---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Power Stone 2 FAQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Sorry, ascii art gets on my nerves) Author Kilgamesh FAQ started 11/12/00 ************ History Version 1.0 Uhh..No history yet. ************ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |1.Introduction | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, this is my ultimate Powerstone 2 FAQ. I've seen the other FAQs on GameFAQs, and im sorry to say some of them just don't go in depth enough on some things. Lets face it, that Pharoah Walker and DR.ERODE are damned tough, so why are they not covered very well? Well, that will end now :D Anyways, im hoping this FAQ will cover EVERYTHING in the game, item shop, characters, strategies, and all that good stuff. Enjoy! (Note:This is a dreamcast version FAQ, as well as an american version FAQ, use it at your own risk. The Character selection screen is set up like this. Pride** Falcon Ayame Ryoma Gunrock Mel** Wang Tang Galuda Rouge Jack Pete Julia Gourmand Accel Pride and Mel are secret characters. More on that in section 7. ***General Strategies and Battle Explanation*** If you have never played powerstone 1 or 2, I think you'll be quite surprised. The battle arenas are 3D platforms complete with a whole bunch of boxes, hazards, weapons, holes, and other such dangerous things you can use to maim you opponent. There is no blocking in this game, and the general idea is "Evasion". You can "dodge" normal A button attacks by double tapping a direction, but thats about it. One thing that separates this game from others is the Power Fusion system. The idea behind this is when you collect 3 power stones(Found in various places around the battle arena)you will transform and gain new attacks. It certainly seems like your attack power and defense are increased while morphed into a power fusion, but each time you use one of your 3(some characters have more)attacks, your fusion meter decreases. Normal A-B button attacks will decrease it by only a speck, but using a full power fusion attack(L or R Triggers) nearly 85% of your fusion meter will be depleted! The most you can hope for is, 1 normal attack and 2 super power fusion attacks(And thats only if your quick). Just standing around will also make your power fusion meter slowly decrease. Along with the battle arena and power stones, there are various hazards, boxes, and other such things lying around the arena, just wating for you to use them. Heres a small crappy list of the various things you'll find lying around that you can use to your advantage. **Walking next to these items will propmt a ring(dependant on your players color) to appear around the item. This shows which item you currently have selected. Pressing the B button near an item will make you "use" the item in whichever way that item can be used :D. =+=Boxes=+= Just your standard box that can be found in about every stage. The B button will prompt you character to pick one up. Pressing A or B after being picked up will make you throw the box at whatever character is targetted. Boxes do ok damage, and dependant on your character, have different speeds. If someone is hit with a box, they are knocked down, and lose 1 power stone. On adventure mode, boxes often have cards inside of them. Boxes include Wooden Box (Many) Metal Box (Space Station Area 1,2,3) Large Ice Block (Iceberg Area 2) Mummy Caskets (Tomb Area 1) Alien Pupa (Space Station Area 3) Wooden Fortress Sheild (Dark Castle Area 1) Vase (Dark Castle Area 2) Cactus (Desert Area) Muffin (Chaos Area Boss) Apple (Chaos Area Boss) Salt Shaker (Chaos Area Boss) Teapot (Chaos Area Boss) Missle Box (Iceberg Area, Yellow Sub) =+=Turrets=+= Turrets can be found in Blue Sky Area 1 and most of the time, all through the Icberg Area. Get next to one and press the B button to hop in. Turrets vary from stage to stage, and they will be covered in those respective sections. =+=Poles=+= Poles can be found in almost every stage. When you "use" a pole, dependant on your character, you will either whirl around it and fly at the enemy, or uproot it and swing it. Other types of poles are... Thin Cactus (Desert Area) Pillars (Blue Sky Area 2) Wooden Poles (Dark Area 1) Metallic Warning Pole (Space Station Area 1,2,3) Normal Looking Pole (Chaos Area 1,3) Bamboo Pole (Anywhere) =+=Vehicles=+= Various vehicles can be found around the various stages. Just get next to one and press A to hop in. All vehicles have an attack with the A button. Vehicles include... Tank (Blue Sky Area 3) Bomber (Iceberg Area 1,2) Scooter (Anywhere) Inline Skates (Anywhere) Skateboard (Anywhere) Anyway, on with the characters. ***The Moves*** All characters have a basic A button attack and B button attack. The A button attack is usually a combonation of some sort, and the B button is some type of knock out hit. Heres a general move list A button - Tap for combonation attacks B button - 1 hit powerful blow *In the air* A button - Single air attack B button - Dropkick/Crushing attack *Against wall while holding D-pad in direction of the wall* B button - A kick off the wall attack *Same as above, but in the air* B button - Auto aiming air dropkick/Crushing attack *********** **Rating System** Rating system goes from best to worst Best Great Good Ok Average Below Average Bad Very Bad Worst **************** * Falcon * **************** Strength: Ok Defense: Bad Speed: Ok Jump: Average ThrowPoer:Ok Properties Double jump Ahh Falcon, he's my favorite character, and with good reason too! He is fairly fast, and fairly powerful. Sounds like an average joe? Well, his power fusions are argueably the most useful in the entire game, not only that, but he's got the greatly coveted double-jump! Pharoah Walker is an Absolute breeze for Falcon! He seems to have some defensive issues, like taking some extra damage(At least it certainly looks like it), but playing an item-box game, his speed and double jump are more important. Strangley, he's fokker in the japanese version.... So, wasn't the fokker an axis spyplane used during the early parts of World War II? Why does he have the united nations stamp on his arm? Whos side are you REALLY on Falcon?????? Huh???? =+= Falcon's Power Fusion =+= Strength Good Speed Ok Defense Average Jump Same Properties: Double Jump Uproot/PoleSwing Falcon has a great power fusion. His L attack is damn cheesy, and his R attack is damn useful for mobs of enemies. His normal attack is pretty crappy though, don't waste power on it. Normal Attack -Falcon shoots a missle from his hand which homes in on the enemy. The damage is quite lame, and the homing is something of an exaggeration. You can however waste more power on this trash by tapping 2 more times before he goes through a recovery animation. R Trigger Move -Falcon charges up and shoots a huge volley of missles in all directions. This move is actually damn useful, on difficulty 7-8. If the enemy is dumb enough to be standing right next to you when this goes off, be ready to see more than half of a life bar be taken off. L Trigger Move -This is probably the most useful move in the entire game. Falcon charges the target 5 times with an energy headbutt. Dr.ERODE fears this move, and its also damn useful against normal characters. Its quite hard to evade, something the computer never manages to do. ************* * Ayame * ************* Strength: Very Bad Speed: Great Defense: Bad Jump: Good ThrowPower:Very Bad Properties:Double Jump Ayame is pretty good. As you can see, speed is her thing, which makes her hella useful for item-box fighting. Unfortunatley, her throw is so damn bad that item-box battles are harder than they should be. She is damn quick, damn quick.... She's best suited to jump fighting becuase of her speed, but items are my favortite. Ayame would be my favorite character if her power fusions were better for taking out Dr.ERODE because she also has the highly coveted Double-Jump. =+= Ayame's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Average Speed: Best Defense: Below Average Jump: Good Properties:Double Jump Uproot/PoleSwing Ayames power fusion is even faster than her first form! Her defense is still bad, but who cares, who takes hits in power fusion mode anyways? Normal Attack -Ayame throws a couple of shurikens from her back. This is pretty bad...... Don't use it, waste of power. L Trigger Move -Ayame jumps into the air and starts throwing shurikens like mad. This move has its moments, such as people swiming, and when Dr.ERODE's heart is exposed, other than that, its got ok damage, and is pretty hard to aim correctly. R Trigger Move -Ayame throws a shuriken that bursts into a bunch of other shurikens. This puppy is nice, it homes in on the enemy and continuously slices them up. Its good against bosses too. On a side note, this IS evadeable, and has been since part 1. ***************** * Gunrock * ***************** Strength: Best Speed: Worst Defense: Good Jump: Very bad ThrowPower:Great Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing Negatives:Big Gunrock is powerstones fat slow character, every game has one. His deal is power over speed, and brawn over brains. Its quite the opposite actually, Gunrock takes mad skill to play well. He has some great power, range and throw speed, his defense is insane too. His power fusion isn't that great however, and his largness is a major setback. I find it a chore to manuver around all these boxes and hazards when playing gunrock. =+= Gunrocks's Power Fusions =+= Strength: Best Speed: Worst Defense: Best Jump: Very Bad ThrowPower:Great Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing Gunrocks power fusion isn't that bad, but all of his attacks can either be easily evaded, or easily evaded in certain situations. His defense is WAY too high, speed still sucks though. Normal Attack -Gunrock throws a large boulder. This is easily evaded, and dosen't do very much damage even when it does hit. What a waste. L Trigger Move -Gunrock grows about 1.5 times bigger and becomes a living snowball. This is a great move because you can control where and who you run into. Jump up after hitting for extra damage. R Trigger Move -Gunrock jumps into the air and falls, causing an avalanch of boulders to fall all over the place. This move is ok, its good for the large groups. Whe gunrock hits the ground, anyone not in the air will get stunned too. L Trigger is better for bosses and 1 on 1. ***************** * Ryoma * ***************** Strength: Good Speed: Bad Defense: Ok Jump: Average ThrowPower:Ok Properties:Sword for added range Ryoma's not too bad. He has good speed for such a powerful guy, and his sword adds extra range to attacks. I like to play Item-Box games until the enemy starts backing off, then chase with normal combos. For intermediates. =+= Ryoma's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Good Speed: Below Average Defense: Great Jump: Good ThrowPower:Good Properties:No freeking properties Ugh, I absolutley despise this Power fusion. Its wastes so damn much power for such a weak evadeable normal attack. The special attacks aren't that great either. Big defense Upgrade btw. Normal Attack -Keep pressing the button to keep slashing(and wasting power) I hate this thing, its hard to aim it, and it does waxed damage for such large power wastes. Normal Attack -This is basically a homing energy ball of sorts. If your (In Air) going to use a normal attack, its should be this one. Its good for 1 on 1. L Trigger Move -Ryoma does a bunch of air slash cuts. This is a good move, If your lucky enough to hit with all of them, expect some sweet damage. Unfortunatley, this is quite evadeable. R Trigger Move -Ryoma turns into a vertical spining energy ball, rises up, comes down with fury. Not that bad, but he's got to charge up first, and who's going to sit around and wait for you to charge up? You must be close for this to be effective. ***************** * Wang Tang * ***************** Strength: Below Average Speed: Good Defense: Below Average Jump: Good ThrowPower:Below Average Properties:No freeking properties Wang Tang is nothing more than a stronger and slower ayame, and should be played as so. His throw power is better, but NO DOUBLE JUMP! No double jump severly hampers the evasion and item-box games. =+= Wang Tang's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Good Speed: Good Defense: Below Average Jump: Great Properties:None Wang tang has an awesome power fusion. His normal attack is actually, quite useful, and his L trigger is damn good for ERODE and such mobs of enemies. Normal Attack -Wang Tang Shoots an energy beam from his fist(remeniscent of DBZ, and Grafh). Pressing A 2 more times will make him shoot an equal sized beam, followed by a larger beam. Hard to evade for a little energy. L Trigger Move -Wang tang charges up a huge energy ball and throws it. This is obscene againts Dr.ERODE. Charging up 2 of these can easily clear a huge mob of enemies out, allowing you to pick up a dragon slayer or something R trigger move -Wangtang creates a large explosion and does a bunch of kicks rising up into the air, he then appears out of the ground doing a huge firing dragon uppercut. This move is great for huge groups of people, but against bosses, its weak. Its somewhat hard to evade BTW. **************** * Galuda * **************** Strength: Great Speed: Bad Defense: Good Jump: Average ThrowPower:Great Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing Galuda is a poor mans gunrock, and should be played as so. He has some range issues, and his speed and bigness get in the way of item-boxing. bleh! Damn good box throw though. =+= Galuda's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Great Speed: Below Average Defense: Good Jump: Average ThrowPower:Great Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing This powerfusion has some of the crappiest moves in the game. The stats are nice, but damn, GET SOME REAL MOVES YOU FOOL! Normal Attack -Galuda flies straight at the target, scoring a rather large combo. This move has great damage, and speed, too bad it never hits!! It wastes MORE than enough power too. Jump in the air and use the diagonal version for better aiming. L Trigger Move -Galuda shoots an arrow into the air, this splits up into a bunch of smaller arrows. Bad thing about this? IT HAS A RANGE LIMIT! Meaning if your not close enough, all the smaller arrows won't even hit at all! The attack it self is quite evadeable, and well, the damage is its only strong point. R Trigger Move -(Must be at close range) Galuda flies up into the air, and grabs the opponent, he then comes down and drops him like a red headed step child. is it just me, or did this move just take off 98% OF THE LIFE BAR?? The hardest part would be getting it to hit. ***************** * Rouge * ***************** Strength: Very bad Speed: Great Defense: Bad Jump: Best ThrowPower:Bad Properties:None Rouge has the most ridiculous jump in the game! Combine it with wall jump, and most attacks and items have no chance of hitting her! Speed is damn good, and her normal attack range is ok. The problem here is defense and power, its near impossible to have a good item-box game with her, and her only means of really causing some fat damage is her power fusion. Must say though, that jump is damn crazy, it even floats down. =+= Rouge's Power fusion =+= (Haven't noticed a stat change) Good god! Her normal attack has obscene range and damage! For little power! Eek! Normal Attack -Rouge blows flames.... Man! This has utterly devastating effects on large mobs of clusted fellows. The range is O B S C E N E, and for only a little bit of power. The only downside I could notice was bad recovery time. L Trigger Move -Rouge creates a very large explosion starting from her and spreading through all directions. Good for large groups, but damage isn't worth it otherwise. R Trigger Move -Rouge creates a large head that will breathe out about 5 meteors. This is your choice move for 1 on 1. You can chase your prey around in this mode too. Beware meteor range limit.... ***************** * Jack * ***************** Strength: Average Speed: Ok Defense: Below Average Jump: Great ThrowPower:Below Average Properties:Small Ducks when moving Man, jack is the cheese character. His jump is nearly as good as rouge's, and his greatest asset is his smallness, and duckage while running(Not a word). His jumping puch is HELLA useful, and reminescent of Powerstone 1. Later on i'll create a whole section for things jack can't be hit with while running :D. Oh yeah, his power fusion is a damn rapist! =+= Jack's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Ok Speed: Good Defense: Average Jump: Great ThrowPower:Average Properties:Small Ducks when moving This is a damned rapist of a power fusion! His normal attack should be used insanley until you have a speck of power left, then choose a special move. Normal Attack -Jack extends his hand a swipes with a HUGE blade. I can't beleive what a cheese this is, auto aiming, good range, reasonable amount of power, USE IT! L Trigger Move -Jack throws a bunch of knives into the air that aim for the target and shoot. Think of galudas peice of crap arrow attack, and make it better. Being at close range will result in more knives actually hitting. This is sadly quite evadeable. R Trigger Move -Jack extends his hands and spins straght up. Sadly, this is only really useful in a strange situation where 3 people are bashing you and low on life. The damage isn't that great, and the charge time is waxed. Blah. ***************** * Pete * ***************** Strength: Very Bad Speed: Great Defense: Bad Jump: Good ThrowPower:Below Average Properties:Small Negatives: Bad range issues Ugh, Pete is a strange one. I guess you could play him as item-box games, oh wait, his throw sucks. I guess you could go fighting normally...oh wait, he has no range. Uhh...I don't know what to say, if you have a pete strategy, mail it to me becuase I have no clue :D I guess this is just a poor mans Ayame. =+= Pete's Power Fusion =+= (Dunno bout the stats, cept that this is slower than his normal form, and has WAY more throw power) This power fusion has some good attacks, except for the normal one that is.. Normal Attack -Pete shoots out 2 beams. Big whoop. Little damage, and no aiming of any kind. You can move while shooting however. Note however, this puppy has good rapid fire. L Trigger Move -Pete Creates a bunch of toy soldiers in front of him that you can aim with. This works wonders on people stuck in a corner, but note, the initial range is damn crappy, about as much as a victory axe. R Trigger Move -Pete creates an electrical storm around him, causing mass damage and panic around him. This move ownz, use it. It Changes in the air, you can kind of fly around with it. ***************** * Julia * ***************** Bah, julia is a poor man's mel, and I refuse to even play as her for 1 fight Also, her eyes are too damn trippy. ***************** * Gourmand * ***************** Strength: Good Speed: Average Defense: Below Average Jump: Bad ThrowPower:Great Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing Needless to say, gourmand is a weirdo! He runs weird, and looks weird. He's got weird attacks, and he's just plain weird. On the upside, he's a rich mans gunrock! Great at Item-Box games, and not even that slow! I would be using him if it weren't for his somewhat crappy Power fusions, oh well. =+= Gourmand's Power Fusions =+= Strength: Great Speed: Average Defense: Below Average Jump: Bad ThrowPower:Best Properties:No freeking properties What the hell! Its a huge barney look alike! ARRGHH! Whatchu gonna do? Sing? Anyway, this is a halfway decent power fusion. MAD THROWING POWER! But thats not what you fuse for..... Normal Attack -Gourmand shoots some kind of firball into the air, which falls on the enemy(Hopefully). This is quite crappy.... its almost useful as anti-air but damn, it just can't hit anything else. L Trigger Move -Gourmand does a spin while breathing fire. Yeah, its sounds stupid, but this does insane damage. All ya have to do is get close enough...(Note. You can and SHOULD move around for maximum efficency) R Trigger Move -Gourmand creates a big melting pot and throws various food items at the target. This is pretty bad.....Low damage, and EASILY evaded, use at your own risk. ****************** * Accel * ****************** Strength: Average Speed: Good Defense: Below Average Jump: Good ThrowPower:Ok Properties:Good off-the-wall jump Accel is a fairly decent character. He has good speed, and surprisingly, Ok throw power for item-box games. He suffers from some bad recovery time with his normal attack though, and his defense dosen't help. He makes up for this with perhaps the cheesiest power fusion moves in the game. Accel is great for the powerstone stealers and people who like to cheese. =+= Accel's Power Fusion =+= (Haven't noticed a big stat change) This is a godamned cheap power change! First of all, he has wheels on his feet, and its basically like riding the skateboard. His jump seems to have gotten a bit better too. He has some damned cheap attacks.... Normal Attack -Accel shoots 8 bullets from his hand. Whoopee? Hell yes. He can ride around and shoot with this puppy, for only a speck of power! The damage is good if all the bullets connect. R Trigger Move -Accel turns into a huge wheel of death. Well, can you say cheese? Not only is this fast, but it hurts! Act like your riding the scooter, and increase the damage.... L Trigger Move -Accel fires 6 homing bullets that seek out and repeatedly attack your opponent. Porbably the cheapest move in the whole game, you can unleash 2 of these and just sit back and watch your opponent being raped somewhere 1000M up in the sky. Do not use this is places with wall type objects, they won't travel through anything, and they will dissapear in the water. ***************** * Pride * ***************** Strength: Great Speed: Average Defense: Worst!! Jump: Average ThrowPower:Good Properties:Uproot/PoleSwing Yeach! What were they thinking? This is a dead man's falcon right here! Sure he's stronger, and sure he can throw better and poleswing, BUT GOOD GOD! HE TAKES DAMAGE LIKE A PANZY LITTLE GIRL! Not to mention...NO DOUBLE JUMP!!! =+= Pride's Power Fusions =+= Blah, after his son's extremley useful attacks, im dissapointed! These attacks are too hard to aim, but can be useful in huge mob situations. Normal Attack -Pride shoots a horizontal tornado from his fist. This isn't as bad as it looks. Compare it to falcon's normal attack, and it's alot better. L Trigger Move -Pride does a tornado uppercut. This is EXTREMLEY hard to actually hit with, but the damage is ok. This dosen't waste as much power as most special attacks. R Trigger Move -Pride shoots 2 volleys of missles in a 360o around him horizontally. This is really hard to hit with, but if any of the missles actually hit someone, the damage is damn sweet. This dosen't waste alot of power either. ***************** * Mel * ***************** Strength: Very Bad Speed: Great Defense: Very Bad(Second worst) Jump: Great ThrowPower: Ok Properties: Umbrealla float Mel has to be played by an expert, for any type of winning useage. She takes damage very badly, almost as bad as pride, and her normal attack strength is bad to say the most. Thankfully, she makes up in pure speed, and jump, which are damn good. Not to mention her umbrella float, which can confuse the hell out of the computer. Her throw power is surprisingly, Ok. =+= Mel's Power Fusion =+= Strength: Below Average Speed: Great Defense: Very Bad Jump: Great ThrowPower: Ok Properties: Umbrella Float TRIPLE JUMP!!!!! Well, theres a reason to use mel. Her power fusion has the one of a kind TRIPLE JUMP! With this and umbrella float, she can float nearly across the ENTIRE desert area! Whee! Normal Attack -Mel creates 7 spinning material cards around her. This sucks pretty badly. I guess its useful for mob situations, and the power useage is really low. Damage is also really low. L Trigger Move -Mel shoots 12 gold coins in a spread shot out in front of her. This is surprisingly good against more than one opponent. Damage is great if many of the coins hit, and this can be used about 3-4 times. Bosses should fear this attack. R Trigger Move -Mel throws a bunch of meny bags into the air, that fall on the opponent. This is much like galudas crappy attack, except this one might actually hit, and it has no stupid range limit. Has a low power usage as well. =+=+=+=+=+=+= Enemy annoyance chart =+=+=+=+=+=+= Well, this is a little chapter describing the useage of the enemy ai, as well as an enemy annoyance chart for all your useless needs. -Falcon- Basically, falcon is pretty dumb under computer control. His main strategy is to get in your face, and start attacking. Hes very annoying with a tank or turret, and extremley annoying with a good weapon. He's in your face so bad, it's almost to the point where its suicidal. -Ayame- First of all, KILL HER NOW! Whatever you do, do not let her even think about picking up 3 power stones, because she can and will cheese you to death with the highly damaging split-shuriken technique. Whenever she's not in power mode, she's just like falcon, except more so, to the point where she is just asking to be smacked with a dragon slayer. -Gunrock- As you know, his defense is way too damned high. If there are other enemies on screen, forget gunrock and killthem first, gunrock just EATS up everything, dragon slayers, turrets, powerful busters, you name it. His main strategy is quite dull, boxes being his favorite choice. His power fusion is too strong to mess with, and most attack will do less than a pixel of damage. -Ryoma- Unfortunatley, ryoma has the speed, range, and power to really piss you off. Ryoma is a GREAT target to start bashing, he's very anoying. His main strategy is basically either go up to you, and attack, or pick up an item and use it. Ryoma is a big fan of bazookas, ice rods, and flame throwers, all of those annoying items. -WangTang- One of the most annoying top 5 people.... He will basically chase you around with all of his speed, wait for you to miss him, and then do a crushing attack and run away to collect your power stone. He dosen't like boxes very much *Big ol' hint*. Thankfully, he dosen't use his power fusion very effectivley. -Galuda- Also one of the most annoying characters, galuda likes to throw boxes, and we all know how fast galudas boxes fly. What you need to do, is either get him with a good item, a turret, or a power fusion, he has much defense, so be perpared for the hellishness. Whatever you do, avoid throwing boxes at him directly, he WILL catch it, and throw it right back at you, pick up your stone, and use some cheap ass power fusion while his buddies don't give you a chance to evade it. -Rouge- Possibly the most annoying character ever. What she does is jump, jump around and around, wait for you to make a mistake, do a crushing drop, pick up your stone, and whoop out her immensley cheap normal power fusion attack. She' hard to hit, and annoying, period. Throw boxes, and use a well aimed brave mans axe. -Jack- Jack is an almost decent AI character. As you now know, many items travel right over him while he's running, so what to do? Power fusions is what, jack really dosen't like to dodge, he's just plain suicidal. He likes to use his jump+A button attack, which is prety cheap, but thats about it. FEAR HIS POWER FUSIONS! -Pete- Pete is actually quite annoying. His normal attack punches are quick, and somehow, seem to out prioritize mine every time. It shouldn't take to much to take him out, but beware his love of itmes and turrets... -Julia- Julia dosen't even have a remote chance of killing you unless 1.She's gets in a turret or tank(Not likley) 2.She gets into her power fusion(Highly likley) My tip is, kill her quickly, and make sure she dosen't get into her all annoying power fusion. -Gourmand- Gourmand is on the annoyance top ten, becuase he's pretty fast, and pretty strong. His fusions are highly evadeable, but powerful, and he's a big fan of wang tang tactics. Get in a turret, or find a good item, his defense isn't the best in the world. -Accel- Accel's game is evasion, evasion evasion evasion. He dosen't like to get close to you, instead, he prefers to go treasure hunting for power stones so he can use his incredibly cheap moves on you. If he does get close, he loves to do a tap out dodge of normal attacks, then throw you into a hazard or something. He's not a big fan of jumping around, so you jump around instead, and use a crushing attack or something. -Pride- Im relieved when the computer picks pride. His defense is SOO bad, He's often out of the whole fight before the 30 second mark. A good item or power fusion will just destroy him completley, nuff said, he's the eaisiest character of them all. -Mel- Mel's basic strategy is to find the most annoying, cheapest, most anal item on screen, then go up to you, start using it, taking your stones, and setting you up so anyone else in the immediate vicinity can hit you with the dragon slayer of something. Mel is a big fan of turrets, and items. Fortunatley, her defense is almost as bad as prides, so, kill her first, before you throw the control across the room becuase of a ridiculous abundance of cheese in the game.(Note, she's pretty hard to hit) Now for the annoyance chart. (Name) (Dumb useless mark) (Annoyance LVL) Rouge - 11 Galuda - 10 Ayame - 10 Ryoma - 9 WangTang - 8 Accel - 7 Pete - 6 Mel - 5 Gunrock - 4 Jack - 3 Falcon - 2 Pride - 1 Anyways, what you do is add up all your opponents in the fight, and the resulting number is the annoyance factor, Obviously, 31 would be the most annoying fight, with ayame galuda and rouge. An average rating is usually around 17-21, which is actually quite annoying. You can only pray for Falcon pride and jack, with a measly annoyance factor of 6.... ********** Well, that's all for the characters. Wooden Box: Your standard wooden throwing box. Turret 1: A turret connected to a small stepladder. Walk up next to it via the steplader, and press B to hop in. Use the A button to fire. This turret can shoot a maximum of 3 rounds on screen at a time, with 2 volleys per press. The rounds in this turret have a limited range of about half the stage. Turret 2: Same as truuet one, except there is no stepladder, and these rounds travel all the way across the screen until it hits the stage boundarie. The volley limit of 3 is still in place. M.G Disp.:Whenever you walk on the machine gun dispenser, a machine gun pops out. Simple as that(Only 1 machine gun per dispenser on screen at a time) R. Hazard:This is just a large spinning plane rotor that causes damage if touched. ******** (Note. You can easily fall off the sides of this stage) Well, I must say this is one of the harder stages to win at. There is no real run away spot you can secure and hide in until you find a good item to start bashing enemies with. The turrets are damn annoying for you, because the computer often secures them for itself, making you dance around their bullets until the ship goes boom. There are only 5 treasures here, which isn't too bad, but they are too spread out, making it annoying to run across the stage dodging turret rounds for a dragon slayer that you probably won't even get to use. Only 4 boxes? WTF? I guess the only good strategy would be to lure the enmies over somehwere, try and knock them off, then quickly secure turret 2, and start cheesing like mad. Anyways, there is an eagle flying around, Useless? Not quite. The computer often liks to catch onto it, then stay there until they fall of into the unknown...LOL. What a bunch of idiots, its a good diversion to get yourself some extra time. Ok, so after awhile, the left wing of the p[lane will just fall off, followed later by the right wing, and eventually, the whole plane will just collapse completley, and then, its on to area 2. ***************** *Blue Sky Area 2* ***************** "Free fallin'" Well, I thought this was strange(yet cool). Its basically you, and your opponents just falling through the sky. At the upper right hand corner of the screen is your altitude meter, which starts at 12000, and ends at 200 (Which leads to area 3 of blue sky). There are lots of chests just falling with you, containing mostly food items and 2 umbrellas. The food items are pretty handy if you can reach them. Anyway, your only attack here is ramming, which can be executed by pressing any attack button. Once rammed, the oppononent becomes dizzy, and if you get rammed, move the d-pad around and press buttons like crazy to regain your balance quicker. You should definetley pick up an umbrella so you can land safely in area 3 without losing your powerstones. Be careful here, the computer is extremley aggresive(Almost suicidal too) ***************** *Blue Sky Area 3* ***************** "The palace?" ____________________________ __S_T_R_E_A_M__A_R_E_A__ | ____ __ _ ___ ___ ____ | |T | | |****| T || | | | | | | | || | |XXX | | |___| |___|| | |XXX | | | | | | | | | o o | | | | | | T | | |XXX |__| | ___ | | |XXX | | | | || | | | | | T | T || | |____| |T_|________|___|| | ^ ^ | | Waterfall Kinda like steps (Top view) *Key* T - Treasure **** - Tank entrance o - Pole XXX - Boulder Catapult XXX ********* Treasure - Your standard treasure chest Pole - Your standard pillar for swinging/climbing etc. Boulder Cat. - Punch this, or hit it with just about anything, and a large rock will fly at your target. Tank Entrance - The door for the tank, they come out by themselves. ********* This is not a bad stage. The boulder catapults are extremely useful and are AUTO aiming. I can sometimes stay up there all day throwing boulders. The boulders themselves break apart before hitting, for a nice splash effect. Other than that, the tank is damned useful, the AI dosen't really know how to stop you. Just shoot like mad and rush you opponent up close. In case you didn't know, the tank has an infinite amount of ammo and can have ANY number of rounds on the screen at a time. Beware the boulders while in the tank.... Anyway, its time you started thinking about actually killing the opponent before it goes into sudden death. What can I say, the tank is useful, but more importantly, that hole near the bottom right side of the stage is a tricky little place. Get your opponent down there, and have a good item ready, stand on the main floor above them, and use the item whenever they try and get out. My freind stopped playing because I had the soap bubble gun and wouldn't let him get out :D Luckily, he wasn't smart enough to jump off the stage and reset his position. Anyway, in adventure mode, this is a great stage for collecting cards. That watermill/stream up there has anywhere from 1/5 cards coming down from their every now and then. THIS IS DAMN USEFUL, when you first start so you can easily get your big surplus of cards. All you have to do is stand NEAR the stream, but make sure your under the windmill area, and you can just sit back and collect cards. Beware the time limit though. ******************** *Dark Castle Area 1* ******************** "The Courtyard" __________________________ \_________Roof___________/ |B | | | |B o| T |o | | T | | T | | C| Water Area| | | C| | | | C| |C | | C| |C | | | |C B| | |___________| B| | B| | T BRIDGE T | |_______________________| (Top view) *Key* B - Box T - Treasure Chest C - Castle Barrier(Box) o - Wooden Pole ********* Box - Duh, standard ordinary box. Castle barrier - Much like a box, but different looking. Wooden Pole - Just your standard pole. Treasure Chest - DUH. ********* This is one of my favorite places to start the game out at. LOTS OF BOXES! WHOO! MADD BOXES BOYY! Ehem. The enemy loves to stick around the water for some strange reason, its not like they can attack there, what the hell are they doing? You would at least think they would stick to the lily pads, but nooooooo. Anyways, this first part is a great place for item-boxing. Start with the barriers, and if you run out(likley) go with the normal boxes and items. The water serves as a good seperator, while galuda is over there jumping around like a fool, im whooping up on ayame for free. Did anyone work on this AI at all? Anyway, after a VERY short amount of time, the camera will zoom out, and flaming arrows will fall from the sky. This is your cue to get over to the right side of the courtyard, and just throw boxes for some added damage. If you stay on the left side, you WILL be engulfed by flames. Strangley, I noticed the AI likes to just walk into the flames, get throw back, walk, back, walk, back, walk , back. WTF are you guys doing?? Anyway, the screen will begin moving to the right and your new mission is to now climb up the side of the castle. I'll just call this *Dark Castle 1.5* Here's a little vertical map of the climbing process, since a top view would be somewhat retarded. (Top of castle) (end of cliff climbing) _________ ________ ________| __________________|______| |________________| ______ ______________ |_____ |____________| ___ _________ __| |_______| __________________ ____T_____ |_____*******____| |________| __T___ __________ _____| |________|___ |_____| __________________ |____*******_____| _______ |_____| __T__ __________ _____|___ |________| ________| ____________ ____T____ |__________| |_______| __________ __________ |________| |________| __________ __________ _________ |________| |________| |_______| ^^ | Case' you didn't notice, you | Anything above this mark start at the bottom and move | is pretty much off screen Upwards | ---------------------------------------------------------- (The ***** mark means, that panel will break when walked over) Anyways, this is pretty refreshing. The AI simply cannot climb up the sides of castles! They often just jump and hit their heads on something, while im sitting around having some Mel Pork© with my Brave Mans Axe*Hint* After your done with the tetris type part of this, you'll reach the top. There are 3 chests up here, which most of the time contain an iron pole or something useless like that, so just skip em. What you SHOULD be doing, is securing the door. 9 out of 10 times, there will be 3 opponents by the door, too stupid to realize its not even open yet. Take this time to pick up a barrier, throw, and repeat, until there all gone. You can either, attempt to combo the nearest person, or, just walk through the door which is probably open by now. Only 2 people can enter before it closes(No matter how slick you think you are). Avoid this at all costs. If you fail to enter correctly, you will be dropped in area 2, take damage, and most importantly LOSE ANY POWER STONES YOU WERE CARRYING! ******************** *Dark Castle Area 2* ******************** "The Bell Room" __________________________ | ** BBBBB ** | | BBBBBBB | |T BBBBBBB | | BBBBB | | | |* | | V | | | |B V | | | __|B V | | T P | | % T B B B T | |_____________________________| *Key* T - You know (All of those B's) - The bell B - You know % - Heirloom Katana V - Vase * - Entrance P - Picture ** - "Trap" door ********* Treasure - Your standard treasure chest. Box - Duh! Vase - Basically thrown like a box, but your opponent is dizzied if hit with it. Tap all the button madly to get out faster. Picture - Seems to be exactly like the box. Bell - When hit with any swinging item, the bell swings back and forth causing damage to anyone in the immediate vicinity(Including you) Heirloom - I didn't find this out until recently. You can pick this blade up and swing it. It sends forth a medium sized shockwave type thing in the direction in front of you.(Note. You must first destroy its holding case) Entrance - The entrance to the belltower(If you came in correctly(Also the entrance for various ghosts and sometimes the trap door)) Trap Door - Press B while next to it, and you'll reapear in some other place ********** Man, this place has quite alot of stuff in it, and its so small too. If your up against 3, the trapdoor is your best friend. Basically, I throw a bunch of things, then try and find some items. If someone is stuck in a vase, feel free to go up to them and throw them at an opponent, or just do a simple combonation attack. The bell is near useless, what are the chances of you having the right item, and the enemy being on the other side? The heirloom blade surprised me just now, I had no idea you could pick that up, I guess it will make a nice addition to my cheese arsenal :D. Oh yeah, there are alot of ghosts running around, they can't damage you, but can be helpful. If attacked, they will throw a random food item into the air, just make sure your opponent dosen't get it before you. =+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+= Ergh, sorry guys, I had to return the game or risk a 4+ day late fee. Next update will be complete. (No, this won't be like my wild arms2 pyramid boss FAQ, which I still haven't re-rented.) Well, I just thought I would point this out about the pharoah walker, because it is somewhat of a secret. You know his tail? You know that beam that can kill you in 1 touch(+extra cheap juggle hits)? Well, if you jump on his back(Use double jump off his head)and hit the guy on his tail, you CAN press B and jump in! Thats right, you can kill that annoying bastard in only about 10 shots of it. You only get 3 shots before your forced to jump off though. Don't worry, its more than enough, and its WAY better then attacking his legs.... =+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+=+==+=+= More on next update, Prolly be about a week before I get paid, then finish that use item/mix list......*Sigh*
