Walkthrough-------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: All games up to travelling team will be Three Sets of Six Games. All games after that, it will be Five Sets of Six Games. Also, I do the "Characters and Equipment you unlock" assuming that you play Singles first, and Doubles second. ================================================================================== =================================[VIII.1] Singles================================= ================================================================================== ============== =Junior Class= ============== Here is the things you unlock once you get the first rank and move up to the next class. Characters you unlock: Pam, Bob, Beth Equipment you unlock: Large Racket Once the intro finishes (bumping into the teacher, and such.), you will be in the room with your doubles partner. Ask him questions if you need to know how to play. Once you finish, you can go to the training areas (see sections IX and X) if you want the match to be easy, but you can start playing right away. Head down and get to the red path, with the cafe near. The right path going up is the Junior courts. Go up, and if you want, you can play Brian who is sitting on the bench wearing green. After playing him (or not), talk to the guy wearing blue that you see when you first enter the junior courts, he is the coordinator. He will organize matches so you can play them and move up. 4th rank match: Pam Very easy, you just have to stay on the baseline, and hit your shots with a lot of power. 3rd rank match: Curt This guy is easy usually, use the Drop Shot and smash it on the other side, but he has a very strong slice shot, so watch out on the serve! 2nd rank match: Beth Stay around the service line, and vary your serves, eventually she will have to dive for it 1st rank match: Bob You might wanna level up a little before you play this guy. But this guy is very slow since he is big. Shoot the balls back and forth, he will eventually miss. After this, you will win the Junior Class championship, and win an award. ============== =Senior Class= ============== Here is the things you unlock once you get the first rank and move up to the next class. Characters you unlock: Fay, Curt Equipment you unlock: Small Racket, Light Shoes If you want to change your racket, go to the left and into the building left of the paths. Go to the counter to the left and press A. You can talk to the other people there, or you can go into the Training Centers (see section IX). Once you get done, head out and go to the left path that goes up, and into the senior center. If you go to the far left court, you can play a practice match with Orange Fay. When you get done, talk to the girl at the entrance, just like you did at the junior area. She will organize matches with the 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place players just like in Junior Class. 4th rank match: Red Brian This guy is quite easy, all you need to do is play an aggresive net game. 3rd rank match: Pink Joy Stay in the backcourt, and hit the ball hard. If she gets too close to the net, just lob it over her. 2nd rank match: Yellow Allie Just use the Drop shot, and run to the net and do the smash. She seems to fall for this all he time. 1st rank match: Blue Fay Stay at the service line and hit back a variety of shots. She is kind of tough, but you should get her soon enough. After this, you will win the Senior Class championship, and win an award. =============== =Varsity Class= =============== Here is the things you unlock once you beat Blue Bob and move up to the next class. Characters you unlock: none Equipment you unlock: Iron Racket, Iron Shoes When you are ready, go down on the red path, and once you get to the courtyard, head to the left, and you will enter the Varsity court. At the lower part of the court, there is a woman swinging her racket. Talk to her if you want to play a practice varsity match. Once you are done there, talk to Kevin (the one in green), and he will set up a match to determine who gets on the traveling team. Travelling Team ranking match - Blue Bob This guy is just like the regular Bob you played in Junior class. Just use aggressive net play, and drop shots, its usually pretty easy. Once you win, you will get an award, and a spot on the traveling team. You will go back to the main menu. ================ =Traveling Team= ================ Here is the things you unlock once you get the first rank and move up to the next class. Characters you unlock: Sammi, Spike, Emily, A. Coz Equipment you unlock: none Once you get back into your file, your partner will tell you that you need to go to the headmasters office. Go to the path you were on in the senior, junior, and things like that, go down, and keep heading down until you reach a building. Go to the right and go up the stairs, and into his office at the left. Once you talk to him, he will congratulate you. He tells you that you are going to the Island Open in the morning. Once you wake up, Mark, Emily, Kevin, and the Headmaster will fly in a plane to the Island Open. You can explore the island if you wish, since after you finish the Island Open, you can't go back. When you are ready, go to the Organization Centre and get in the empty circle to start out. 1st round - Sammi Stay behind the service line, and return her shots the best you can. From rallying, you will eventually win! 2nd round - Spike Spike has a mean Drop Shot. But the further back you are, the more effective the Drop Shot is, so play an even meaner Net Game. 3rd round - Emily Emily's weakness is her dive. She misses a lot and it takes her a while to get up. Take advantage of this! Hit to the left and then to the right, until you make her dive. Final Round - A. Coz Just hit Drop Shots, then charge the net and hit a strong shot. This technique will do wonders. After beating A. Coz, you, A. Coz and Kevin will go to the award ceremony. A. Coz is mad becuase he lost. Once you get the trophy, the credits will roll, and you will go back to the main menu. But wait! It's not over yet! ================= =The Final Match= ================= Here is the things you unlock once you beat Mario and move up to the next class. Characters you unlock: Mario Equipment you unlock: none Once you continue you will start at the Headmasters Office. He will tell you all about Mario and how good he is at tennis. He even invited you to play him at Mario World. You will hop onto the plane, and fly somewhere under the rainbow. You will go to the main menu AGAIN! Continue your game, and you will be in Peach's castle. Everybody is here! Talk to Peach, and you will be asked if you want to play Mario. If you say yes, she will ask what difficulty he wants to play as, Hard, Intense, or Extreme. Hard is pretty easy here, and it does not matter what difficulty you play him as. After that, they will go in the circle under the rainbow to the court. Afterwhich the game will begin Final Match - Mario If your guy is high leveled (around 45) this match can be pretty easy. What I do is stay around the service line and get him to chase the ball. Then I hit a Drop Shot, then hit the ball on the other side. This might not work for you, but it is still kind of easy to win. Once you win, you get a scene with your character with Mario in a winning pose. Then you will see MORE credits. But this time it really IS the end of the game. Congrats! You beat Singles mode of Mario Tennis! Now lets get on to Doubles. ================================================================================== =================================[VIII.2] Doubles================================= ================================================================================== ============== =Junior Class= ============== Characters you unlock: None Equipment you unlock: None When you are ready, go back to the Junior courts, and you can play a practice match with Joy and Purple Allie by talking to Joy at the top right of the court. Talk to the coordinator, and he will set up the matches. 3rd Rank Match - Brian and Red Fay 2nd Rank Match - Beth and Pam 1st Rank Match - Bob and Curt When you beat Bob and Curt, you will awarded a medal and be able to play against the Senior Class players. ============== =Senior Class= ============== Characters you unlock: None Equipment you unlock: None When you are ready, go back to the Senior courts, and you can play a practice match with Red Bob and Green Pam by talking to Red Bob at the top left area. Coz Equipment you unlock: None When you continue your file, head to the Headmasters office. He will congratulate you, and then tell you that they are going to the Island Open in the morning. When you wake up, you, and a few other players walk into a plane and head to the Island Open. You should explore, since this is the last time you will come here, until you play through again. When you get done, stand on the free circles. Here are the people that you will play against.. 1st Round - Sammi and Sean 2nd Round - Spike and Elden Final Round - A. Coz and B. Coz When you beat A. Secrets------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================== =The Water Sprite= ================== This is how you get the Gold Racket and Silver Racket. First, you must equip the Iron Racket at the Equipment Shop. Go to the Training Courts and go to the lake in the upper right area. There should be a kid practicing his swing. Talk to him, and when he asks you if he has a fast swing, tell him No. You will show him your swing, he will laugh at you and run away. You will get really mad. Now you have to swing as many times as you can. I suggest getting a Kleenex or something like that, or a rag and put it over the A and B buttons. Rub your knuckles over the buttons, so you can swing really fast in 10 seconds. If you swing 100 times, you get the Silver Racket, if you swing 150 times, you get the Gold Racket. You can only get one of these rackets, so the first time you get 100, you have to get 150 as well. =================== =Pick Your Partner= =================== Once you beat the game (beating Mario) you will be able to choose your partner. So, you can play as Alex and Kate, or Nina and Harry, if you wish. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------XII.
