This is my first faq for the Dreamcast. This game has been released everywhere. Let me say that one of the reasons I bought was that NFL 2K was so much fun. Another reason was that I haven't had a Basketball game since NBA Jam:TE. Well anyways I hope you enjoy the faq. ************ *2. Updates* ************ Version 1.0 (11/18/99)- Everything is new. **************** *3. How To Play* **************** Controls Offense With Ball A- Pass B- Crossover X- Shoot/Rebound Y- Pass Icons L Trigger- Back Down R Trigger- Turbo D-Pad- Playcall/Shift D-Pad+A,B,X,Y- Call Play D+L- Call for Pick D+R- Alley-Oop R+B- Spin Move Basic Offense Directional Passing Push analog stick in direction of the player you want to pass to and tap A. Icon Passing Hit the Y button and a bunch of Icons of the buttons appear then tap the button of the player you want to pass to. A- Point Guard B- Shooting Guard X- Small Forward Y- Power Forward R- Center Crossover Dribbles Tap B to switch hands the ball is in to fake out the defender. Shooting Hold X down and at the peak of your jump release the button. If you don't release the button it will be a Traveling Violation. Layups/Dunks Depending on the player, if you are moving towards the basket you will either perform a layup or a dunk. Advanced Offense Backing Down Hold the L trigger down while moving your player towards the basket once near the basket tap the shoot button. Spin out of a Backdown Release L and hit the analog stick towards the basket. Alley-Oops Press the D-Pad then hit the R trigger to throw an alley-oop to your teammate. Pivot Mode If you don't move your player after receiving a pass you will be in Pivot mode. Pump Fake Tap the X button to fake out the defender by thinking you're going to shoot. Show And Go Pump fake the defender than dribble around him. You can only do this if you have not dribbled yet. Calling For A Pick Hit the D-Pad then hit the L trigger. Playcalling To select a play Hit the D-Pad. Then select a play with each A,B,X, and Y buttons. Torch Passing Tap A to pass but before it get to him tap A again and it will come back to you. Clearing Out After you grab a rebound repeatedly tab B before you land to Clear out the defenders. Pass Out Of A Shot When Going up to shoot keep your finger on X then hot the A button to pass it. Modes* ********** Season- You choose one of the 29 NBA teams and go through the whole season including pre-season and playoffs(if you can make it that far) Exhibition- Play a normal one-on-one game. Practice- You get in a normal court and get to shoot all you want with no defenders. Tournament- Play a tournament with either 4,8, or 16 teams that you can choose. Playoffs- You get to play through the play-offs with out having to go through a whole season. Create a Player- You get to create your own player by choosing height, looks, and skills. Create a Team- This mode lets you get to create your own team by choosing a name, logo, court, and players. *********** *6. Season* *********** This mode is where you select a team and you have to go through a whole NBA Season including preseason, season, and post-season. This can last for over 81 games! Right now I'm 12-0 as the Portland Trailblazers. ************* *7. Strategy* ************* Scoring a lot of points- Go to the practice court and practice you jump shots, til you get the right height, layups, dunks, and 3-pointers.
