch to the right of that hole. Fall through the new hole to the table on the right. Use Parakarry to fly to the table to the left. Pick up the Badge, then use the spring to return to the second floor. Spikes pop out of the floor in the room that holds the key. Use Boo's invisibility to get past them. Get the key, and get out, fast. Tubba Blubba restlessly walks around the halls. Use Bow's Transparency once again and he will not see you. The key to Tubba Blubba's chamber room is in a room full of Clubbas. If you walk slowly, you can sneak past them. Go into Tubba Blubba's room. Open the treasure chest. Inside the treasure chest is a key named "Yakkey", who can be used to open the wind mill in Gusty Gulch. Before you can escape, Tubba Blubba will wake up. When he wakes up he will bang the ground. The castle is starting to collapse. You'll uncover the heart of Tubba Blubba once you open the windmill with "Yakkey". -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss #3: Tubba Blubba/Heart -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tips:Tubba Blubba's heart employs magic with great force. It uses one battle turn to charge up, then sends out a very powerful attack. When you see it charge up, use Bow's invisibility. After defeating his heart you will find him and he will only have 10 HP, so you can beat him in a blast. He will then start to cry and you will find out that he is a sissy and is scared of ghosts. He then gives back all the ghosts that he has eaten. After your victory over Tubba Blubba, you will now be Princess Peach, again. Kammy Koopa asks you what does Mario hate the most. You must choose three things. Choose wisely, as Mario will have to fight them soon in the game. Choose Mushroom, Super Soda and Thunder Rage if you don't want to fight enemies. If you want a challenge, choose Clubba, Fuzzy, Goomba, Hammer Bros., Koopatrol or Pokey. Now back to Mario. The star spirit, Skolar then gives you Star Storm, which use 2 star energy, and hits 7 HP on all enemies in battle. On your way back to Toad Town, in the Forever Forest, you will find Jr. Troopa, lost in the forest, this time he has wing, attacks 5 and has 40HP. Chapter 4: ---------- Shy Guys have taken over Toad Town. They have stolen lots of stuff from innoccent Toads. They also have a star spirit. You'll find their hideout in a vacant house. Use Bow's invisibility to hide, a Shy Guy will come a make a door through the wall, go through the wall to enter Shy Guy's Toy Box. One small detail keeps you from taking the train to the next station, there is no train! Since Shy Guy's Toy Box is a scaled-up toy world, what you are looking for a toy train. When you find it, you can take it for a ride. Rowf's calculator is among a handfull of items that Shy Guys lifted from Toad Town Citizens. You can face off with a Shy Guy in the Playroom to get the calculator. Bring it to Rowf, to get the I spy badge. By following the Toy Box path east of Blue Station, you'll find the storeroom key in a treasure chest. Take the key to harry 's shop and he will let you take anything you want in the Store-room, including the toy train that you need. After getting the train, drop it into the to box. When you go back into the Shy Guy's Toy Box, the train will be leaving for the pink station, go on it and continue your adventure. East of the pink station, you'll find a dead end and an endless supply of Shy Guys pop out of a rotating panel. Move to the east to draw a Shy Guy out. When the Shy Guy is approaching the panel, wait at the right side of the panel and slip into the passage when the panel rotates. The passage leads to the frying pan. Take it to Tayce T. in Toad Town. She'll bake a cake for you as a reward. Go back to Shy Guy's Toy Box. You will see a gigantic Shy Guy who loves to eat who's name is Gourmet guy. Give him your cake and he'll go flying in the air so you can pass him. After he flies away, you'll find a big lever on a pink stand. Pull the lever to fix the train track. There are three Jack-In-The-Boxes, one blue on yellow, one red and one green. Hit them in this order with your hammer, yellow, green, red, blue, to trigger a track change. The next room you go in will be pitch black. You will now see Big Lantern Guy, who loves the dark. When you fight him, he'll blow out his lantern so that only a dim light burns. You won't be able to target Big Lantern Guy when is is shrouded in darkness. Hit the lantern, to make the room brighter, then have your partner target Big Lantern Guy. After you beat him, you can free Watt from the lantern, he will now join your party. You can use his electricity to light up rooms. When you are close to General Guy, you'll find a wall with a weak spot. Use Bombette to blast it open. A bunch of Shy Guys will appear. Before fighting General guy, you must defeat lots of Stilt Guys and Shy Stacks, so be prepared. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss #4: General Guy -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip:Target the tank's light bulb first, then go after the General Guy. You are now Princess Peach, once again. In the dining hall, you'll find Gourmet Guy. He will give you information about Bowser's plans if you make him something to eat. He's give you a key to go into the kitchen. When you bake and bring back a straberry cake, Gourmet Guy will tell you about Lavalava Island. But then he loved the cake so much that he starts to bang, and Kammy Koopa hears and tells the guards to send you back to your room. Back to Mario. The star spirit, Muskular then gives you the move chill out, which uses 2 Star Energies and lets you lower the attack of enemies for several turns. Chapter 5: ---------- As you explore Toad Town, you'll find your old pal Kolorado, theexplorer (remember, the guy who you gave the artifact to?) pondering a whale with an upset stomach in the port. After you get the whale's attention with a double jump on his back, you can help him by going face to face with a Fuzzipede in his belly. Watt will light your way. When the Fuzzipede leaves, the whale will offer to take you anywhere you want to go. Kolorado suggests Lavalava Island, land of treasure and a Star Spirit. In his eagerness to start searching for treasures of Mt. Lavalava, Kolorado darts out across the beach, where he is attacked by a pair of Fuzzies. Kolorado is no Indiana Jones. He needs your help to defeat the fuzzies. The settlement of Lavalava Island is a villiage full of Yoshis! Walk around the town and learn what the Yoshis have to say about Mt. Lavalava. You'll pick up some useful information and helpful items. Kolorado gets into trouble again as he attacked by two spear guys. Beat them to save Kolorado. When you return to Yoshi's Island, you see lots of Yoshis crying because their children are lost in the Jade Jungle. Go out to find the five lost Yoshis. You've always know to check plants to see if they release coins or other treasures. Some of the plants in the Jade Jungle move out of the way when you check them, allowing you to continue your journey into the jungle's depths. Your search for the 5 lost baby Yoshis starts with the discovery of their nanny. Sushie is a fish out of the water who could use your help in tracking down her five charges. You'll find her in a tree. Hit the trunk several times with your hammer and she will fall out of the tree. With Sushie on your team, you can cross large expansions of water and even dive down to get coins and items. After you battle a group of four M. Bushes, you'll discover Red Yoshi behind some foliage. The first member of the 5 Yoshis lost has become fearful of the Jade Jungle and its inhabitants. Your journey to save the others continues. You might want to go back to Yoshi's Villiage to get recharged. By clearing away bushes on top of a small island climb, you will reveal a pipe that leads to a dark cave. Go far into the cave to save the green Yoshi kid. Blue Yoshi Kid is on a small island in the western edge of Jade Jungle. You can swim with Sushie to the piece of land just east of Blue Yoshi Kid's island. There, you will find what looks to be a stump. When you hit the stump with your hammer, it will pop out of the ground and fall over, creating a bridge to where you save the Yoshi Kid. Yellow Yoshi Kid is surrounded by two Putrid Piranhas. The plants bite you for three points of damage or release poisonous gas. Win the dual against them to save the Yellow Yoshi Kid. Purple Yoshi Kid, the final lost Yoshi Kid, is just across a small strech of water from Yoshi's Villiage, safely sleeping in a tree. After you've shaken the tree with your hammer, sending the Yoshi Kid on its way, you can walk over a bridge to the south and hit a stump that will turn into another bridge, giving you easy access to the villiage. When you return to Yoshi's Villiage, with all the Yoshi kids safe, the leader of the villiage will reward you with the Jade Raven, a mystic sculpture that will help you find another path to Mt. Lavalava. The Jade Raven is the key to find Raphael the Raven. Place it in the statue of Raphael in the Jade Jungle. The statue will move to the side, allowing you to go deeper into the jungle. As you enter the territory of Raphael the Raven, you'll find thick foliage. Check all the plants in the area. Two bushes in the back of the area will part when checked and reveal the path to the next area. There are several Blue Blocks and several small holes in the ground where the path is blocked with a very large rock. The holes are connected to an underground spring. Push the blocks so that they cover all of the holes, including the hole that releases a small geyser. The water will shoot up under the gigantic rock and carry it away. The path stops in a place with a few trees and some jungle vines. If you jump up and grab one of the vines on the second tree, a group of plants will move out of the way, opening the path once again. The last obstacle in your path to Raphael the Raven is a Magikoopa and three Putrid Piranhas. The Magikoopa can cast magic on the Piranhas, making them powerful. Raphael the Raven is at the top of a large tree. When you speak to the powerful purple bird, he will move heaven and earth to help you reach Mt. Lavalava, or at least he will move a very large root that blocks your path. Before he sends you on your way, he will give you the incredible Ultra Stone, which gives you the ability to promote your party members to ultra-rank when you find the super blocks. Mario(you) has seen a moving platform in his life as the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. You'll find that there are a number of sinking and sliding platforms in the passages of the volcano. Wait for the right moment, and then jump. With the Ultra Stone in your possession, you can use the super block in the northeastern passage to bring a Super-Ranked member of your party up to Ultra-Rank, giving your partner more power and fighting techniques. There are three blue blocks on the far side of the lava river. Use Parakarry to cross the river, then push the blocks into the lava so that they form a straight line over the expanse. The blue block baricade will stop the lava flow, giving you access to the lower area. A wide river of lava flows through the chamber that holds the Ultra Hammer. Push two Blue Blocks into the lava so that they form a partial bridge, then walk and use Parakarry to carry you the rest of the way. The Ultra Hammer will be yours! You'll find a jump pad at the bottom of the large chamber in the heart of the volcano. Once you have the Ultra Hammer, hop onto the platform and use it to bounce back up to the middle of the chamber, then pound through the Metal Block with the Ultra Hammer and continue your adventure. The spiky rock that rolls through the long hall could roll right over you if you are not careful. If it looks like you're not going to outrun the rock, use Bow to turn transparent and let the rock roll through the barrier. A rock wall blocks your way. Push the blue block to the left so that you can sstep up to the ledge that holds several Metal Blocks. Next, break through the obstacles to clear a path for the large round rock at the top of the chamber. When the last Metal Block is out of the way, the round rock will roll and crash through the barrier. Even though Kolorado is wrong about the location of the treasure, he will lead you to a passage where you can collect a Super Shroom and Maple Syrup, two items that could be useful in the battle ahead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Boss #5: Lava Piranha ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The head plant of Mt. Lavalava may not be an articulate speaker, but it does have a strong bite and a fiery temper. Tips: Since the Lava Piranha and its buds hang high above the surface, you won't be able to reach them with your Ultra Hammer. Use your post powerful jump technique, which is your opinion, my favorite is Power Bounce to hit him hard. Also use some of the Star Spirit powers like Chill Out and Star Storm. Wear the Fire Shield badge, so that they will attack minimal damage. After you save the next Star Spirit, Misstar from the Lava Piranha, the ground will shake and the lava level will rise. Even though Kolorado desperately wants to continue his search for the treasure of Mt. Lavalava, Misstar will convince you that you should get out of the volcano quickly. Blast through a wall with Bombette, then rise up and out. When you return to Yoshi's Villiage, you'll find Kolorado, still searching for the treasure of Mt. Lavalava. If you find the treasure, Kolorado will give you something that you will need to advance to the Flower Fields, one of the four magical seeds. As it happends, the treasure popped out of the volcano during the eruption and landed in the Jade Jungle. You'll find it at the same place that you found Sushie. Give him the treasure and get the seed and continue your adventure. The Star Spirit, Misstar gives you the move, Smooch which uses 3 star energies and restores 20 Heart Points. Back to Princess Peach, once again. Bowser's guards are big fans of quizmaster Chuck Guizmo. You'll find evidence of their game show fever as you guide Peach through the castle's lower hall. When the guards find you, they'll enlist you as the third contestant of a game show in which you can learn about the Flower Fields, Mario's next battleground, and win the Sneaky Parasol and Jammin' Jelly. Here are the questions and answers of the quiz show: -What's the name of the boss inside the volcano on Lavalava Land? Lava Piranha -Where did Master Huff N. Puff imprison the Star Spirit? Flower Fields -What's the name of the scary round monster living in Dry Dry Ruins? Chomp -How would you get to Flower Fields? Tommorow or the next day... 22.Codes,Secrets and Cheats =========================== Original Mario music: --------------------- When a new chapter begins with the name and number. Wait a little while and the original ''Super Mario Bros.'' music will play. Read Luigi's Diary: ------------------- You have to have the Second boots (forget what they're called) and you stomp in the part of the floor, in Mario's bedroom, that sticks up. Luigi has built a secret basement! WHAT A CARPENTER! Get a melon: ------------ Go to Lavaland with a food you made with Tayce T. that required 2 ingredients to cook. (IE Bland Meal, Shroom Steak, etc.) Talk to the Yoshi outside of the store and offer him one of your foods... then you get a melon. 8-bit Mario: ------------ Inside Boo Mansion, if you go into the bottom right door from the Main Hall. When your in the room you jump on the block next to the vase, into the vase. You will pop out as 8-bit Mario from Super Mario Bros. Just jump back in or leave the room and you will change back. Free unlimited hearts: ---------------------- While in toad town, from the post office head to the right. Eventually you will see 3 blue creatures. The one on the right moves its eyes, and the other two dont. Walk in circles around the one with moving eyes to recive more and more hearts! Get lots of Coins: ------------------ Stay next the spinning fire things, keep jumping over it until it disappears. You will then get lots of coins. Play as Goompa: --------------- With Game Shark though, simply do the get all character code then when your in battle choose ''switch partner'' & he will be a chose, but there will be nothing in the text box & his picture is Kooper's. Rack up coins quick: -------------------- Late in the game, when you are leveled up, equip the ''bump badge'' which automatically defeats lesser opponents without having to fight them. Also equip the Money Money badge which can be got for 20 star pieces. Then go up in the castle to the cannon part. You can run into the Bullet Bills over and over. You will literally be swimming in coins. You'll up your coin count by hundreds quickly. Thanks to JGuru: I was slightly dismayed by this as the secret does work just not to the extent that they make it seem. You don't up your coin counts as quickly as they might make it look but you do gain coins faster than you would in any other spot. The thing is that only enemies that don't give out Star Points will die automatically and you have to be at least level 24 for Bombshell Bill's to stop giving Star Points (I'm not exactly sure of the level but I know it's close). The Bill's themselves present a great level up opportunity because as long as you can attack for at least three damage (which any Ultra rank buddy can do) you can take them out without a scratch on yourself. You just need to make the first attack by jumping on them (which takes out one of them) then attack the other two normally. This will get you between 3-9 SP each battle until you are high enough in level to beat them by bumping them. Get better Items with the 1 cent Mystery!: ------------------------------------------ If you have Tayce T. cook with a Mystery item, you'll get one of these several things: Apple Pie, Big Cookie, Bland Meal, Egg Missile, Fire Flower, Fried Egg, Fried Shroom, Honey Shroom, Kooky Cookie, Koopa Tea, Life Shroom, Potato Salad, Sleepy Sheep, Spagetti, Special Shake, Spicy Soup, Super Soda, Tasty Tonic, Thunder Rage, Volt Shroom. Since you can buy mysteries for 1 coin at Boo's Mansion, this is a cheap way to get some good items. Watch out though, because sometimes you'll get a mistake. Gameshark Codes: ---------------- GS 2.2 Or Higher Needed For This Game. Requires Diddy Kong's Keycode. Enable Code: ------------ (Must Be On) DE025C00 0000 F106C6B0 2400 Replace the xxx with the associated code. 094 - Apple 053 - Artifact 11c - Spin Attack 11d - Dizzy Attack 0e6 - First Attack 120 - Bump Attack 06f - There are 20 favors, and for every 4 favors that you do to him, you get 3 Star Pieces, otherwise you get 1 coin (woo!). Also, this is how you can get the Silver Credit or the Gold Credit for the Playground. Koopa Koot can be found in the last house in Koopa Village. Favor #1 (for 1 coin): KOOPA LEGENDS -- Go to Kolorado's wife house in Koopa Village and ask her for her book, "Koopa Legends". Favor #2 (for 1 coin & Silver Credit): SLEEPY SHEEP -- The North Toad Town Shop sells them for coins. Favor #3 (for 1 coin): TAPE -- Go to Goompa in Goomba Village and ask him for the Tape. Favor #10 (for 1 coin & Gold Credit): LIFE SHROOM -- It can be either cooked, bought at Star Haven, or found. There are 2 different letter delivery quests. The first one...consists of 11 letters found throughout Mushroom Kingdom that must be delivered in order to get 11 Star Pieces, or, one Star Piece for each of them. We call that the NORMAL DELIVERY QUEST. The second one...consists of a single letter you find somewhere, and as you deliver it, you will get another one, and another, and another. There are 14 letters in this sequence. When you finally deliver them all, your reward is the LUCKY DAY Badge, one of the rarest of all. We call this the SEQUENCE DELIVERY QUEST. So we have Normal Delivery Quest, which gets you 11 Star Pieces, and Sequence Delivery Quest, which is longer but gives you the Lucky Day Badge and a LOT of comfort for completing it =P Remember that to deliver a letter, talk to that person when you have the letter with Parakarry as your partner! - NORMAL DELIVERY QUEST -Letter Location- -Recipient- -Recipient Location- Mt.
