This document is intended for private and personal use only, and is made soley for www.gamefaqs.com and it's readers. I used to let other sites use my FAQs, but they don't keep them updated or show ads around them or something else. It's too big of a hassle, so: 1. This document may ONLY be shown on GameFAQs, if it's on any other site it is unauthorized. Sorry guys, there's some nice webmasters out there, but a majority of you are backstabbing, greasy slimeball idiots who don't keep up with the latest version, or change the text to promote your own site, show the FAQs with ads around them, and so on. So from now on, this and any future guides I write are GameFAQs ONLY. Naturally, this doesn't include Gamespot since they have an agreement with GameFAQS. So yay for Gamespot! 2. INTRODUCTION ======================================================================== Welcome to my FAQ for the Sega Dreamcast game "Floigan Bros." This is a fun little game that emulates the cartoon stylings of alot of the old Warner Bros. cartoons and throws in a bit of A.I. control like Black and White. Unfortunately, this game came out near the end of the DC's lifespan, and it's pretty short and easy to boot, so alot of people overlooked it. While I don't feel it was worth $50, it's worth picking up now for the $5 or $10 you'll be paying for it. My goal with this guide is to get you through the main part of the game(which usually only takes a little over an hour once you know where to go and what to do). Even though it's a rather easy game there are a couple spots where you might get stuck, plus it's been high on the DC Request List at GameFAQS for awhile, so I figured I'd get it off of there. I also put in an Index section where I'll list all the things you can give to and teach Moigle. Items, Games, etc. I don't plan on this being a huge guide, since it's not a huge game, but I plan on covering everything there is in the game. If you have anything to add, be sure to E-Mail me. My address is in the About the Author section, but please follow the guidelines posted there. Thanks. Enjoy! ======================================================================== 2. BASIC CONTROLS ======================================================================== Analog Stick Move Hoigle DPad Not Used A Button Punch, Dive when running B Button Call Moigle to you, get Moigle's attention X Button Point, use Analog Stick to move arrow on screen Y Button Speak, opens Speak menu ======================================================================== 3. WALKTHRU ======================================================================== This is the main part of the guide. "Cookies!" is the tutorial for the game, I've included a brief walkthru for it for completion sake but it's pretty self-explanatory. Moigle's Secret is the main part of the game, here you control Hoigle Floigan and have to work with your big brother Moigle to find seven parts to Moigle's project that he's building in the garage. To do this you have manipulate Moigle at different times to make him angry, happy, sad, or scared. The rest of the time you'll be playing mini-game events to defeat cats the Baron sends down to the junkyard or help Moigle complete different tasks around the yard. ============ 3A. COOKIES! ============ Select COOKIES from the Main Menu, and you'll be taken to this tutorial mode. Moigle wants to make cookies and you have to help him get the ingredients. It's pretty straight forward but here's the steps you have to take to complete it. -Grab the sugar on the table by going up the ramp, use (A) to pick it up -Offer the sugar to Moigle with (B) -Open the Fridge with (A), then hit (X) -Position the arrow over the Butter and hit (A) -Give Butter to Moigle -Walk near the Dizzy Spot and point to it, when Moigle stands on it, run around him until he gets dizzy and falls over. -Hit (A) to jump on his belly, then (A) again to jump off up onto the shelf. -Grab the Chocolate with (A) then go back down and Offer it to Moigle with (B) -Hit (Y) to Speak and pick Hug to make Moigle happy -Go to the shelf and climb the ladder to get the Mitt -Offer it to Moigle with (B) -Punch Moigle with (A) until he gets mad, then run to the red pad on the floor. -Grab the apple here and drop down and Offer it to Moigle with (B) -Hit (Y) to open the Speak Menu, select Teach, then select High Five -Play the High Five game with Moigle(see Index section for how to play) -Offer 3 points to Moigle, then hit the switch with (A) to bring out the train, hit (A) again to start the train once Moigle's on it. -Run and Dive at the back of the train with (A), stay near the switch and run once the train goes by. It takes a couple tries but you'll get the hang of it. Grab the train 3 times and you're done with the tutorial On to the main game! =================== 3B. MOIGLE'S SECRET =================== The WalkThru is broken down into a piece by piece Walkthru, you don't have to collect the pieces in the exact order I have them here, but the order that I list them in seems to be the most natural order, i.e. the game flows the easiest in this order. The only real tip I can give is to save all your Points for the end, since you'll need 50 to teach Moigle to get over his fear of spiders and get the final piece. After you've done that and won the game you can keep playing and save up more points to teach Moigle other stuff. The walkthru is simple, because the game is simple, there's only a few areas and not that much to do, and if you ever forget what you're trying to do, look for the mice. The mice stand by the switch, doorway, whatever you're supposed to trigger, collect, ect. next. If you Dive and grab one, then it'll give you a clue as well. During the course of the game, Moigle will want to play or will become stubborn and refuse to do something. Play with Moigle if you want or you can refuse him, you'll have to play High Five at least 5 times during the game to get 50 points though. If Moigle is ever stubborn, just wait awhile, don't waste points bribing him. You can also make him happy, angry, or sad, and when he gets back to normal he'll usually do what you wanted. ---------- EXPLOSIVES ---------- *Go to gate with yellow switch sign, then go RIGHT to the mice *Climb the ladder and PUNCH the switch, the gates opens *Moigle will go through the gate to the mailbox and get the parcel, which is the first item: EXPLOSIVES, and run back to the garage. ------- CHIMNEY ------- *Go near the SAD CRATE by the water, left of the garage, and call for Moigle to come to you. *Insult Moigle a few times to make him sad, then stand on the SAD platform when the crates opens. *Moigle will cry and raise the level of the water, and a bridge to cross it. *Cross the bridge and go left to the ANGRY crate by the billboard *Punch Moigle until he gets angry then run and stand on the platform, Moigle will hit you up to the billboard *Grab the KEY on the Billboard, there's also an APPLE around the other side, this is the only time you can get it. *Drop down and use the KEY on the LOCK back near the angry platform. *Go up to the Moigle's Garden sign and call him to you. When he asks you to help him plant his Garden, say Yes. This starts the garden's mini-game. *You have to run around and Dive/Punch the birds away so they don't steal Moigle's seeds. If they steal 3 then you'll lose and have to start over. It's not that hard, when Moigle starts out, stay near the first couple rows he plants, when he moves on to the 3rd and 4th rows circle the garden and dive at any birds nearby. Every 5 hits causes all the birds to scatter for a few seconds. *Once Moigle plants all the seeds go to the HAPPY crate behind the garden. Call Moigle to you, or go to him if he doesn't come right away (don't offer him any points), and HUG him a few times to make him happy, then stand on the pad and Moigle will grab you. *You have to run to the Blue Switch on the other side of the garden and whack it to open the gates(left of the switch), then run to the gates before they close. Avoid the trees, and swipe the switch as you pass by it, then quickly turn to the left and head straight for the open gates. *Once you're past the gates, Moigle will toss you off his shoulders. *Go to the water..uhh, thing and POINT to the car end stick out of it to get Moigle to notice it. When he asks you to help repair the thing say YES and another minigame will start. *You have to run and hit the right color switch as Moigle calls it out, you only have 45 seconds at the start but you get a few bonus seconds for every switch you hit. If you fall you'll have to climb back up the ladder near Moigle, but you can keep hitting switches. The trick is to run when you're on the main part of the water tub, and walk quickly but carefully on the pipes when you have to. *After you hit nine, water will shoot out and the big plant will drop the second item: CHIMNEY. Moigle will run down and grab it, or you can go down to it and POINT at it to make him see it faster. You get 5 points as well. *Once you collect this item a cutscene will play --- FAN --- *POINT to the Dizzy pad near the house to get Moigle to stand on it, then run around Moigle a few times to make him dizzy and fall. *JUMP up onto the roof and the cat will jump down, you can jump down now as well. *Get Moigle to pick the cat up and pet it a couple times, POINT to it if you need but he usually does this on his own. This will trigger another brief cutscene and the deployment of a Bomber Cat up on the hill with the big tree. *Go onto the hill but not too close to the cat. Reply YES when Moigle asks you to help him beat the cat, and this will trigger another mini game. *To beat the Bomber Cat, you have to pick up the bombs and GIVE them to Moigle to throw back at the cat. You have to hit the cat 9 times to beat him, and Moigle can only get hit 3 times. While this isn't THAT hard there are a few things you have to worry about. First, sometimes you'll kinda slide on the hill and Moigle won't be able to grab the bomb you're trying to GIVE him, if this happens hit (B) to cancel and toss the bomb away, if it's already flashing just run away from Moigle, you can get hit an unlimited amount of time. Second, once you hand a bomb to Moigle, it won't blow up until he throws it, even if it's flashing when you give it to him. *As you hit the cat, he'll start throwing bombs out quicker, and they'll explode faster as well. Moigle will walk around and pick up bombs regardless of if they're flashing or not, so it's up to you to pick up and give Moigle 'safe' bombs and run to the ones that are flashing and toss or carry them away from Moigle. This minigame may take a few tries, but it's not that hard overall. Hoigle can toss the bombs back at the cat as well, but it's harder to get them over the sandbags. *Once you defeat the Bomber Cat you'll get the FAN and 5 more points. ------ ENGINE ------ *Go to the HAPPY crate to the right of the garage, near the blue switch you have to hit to open the next gate. Call Moigle to you and HUG him a few times to make him happy, then stand on the crate and Moigle will grab you. *Run to the blue switch and whack it as you pass by, then follow the wire on the ground to the open gates and make it through before they close. *You'll be in Spitz the dog's area and Moigle will ask you play a game with him. Say YES and you'll start another minigame. Before you play, check out the TENNIS RACKET that's around the corner of the wooden fence at the far end of Spitz's area, you'll need it later. *Now you have to run and DIVE to grab Spitz from behind three times before the time runs out. The first couple times it's not too hard to catch him, but after the second time he really speeds up. In general you want to dive to where he's GOING to be, rather than where he's at. The best place to catch him is when he's running along a wall, since he gets slowed down a little. *After you catch him three times, Spitz will dig up the ENGINE and you'll get five points. ------ BUCKET ------ *Give the Kitten to Moigle again and he'll pet hera little, this causes another quick cutscene and another Bad Cat to drop. This time the cat drops down into Spitz's area and sticks him in a cage. *Go back to Spitz's zone and Moigle will ask you to help him free Spitz, say yes and another minigame starts. *Now you have to protect Moigle as he runs and fixes 9 components. Grab the Tennis Racket you saw before, around the other side of the wooden fence, and then follow Moigle. Stay kinda close to him when he stops, but face away from him so you don't hit the tennis ball bullet things into him. Just whack the tennis balls away, if they hit a wall then they'll disintegrate. Just stay between Moigle and the Bad Cat at all times and you'll be able to whack away the bullets as they come. If Moigle gets hit 3 times then you'll lose, but that shouldn't happen. *Once Spitz is free, he'll chase away the cat and then dig up the BUCKET You get 5 points. --------------- LAST BOMBER CAT --------------- *This won't net you a piece of the suprise, but you have to do it to beat the game. *To call in the last bombercat, give the kitten to Moigle again and he'll pet her a couple times, then a cutscene will play with the last cat dropping down and opening the pipe to the swamp area. *After the cutscene, go to the pipe the cat went in, it's past the garden and watering thing. Go through the pipe and you'll be in a new area. *Move to the small wooden platform, when both Hoigle and Moigle are on it the platform will collapse. *Now make your way around the water to the Bomber Cat and Moigle will ask you to help him beat the Cat. If he doesn't, POINT to the cat and he will. Answer YES and yet another minigame will start. *You still have to hit the cat 9 times to beat him, but now you're playing a game of "hot potato" with the bombs. This is easy once you figure out the speeds of the flashing bombs: SLOW = 4 Passes MEDIUM = 3 Passes FAST = 2 Passes This means that when the bomb starts flashing FAST, it will explode on the second pass. So if you have the bomb and it starts flashing FAST, then pass it to one of the Bros, then to the cat to have it blow him up. The trick is to just pass the bomb between the two Bros. until it starts flashing, then pass it back and forth until it will explode on the next pass and pass it to the cat. Moigle and Hoigle can each take 3 hits, and you'll lose on the 3rd hit. *Beat the cat and he'll explode away, now you have to get out of this area. *Go to the Blue crate and INSULT Moigle until he's sad, then stand on the blue pad. Moigle will raise the water level. *Go across the floating bridges and grab the MASK near the hubcaps. *Move to the huge box with the YELLOW crate on top of it. *Call Moigle over to you and WEAR the mask to get him SCARED, then climb up the ladder to the yellow pad and stand on it. *Moigle will jump and break the crate, opening your exit route. -------- TRASHCAN -------- *From the garage go to Spitz's area, around the wooden fence to where the small spot with the spider. Call Moigle to you so he sees the spider and gets scared. *Once he's scared, run back out of Spitz's zone and towards the hill where the 1st Bomber Cat was, go past the hill to the stack of boxes just beyond it. *Climb up the ladder on the huge box and stand on the yellow pad, Moigle will jump and break it and the Stage area will be accessable. *Go into the Stage area and the TRASHCAN will be lying near the stage, POINT to it to get Moigle's attention and he'll grab it. 5 more points for you. ------ BARREL ------ *Get near the entrance to Spitz's zone and PUNCH Moigle until he gets MAD and chases you. Run into Spitz's area, around the wooden fence, and stand on the red pad near the spider(it won't bite you if you're on the red pad). Once Moigle catches up to you, he'll whack you over the fence to a new area. *You need the SKELETON KEY to open the gate back to the main zone of the game. Head through the wide cave with the spider and BARREL in it to the pipe at the other end and go in. *To reach the SKELETON KEY you need to hit the switches in this area to raise the middle platforms to it. Here's what order to hit them in: 1. Hit GREEN switch on Middle platform, then Red and go RIGHT 2. Hit GREEN switch on Right platform, then Red and go back to Middle 3. Hit RED switch on Middle platform, go Left 4. Hit GREEN switch on Left platform, then RED and go back to Middle *Now you'll be able to run across the middle platforms and reach the SKELETON KEY *Grab it and exit this area, go back through the cave with the spider, then go left and OPEN the gate with the SKELETON KEY. You keep the key but note that Moigle is scared of it, so put it in some out of the way place for now. *Now, you should be close to 50 points, hopefully you didn't use any and played a couple games of HIGH FIVE from time to time. Well, get ready to play some more. Keep playing and playing until you get up to 50 Points, then find an apple so Moigle will want to learn something. (check the roof of the house for an easy to get one, get Moigle dizzy and jump up there and grab it). *Get an apple and go back to Spitz's area where the spider is, GIVE the apple to MOIGLE before he gets close enough to see the spider and he'll want to learn. TEACH him to get over his fear of Spiders, then go near the spider and punch it from behind. Once it's down, Moigle will jump on it and squash it. *Now go back through the gate to the cave with the Spider and BARREL, punch the spider and Moigle will smash it and grab the BARREL. 5 more points for you. ----- WHEEL ----- *Now you've collected all the pieces of Moigle's Secret, but he still won't show you. To end the game, go back to the Stage area and go up onto the stage with the big, colorful wheel. *POINT to it to get Moigle's attention, then reply YES when he asks you to make him laugh. The final minigame begins! *You have to stop the wheel on the color Moigle says to make him laugh and raise his happy meter, or whatever it's called, on the right. The smaller the section of color, the higher the bar will raise. This is simple enough, the only real tip I can give you is to watch a single section that you want to stop on as it goes around the wheel, then hit the button when it's getting close to the top. *Raise Moigle's happiness bar to the top and he'll show you his Secret that he's been building. ####### SPOILER ####### It's a rocket that fires and shoots down the evil baron guy's blimp, ummm, hooray. ### END ### Well, that's that. After you beat the game you can keep playing to get more points and teach Moigle some more stuff. Joy. ======================================================================== 4. NEXT REVISION ======================================================================== The Next Revision will add all the Index info, and will probably be the last update. There's not alot of game to cover here, folks :) ======================================================================== 6. ABOUT THE AUTHOR ======================================================================== This is just one of a few FAQs I've written, all of which are available at GameFAQS. A few my FAQs are on various other websites (usually with proper creditO_o) as well. I hope this or any of the other FAQs I've written help you in some way, or allow you to enjoy a game more than before, or maybe just get a good read out of it. If you have any questions about this game, or any other I've written a FAQ for, feel free to drop me an E-Mail. BUT keep in mind a few things: 1. Please don't ask when the next revision will be out, or if I can send it to you. I don't really have a set schedule for these things, and you can pick up the FAQ(s) at GameFAQs. 2. Please don't ask about something already covered in the FAQ. Usually once a FAQ comes out I'm swamped with E-Mails and skip ones that are covered in the FAQ. 3. Don't mail asking for codes, I don't have a Gameshark or keep track of cheat codes or anything. Other than that, I try to answer every single E-Mail I get and am usually pretty good at getting back to people quickly, but sometimes I lose letters in my computer or forget to keep them as new. If I don't answer in a week or so it's safe to say I won't be getting back to you, sorry. My E-Mail address: ProfRev@cox.net === END ===
