Card Captor Sakura GB! Alright then, this is my first attempt ever at writing a walkthrough for any game. If something doesn't make sense, feel free to email me at fong_l@hotmail.com or leave a message on the board for Kero. :) I check often. How to Capture the Cards 9. Tips 10. Legals 1. Story: --------- You play to game as Kereberos, the Guardian of the Book of Clow. One day, a girl named Sakura Kinomoto came down to the basement of her house because she thought that something funny was going on. She pulled out the Book of Clow and the latch opened. She opened the book and took the top card out. She sounded out the English word on the front of the card. All this while, you should have been guarding the cards, but you fell asleep. Once she sounded the word out, 'Windy' she invoked the magic power and all the other cards flew out of the book. Now, you, the Guardian of the cards, enlisted Sakura's help to find the rest of the cards and thus Sakura has become the Card Captor. 2. Menus: --------- The first menu that shows up on the opening screen has three choices: a) Start b) Continue c) Bonus Start: ------ The first thing you need to do before starting a new game is setting the date and the time. This game is a real time game, meaning that as time passes in real life, time also passes during the game. Use the left and right arrow keys to switch between the year, month, day and time. Use the up and down keys to change the values of the numbers. Use the A key to confirm these numbers. Once you've set this, the game will start. Continue: --------- This option will continue the game that you have saved. There is only one save slot for the game. It will take to you to the exact spot you saved to. Bonus: ------ This section has many extra features to the game including minigames, a fortune teller and printing fun! The submenu has four choices: a) Minigames b) Fortune Teller c) Printer Fun d) Cancel 3. Minigames: ------------- The submenu for Minigames has four choices: a) Reversi b) Tetris c) Hotcakes d) Cancel Reversi: -------- Just like the Windows game, the object of the game is to try to obtain the most squares on the board. You are the purple bears and the computer opponent plays with the pink rabbits. You try to place your bears so that there are rabbits between them. The rabbits between your bears will become bears. Use the arrow keys to move around the board, and use the A button to place a bear. Note that you can only place bears where there are rabbits between them. Tetris: ------- Just like the Nintendo game. You try to get rid of as many lines as possible. Use the left and right arrow keys to move the pieces from side to side. Use the down arrow key to make the piece fall faster. Use the A button to rotate the pieces. Hotcakes: --------- Something like Simon Says. Watch the pancake sections light up and you have to match the sequence with the arrow keys. You start off with 4 pieces, and then each round you get an extra piece to remember. You have 20 seconds to complete the sequence each round. The sequence will appear as question marks in boxes around the screen. Try to make it all around the screen. Cancel: ------- Takes you back to the Bonus submenu. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Fortune Teller: --------------- Put in your birthday and it will tell you your fortune of the day for Affection, Money and Health. Printing Fun: ------------- This is to make something like stickers that you can print off of a GameBoy Printer. There is a box for a name at the top of the screen and the button next to the name box is to save what you are doing. The first and second tabs have Japanese characters to choose from to make a name. The third tab has numbers, English letters and some more Japanese characters. The fourth tab shows all the characters in the game. The fifth tab is to choose a border. Use the arrow keys to move between the tabs. When in the first, second and third tabs use the arrow keys to move between characters. Use the A button to select a character and the B button to delete one. In the fourth tab, use the left and right arrow keys to switch between characters and the up and down to change their clothes. Press A to confirm. In the fifth tab, use the up and down arrows to select a border and press A to confirm. To get out of any of the tabs, press Select. Cancel: ------- Go back to the main menu. 4. Game Controls: ----------------- Here is a map of the game screen done by Tenchi. The A button is use to confirm the action you want, the B button to cancel, and the Select button is to bring up the Book of Clow. Game Screen: This is the basic playing area in the game. Normally, it will show a map of the first floor of Sakura's house. When I refer to the 'main screen', the first floor is what I am referring to. Kero: The first picture on the far left of the screen is a picture of you, Kero-chan. This picture will change depending on the mood you are in. T: Talk The first button that you can click on is one that look like Sakura talking. This is used to talk to whoever is in the room you are in. Generally this is used to talk to Sakura, however on occasions you get to talk to Tomoyo, Syaoran and other people. M: Magnifying Glass The second button looks like a magnifying glass. This is used to look at certain items in the room. When the magnifying glass on the screen flashes, you know that you can examine it. Hit the A button to examine items within the room. If you are looking at the map of Sakura's house, the glass is used to get into a room or to move up the stairs. ?: Thoughts The third button looks like a question mark. This is used to see what your thoughts are. When you click on it, you will speak your thoughts aloud. At times, this is needed to provide Sakura with more information about Clow Cards. E: Exit Screen The fourth button looks like a paw. It allows you to exit the room you are in, or if you are on one floor in Sakura's house, it allows you to go to the other floor. Q: Quit (and Save) The fifth button that is on the far right of the screen, look like Kero sleeping. This button is used to Save and/or Quit your current game. The first question asked is if you want to save or not. First choice is Yes, second choice is No. The second question asked is if you want to quit your game or not. Same choices as above. 5. Map ------ To give you an idea of Sakura's house and what rooms I will be referring to, here are maps of the house that were also done by Tenchi. I have also modified these slightly. Main Game Once you've set the date and time for a new game, you are automatically taken to animation sequences. During this time, you see a lot of text. Press A to continue to read the text and going through the sequence. Once you've finished the sequence, you should be at the main screen (first floor of Sakura's house). You should also have The Windy and The Fly. Use Select to see the cards. Since this game is a real time game, I suggest using the REW emulator. This emulator goes in time with your computer's clock. Thus, if you change your computer's date and clock, the same will happen in the game. Before loading the game into REW, I suggest you change your computer's clock time to be 6:00 am. Then, you'll be able to catch The Shadow later on. Then load a new game, and set the date, and the time that your computer's clock is at. The point of this game is to go through the game and help Sakura capture the Clow Cards. Most of the game is looking for Sakura at certain times to talk to her. If you press Select, the Book of Clow will come up. Use the arrow keys to move between the cards. If a card is shaded, that means that you haven't caught the card yet. Next to each of the cards that have not been caught, there should be lines that look like note paper with bells on the lines. These indicate the times that you can talk to Sakura. Each line represents a time, with the first line being 8:00 am. The lines go in two hour intervals until you hit 24:00 (midnight). If there are bells between two lines, that means that you should probably go and talk to Sakura in that interval of time. Once you've talk to her about a certain card, when you pull up the Book of Clow, it will be on the card you are trying to capture. The bell will also have disappeared. Note that although a bell may appear in a certain interval, it may not be accurate. Thus I have included the times that you should probably go and find Sakura. Another thing is that, although the cards do not have to be caught in any particular order (except for The Shadow being first), you may need a specific card to capture another (i.e. The Watery to capture The Rain). Thus, you may not be able to capture a card, even though you go in a specific time interval, if you do not have the correct card needed to capture it. Note that although I have included the Day when I caught them, you can also catch them on any Day. I felt it would be easier to tell if I included days, so that if I said, the next day, then you wouldn't all get confused on me. :) 7. List of Cards: ----------------- Here is a list of the cards as they appear in the Book of Clow and the times that you need to talk to Sakura about them. How to Capture The Cards: ---------------------------- The Windy: ---------- You have this card at the beginning of the game. The Fly: -------- You have this card at the beginning of the game. The Shadow: ----------- Day 1: ------ 3:30 pm: Talk to Sakura in her bedroom. Tomoyo is over. You have to talk to Sakura and Tomoyo. Then when you have control of the menu, talk to Sakura. Then use '?' and talk to Sakura. When Tomoyo shows up on the screen talk to her and Sakura until they leave the room. 8:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room. You will start to talk and then Sakura will join you in the conversation. Then you are taken to the school. Sakura and Tomoyo talk a bit about Sakura's battling costume. After Sakura changes, she wants to know what you think, so click on '?'. After that bit of talking, The Shadow shows up. Use The Windy to capture it. More talking. Then you're taken back to the main screen. The Watery: ----------- Day 1: ------ 12:00 pm: Go to the dining room and Sakura will start to talk to you. She's telling you about what happened at the aquarium that day. After she finishes talking, she wants to know what you think about it, so click on the '?' button. After all that talking, she'll kick you out of the kitchen. Go to her room. Immediately, your thoughts will come on the screen. Then Sakura shows up and she'll start to talk again. You talk with her for a bit. Then talk to her again until she leaves the room. 6:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. Then exit her room and come right back in. You'll see text right away. This would be Sakura's phone conversation with Tomoyo about her date with Yuki the next day. Day 2: ------ 12:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and she will leave for her date. Notice that you get sunglasses as you go undercover with Tomoyo. :) You'll meet up with Tomoyo on the road. Talk to Tomoyo. Then Sakura and Yukito show up. Some talking amongst Sakura and Yukito. Once you have the control again, talk to Tomoyo. Then you're taken into the aquarium. Once in there, a lot of talking happens. Touya is there too, being a waiter. After all the talking, you go back to Sakura's house. 6:00 pm: Go to Sakura's bedroom where she'll immediately start talking. Then you'll be taken to the aquarium where you can capture The Watery. More talking happens. Then The Watery shows up. Use The Windy to capture it. Some talking and then it's back to the house. The Wood and The Rain: ---------------------- These two are caught in the same long animation sequence. Note that you have to have The Watery to be able to catch The Rain. Day 1: ------ 7:00 am: Go to Sakura's room. She should either be there, and you won't be able to talk to her or she won't be there at all. Then, use the magnifying glass on the window and she should show up. Then talk with Sakura. Talk again once you've got control again. You'll talk to her and then you'll be taken to the stairs. Then you're back to her room. 12:00 pm: Come back to her room and you'll start to talk to Sakura. You are then taken to the living room. After some talking, you are caught by The Wood. Then the scene switches to the main door. Tomoyo shows up, and helps you and Sakura out. Once you are free, Sakura seals The Wood, but there is no battle scene for this. You're taken first to the stairs and then back to Sakura's room and you talk some more. When you have control again, talk to Sakura. She changes into her battle costume and then there's more talking. Then you're taken to the basement. More talking and then The Rain will show up. For this card, you need to use The Watery to seal it. More talking and then its back to the main house screen. It's not done yet though. Day 2: ------ 9:00 am: Go to Sakura's room. She should start talking immediately. After some talking, you'll be taken to a new room. More talking there and then you're taken to the forest. Talking there, and a man who looks like a lumberjack shows up. More talking. Then you're taken back to the new room. Once you have control of the menu, talk to Sakura. She'll talk some and then change. Then its back to the forest. More talking with the lumberjack. Then, once you have control again, talk to Sakura. More talking. A screen shows up with a rainbow and a guy. More talking with the lumberjack. Sonomi also shows up. More talking. Then its back to the house. The Jump: --------- Day 1: ------ 6:00 pm: Talk to Sakura in her bedroom and you will be taken to the stuffed animal shop. More talking with Sakura, Tomoyo and the store owner. After a while of talking, you will be able to access the menu again. Using the magnifying glass, examine the stuffed animals. There should be one at the uppermost right hand corner of the bookshelf. It looks like a frog. When you examine this one, you should be thinking something that is different from the rest of the stuffed animals you've seen. Click on the '?' to convey these thoughts to Sakura and then you will talk to her again. Once you have control, talk to her again. Finally you will be taken to Penguin Park to capture The Jump. Use any card to capture it. Talk some more and then its back to the house. However, this sequence of events does not end there. Day 2: ------ 12:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room again and talk to her. You will be taken back to the stuffed animal shop and be told something about how the lady and open her shop and sell things now. Then you're done. The Illusion: ------------- Day 1: ------ 6:00 pm: Talk to Sakura in her room. You'll be taken to the bathroom, where she'll talk some more. Day 2: ------ 6:00 pm: Talk to her in the kitchen. Then you're taken to living room due to a phone call. Then you're taken back to kitchen and then to the forest. Tomoyo shows up. You talk lots. Then The Illusion show up. You have to try to capture it using all the cards you have and none of them will work. You're then taken to Tomoyo's while Sakura recovers from falling off the cliff, at Yukito's. Day 3: ------ 1:00 pm: Click on '?' and Tomoyo comes. You're taken back to Sakura's bedroom and more talking between Tomoyo and Sakura. Then its back to the forest. Nadeshiko shows up as The Illusion. Some talking. Then The Illusion shows up again. Use any card to capture it. Lots of talking and then its back to the house. The Silent: ----------- Day 1: ------ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll tell you about the trip to the museum tomorrow. Day 2: ------ 12:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and click on '?'. Sakura will not be there. 8:00 pm: Go back to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll talk to you about what happened at the Museum. Then you'll be taken there. Tomoyo shows up. More talking and Sakura'll change. More talking. When you've got control of the menu buttons, use the magnifying glass to look at the window at the end of the room. Tomoyo will start talking right after you've looked at the window. After she finishes, click on '?'. More talking. Then use the magnifying glass to look at the picture the furthest away from you on the left wall. Then talk to Sakura. After that conversation is done, talk to her again. Eventually, the little boy will show up. Once you've got control again, talk to the boy. A lot of talking and I mean a lot. Then The Silent shows up. Use a The Shadow to capture it. More talking and then you're taken to the road. Talk some more and it's back to the house. It's not the end of it though. Day 2: ------ 8:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll blush and go dreamy eyed. Talk some more, then you'll be taken to the window. You think a bit and then its back into the room. Touya And Yukito show up and they talk some. Then they all leave the room and you're done here. Note that this may not happen. The Thunder: ------------ Day 1: ------ 7:00 am - 8:00 am: Go to Sakura's room and wake her up. She'll get up and talk about a dream she had. Then Touya comes in because she was being so noisy and he talks. More talking between them. He leaves. Sakura gets changed for school and then she leaves. 4:00 pm: Go back to Sakura's room. She'll ask you about someone named Syaoran Li. You'll give a long explanation. More talking. Once you have control of the menu again, talk to Sakura again. She gets a phone call from Tomoyo. Then you're taken to Penguin Park. More talking. Syaoran shows up all looking mad. Like always. They talk. He insults you saying you're a stuffed toy. Then The Thunder shows up. Use The Shadow to capture it. More talking and then it's back to the house. You're not done yet though. 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll blush and go dreamy eyed. I'm guessing something about Yukito. Talk some more, then you'll be taken to the window. You think a bit and then its back into the room. Touya and Yukito show up and they talk some. Then you're done. Note that this may not happen. The Sword: ---------- Day 1: ------ 2:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and click '?'. You'll be taken to the living room. Tomoyo is there. Talk with her. Then you're taken to the road that leads to the school. Sakura shows up. More talking. Syaoran shows up. More talking. The Sword shows up. Use The Illusion to capture it. More talking and then it's back to the house. The Flower: ----------- Day 1: ------ 7:OO am: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll tell you about field day. 2:00 pm: Go back to her room. Using the magnifying glass, look at the TV. You were playing video games and you get a call from Tomoyo. Talk lots, and once you've finished talking, you've got the card! The Shield: ----------- Day 1: ------ 6:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. Day 2: ------ 10:00 am: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. Then you'll be taken to the road. Talk more. Then you're taken to the front of Tomoyo's house. She shows up and you talk more. You go inside Tomoyo's house where you talk some more. Sonomi shows up. More talking. Once you have control, use the magnifying glass and look at the wall on the right, however you have to click really close to the edge of the window on the right. More talking. Then click '?'. Something happens where the screen shakes. Some more talking and then the screen changes to a battling scene where The Shield shows up, but you don't do anything there. Then you've got The Shield. Sonomi comes back in. More talking and then it's back to the house. The Power: ---------- I have not caught this card yet. The Mist: --------- Day 1: ------ 10:00 am: Talk to Sakura in her room. She'll tell you about the festival that's going on a the high school. After she's done talking, she'll leave for the festival. 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Come back to her room. Then, use the magnifying glass to look at the TV. You were playing video games again. Soon, you'll get a call from Sakura. She's telling you about what's happening at the school. A scene will show up with Sakura and Syaoran, where she's holding a card; The Mist. More talking, and then you're done. The Float: ---------- Day 1: ------ 9:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and click on '?' After talking, you are shown the bird's eye view of Sakura's room. You think a bit and then are back into her room. Day 2: ------ 7:00 am - 8:00 am: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. 8:00 am: Come back into her room and click on '?'. Sakura will not be there. 12:00 pm: Go to the living room and you'll find yourself indulging in some drink. Then you are taken back to Sakura's room and more specifically, her window. Then to the road. And then to some room with another little girl. Use the magnifying glass to look at the purplish looking door. Then click '?' and talk with the little girl for a bit. Then once you can access the menu again, click on '?' again. You talk some more with the little girl, and then you're taken to Sakura's window. Then back to the little girl's room. Then back to the window. Talk some more and then Sakura will show up. Talk some more and then The Float will show up. Use The Fly to capture it. Then you're taken back to the road. The little girl shows up again. Talk to her once you have control. Then Sakura comes again. More talking and the Tomoyo shows up. More talking and then you're taken back to the bird's eye view of Sakura's room. Then its back into the room. Talk and its back to the birds eye view. Then its back to her room again. More talking and then finally, you're done. The Erase: ---------- I have not caught this card yet. The Glow: --------- Day 1: ------ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Go to Sakura's room and wake her up. Talk to her a bit. 12:00 pm: Go to the kitchen and talk to her. You'll be moved to the doorway of the house and you'll talk some more. She'll be telling you that she's going shopping. 1:00 pm: Go to her room and she'll be back from her trip. Then she'll tell you that Yuki invited her to a festival later on that night. 6:00 pm: Go back to her room again, and she'll be back from the festival. She will tell you about what happened at the festival. She will also then have The Glow with her. Then you're back to the main house screen. The Move: --------- Day 1: ------ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. Lots of talking. 12:00 pm: Go back to Sakura's room and talk again. If you first talked to her at 12:00 pm, just exit the room and go back in. The you're taken to Penguin Park. Use the menu to talk to Sakura. Tomoyo shows up. Then you're taken to a library. Talk to Sakura. More talking. Syaoran shows up. More talking. When you have control of the menu talk to Sakura again. Then use the magnifying glass to look around the library. The bottom of the bookshelf closest to you should show you asking a question when you look at it. Then click '?'. Once you've done that, talk to Sakura. Then you're taken back to Penguin Park. Click '?'. More talking and The Move shows up. Use The Windy to capture it. More talking, and then you're taken to Syaoran's house. More talking. Meilin and her grandfather (butler? I don't know. In the anime he calls Syaoran, Master Li.) show up too. More talking. And then you're done. The Fight: ---------- I have not caught this card yet. The Loop: --------- I have not caught this card yet. The Sleep: ---------- Day 1: ------ 12:00 pm: Talk to Sakura in her room. Day 2: ------ 10:00 am: Talk to her in her room around 10 am. You are taken to a road leading to the school and Tomoyo shows up. You are then taken to the university library. Sakura's father is there. After you talk for a while, you're taken back to road. Then its back to library. Click on '?' to tell Sakura your thoughts about the situation. After more talking, The Sleep shows up. Use The Windy to capture it. More talking and then it's back to the house. You're not done yet though. 8:00 pm: Go to Sakura's room and talk to her. She'll blush and go dreamy eyed. Talk some more, then you'll be taken to the window. You think a bit and then its back into the room. Touya And Yukito show up and they talk some. Then they all leave the room and you're done here. Note that this may not happen. The Song: --------- I have not caught this card yet. The Little: ----------- I have not caught this card yet. The Mirror: ----------- I have not caught this card yet. 9. Tips: -------- - Remember that certain cards can only be captured after you've captured another card. - Try to get the Rew emulator. It's the best one for changing times. - In general, most of this is finding Sakura at the right time. If you can't find her at the times I've indicated, then try anytime in that 2 hour slot. 10.
