-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | X-men, Reign of Apocalypse for the Game Boy Advance | | By: Ben Semisch (Happybuddh311) | | Last Update: None. | | Version: Final | -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Thank you for reading my guide for X-men, Reign of Apocalypse. This game is pretty much a button-mashing beat-em up for the GBA. So how exactly do I expect to write for the game you may ask? Well I will give you a description of the enemies and bosses of a level, broken down on a level by level basis. This is good for you because I'm a great writer and you are stuck (or are so bored you're reading this guide). My goal is to try and make this guide as easy for you to read and use, and as helpful as possible, if you can think of anything that would help this guide fulfill that goal, then send it to me at Happybuddha311(at)Aol(dot)com. Make sure you include two things in the subject line "Your X-men FAQ" and what site you are reading the guide from. That way I can tell that it isn't spam, and if you ask a question already found in the guide that either the host hasn't updated or you're a lazy, stupid pile. If you are a webmaster looking to host this guide, don't. The only two sites that are allowed to have this guide are Gamefaqs.com and Ign.com. If you are reading this guide anywhere else, please inform me, so the parties involved can be dealt with in a courtroom setting. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Table of Contents -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- 1) Guide Information 2) Intro (you just read it, or skipped over it) 3) Table of Contents (this right here) 4) Modes of Play 5) Characters 6) The Walkthrough (the part you came to read) -Stage 1 - Xavier Mansion -Stage 2 - Canadian Showdown -Stage 3 - Department H -Stage 4 - Blackbird -Stage 5 - Sentinel Base -Stage 6 - Under Sea Base -Stage 7 - Paris -Stage 8 - The Savage Land -Stage 9 - The Statue of Liberty -Stage 10 - Genosha -Stage 11 - The Golden gate -Stage 12 - The Blue Area of The Moon 7) About the Author (Who gives a **** about that schmuck?) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Modes of play -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The modes of play in this game or well, few. Actually less than that, there is really on two modes of play, but it must be your lucky day, because I'll tell you what all those confusing things are on the main menu. Assuming you have the mental capacity of a 5 year-old and can't figure it out yourself. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Start Game ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ In this option you erase an existing game to start a new single player game, or start a new game in a blank file. Pretty simple eh? ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Multiplayer- vs. Mode ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Wow this game just turned into a fighter with two GBAs and a link game. Knock the crap outta your friend or get smacked around in this mode. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Multiplayer- Co. Op. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Tired of kicking the sh*t outta your friend? Well take it to the computer with this mode, work together and beat that boss that's been giving you troubles. Or just smack some stupid AI controlled opponents up. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Load Game ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Here you load your single player game, if you couldn't figure it out, then I'm amazed you even found this guide. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Options ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Here you can switch up the sound (on, off) the number of continues (3,5,7 or 9) and the music (on, off). What excitement! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Charcters -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- In this section I'll introduce you to the 4 X-men you'll be able to play as. Now this is kind of a side note, but I think there really should be more than four x-men, don't you? I mean you have Wolverine and Cyclops which are obviously two of the favorite X-men, but where are the rest of them? ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Wolverine ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Real Name: Logan Height: 5'3" Weight: 195 Lbs. Weapons: Razor Sharp Claws Specialties: Fast healing, and a Metal Skeleton. Wolverine is definitely my favorite X-man. His attacks are quick and fast and leave enemies wondering what just cut them to shreds. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Storm ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Real Name: Ororo Munroe Height: 5'11" Weight: 127 Lbs. Weapons: Ability to control weather Specialties: Ability to control weather I never liked storm she, is all "OMG I CONTROL THE WEATHER F33R ME! BLARG!". That's such a weak ability, it's not that cool either. At least she can fly. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Cyclops ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Real Name: Scott Summers Height: 6'3" Weight: 185 Lbs. Weapons: Energy Beams Specialties: Projects energy beams from eyes I never understood how he realizes his energy, does he just open his eyes? If he does how can he see? Either way, he's a decent character to use. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Rogue ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Real Name: Unrevealed Height: 5'8" Weight: 120 Lbs. Weapons: Super Strength Specialties: Absorbs mutant power How come I never heard of Rogue until this game? Because she is an un-popular X-man, that's why. I would have rather have had Night Crawler or Gambit (both of which make an appearance as bosses in the game). Well, we got stuck with her might as well use her. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The Walkthrough -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Here we go, the part you came to read, so why are you reading this? Go to the part you're stuck on and read that. Are you still reading this? What the hell is wrong with you? Okay go now. I can't believe you're still reading this. Man, no wonder you're stuck on the game, you aren't even looking for help. As for the "Enemies" I'll just be giving you a general description of them, if they have real names, please tell me them, and I can look like I know what I'm talking about. (Happybuddha311(at)aol(dot)com) ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 1 - Xavier Mansion ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ This level only has two different kinds of enemies (excluding the boss obviously). The Green Troops - These guys punch and well that's about it, you can take them down in one combo, or you can jump and attack to knock them down, then do it again and again until they die. The Red Troops - These guys are a bit more powerful, they have a dash attack, and an upper-cut, so they can catch you off guard, and they have a chance to counter-attack if you go air borne on them. Boss: The Blob Just smack this fat man up. He shouldn't be much competition. If he jumps, jump and attack him in the air, you should always knock him out of the air. Just try to use combos against him, then use your mutant power to hit him up some more. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 2 - Canadian Showdown ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ This level has the same enemies as the first level, with a few new faces. Basically these weird ying-yang type guys appear, they shoot beams that go across the screen, and you can't jump over them. All you have to do to dodge them is press up or down, because they only travel on one axis. Boss: Cable This man is so easy, just whip him with combo after combo, if you just get mashing the A button he shouldn't even hit you once. If he starts attacking you and you start well, sucking, just smack him with the B button again and again, until you finish him off. If you have mad button mashing skills, like me, you can probably finish this sucker off without taking a hit. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 3 - Department H ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Like the last level a few new enemies await you in this level, red Ying-yang dudes. They are tougher than the green Ying-yang guys but they are taken out easier because they can be attacked with a jump attack, and they don't shoot those beam things. This level also has booby-traps which act as land mines, if you plan, or get lucky the enemies may just walk over them and blow themselves up, Idiots. Sub-Boss: Saber-tooth Saber-tooth is pretty easy, if you fight him right, just keep taping B to knock him on his ass, and he shouldn't even get a swing in. Boss: Gambit Gambit was always my favorite X-man, I wish I could play as him, but oh well, he's a pretty easy guy to fight. All you have to do is keep hitting him with combos, and when he jumps, jump and attack, you may not always win the air duel, but it's better than getting smacked by his staff. This guy, like cable will be taken out without a scratch for you uber button mashers. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 4 - Black Bird ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ No new faces in this one, however the green robot guys will now shoot things at you, but they do little damage and can be dodged by just pressing up or down. Boss: Phoenix This is one easy fight, just keep a combo going on her, if you don't let her attack you, you should be good. At the beginning of the fight try to take out all the red robots, they won't respawn, however, one green robot will continue to respawn and bug you, but he's got piss poor AI so he'll fight right next to Phoenix making him easily knocked out by combos. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 5 - Sentinel Base ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Oh no, Sentinels, these things aren't that tough, but they are kind of annoying. They are pretty much like the Red Ying-yang dudes, except they have a bit more life, and smarter AI. There is two types, but they are basically the same, one uses an energy punch and one just punches, they have the same range so you might as well be fighting the same enemy. Boss: Juggernaut Ugh...This is one tough fight, this man has an INSANE amount of health if you want to kill him, just keep tapping the B button every time he gets up. If you try to use the A button he can easily counter and whip your ass. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 6 - Undersea Base ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ There is quite a few new enemies in this level, there is these weird robots with shoulder pads, which come in two colors, the red ones have flame throwers so try to get in close to take them out. Then there is some black sentinels, these will shoot things at you, which isn't cool. To top it all off there is flame traps on the ground. You may be able to use them to your advantage though. Boss: Magneto All of Magneto's attacks are ground based, so you can jump to avoid nearly all of them. Which means your best attack will probably be the jump attack. You may be able to get a ground combo in if you really want to try and press your luck. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 7 - Paris ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ There isn't too many new enemies in this one. The only new enemies are robots with riot sticks, they come in three colors, the blue and purple ones are the same, with a difference in AI and heath, but the Red ones will shoot you. The only other new enemy is a spike trap, you can walk around most of them, and they should help you deal with some of the enemies Sub-Boss: Night Crawler Awww DAMN IT. Another one of my favorite X-men and of course, he's a boss. Why can't I use the good X-men? Well after fighting him, I'd rather not have him on my team because HE SUCKS. Just try to keep him on the spikes, so he takes damage from you and the spikes and you should have no problem with this boss. Boss: Psylocke This battle will be one of those long drawn out battles where you'll only want to hit the B button to fight this boss. She isn't too much of a challenge, but if she gets in a few hits, she can turn them into combos really easily. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 8 - The Savage Land ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ The only new enemy in this level is the Blue ying-yang guys, and the enemies from the first level appear for whatever reason. This is one of the easier levels in the game. Sub-Boss: Pterodactyl This guy is pretty easy, and seeing as how a full health Icon drops shortly into the battle, you shouldn't have much of a problem with this boss. Boss: Beast Beast is one of those forgotten X-men, the reason being because he isn't that good, he moves fast, but you can dodge most of his weak attacks. If you can keep up to or three combos, he shouldn't even get a hit on you. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 9 - The Statue of Liberty ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ This level has no new enemies or surprises. Boss: Colossus This guy is tough, not because he's good or anything, but because of all the enemies attacking at once. Make good use of the Dash attack, and Area attack in this fight (Down+*Direction*+A and A+B). ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 10 - Genosha ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ There is no new enemies or surprises in this level either, looks as though the designers ran out of ideas at this point. Boss: Silver Samurai The only hard part about this battle is the bombs, but if you stay on the right screen, you should be able to dodge all of them. If you've been giving your character strength with the level-ups, Silver Samurai should go down in three combos. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 11 - The Golden gate ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ What do you know, no new enemies again, the designers really just let the game go downhill from here. Sub-Boss: Arch-Angel This boss is easy, he takes a few hits, and goes down like he was paid off. Just make sure you don't use the jump attack or you might be in for it. Boss: Forge Just pin on one of the sides (the right works best) and pummel his ass with a myriad of combos. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ Stage 12 - The Final stage, The Blue area of the moon ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ The only new thing in this level is the bombs from the fight with silver samurai will be dropping randomly throughout the level. Sub-Boss: Flamethrower Just try to pin him up against the right side of the screen and beat the snot out of him with some combos, even if you fight this battle blind folded you still shouldn't take a hit. Boss: Apocalypse Man this guy is easy, the only thing he does is this weird "I am everything attack" that will hit you no matter what, and lame buzz saw attack that you can just jump over. Just kick this lamer's ass, use combos and your X power against him. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ The End, I'm going to ruin it for you. ^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^ A still picture of the four playable characters appears, with them jumping out to a balcony that has Xavier on it. NARRATOR: A PORTAL OPENS ON ONE END OF THE BALCONY AND THE BATTERED X-MEN STEP OUT. XAVIER: I SUSPECT THERE IS QUITE A STORY BEHIND? WOLVERINE: YOU DON'T KNOW THE HALF OF IT, CHUCK. CYCLOPS: HA, HA, HA, HA, HA..... That's it, the end, and what a Lame ending it is. Well good job you made it through the game, now go take it back and get something decent. What follows is stuff about me and other lame stuff you don't want to read, so just stop reading here. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- About the Author -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- (Correct as of June 1st 2003) Hello, thank you for reading this guide. If you cared enough to read this far, I might as well entertain you. I'm a 16 year old Virgo and I will be a senior (when the school year starts again) at Millard North High School. In my free time I am either on the Gamefaqs message boards (Current events, The FAQ contributor Social Board, or the punk board), or playing my Xbox, Ps2, or my NES. With whatever time is left, I sell tacos in a little shack by the side of the road for little more than minimum wage (I recently got a Raise now I make $6 an hour! WOOO), which is slowly taking over my life with it's "OMG WE GIVE j00 more hours than j00 wantz0rz Benny FWARG!" attitude. Then I use my time machine to travel back in time, and fit playing hockey into my schedule. This will be my fourth FAQ/Walkthrough, and I feel that writing walkthroughs has really given me something better to do than watch some of the crap on television now days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Legal Stuff ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This FAQ is for personal use only.
